Granular mixtures segregate radially by size when tumbled in a partially filled horizontal drum. The smaller component moves toward the axis of rotation and forms a buried core, which then splits into axial bands. Models have generally assumed that the axial segregation is opposed by diffusion. Using narrow pulses of the smaller component as initial conditions, we have characterized axial transport in the core. We find that the axial advance of the segregated core is well described by a self-similar concentration profile whose width scales as talpha, with alpha approximately 0.3<1/2. Thus, the process is subdiffusive rather than diffusive as previously assumed. We compare our results to two one-dimensional model equations which contain self-similarity and subdiffusion: a linear fractional diffusion model and the nonlinear porous medium equation.  相似文献

多孔介质中高Péclet数和大黏性比下混溶流体的流动和扩散广泛存在于二氧化碳驱油、化工生产等工业过程中.用数值方法对该问题进行研究时,关键在于如何正确描述高Péclet数和大黏性比下多孔介质内流体的行为.为此,提出了一种基于多松弛模型和格子动理模型的耦合格子Boltzmann模型.通过Chapman-Enskog分析,证明该模型能有效求解不可压Navier-Stokes方程和对流扩散方程.数值结果表明,该模型不仅具有二阶精度和良好的稳健性,而且对于高Péclet数和大黏性比的问题具有良好的数值稳定性,为模拟此类问题提供了有效工具.  相似文献

Nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations (e.g., the diffusion equation for porous medium) are important candidates for describing anomalous diffusion in a variety of systems. In this paper we introduce such nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations with general state-dependent diffusion, thus significantly generalizing the case of constant diffusion which has been discussed previously. An approximate maximum entropy (MaxEnt) approach based on the Tsallis nonextensive entropy is developed for the study of these equations. The MaxEnt solutions are shown to preserve the functional relation between the time derivative of the entropy and the time dependent solution. In some particular important cases of diffusion with power-law multiplicative noise, our MaxEnt scheme provides exact time dependent solutions. We also prove that the stationary solutions of the nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation with diffusion of the (generalized) Stratonovich type exhibit the Tsallis MaxEnt form. In this paper we derive new potential symmetries that seem not to be recorded in the literature. These potential symmetries are determined by considering a generalized potential system, rather than the natural potential system or a general integral variable. 为定量研究多组分系统在多孔介质内传质过程中组分之间的交互作用现象,本文基于Maxwell-Stefan模型对CH4/Ar/H2混合气体在单个直孔道内的纯扩散过程和C2H6/C3H8/N2混合气体在活性炭上的吸附扩散过程进行了模拟,定量地描述和分析了多组分系统中组分之间在传质过程中的交互作用。研究表明:对于扩散过程,组分之间的交互作用表现为大分子对小分子的拖带;对于吸附过程,这种作用表现为强吸附质能够替代已被吸附在吸附剂表面的弱吸附质;主体扩散为主要的传质形式。  相似文献

A fractional partial differential equation is derived for the spreading of matter in a saturated porous medium starting from precise hypotheses concerning the medium itself, which is a collection of intertwisted tubes with randomly distributed slopes, filled with quiescent fluid. Examining the fundamental solution of the fractional equation indicates that the second moment is not proportional to time, which is the signature of anomalous diffusion. The equation derived preserves non-negativity and also the total mass of matter.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to analyze some features of contaminant flow passing through cracked porous medium, such as the influence of fracture network on the advection and diffusion of contaminant species, the impact of adsorption on the overall transport of contaminant wastes. In order to precisely describe the whole process, we firstly build the mathematical model to simulate this problem numerically. Taking into consideration of the characteristics of contaminant flow, we employ two partial differential equations to formulate the whole problem. One is flow equation; the other is reactive transport equation. The first equation is used to describe the total flow of contaminant wastes, which is based on Darcy law. The second one will characterize the adsorption, diffusion and convection behavior of contaminant species, which describes most features of contaminant flow we are interested in. After the construction of numerical model, we apply locally conservative and compatible algorithms to solve this mathematical model. Specifically, we apply Mixed Finite Element (MFE) method to the flow equation and Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method for the transport equation. MFE has a good convergence rate and numerical accuracy for Darcy velocity. DG is more flexible and can be used to deal with irregular meshes, as well as little numerical diffusion. With these two numerical means, we investigate the sensitivity analysis of different features of contaminant flow in our model, such as diffusion, permeability and fracture density. In particular, we study $K_d$ values which represent the distribution of contaminant wastes between the solid and liquid phases. We also make comparisons of two different schemes and discuss the advantages of both methods.  相似文献

We geometrically study the Legendre duality relation that plays an important role in statistical physics with the standard or generalized entropies. For this purpose, we introduce dualistic structure defined by information geometry, and discuss concepts arising in generalized thermostatistics, such as relative entropies, escort distributions and modified expectations. Further, a possible generalization of these concepts in a certain direction is also considered. Finally, as an application of such a geometric viewpoint, we briefly demonstrate several new results on the behavior of the solution to a nonlinear diffusion equation called the porous medium equation.  相似文献

