Let \({\Omega}\) be a Lipschitz bounded domain of \({\mathbb{R}^N}\), \({N\geq2}\), and let \({u_p\in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)}\) denote the p-torsion function of \({\Omega}\), p > 1. It is observed that the value 1 for the Cheeger constant \({h(\Omega)}\) is threshold with respect to the asymptotic behavior of up, as \({p\rightarrow 1^+}\), in the following sense: when \({h(\Omega) > 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_{p}\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=0}\), and when \({h(\Omega) < 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=\infty}\). In the case \({h(\Omega)=1}\), it is proved that \({\limsup_{p\rightarrow1^+}\left\|u_p\right\|_{L^\infty(\Omega)}<\infty}\). For a radial annulus \({\Omega_{a,b}}\), with inner radius a and outer radius b, it is proved that \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega_{a,b})}=0}\) when \({h(\Omega_{a,b})=1}\).  相似文献

We prove a Beurling-Blecher-Labuschagne theorem for \({H^\infty}\)-invariant spaces of \({L^p(\mathcal{M},\tau)}\) when \({0 < p \leq\infty}\), using Arveson’s non-commutative Hardy space \({H^\infty}\) in relation to a von Neumann algebra \({\mathcal{M}}\) with a semifinite, faithful, normal tracial weight \({\tau}\). Using the main result, we are able to completely characterize all \({H^\infty}\)-invariant subspaces of \({L^p(\mathcal{M} \rtimes_\alpha \mathbb{Z},\tau)}\), where \({\mathcal{M} \rtimes_\alpha \mathbb{Z} }\) is a crossed product of a semifinite von Neumann algebra \({\mathcal{M}}\) by the integer group \({\mathbb{Z}}\), and \({H^\infty}\) is a non-selfadjoint crossed product of \({\mathcal{M}}\) by \({\mathbb{Z}^+}\). As an example, we characterize all \({H^\infty}\)-invariant subspaces of the Schatten p-class \({S^p(\mathcal{H})}\), where \({H^\infty}\) is the lower triangular subalgebra of \({B(\mathcal{H})}\), for each \({0 < p \leq\infty}\).  相似文献

Let \({\varphi}\) be a Musielak–Orlicz function satisfying that, for any \({(x,\,t)\in{\mathbb R}^n \times [0, \infty)}\), \({\varphi(\cdot,\,t)}\) belongs to the Muckenhoupt weight class \({A_\infty({\mathbb R}^n)}\) with the critical weight exponent \({q(\varphi) \in [1,\,\infty)}\) and \({\varphi(x,\,\cdot)}\) is an Orlicz function with uniformly lower type \({p^{-}_{\varphi}}\) and uniformly upper type \({p^+_\varphi}\) satisfying \({q(\varphi) < p^{-}_{\varphi}\le p^{+}_{\varphi} < \infty}\). In this paper, the author obtains a sharp weighted bound involving \({A_\infty}\) constant for the Hardy–Littlewood maximal operator on the Musielak–Orlicz space \({L^{\varphi}}\). This result recovers the known sharp weighted estimate established by Hytönen et al. in [J. Funct. Anal. 263:3883–3899, 2012].  相似文献

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of viscosity solutions to boundary blow-up elliptic problem \({\Delta_{\infty}u=b(x)f(u),\, x\in\Omega,\,u|_{\partial\Omega}=+\infty,}\) where \({\Omega}\) is a bounded domain with C2-boundary in \({\mathbb{R}^{N}}\), \({b\in \rm C(\bar{\Omega})}\) is positive in \({\Omega}\), which may be vanishing on the boundary, \({f\in C^{1}([0, \infty))}\) is regularly varying or is rapidly varying at infinity.  相似文献

