We consider the positive solutions of the nonlinear eigenvalue problem \(-\Delta _{\mathbb {H}^n} u = \lambda u + u^p, \) with \(p=\frac{n+2}{n-2}\) and \(u \in H_0^1(\Omega ),\) where \(\Omega \) is a geodesic ball of radius \(\theta _1\) on \(\mathbb {H}^n.\) For radial solutions, this equation can be written as an ordinary differential equation having n as a parameter. In this setting, the problem can be extended to consider real values of n. We show that if \(2<n<4\) this problem has a unique positive solution if and only if \(\lambda \in \left( n(n-2)/4 +L^*\,,\, \lambda _1\right) .\) Here \(L^*\) is the first positive value of \(L = -\ell (\ell +1)\) for which a suitably defined associated Legendre function \(P_{\ell }^{-\alpha }(\cosh \theta ) >0\) if \(0 < \theta <\theta _1\) and \(P_{\ell }^{-\alpha }(\cosh \theta _1)=0,\) with \(\alpha = (2-n)/2\).  相似文献

Let \(X=G/P\) be a real projective quadric, where \(G=O(p,\,q)\) and P is a parabolic subgroup of G. Let \((\pi _{\lambda ,\epsilon },\, \mathcal H_{\lambda ,\epsilon })_{ (\lambda ,\epsilon )\in {\mathbb {C}}\times \{\pm \}}\) be the family of (smooth) representations of G induced from the characters of P. For \((\lambda ,\, \epsilon ),\, (\mu ,\, \eta )\in {\mathbb {C}}\times \{\pm \},\) a differential operator \(\mathbf D_{(\mu ,\eta )}^\mathrm{reg}\) on \(X\times X,\) acting G-covariantly from \({\mathcal {H}}_{\lambda ,\epsilon } \otimes {\mathcal {H}}_{\mu , \eta }\) into \({\mathcal {H}}_{\lambda +1,-\epsilon } \otimes {\mathcal {H}}_{\mu +1, -\eta }\) is constructed.  相似文献

Let \(n\ge 3, \Omega \) be a bounded, simply connected and semiconvex domain in \({\mathbb {R}}^n\) and \(L_{\Omega }:=-\Delta +V\) a Schrödinger operator on \(L^2 (\Omega )\) with the Dirichlet boundary condition, where \(\Delta \) denotes the Laplace operator and the potential \(0\le V\) belongs to the reverse Hölder class \(RH_{q_0}({\mathbb {R}}^n)\) for some \(q_0\in (\max \{n/2,2\},\infty ]\). Assume that the growth function \(\varphi :\,{\mathbb {R}}^n\times [0,\infty ) \rightarrow [0,\infty )\) satisfies that \(\varphi (x,\cdot )\) is an Orlicz function and \(\varphi (\cdot ,t)\in {\mathbb {A}}_{\infty }({\mathbb {R}}^n)\) (the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights). Let \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) be the Musielak–Orlicz–Hardy space whose elements are restrictions of elements of the Musielak–Orlicz–Hardy space, associated with \(L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n}:=-\Delta +V\) on \({\mathbb {R}}^n\), to \(\Omega \). In this article, the authors show that the operators \(VL^{-1}_\Omega \) and \(\nabla ^2L^{-1}_\Omega \) are bounded from \(L^1(\Omega )\) to weak-\(L^1(\Omega )\), from \(L^p(\Omega )\) to itself, with \(p\in (1,2]\), and also from \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) to the Musielak–Orlicz space \(L^\varphi (\Omega )\) or to \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) itself. As applications, the boundedness of \(\nabla ^2{\mathbb {G}}_D\) on \(L^p(\Omega )\), with \(p\in (1,2]\), and from \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) to \(L^\varphi (\Omega )\) or to \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) itself is obtained, where \({\mathbb {G}}_D\) denotes the Dirichlet Green operator associated with \(L_\Omega \). All these results are new even for the Hardy space \(H^1_{L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\), which is just \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) with \(\varphi (x,t):=t\) for all \(x\in {\mathbb {R}}^n\) and \(t\in [0,\infty )\).  相似文献

