The following result is proved: Let be a n-dimensional C1-submanifold of RN which is domain of a given nRN-valued map of class C1. Then the set of all points P such that (P) is non-zero, simple and enveloped by TP is C2-rectifiable. As a corollary we get a criterion for the C2-rectifiability of a rectifiable set based on the rectifiability of some generalized Gauss lift to the Grassmanian bundle RN×G(N,n). In this paper, we reformulate the Euler-Lagrange equations of Willmore surfaces in S^n as the flatness of a family of certain loop algebra-valued 1-forms. Therefore we can give the Weierstrass type representation of conformal Willmore surfaces. We also discuss the relations between conformal Willmore surfaces in S^n and minimal surfaces in constant curvature spaces S^n, R^n, H^n, and prove that some special Willmore surfaces can be derived from minimal surfaces in S^n, R^n, H^n.  相似文献

In this paper, we give the eigenvalues of the manifold Sp(n)/U(n). We prove that an eigenvalue λ s (f 2, f 2, …, f n ) of the Lie group Sp(n), corresponding to the representation with label (f 1, f 2, ..., f n ), is an eigenvalue of the manifold Sp(n)/U(n), if and only if f 1, f 2, …, f n are all even.  相似文献

The C*-simplicity of n-periodic products is proved for a large class of groups. In particular, the n-periodic products of any finite or cyclic groups (including the free Burnside groups) are C*-simple. Continuum-many nonisomorphic 3-generated nonsimple C*-simple groups are constructed in each of which the identity xn = 1 holds, where n ≥ 1003 is any odd number. The problem of the existence of C*-simple groups without free subgroups of rank 2 was posed by de la Harpe in 2007.  相似文献

Suppose that D is a bounded domain with a piecewise C^1 smooth boundary in C^n. Let ψ∈C^1 α(δD). By using the Hadamard principal value of the higher order singular integral and solid angle coefficient method of points on the boundary, we give the Plemelj formula of the higher order singular integral with the Boehner-Martinelli kernel, which has integral density ψ. Moreover, by means of the Plemelj formula and methods of complex partial differential equations, we discuss the corresponding Cauehy boundary value problem with the Boehner-Martinelli kernel on a closed piecewise smooth manifold and obtain its unique branch complex harmonic solution.  相似文献

We discuss how one can use certain filters from signal processing to describe isomorphisms between certain projective C(T n )-modules. Conversely, we show how cancellation properties for finitely generated projective modules over C(T n ) can often be used to prove the existence of continuous high pass filters, of the kind needed for multivariate wavelets, corresponding to a given continuous low-pass filter. However, we also give an example of a continuous low-pass filter for which it is impossible to find corresponding continuous high-pass filters. In this way we give another approach to the solution of the matrix completion problem for filters of the kind arising in wavelet theory.  相似文献

In this paper we consider n-poised planar node sets, as well as more special ones, called G C n sets. For the latter sets each n-fundamental polynomial is a product of n linear factors as it always holds in the univariate case. A line ? is called k-node line for a node set \(\mathcal X\) if it passes through exactly k nodes. An (n + 1)-node line is called maximal line. In 1982 M. Gasca and J. I. Maeztu conjectured that every G C n set possesses necessarily a maximal line. Till now the conjecture is confirmed to be true for n ≤ 5. It is well-known that any maximal line M of \(\mathcal X\) is used by each node in \(\mathcal X\setminus M, \)meaning that it is a factor of the fundamental polynomial. In this paper we prove, in particular, that if the Gasca-Maeztu conjecture is true then any n-node line of G C n set \(\mathcal {X}\) is used either by exactly \(\binom {n}{2}\) nodes or by exactly \(\binom {n-1}{2}\) nodes. We prove also similar statements concerning n-node or (n ? 1)-node lines in more general n-poised sets. This is a new phenomenon in n-poised and G C n sets. At the end we present a conjecture concerning any k-node line.  相似文献

The main result of this paper is a bi-parameter Tb theorem for Littlewood–Paley g-function, where b is a tensor product of two pseudo-accretive function. Instead of the doubling measure, we work with a product measure μ = μn × μm, where the measures μn and μm are only assumed to be upper doubling. The main techniques of the proof include a bi-parameter b-adapted Haar function decomposition and an averaging identity over good double Whitney regions. Moreover, the non-homogeneous analysis and probabilistic methods are used again.  相似文献

We introduce n-abelian and n-exact categories, these are analogs of abelian and exact categories from the point of view of higher homological algebra. We show that n-cluster-tilting subcategories of abelian (resp. exact) categories are n-abelian (resp. n-exact). These results allow to construct several examples of n-abelian and n-exact categories. Conversely, we prove that n-abelian categories satisfying certain mild assumptions can be realized as n-cluster-tilting subcategories of abelian categories. In analogy with a classical result of Happel, we show that the stable category of a Frobenius n-exact category has a natural \((n+2)\)-angulated structure in the sense of Geiß–Keller–Oppermann. We give several examples of n-abelian and n-exact categories which have appeared in representation theory, commutative algebra, commutative and non-commutative algebraic geometry.  相似文献

Roughly speaking, an ideal immersion of a Riemannian manifold into a space form is an isometric immersion which produces the least possible amount of tension from the ambient space at each point of the submanifold. We define K-homology groups K * () for small C * -categories in terms of Hilbert modules over the C * -category . We also define a functor A f from the category of small C * -categories into the category of C * -algebras and show that there is a natural isomorphism . In addition, we give an easy construction of a functor from the category of C * -algebras into the category of symmetric spectra which represents K-homology, i.e. we show that the functor comes with a natural isomorphism for C * -algebras A. It then follows that the composition A f provides a functor that can be used in the Davis-Lück approach for constructing the Baum-Connes map.  相似文献