We investigate Weyl type asymptotics of functional-difference operators associated to mirror curves of special del Pezzo Calabi-Yau threefolds. These operators are \({H(\zeta) = U + U^{-1} + V + \zeta V^{-1}}\) and \({H_{m,n} = U + V + q^{-mn}U^{-m}V^{-n}}\), where \({U}\) and \({V}\) are self-adjoint Weyl operators satisfying \({UV = q^{2}VU}\) with \({q = {\rm e}^{{\rm i}\pi b^{2}}}\), \({b > 0}\) and \({\zeta > 0}\), \({m, n \in \mathbb{N}}\). We prove that \({H(\zeta)}\) and \({H_{m,n}}\) are self-adjoint operators with purely discrete spectrum on \({L^{2}(\mathbb{R})}\). Using the coherent state transform we find the asymptotical behaviour for the Riesz mean \({\sum_{j\ge 1}(\lambda - \lambda_{j})_{+}}\) as \({\lambda \to \infty}\) and prove the Weyl law for the eigenvalue counting function \({N(\lambda)}\) for these operators, which imply that their inverses are of trace class.  相似文献

Let \({\Omega}\) a bounded domain in \({\mathbb{R} ^N }\), and let \({u\in C^1 (\overline{\Omega})}\) a weak solution of the following overdetermined BVP: \({-\nabla (g(|\nabla u|)|\nabla u|^{-1}\nabla u)=f(|x|,u)}\), \({ u > 0 }\) in \({\Omega }\) and \({u=0, \ |\nabla u(x)|=\lambda (|x|)}\) on \({\partial \Omega }\), where \({g\in C([0,+\infty)\cap C^1 ((0,+\infty ) ) }\) with \({g(0)=0}\), \({g'(t) > 0}\) for \({t > 0}\), \({f\in C([0,+\infty ) \times [0, +\infty ) )}\), f is nonincreasing in \({|x|}\), \({\lambda \in C([0, +\infty )) }\) and \({\lambda }\) is positive and nondecreasing. We show that \({\Omega }\) is a ball and u satisfies some “local” kind of symmetry. The proof is based on the method of continuous Steiner symmetrization.  相似文献

We study hypercyclicity of the Toeplitz operators in the Hardy space \({H^{2}(\mathbb{D})}\) with symbols of the form \({p(\overline{z}) + \varphi(z)}\), where \({p}\) is a polynomial and \({\varphi \in H^{\infty}(\mathbb{D})}\). We find both necessary and sufficient conditions for hypercyclicity which almost coincide in the case when deg \({p =1}\).  相似文献

For a generic \({f \in C^\infty({\mathbb {R}}^3,{\mathbb {R}}^3)}\), there is a discrete set of swallowtail critical points. At any swallowtail point p there exists a well-oriented coordinate system centred at p, and a coordinate system centred at f(p), such that locally f has the form \({f_\pm(x, y, z) = (\pm xy+x^2 z+x^4, y, z)}\), so one may associate with p a sign \({I(f, p) \in \{\pm 1\}}\). We shall show how to compute the number of swallowtail points having the positive/negative sign, in the case where \({f : {\mathbb {R}}^3 \rightarrow {\mathbb {R}}^3}\) is a polynomial mapping, in terms of signatures of quadratic forms.  相似文献