We study the discrete spectrum of the Robin Laplacian \(Q^{\Omega }_\alpha \) in \(L^2(\Omega )\), \(u\mapsto -\Delta u, \quad D_n u=\alpha u \text { on }\partial \Omega \), where \(D_n\) is the outer unit normal derivative and \(\Omega \subset {\mathbb {R}}^{3}\) is a conical domain with a regular cross-section \(\Theta \subset {\mathbb {S}}^2\), n is the outer unit normal, and \(\alpha >0\) is a fixed constant. It is known from previous papers that the bottom of the essential spectrum of \(Q^{\Omega }_\alpha \) is \(-\alpha ^2\) and that the finiteness of the discrete spectrum depends on the geometry of the cross-section. We show that the accumulation of the discrete spectrum of \(Q^\Omega _\alpha \) is determined by the discrete spectrum of an effective Hamiltonian defined on the boundary and far from the origin. By studying this model operator, we prove that the number of eigenvalues of \(Q^{\Omega }_\alpha \) in \((-\infty ,-\alpha ^2-\lambda )\), with \(\lambda >0\), behaves for \(\lambda \rightarrow 0\) as
$$\begin{aligned} \dfrac{\alpha ^2}{8\pi \lambda } \int _{\partial \Theta } \kappa _+(s)^2\mathrm {d}s +o\left( \frac{1}{\lambda }\right) , \end{aligned}$$
where \(\kappa _+\) is the positive part of the geodesic curvature of the cross-section boundary.

Let \(({\mathcal M},g)\) be a smooth compact Riemannian manifold of dimension \(N\ge 2\). We prove the existence of a family \((\Omega _\varepsilon )_{\varepsilon \in (0,\varepsilon _0)}\) of self-Cheeger sets in \(({\mathcal M},g)\). The domains \(\Omega _\varepsilon \subset {\mathcal M}\) are perturbations of geodesic balls of radius \(\varepsilon \) centered at \(p \in {\mathcal M}\), and in particular, if \(p_0\) is a non-degenerate critical point of the scalar curvature of g, then the family \((\partial \Omega _\varepsilon )_{\varepsilon \in (0,\varepsilon _0)}\) constitutes a smooth foliation of a neighborhood of \(p_0\).  相似文献

Let \(v = (v_1, \ldots , v_n)\) be a vector in \(\mathbb {R}^n {\setminus } \{ 0 \}\). Consider the Laplacian on \(\mathbb {R}^n\) with drift \(\Delta _{v} = \sum _{i = 1}^n \Big ( \frac{\partial ^2}{\partial x_i^2} + 2 v_i \frac{\partial }{\partial x_i} \Big )\) and the measure \(d\mu (x) = e^{2 \langle v, x \rangle } dx\), with respect to which \(\Delta _{v}\) is self-adjoint. Let d and \(\nabla \) denote the Euclidean distance and the gradient operator on \(\mathbb {R}^n\). Consider the space \((\mathbb {R}^n, d, d\mu )\), which has the property of exponential volume growth. We obtain weak type (1, 1) for the Riesz transform \(\nabla (- \Delta _{v} )^{-\frac{1}{2}}\) and for the heat maximal operator, with respect to \(d\mu \). Further, we prove that the uncentered Hardy–Littlewood maximal operator is bounded on \(L^p\) for \(1 < p \le +\infty \) but not of weak type (1, 1) if \(n \ge 2\).  相似文献

