We investigate heavy-hole spin relaxation and decoherence in quantum dots in perpendicular magnetic fields. We show that at low temperatures the spin decoherence time is 2 times longer than the spin relaxation time. We find that the spin relaxation time for heavy holes can be comparable to or even longer than that for electrons in strongly two-dimensional quantum dots. We discuss the difference in the magnetic-field dependence of the spin relaxation rate due to Rashba or Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling for systems with positive (i.e., GaAs quantum dots) or negative (i.e., InAs quantum dots) g factor.  相似文献

Employing nonlocal homogenization approach, we investigate the properties of a metamaterial consisting of parallel metallic wires with dielectric coating. We demonstrate that manipulation of dielectric contrast between wire dielectric shell and host material at fixed frequency results in dynamic switching of metamaterial dispersion regime from elliptic to the hyperbolic one, i.e. the topological transition takes place. It is proved that such transition can be induced by the variation of the metamaterial temperature. Our findings thus pave a way to the implementation of a tunable ‘elliptic‐hyperbolic’ metamaterial.  相似文献

The string model for the glass transition can quantitatively describe the universal α-relaxation in glassformers,including the average relaxation time,the distribution function of the relaxation time,and the relaxation strength as functions of temperature.The string relaxation equation(SRE) of the model,at high enough temperatures,simplifies to the well-known single particle mean-field Debye relaxation equation,and at low enough temperatures to the well-known Rouse-Zimm relaxation equation that describes the relaxation dynamics of linear macromolecules.However,its initial condition,necessary to the further model predictions of glassy dynamics,has not been solved.In this paper,the special initial condition(SIC) of the SRE,i.e.for straight strings and the dielectric spectrum technique that is one of the most common methods to measure the glassy dynamics,was solved exactly.It should be expected that the obtained SIC would benefit the solution of the general initial condition of the SRE of the string model,i.e.for stochastically spatially configurating strings,as will be described in separate publications.  相似文献

In this paper we demonstrate uniqueness of a transparent obstacle, of coefficients of rather general boundary transmission condition, and of a potential coefficient inside obstacle from partial Dirichlet-to Neumann map or from complete scattering data at fixed frequency. The proposed transmission problem includes in particular the isotropic elliptic equation with discontinuous conductivity coefficient. Uniqueness results are shown to be optimal. Hence the considered form can be viewed as a canonical form of isotropic elliptic transmission problems. Proofs use singular solutions of elliptic equations and complex geometrical optics. Determining an obstacle and boundary conditions (i.e. reflecting and transmitting properties of its boundary and interior) is of interest for acoustical and electromagnetic inverse scattering, for modeling fluid/structure interaction, and for defects detection.  相似文献

Heavy quarks play an important role in probing the properties of strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma(QGP)created in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions.We study the interactions of single heavy(charm)quarks and correlated charm and anticharm(ccˉ)quark pairs with the medium constituents of QGP by performing fireball+Langevin simulations of the pertinent Brownian motion with elastic collisions.Besides studying the traditional observables,the nuclear modification factor and the elliptic flow of single heavy quarks in QGP for different thermal relaxation rates,we also study the broadening of the azimuthal correlations of charm and anticharm quark pairs in the QGP medium for different relaxation rates and transverse momenta classes.We quantified the smearing of ccˉpair azimuthal correlations with an increasing thermal relaxation rate:while the(nearly)back-to-back correlations among ccˉpairs are almost completely washed out at low transverse momentum(pT),these correlations at high pT largely survive the pair diffusion.This provides a novel observable for diagnosing the properties of QGP.  相似文献

We study the energy relaxation process in one-dimensional (1D) lattices with next-nearest-neighbor (NNN) couplings. This relaxation is produced by adding damping (absorbing conditions) to the boundary (free-end) of the lattice. Compared to the 1D lattices with on-site potentials, the properties of discrete breathers (DBs) that are spatially localized intrinsic modes are quite unusual with the NNN couplings included, i.e. these DBs are mobile, and thus they can interact with both the phonons and the boundaries of the lattice. For the interparticle interactions of harmonic and Fermi–Pasta–Ulam–Tsingou-β (FPUT-β) types, we find two crossovers of relaxation in general, i.e. a first crossover from the stretched-exponential to the regular exponential relaxation occurring in a short timescale, and a further crossover from the exponential to the power-law relaxation taking place in a long timescale. The first and second relaxations are universal, but the final power-law relaxation is strongly influenced by the properties of DBs, e.g. the scattering processes of DBs with phonons and boundaries in the FPUT-β type systems make the power-law decay relatively faster than that in the counterparts of the harmonic type systems under the same coupling. Our results present new information and insights for understanding the slow energy relaxation in cooling the lattices.  相似文献

The question of the origins of nonexponential relaxation is addressed in terms of the probabilistic approach to relaxation. The interconnection between two differently rooted probabilistic models, i.e., between the parallel channel and the correlated cluster models, is presented. We show that clearly different probabilistic origins yield in both approaches a well-defined class of universally valid two-power-law responses with the stretched-exponential and exponential decay laws as special cases. The equivalence of both models indicates that variations in the local environment of the relaxing configurational units (parallel channel relaxation) can provide a basis for self-similar relaxation dynamics without the need for hierarchically constrained dynamics (correlated clusters relaxation).  相似文献

超短脉冲激光加热可应用于研究材料中载能子之间的超快相互作用,同时也广泛应用于超快激光加工.此前人们提出的双温度模型和抛物一步模型都只能用于描述超短脉冲激光加热金属薄膜后热量传递过程的特定片段.基于双温度模型和傅里叶导热定律,提出普适的理论模型可用于完整描述飞秒激光加热金属薄膜/基底时的整个热量传递过程.同时在300 K温度下,采用背面抽运-表面探测瞬态热反射法实验研究了飞秒脉冲激光加热金属薄膜的热量传递过程,理论预测曲线和实验测量结果符合较好,验证了理论模型的正确性.基于此模型测量得到了金薄膜的电子-声子 关键词: 飞秒脉冲激光 电子-声子耦合 界面热导 瞬态热反射  相似文献