Let \({\{\varphi_n(z)\}_{n\ge0}}\) be a sequence of inner functions satisfying that \({\zeta_n(z):=\varphi_n(z)/\varphi_{n+1}(z)\in H^\infty(z)}\) for every n ≥ 0 and \({\{\varphi_n(z)\}_{n\ge0}}\) have no nonconstant common inner divisors. Associated with it, we have a Rudin type invariant subspace \({\mathcal{M}}\) of \({H^2(\mathbb{D}^2)}\) . We write \({\mathcal{N}= H^2(\mathbb{D}^2)\ominus\mathcal{M}}\) . If \({\{\zeta_n(z)\}_{n\ge0}}\) ia a mutually prime sequence, then we shall prove that \({rank_{\{T^\ast_z,T^\ast_w\}} \mathcal{N}=1}\) and \({rank_{\{\mathcal{F}^\ast_z\}}(\mathcal{M}\ominus w\mathcal{M})=1}\) , where \({\mathcal{F}_z}\) is the fringe operator on \({\mathcal{M}\ominus w\mathcal{M}}\) .  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions for the following second-order p(t)-Laplacian–Hamiltonian systems
$$\frac{{\rm d}}{{\rm d}t}(|\dot{u}(t)|^{p(t)-2}\dot{u}(t))-a(t)|u(t)|^{p(t)-2}u(t)+\nabla W(t,u(t))=0,$$
where \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\), \({u \in \mathbb{R}^n}\), \({p \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\) with p(t) > 1, \({a \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\), \({W\in C^1(\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^n,\mathbb{R})}\) and \({\nabla W(t,u)}\) is the gradient of W(t, u) in u. The point is that, assuming that a(t) is bounded in the sense that there are constants \({0<\tau_1<\tau_2<\infty}\) such that \({\tau_1\leq a(t)\leq \tau_2 }\) for all \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\) and W(t, u) is of super-p(t) growth or sub-p(t) growth as \({|u|\rightarrow \infty}\), we provide two new criteria to ensure the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions, respectively. Recent results in the literature are extended and significantly improved.

Let \({{\|\cdot\|}}\) be a norm on \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) and \({\|.\|_*}\) be the dual norm. If \({\|\cdot\|}\) has a normalized 1-symmetric basis \({\{e_i\}_{i=1}^n}\) then the following inequalities hold: for all \({x,y\in \mathbb{R}^n}\), \({\|x\|\cdot\|y\|_*\le \max(\|x\|_1\cdot\|y\|_\infty,\|x\|_\infty\cdot\|y\|_1)}\) and if the basis is only 1-unconditional and normalized then for all \({x \in \mathbb{R}^n}\) , \({\|x\|+\|x\|_{*}\leq \|x\|_1+\|x\|_\infty}\) . We consider other geometric generalizations and apply these results to get, as a special case, estimates on best random embeddings of k-dimensional Hilbert spaces in the spaces of nuclear operators \({{\mathcal N}(K,K)}\) of dimension n 2, for all k = [λn 2] and 0 < λ < 1. We obtain universal upper bounds independent on the 1-symmetric norm \({\|.\|}\) for the products of pth moments
$\left( {\mathbb{E}} \left\|\sum_{i=1}^n f_i(\omega)\,e_i\right\|^p\cdot\, \mathbb {E} \left\|\sum_{i=1}^n f_i(\omega)\,e_i\right\|_*^p\right)^{1/p}$
for independent random variables {f i (ω)}, and 1 ≤ p < ∞.

In this article, we consider the following fractional Hamiltonian systems:
$$\begin{aligned} {_{t}}D_{\infty }^{\alpha }({_{-\infty }}D_{t}^{\alpha }u) + \lambda L(t)u = \nabla W(t, u), \;\;t\in \mathbb {R}, \end{aligned}$$
where \(\alpha \in (1/2, 1)\), \(\lambda >0\) is a parameter, \(L\in C(\mathbb {R}, \mathbb {R}^{n\times n})\) and \(W \in C^{1}(\mathbb {R} \times \mathbb {R}^n, \mathbb {R})\). Unlike most other papers on this problem, we require that L(t) is a positive semi-definite symmetric matrix for all \(t\in \mathbb {R}\), that is, \(L(t) \equiv 0\) is allowed to occur in some finite interval \(\mathbb {I}\) of \(\mathbb {R}\). Under some mild assumptions on W, we establish the existence of nontrivial weak solution, which vanish on \(\mathbb {R} \setminus \mathbb {I}\) as \(\lambda \rightarrow \infty ,\) and converge to \(\tilde{u}\) in \(H^{\alpha }(\mathbb {R})\); here \(\tilde{u} \in E_{0}^{\alpha }\) is nontrivial weak solution of the Dirichlet BVP for fractional Hamiltonian systems on the finite interval \(\mathbb {I}\). Furthermore, we give the multiplicity results for the above fractional Hamiltonian systems.