We consider the discrete fractional sequential difference \(\Delta _{1+a-\mu }^{\nu }\Delta _a^{\mu }f(t)\), where \(t\in \mathbb {N}_{3-\mu -\nu +a}\), in two separate cases, where in each case we require that \(\mu +\nu \in (1,2)\). In the first case, we show that when \(\mu \in (0,1)\) and \(\nu \in (1,2)\) it follows that the condition \(\Delta _{1+a-\mu }^{\nu }\Delta _a^{\mu }f(t)\ge 0\) implies that f is an increasing map when we impose that \(f(a)\ge 0\), \(\Delta f(a)\ge 0\), and \(\Delta f(a+1)\ge 0\). On the other hand, when \(\mu \in (1,2)\) and \(\nu \in (0,1)\) we demonstrate that the situation is very different and that this type of monotonicity result only holds when restricted to a proper subregion of the \((\mu ,\nu )\)-parameter space coupled with some additional auxiliary conditions.  相似文献

We extend previous work on standard two-parameter Jordan partitions by Barry (Commun Algebra 43:4231–4246, 2015) to three parameters. Let \(J_r\) denote an \(r \times r\) matrix with minimal polynomial \((t-1)^r\) over a field F of characteristic p. For positive integers \(n_1\), \(n_2\), and \(n_3\) satisfying \(n_1 \le n_2 \le n_3\), the Jordan canonical form of the \(n_1 n_2 n_3 \times n_1 n_2 n_3\) matrix \(J_{n_1} \otimes J_{n_2} \otimes J_{n_3}\) has the form \(J_{\lambda _1} \oplus J_{\lambda _2} \oplus \cdots \oplus J_{\lambda _m}\) where \(\lambda _1 \ge \lambda _2 \ge \cdots \ge \lambda _m>0\) and \(\sum _{i=1}^m \lambda _i=n_1 n_2 n_3\). The partition \(\lambda (n_1,n_2,n_3:p)=(\lambda _1, \lambda _2,\ldots , \lambda _m)\) of \(n_1 n_2 n_3\), which depends on \(n_1\), \(n_2\), \(n_3\), and p, will be called a Jordan partition. We will define what we mean by a standard Jordan partition and give necessary and sufficient conditions for its existence.  相似文献

In this paper we propose to develop harmonic analysis on the Poincaré ball \({{\mathbb {B}}_{t}^{n}}\), a model of the \(n\)-dimensional real hyperbolic space. The Poincaré ball \({{\mathbb {B}}_{t}^{n}}\) is the open ball of the Euclidean \(n\)-space \(\mathbb {R}^n\) with radius \(t >0\), centered at the origin of \(\mathbb {R}^n\) and equipped with Möbius addition, thus forming a Möbius gyrogroup where Möbius addition in the ball plays the role of vector addition in \(\mathbb {R}^n.\) For any \(t>0\) and an arbitrary parameter \(\sigma \in \mathbb {R}\) we study the \((\sigma ,t)\)-translation, the \((\sigma ,t)\)-convolution, the eigenfunctions of the \((\sigma ,t)\)-Laplace–Beltrami operator, the \((\sigma ,t)\)-Helgason Fourier transform, its inverse transform and the associated Plancherel’s Theorem, which represent counterparts of standard tools, thus, enabling an effective theory of hyperbolic harmonic analysis. Moreover, when \(t \rightarrow +\infty \) the resulting hyperbolic harmonic analysis on \({{\mathbb {B}}_{t}^{n}}\) tends to the standard Euclidean harmonic analysis on \(\mathbb {R}^n,\) thus unifying hyperbolic and Euclidean harmonic analysis. As an application we construct diffusive wavelets on \({{\mathbb {B}}_{t}^{n}}\).  相似文献

