This article extends the notion of isotone projection cones to generalized isotone projection cones by replacing the usual metric projection with a generalized one. It is shown that all such cones are simplicial.  相似文献

Efficient, weakly and properly Pareto optimal solutions of multiobjective optimization problems can be characterized with the help of different cones. Here, contingent, tangent and normal cones as well as cones of feasible directions are used in the characterizations. One of the popular solution methods for the complementarity problem over symmetric cones is to reformulate it as the global minimization of a certain merit function. An important question to be answered for this class of methods is under what conditions the level sets of the merit function are bounded (the coerciveness of the merit function). In this paper, we introduce the generalized weak-coerciveness of a continuous transformation. Under this condition, we prove the coerciveness of some merit functions, such as the natural residual function, the normal map, and the Fukushima-Yamashita function for complementarity problems over symmetric cones. We note that this is a much milder condition than strong monotonicity, used in the current literature.  相似文献

The subdual latticial cones in Hilbert spaces are characterized by the isotonicity of a generalization of the positive part mapping which can be expressed in terms of the metric projection only. Although Németh characterized the positive cone of Hilbert lattices with the metric projection and ordering only [A.B. Németh, Characterization of a Hilbert vector lattice by the metric projection onto its positive cone, J. Approx. Theory 123 (2) (2003), pp. 295–299.], this has been done for the first time for subdual latticial cones in this article. We also note that the normal generating pointed closed convex cones for which the projection onto the cone is isotone are subdual latticial cones, but there are subdual latticial cones for which the metric projection onto the cone is not isotone [G. We discuss a conjecture of Ólafsson and Pasquale published in (J. Funct. Anal. 181 (2001) 346). This conjecture gives the Bernstein-Sato polynomial associated with the Poisson kernel of the ordered (or non-compactly causal) symmetric spaces. The Bernstein-Sato polynomials allow to locate the singularities of the spherical functions on the considered spaces. We prove that this conjecture does not hold in general, and propose a slight improvement of it. Finally, we prove that the new conjecture holds for a class of ordered symmetric spaces, called both the Makarevi? spaces of type I, and the satellite cones.  相似文献

We develop a general framework for linear intersection cuts for convex integer programs with full-dimensional feasible regions by studying integer points of their translated tangent cones, generalizing the idea of Balas (1971). For proper (i.e, full-dimensional, closed, convex, pointed) translated cones with fractional vertices, we show that under certain mild conditions all intersection cuts are indeed valid for the integer hull, and a large class of valid inequalities for the integer hull are intersection cuts, computable via polyhedral approximations. We also give necessary conditions for a class of valid inequalities to be tangent halfspaces of the integer hull of proper translated cones. We also show that valid inequalities for non-pointed regular translated cones can be derived as intersection cuts for associated proper translated cones under some mild assumptions.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove equality expression for the contingent cone and the strict normal cone to a set determined by equality and/or inequality constraints at a Fréchet differentiable point. A similar result has appeared before in the literature under the assumption that all the constraint functions are of classC or under the assumption that the functions are strictly differentiable at the point in question. It has been shown by Lemke that if a matrix is copositive plus on n , then feasibility of the corresponding linear complementarity problem implies solvability. In this article we show, under suitable conditions, that feasibility of ageneralized linear complementarity problem (i.e., defined over a more general closed convex cone in a real Hilbert space) implies solvability whenever the operator is copositive plus on that cone. We show that among all closed convex cones in a finite dimensional real Hilbert Space, polyhedral cones are theonly ones with the property that every copositive plus, feasible GLCP is solvable. Trade-off information related to Pareto optimal solutions is important in multiobjective optimization problems with conflicting objectives. Recently, the concept of trade-off directions has been introduced for convex problems. These trade-offs are characterized with the help of tangent cones. Generalized trade-off directions for nonconvex problems can be defined by replacing convex tangent cones with nonconvex contingent cones. Here we study how the convex concepts and results can be generalized into a nonconvex case. Giving up convexity naturally means that we need local instead of global analysis.