For \(p\in [1,\infty ]\), we establish criteria for the one-sided invertibility of binomial discrete difference operators \({{\mathcal {A}}}=aI-bV\) on the space \(l^p=l^p(\mathbb {Z})\), where \(a,b\in l^\infty \), I is the identity operator and the isometric shift operator V is given on functions \(f\in l^p\) by \((Vf)(n)=f(n+1)\) for all \(n\in \mathbb {Z}\). Applying these criteria, we obtain criteria for the one-sided invertibility of binomial functional operators \(A=aI-bU_\alpha \) on the Lebesgue space \(L^p(\mathbb {R}_+)\) for every \(p\in [1,\infty ]\), where \(a,b\in L^\infty (\mathbb {R}_+)\), \(\alpha \) is an orientation-preserving bi-Lipschitz homeomorphism of \([0,+\infty ]\) onto itself with only two fixed points 0 and \(\infty \), and \(U_\alpha \) is the isometric weighted shift operator on \(L^p(\mathbb {R}_+)\) given by \(U_\alpha f= (\alpha ^\prime )^{1/p}(f\circ \alpha )\). Applications of binomial discrete operators to interpolation theory are given.  相似文献

Let \({\mathcal B}_{p,w}\) be the Banach algebra of all bounded linear operators acting on the weighted Lebesgue space \(L^p(\mathbb {R},w)\), where \(p\in (1,\infty )\) and w is a Muckenhoupt weight. We study the Banach subalgebra \(\mathfrak {A}_{p,w}\) of \({\mathcal B}_{p,w}\) generated by all multiplication operators aI (\(a\in \mathrm{PSO}^\diamond \)) and all convolution operators \(W^0(b)\) (\(b\in \mathrm{PSO}_{p,w}^\diamond \)), where \(\mathrm{PSO}^\diamond \subset L^\infty (\mathbb {R})\) and \(\mathrm{PSO}_{p,w}^\diamond \subset M_{p,w}\) are algebras of piecewise slowly oscillating functions that admit piecewise slowly oscillating discontinuities at arbitrary points of \(\mathbb {R}\cup \{\infty \}\), and \(M_{p,w}\) is the Banach algebra of Fourier multipliers on \(L^p(\mathbb {R},w)\). For any Muckenhoupt weight w, we study the Fredholmness in the Banach algebra \({\mathcal Z}_{p,w}\subset \mathfrak {A}_{p,w}\) generated by the operators \(aW^0(b)\) with slowly oscillating data \(a\in \mathrm{SO}^\diamond \) and \(b\in \mathrm{SO}^\diamond _{p,w}\). Then, under some condition on the weight w, we complete constructing a Fredholm symbol calculus for the Banach algebra \(\mathfrak {A}_{p,w}\) in comparison with Karlovich and Loreto Hernández (Integr. Equations Oper. Theory 74:377–415, 2012) and Karlovich and Loreto Hernández (Integr. Equations Oper. Theory 75:49–86, 2013) and establish a Fredholm criterion for the operators \(A\in \mathfrak {A}_{p,w}\) in terms of their symbols. A new approach to determine local spectra is found.  相似文献

We call the \({\delta}\)-vector of an integral convex polytope of dimension d flat if the \({\delta}\)-vector is of the form \({(1,0,\ldots,0,a,\ldots,a,0,\ldots,0)}\), where \({a \geq 1}\). In this paper, we give the complete characterization of possible flat \({\delta}\)-vectors. Moreover, for an integral convex polytope \({\mathcal{P}\subset \mathbb{R}^N}\) of dimension d, we let \({i(\mathcal{P},n)=|n\mathcal{P}\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},n)=|n(\mathcal{P} {\setminus}\partial \mathcal{P})\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\). By this characterization, we show that for any \({d \geq 1}\) and for any \({k,\ell \geq 0}\) with \({k+\ell \leq d-1}\), there exist integral convex polytopes \({\mathcal{P}}\) and \({\mathcal{Q}}\) of dimension d such that (i) For \({t=1,\ldots,k}\), we have \({i(\mathcal{P},t)=i(\mathcal{Q},t),}\) (ii) For \({t=1,\ldots,\ell}\), we have \({i^*(\mathcal{P},t)=i^*(\mathcal{Q},t)}\), and (iii) \({i(\mathcal{P},k+1) \neq i(\mathcal{Q},k+1)}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},\ell+1)\neq i^*(\mathcal{Q},\ell+1)}\).  相似文献