Let k be an integer with \(k\ge 3\) and \(\eta \) be any real number. Suppose that \(\lambda _1, \lambda _2, \lambda _3, \lambda _4, \mu \) are non-zero real numbers, not all of the same sign and \(\lambda _1/\lambda _2\) is irrational. It is proved that the inequality \(|\lambda _1p_1^2+\lambda _2p_2^2+\lambda _3p_3^2+\lambda _4p_4^2+\mu p_5^k+\eta |<(\max \ p_j)^{-\sigma }\) has infinitely many solutions in prime variables \(p_1, p_2, \ldots , p_5\), where \(0<\sigma <\frac{1}{16}\) for \(k=3,\ 0<\sigma <\frac{5}{3k2^k}\) for \(4\le k\le 5\) and \(0<\sigma <\frac{40}{21k2^k}\) for \(k\ge 6\). This gives an improvement of an earlier result.  相似文献

The dynamics of functions \(f_\lambda (z)= \lambda \frac{\mathrm{e}^{z}}{z+1}\ \text{ for }\ z\in \mathbb {C}, \lambda >0\) is studied showing that there exists \(\lambda ^* > 0\) such that the Julia set of \(f_\lambda \) is disconnected for \(0< \lambda < \lambda ^*\) whereas it is the whole Riemann sphere for \(\lambda > \lambda ^*\). Further, for \(0< \lambda < \lambda ^*\), the Julia set is a disjoint union of two topologically and dynamically distinct completely invariant subsets, one of which is totally disconnected. The union of the escaping set and the backward orbit of \(\infty \) is shown to be disconnected for \(0<\lambda < \lambda ^*\) whereas it is connected for \(\lambda > \lambda ^*\). For complex \(\lambda \), it is proved that either all multiply connected Fatou components ultimately land on an attracting or parabolic domain containing the omitted value of the function or the Julia set is connected. In the latter case, the Fatou set can be empty or consists of Siegel disks. All these possibilities are shown to occur for suitable parameters. Meromorphic functions \(E_n(z) =\mathrm{e}^{z}(1+z+\frac{z^2}{2!}+\cdots +\frac{z^n}{n!})^{-1}\), which we call exponential-like, are studied as a generalization of \(f(z)=\frac{\mathrm{e}^{z}}{z+1}\) which is nothing but \(E_1(z)\). This name is justified by showing that \(E_n\) has an omitted value 0 and there are no other finite singular value. In fact, it is shown that there is only one singularity over 0 as well as over \(\infty \) and both are direct. Non-existence of Herman rings are proved for \(\lambda E_n \).  相似文献

We consider the stationary Keller–Segel equation
$$\begin{aligned} {\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} -\Delta v+v=\lambda e^v, \quad v>0 \quad &{} \text {in }\Omega ,\\ \partial _\nu v=0 &{}\text {on } \partial \Omega , \end{array}\right. } \end{aligned}$$
where \(\Omega \) is a ball. In the regime \(\lambda \rightarrow 0\), we study the radial bifurcations and we construct radial solutions by a gluing variational method. For any given \(n\in \mathbb {N}_0\), we build a solution having multiple layers at \(r_1,\ldots ,r_n\) by which we mean that the solutions concentrate on the spheres of radii \(r_i\) as \(\lambda \rightarrow 0\) (for all \(i=1,\ldots ,n\)). A remarkable fact is that, in opposition to previous known results, the layers of the solutions do not accumulate to the boundary of \(\Omega \) as \(\lambda \rightarrow 0\). Instead they satisfy an optimal partition problem in the limit.