A relatively rapid phase alternation of the effective field in the time averaged precession frequency (TAPF) sequence results in averaging of the proton RF spin-lock field. The spin-locking of the proton magnetization becomes less efficient and thus shortens T(1rho)(H), the proton spin-lattice relaxation time in the rotating frame. The relaxation time also depends on the ratio of tau(1) and tau(2) intervals i.e. tau(1)/tau(2) and not only on the number of tau(c)=tau(1)+tau(2) blocks, i.e. the number of the phase transients. Experiments are performed on solid samples of ferrocene and glycine and for some time intervals, T(1rho)(H) is shortened by factors of 9-100 compared to the relaxation times obtained in the standard experiment.  相似文献

The relaxation of the anomalous state, i.e., the return of the growth kinetics to the regime typical of crystals in the normal state, is studied experimentally in the temperature range 0.48–0.68 K. It is found that the relaxation process with the growth rate decreasing by two orders of magnitude mainly occurs 1–20 ms after the termination of the fast growth stage. Slow relaxation to the normal values of the kinetic growth coefficient is observed subsequently during a time interval equal approximately to 100 ms.  相似文献

The effects of Ir doping on the oxygen vacancy formation energy have been investigated using the DFT+U method, i.e., first-principles density functional theory calculations with the inclusion of the on-site Coulomb interaction. The main factors influencing the reducibility of Ir-doped ceria are studied carefully. It is found that, although the Ir doping induces gap states (MIGS) as do other noble metals (Pd, Pt, Rh), the structural relaxation (instead of the electronic structure relaxation) is the main factor responsible for the decrease of the oxygen vacancy formation energy, i.e., the Ir doping makes structural distortions much more exothermic for the reduced ceria.  相似文献

Using picosecond laser pulses of a NdYAG laser system we studied relaxation processes in high-excited monocrystalline silicon by transient reflectivity and transmittance. An experimental setup will be presented which is very sensitive to small refractive index changes. By different excitation radiations, i.e. different induced carrier distributions it is possible to separate the influence of different relaxation processes as surface and bulk recombination and diffusion on the simultaneously measured transient reflectivity and transmittance. The parameters of these relaxation processes were found by fitting the experimental results with computer calculations.  相似文献

We construct algebraic-geometric families of genus one (i.e. elliptic) current and affine Lie algebras of Krichever-Novikov type. These families deform the classical current, respectively affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras. The construction is induced by the geometric process of degenerating the elliptic curve to singular cubics. If the finite-dimensional Lie algebra defining the infinite dimensional current algebra is simple then, even if restricted to local families, the constructed families are non-equivalent to the trivial family. In particular, we show that the current algebra is geometrically not rigid, despite its formal rigidity. This shows that in the infinite dimensional Lie algebra case the relations between geometric deformations, formal deformations and Lie algebra two-cohomology are not that close as in the finite-dimensional case. The constructed families are e.g. of relevance in the global operator approach to the Wess-Zumino-Witten-Novikov models appearing in the quantization of Conformal Field Theory. The algebras are explicitly given by generators and structure equations and yield new examples of infinite dimensional algebras of current and affine Lie algebra type.  相似文献

本文提出用图形逼近和取尺寸上、下限值的几何平均值的方法,计算椭圆外导体-矩形内导体同轴线特性阻抗。矩形截面内导体的内切共焦椭圆和外接共焦椭圆,通过保角变换,变成同心圆。矩形变成近于矩形的闭合曲线,二同心圆分别为它的最小值和最大值,取二者的几何平均值,与同轴椭圆截面外导体同时变成的同心圆,构成一个标准同轴线,得到了特性阻抗公式。并由此推导出椭圆外导体-微带内导体、圆形外导体-方形内导体、圆形外导体-矩形内导体及圆形外导体-微带内导体等各种同轴线的特性阻抗的初等函数表示式。给出了上述几种同轴线的特性阻抗准确数值。 关键词:  相似文献

本文提出用圆或椭圆图形逼近多角形边界、计及其角形外导体边界的电荷角效应影响和取截面边界尺寸上、下限几何平均值的方法,计算特种截面传输线特性阻抗,得到了矩形外导体-椭圆内导体、圆形外导体-正三角形内导体、圆形外导体-正五边形内导体、圆形外导体-正六边形内导体、椭圆外导体-矩形内导体等五种新型传输线和九种现有传输线特性阻抗的初等函数计算公式,通过计算数值与有关文献的精确值比较,证实了本文方法及其特性阻抗计算公式的准确性。 关键词:  相似文献

Recently, we obtained thirteen families of Jacobian elliptic function solutions of mKdV equation by usingour extended Jacobian elliptic function expansion method. In this note, the mKdV equation is investigated and anotherthree families of new doubly periodic solutions (Jacobian elliptic function solutions) are fbund again by using a newtransformation, which and our extended Jacobian elliptic function expansion method form a new method still called theextended Jacobian elliptic function expansion method. Quantum fluctuations in a laser with two different relaxation times are considered, i.e., transverse (polarization relaxation) and longitudinal (population relaxation) in the case in which the cavity transmission band half-width is much smaller than the transverse width and much larger than the longitudinal one. The lasing frequency detuning from the transition frequency of a two-level system is assumed to be arbitrary in this case, and it is necessary to take into account the contribution of two-particle correlators into the dispersion and laser linewidth.