We introduce and study adhesive spaces. Using this concept we obtain a characterization of stable Baire maps \({f : X\to Y}\) of the class \({\alpha}\) for wide classes of topological spaces. In particular, we prove that for a topological space X and a contractible space Y a map \({f : X \to Y}\) belongs to the nth stable Baire class if and only if there exist a sequence \({(f_k)_{k=1}^\infty}\) of continuous maps \({f_k : {X \to Y}}\) and a sequence \({(F_k)_{k=1}^\infty}\) of functionally ambiguous sets of the nth class in X such that \({f|_{F_k}=f_k|_{F_k}}\) for every k. Moreover, we show that every monotone function \({f : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}}\) is of the \({\alpha}\) th stable Baire class if and only if it belongs to the first stable Baire class.  相似文献

We consider the robust (or min-max) optimization problem
$J^*:=\max_{\mathbf{y}\in{\Omega}}\min_{\mathbf{x}}\{f(\mathbf{x},\mathbf{y}): (\mathbf{x},\mathbf{y})\in\mathbf{\Delta}\}$
where f is a polynomial and \({\mathbf{\Delta}\subset\mathbb{R}^n\times\mathbb{R}^p}\) as well as \({{\Omega}\subset\mathbb{R}^p}\) are compact basic semi-algebraic sets. We first provide a sequence of polynomial lower approximations \({(J_i)\subset\mathbb{R}[\mathbf{y}]}\) of the optimal value function \({J(\mathbf{y}):=\min_\mathbf{x}\{f(\mathbf{x},\mathbf{y}): (\mathbf{x},\mathbf{y})\in \mathbf{\Delta}\}}\). The polynomial \({J_i\in\mathbb{R}[\mathbf{y}]}\) is obtained from an optimal (or nearly optimal) solution of a semidefinite program, the ith in the “joint + marginal” hierarchy of semidefinite relaxations associated with the parametric optimization problem \({\mathbf{y}\mapsto J(\mathbf{y})}\), recently proposed in Lasserre (SIAM J Optim 20, 1995-2022, 2010). Then for fixed i, we consider the polynomial optimization problem \({J^*_i:=\max\nolimits_{\mathbf{y}}\{J_i(\mathbf{y}):\mathbf{y}\in{\Omega}\}}\) and prove that \({\hat{J}^*_i(:=\displaystyle\max\nolimits_{\ell=1,\ldots,i}J^*_\ell)}\) converges to J* as i → ∞. Finally, for fixed ? ≤ i, each \({J^*_\ell}\) (and hence \({\hat{J}^*_i}\)) can be approximated by solving a hierarchy of semidefinite relaxations as already described in Lasserre (SIAM J Optim 11, 796–817, 2001; Moments, Positive Polynomials and Their Applications. Imperial College Press, London 2009).