A linear complementary-dual (LCD) code C is a linear code whose dual code \(C^{\perp }\) satisfies \(C \cap C^{\perp }=\{0\}\). In this work we characterize some classes of LCD q-ary \((\lambda , l)\)-quasi-twisted (QT) codes of length \(n=ml\) with \((m,q)=1\), \(\lambda \in F_{q} \setminus \{0\}\) and \(\lambda \ne \lambda ^{-1}\). We show that every \((\lambda ,l)\)-QT code C of length \(n=ml\) with \(dim(C)<m\) or \(dim(C^{\perp })<m\) is an LCD code. A sufficient condition for r-generator QT codes is provided under which they are LCD. We show that every maximal 1-generator \((\lambda ,l)\)-QT code of length \(n=ml\) with \(l>2\) is either an LCD code or a self-orthogonal code and a sufficient condition for this family of codes is given under which such a code C is LCD. Also it is shown that every maximal 1-generator \((\lambda ,2)\)-QT code is LCD. Several good and optimal LCD QT codes are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish a multiplicity result of nontrivial weak solutions for the problem \((-\Delta )^{\alpha } u +u= h(u)\)    in \(\Omega _{\lambda }\), \(u=0\)    on \(\partial \Omega _{\lambda }\), where \(\Omega _{\lambda }=\lambda \Omega \), \(\Omega \) is a smooth and bounded domain in \({\mathbb {R}}^N, N>2\alpha \), \(\lambda \) is a positive parameter, \(\alpha \in (0,1)\), \((-\Delta )^{\alpha }\) is the fractional Laplacian and the nonlinear term h(u) has subcritical growth. We use minimax methods, the Ljusternick–Schnirelmann and Morse theories to get multiplicity results depending on the topology of \(\Omega \).  相似文献

The first main theorem of this paper asserts that any \((\sigma , \tau )\)-derivation d, under certain conditions, either is a \(\sigma \)-derivation or is a scalar multiple of (\(\sigma - \tau \)), i.e. \(d = \lambda (\sigma - \tau )\) for some \(\lambda \in \mathbb {C} \backslash \{0\}\). By using this characterization, we achieve a result concerning the automatic continuity of \((\sigma , \tau \))-derivations on Banach algebras which reads as follows. Let \(\mathcal {A}\) be a unital, commutative, semi-simple Banach algebra, and let \(\sigma , \tau : \mathcal {A} \rightarrow \mathcal {A}\) be two distinct endomorphisms such that \(\varphi \sigma (\mathbf e )\) and \(\varphi \tau (\mathbf e )\) are non-zero complex numbers for all \(\varphi \in \Phi _\mathcal {A}\). If \(d : \mathcal {A} \rightarrow \mathcal {A}\) is a \((\sigma , \tau )\)-derivation such that \(\varphi d\) is a non-zero linear functional for every \(\varphi \in \Phi _\mathcal {A}\), then d is automatically continuous. As another objective of this research, we prove that if \(\mathfrak {M}\) is a commutative von Neumann algebra and \(\sigma :\mathfrak {M} \rightarrow \mathfrak {M}\) is an endomorphism, then every Jordan \(\sigma \)-derivation \(d:\mathfrak {M} \rightarrow \mathfrak {M}\) is identically zero.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of nontrivial solution to a quasi-linear problem where \( (-\Delta )_{p}^{s} u(x)=2\lim \nolimits _{\epsilon \rightarrow 0}\int _{\mathbb {R}^N \backslash B_{\varepsilon }(X)} \frac{|u(x)-u(y)|^{p-2} (u(x)-u(y))}{| x-y | ^{N+sp}}dy, \) \( x\in \mathbb {R}^N\) is a nonlocal and nonlinear operator and \( p\in (1,\infty )\), \( s \in (0,1) \), \( \lambda \in \mathbb {R} \), \( \Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^N (N\ge 2)\) is a bounded domain which smooth boundary \(\partial \Omega \). Using the variational methods based on the critical points theory, together with truncation and comparison techniques, we show that there exists a critical value \(\lambda _{*}>0\) of the parameter, such that if \(\lambda >\lambda _{*}\), the problem \((P)_{\lambda }\) has at least two positive solutions, if \(\lambda =\lambda _{*}\), the problem \((P)_{\lambda }\) has at least one positive solution and it has no positive solution if \(\lambda \in (0,\lambda _{*})\). Finally, we show that for all \(\lambda \ge \lambda _{*}\), the problem \((P)_{\lambda }\) has a smallest positive solution.