将Fick扩散定律的Fourier三角级数算法推广成多孔材料分形扩散模型的Fourier-Bessel级数算法,并把它应用于化学工程中吸附问题涉及的浓度分布与相对吸附量的计算中,取得一些规律性认识.由于分形扩散模型是在Fick扩散定律的基础上增加了表征微观结构的参数dfθ,研究多孔材料中的浓度分布与相对吸附量时,与Fick扩散定律的研究结果相比,定性上基本一致,在定量上有差别,dfθ对扩散传质过程的影响各有侧重,用它们可更好地描述多孔材料中的扩散过程.  相似文献

We study s-wave pion-pion scattering length in lattice QCD for pion masses ranging from 330 MeV to 466 MeV.In the "Asqtad" improved staggered fermion formulation,we measure full ππ four-point correlators for isospin I = 0 and 2 channels,and use chiral perturbation theory at next-to-leading order to extrapolate our simulation results.Extrapolating to the physical pion mass yields scattering lengths as mπaI=2 0 = 0.041 6(2) and m π a I =0 0 = 0.186(2) for isospin I = 2 and 0 channels,respectively.Our lattice simulation for ππ scattering length in I = 0 channel is an exploratory study,where we include the disconnected contribution,and our preliminary result is near to its experimental value.These simulations are carried out with MILC 2 + 1 flavor gauge configurations at lattice spacing a ≈ 0.15 fm.  相似文献

Using a two-component composite theory, we compute the internal field gradient of a periodic porous medium induced by the magnetic susceptibility contrasts. The magnetization of such a system is computed by using the diffusion eigenstates in Fourier representation. We show that the volume averaged field gradient, when used in the formula for free diffusion, significantly overestimates the magnetization decay rate. We also establish bounds for such a periodic system within which the Gaussian approximation is valid for diffusion of spins in the pore space.  相似文献

Near-IR radiation is often utilized to detect the properties in tissues, up to now, a semi-infinite medium photon migration model and a two-layered turbid medium model are applied widely. In this paper, we set up the steady-state photon diffusion model of three-layered mismatched medium. We utilize the diffuse equation to solve a three-layered mismatched medium and obtain the accurate solution of a three-layered mismatched medium of the steady state in tissue. We find that the solution of a three-layered mismatched medium diffusion equation not only accord with the Monte-Carlo simulation, but can still solve the problems of a two-layered turbid medium model.  相似文献

We find that there are two time scales t and ε ln t in the asymptotic behaviour of diffusion process in the porous medium, which give us a new insight to the anomalous dimension in this problem. In this paper, a new type (or the second type) of transformation which is used to map the variable coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger (VCNLS) equation to the usual nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation is given. As a special case, a new kind of nonautonomous NLS equation with a t-dependent potential is
introduced. Further, by using the new transformation and making full use of the known soliton and rogue wave solutions of the usual NLS equation, the corresponding kinds of solutions of a special model of the new nonautonomous NLS equation are discussed respectively. Additionally, through using the new transformation, a new expression, i.e., the non-rational formula, of the rogue wave of a special VCNLS equation is given analytically.

将复杂的骨架-孔隙系统抽象成等效双孔介质,根据Bloch方程构建数学模型,用交替隐式时域有限差分(ADI-FDTD)和联合反演迭代法(SIRT)进行横向宏观磁化矢量的数值模拟与核磁共振T2谱的反演,定量研究扩散系数、弛豫速率、孔隙组分比和孔隙宽度对核磁响应的影响.结果表明:横向宏观磁化矢量衰减速率与扩散系数和微孔隙分量成正比,与孔隙宽度成反比,与表面弛豫速率基本无关.当扩散系数较大、孔隙宽度较小时,核磁共振T2谱难以直观反映孔隙组分及孔隙结构.应用核磁共振评价孔隙结构时需特别注意扩散系数和孔隙尺寸的影响.  相似文献

The motion of contaminant particles through complex environments such as fractured rocks or porous sediments is often characterized by anomalous diffusion: the spread of the transported quantity is found to grow sublinearly in time due to the presence of obstacles which hinder particle migration. The asymptotic behavior of these systems is usually well described by fractional diffusion, which provides an elegant and unified framework for modeling anomalous transport. We show that pre-asymptotic corrections to fractional diffusion might become relevant, depending on the microscopic dynamics of the particles. To incorporate these effects, we derive a modified transport equation and validate its effectiveness by a Monte Carlo simulation.  相似文献

The diffusion of particles in confining walls forming a tube is discussed. Such a transport phenomenon is observed in biological cells and porous media. We consider the case in which the tube is winding with curvature and torsion, and the thickness of the tube is sufficiently small compared with its curvature radius. We discuss how geometrical quantities appear in a quasi-one-dimensional diffusion equation.  相似文献

We consider particle transport in a spatially random medium, the transport governed by the traditional, linear, time- and space-dependent transport equation for “host and guest.” The scattering is elastic and isotropic; there is no absorption. If the host medium has uniform density we know that an initial burst will, in time, approach the solution to the time-dependent diffusion equation. In the case of random medium we find that for a large class of such media the asymptotic behavior is unchanged by the stochasticity; there is neither renormalization of the equation nor the diffusion co-efficient.The nature of the correlation between fluctuations of density at large separation plays an important role in the analysis.  相似文献