Let \(q=\text {e}^{2\pi i\tau }, \mathfrak {I}\tau >0\), \(x=\text {e}^{2\pi i{z}}\), \({z}\in \mathbb {C}\), and \((x;q)_\infty =\prod _{n\ge 0}(1-xq^n)\). Let \((q,x)\mapsto ({q_1},{x_1})\) be the classical modular substitution given by the relations \({q_1}=\text {e}^{-2\pi i/\tau }\) and \({x_1}=\text {e}^{2\pi i{z}/{\tau }}\). The main goal of this paper is to give a modular-type representation for the infinite product \((x;q)_\infty \), this means, to compare the function defined by \((x;q)_\infty \) with that given by \(({x_1};{q_1})_\infty \). Inspired by the work (Stieltjes in Collected Papers, Springer, New York, 1993) of Stieltjes on semi-convergent series, we are led to a “closed” analytic formula for the ratio \((x;q)_\infty /({x_1};{q_1})_\infty \) by means of the dilogarithm combined with a Laplace type integral, which admits a divergent series as Taylor expansion at \(\log q=0\). Thus, the function \((x;q)_\infty \) is linked with its modular transform \(({x_1};{q_1})_\infty \) in such an explicit manner that one can directly find the modular formulae known for Dedekind’s Eta function, Jacobi Theta function, and also for certain Lambert series. Moreover, one can remark that our results allow Ramanujan’s formula (Berndt in Ramanujan’s notebooks, Springer, New York, 1994, Entry 6’, p. 268) (see also Ramanujan in Notebook 2, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bombay, 1957, p. 284) to be completed as a convergent expression for the infinite product \((x;q)_\infty \).  相似文献

The Ramanujan sequence \(\{\theta _{n}\}_{n \ge 0}\), defined as \(\theta _{0}= {1}/{2}\), \({n^{n}} \theta _{n}/{n !} = {e^{n}}/{2} - \sum _{k=0}^{n-1} {n^{k}}/{k !}\, \), \(n \ge 1\), has been studied on many occasions and in many different contexts. Adell and Jodrá (Ramanujan J 16:1–5, 2008) and Koumandos (Ramanujan J 30:447–459, 2013) showed, respectively, that the sequences \(\{\theta _{n}\}_{n \ge 0}\) and \(\{4/135 - n \cdot (\theta _{n}- 1/3 )\}_{n \ge 0}\) are completely monotone. In the present paper, we establish that the sequence \(\{(n+1) (\theta _{n}- 1/3 )\}_{n \ge 0}\) is also completely monotone. Furthermore, we prove that the analytic function \((\theta _{1}- 1/3 )^{-1}\sum _{n=1}^{\infty } (\theta _{n}- 1/3 ) z^{n} / n^{\alpha }\) is universally starlike for every \(\alpha \ge 1\) in the slit domain \(\mathbb {C}\setminus [1,\infty )\). This seems to be the first result putting the Ramanujan sequence into the context of analytic univalent functions and is a step towards a previous stronger conjecture, proposed by Ruscheweyh et al. (Israel J Math 171:285–304, 2009), namely that the function \((\theta _{1}- 1/3 )^{-1}\sum _{n=1}^{\infty } (\theta _{n}- 1/3 ) z^{n} \) is universally convex.  相似文献

We show that the heat semigroup is well defined on the Banach space \({\mathcal{X}_{m,\gamma} = \{ \psi:\Omega_m \to \mathbb{R} ;\; |x|^{\gamma +2m}(\prod_{i=1}^m x_i)^{-1}\psi(x) \in L^\infty(\Omega_m)\},}\) \({0 < \gamma < N}\), where \({\Omega_m=\{(x_1,\, x_2,\, \ldots,\, x_N) \in \mathbb{R}^{N};\; x_i > 0,\, 1\leq i\leq m\},}\) \({1\leq m\leq N}\). We then investigate the large time behavior of solutions of the heat equation \({u_{t}-\Delta u=0}\) for t > 0 and \({x \in \Omega_m.}\) Using certain notions from dynamical systems, we show that the large time behavior is related to the spatial asymptotic behavior of its initial value. Since the space \({\mathcal{X}_{m, \gamma}}\) contains highly singular initial data, which can be extended to all of \({\mathbb{R}^{N}}\) by antisymmetry, we also obtain new results on the complexity in the asymptotic behavior of solutions for the heat equation on the whole space.  相似文献