We consider random matrices of the form \(H = W + \lambda V, \lambda \in {\mathbb {R}}^+\), where \(W\) is a real symmetric or complex Hermitian Wigner matrix of size \(N\) and \(V\) is a real bounded diagonal random matrix of size \(N\) with i.i.d. entries that are independent of \(W\). We assume subexponential decay of the distribution of the matrix entries of \(W\) and we choose \(\lambda \sim 1\), so that the eigenvalues of \(W\) and \(\lambda V\) are typically of the same order. Further, we assume that the density of the entries of \(V\) is supported on a single interval and is convex near the edges of its support. In this paper we prove that there is \(\lambda _+\in {\mathbb {R}}^+\) such that the largest eigenvalues of \(H\) are in the limit of large \(N\) determined by the order statistics of \(V\) for \(\lambda >\lambda _+\). In particular, the largest eigenvalue of \(H\) has a Weibull distribution in the limit \(N\rightarrow \infty \) if \(\lambda >\lambda _+\). Moreover, for \(N\) sufficiently large, we show that the eigenvectors associated to the largest eigenvalues are partially localized for \(\lambda >\lambda _+\), while they are completely delocalized for \(\lambda <\lambda _+\). Similar results hold for the lowest eigenvalues.  相似文献

We study the following elliptic problem \(-A(u) = \lambda u^q\) with Dirichlet boundary conditions, where \(A(u) (x) = \Delta u (x) \chi _{D_1} (x)+ \Delta _p u(x) \chi _{D_2}(x)\) is the Laplacian in one part of the domain, \(D_1\), and the p-Laplacian (with \(p>2\)) in the rest of the domain, \(D_2 \). We show that this problem exhibits a concave–convex nature for \(1<q<p-1\). In fact, we prove that there exists a positive value \(\lambda ^*\) such that the problem has no positive solution for \(\lambda > \lambda ^*\) and a minimal positive solution for \(0<\lambda < \lambda ^*\). If in addition we assume that p is subcritical, that is, \(p<2N/(N-2)\) then there are at least two positive solutions for almost every \(0<\lambda < \lambda ^*\), the first one (that exists for all \(0<\lambda < \lambda ^*\)) is obtained minimizing a suitable functional and the second one (that is proven to exist for almost every \(0<\lambda < \lambda ^*\)) comes from an appropriate (and delicate) mountain pass argument.  相似文献

By using a sequence \(\lambda _{n}>0\), \(n\in \mathbb {N}\) with the property that \(\lambda _{n}\rightarrow 0\) as fast we want, in this paper we obtain the approximation order \(O(\lambda _{n})\) for a generalized Baskakov–Faber operator attached to analytic functions of exponential growth in a continuum \(G\subset \mathbb {C}\). Several concrete examples of continuums G are given for which this operator can explicitly be constructed.  相似文献

We consider the following fractional \( p \& q\) Laplacian problem with critical Sobolev–Hardy exponents
$$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} (-\Delta )^{s}_{p} u + (-\Delta )^{s}_{q} u = \frac{|u|^{p^{*}_{s}(\alpha )-2}u}{|x|^{\alpha }}+ \lambda f(x, u) &{} \text{ in } \Omega \\ u=0 &{} \text{ in } \mathbb {R}^{N}{\setminus } \Omega , \end{array} \right. \end{aligned}$$
where \(0<s<1\), \(1\le q<p<\frac{N}{s}\), \((-\Delta )^{s}_{r}\), with \(r\in \{p,q\}\), is the fractional r-Laplacian operator, \(\lambda \) is a positive parameter, \(\Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^{N}\) is an open bounded domain with smooth boundary, \(0\le \alpha <sp\), and \(p^{*}_{s}(\alpha )=\frac{p(N-\alpha )}{N-sp}\) is the so-called Hardy–Sobolev critical exponent. Using concentration-compactness principle and the mountain pass lemma due to Kajikiya [23], we show the existence of infinitely many solutions which tend to be zero provided that \(\lambda \) belongs to a suitable range.
