In this paper, we investigate the global stability and the periodic nature of solutions of the difference equation $y_{n + 1} = \frac{{\alpha + y_n^p }} {{\beta y_{n - 1}^p }} - \frac{{\gamma + y_{n - 1}^p }} {{\beta y_n^p }},n = 0,1,2,... $ where α, β, γ ∈ (0,∞), α(1 ? p) ? γ > 0, 0 < p < 1, every y n ≠ 0 for n = ?1, 0, 1, 2, … and the initial conditions y?1, y0 are arbitrary positive real numbers. We show that the equilibrium point of the difference equation is a global attractor with a basin that depends on the conditions of the coefficients.  相似文献

We find a Simons type formula for submanifolds with parallel mean curvature vector (pmc submanifolds) in product spaces M n (c)×?, where M n (c) is a space form with constant sectional curvature c, and then we use it to prove a gap theorem for the mean curvature of certain complete proper-biharmonic pmc submanifolds, and classify proper-biharmonic pmc surfaces in $\mathbb{S}^{n}(c)\times\mathbb{R}$ .  相似文献

In the paper we discuss the following type congruences: $$\left( {_{mp^k }^{np^k } } \right) \equiv \left( {_m^n } \right)(\bmod p^r ),$$ where p is a prime, n, m, k and r are various positive integers with n ? m ? 1, k ? 1 and r ? 1. Given positive integers k and r, denote by W(k, r) the set of all primes p such that the above congruence holds for every pair of integers n ? m ? 1. Using Ljunggren’s and Jacobsthal’s type congruences, we establish several characterizations of sets W(k, r) and inclusion relations between them for various values k and r. In particular, we prove that W(k + i, r) = W(k ? 1, r) for all k ? 2, i ? 0 and 3 ? r ? 3k, and W(k, r) = W(1, r) for all 3 ? r ? 6 and k ? 2. We also noticed that some of these properties may be used for computational purposes related to congruences given above.  相似文献

The special case when $m = 1, r = 2, \{A_{n}\}^{+\infty}_{ n=0}$ is a periodic sequence with period k and A n ??(0,1) for every n??0 has been completely investigated by Y.?Chen. We give some general results on proper-biharmonic submanifolds of a complex space form and, in particular, of the complex projective space. These results are mainly concerned with submanifolds with constant mean curvature or parallel mean curvature vector field. We find the relation between the bitension field of the inclusion of a submanifold [`(M)]{\bar{M}} in \mathbbCPn{\mathbb{C}P^n} and the bitension field of the inclusion of the corresponding Hopf-tube in \mathbbS2n+1{\mathbb{S}^{2n+1}}. Using this relation we produce new families of proper-biharmonic submanifolds of \mathbbCPn{\mathbb{C}P^n}. We study the geometry of biharmonic curves of \mathbbCPn{\mathbb{C}P^n} and we characterize the proper-biharmonic curves in terms of their curvatures and complex torsions.  相似文献

Consider the sequence of algebraic integers un given by the starting values u0 = 0, u1 = 1 and the recurrence \(u_{n+1}=(4\rm{cos}^2(2\pi/7)-1)\it{u}_{n}-u_{n-\rm{1}}\). We prove that for any n ? {1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 12, 18, 28, 30} the n-th term of the sequence has a primitive divisor in \(\mathbb{Z}[2\rm{cos}(2\pi/7)]\). As a consequence we deduce that for any suffciently large n there exists a prime power q such that the group PSL2(q) can be generated by a pair x, y with \(x^2=y^3=(xy)^7=1\) and the order of the commutator [x, y] is exactly n.
