In this work, we consider the propagation of elastic waves outside a (compact) obstacle with smooth boundary. Existence, uniqueness results for the solution are established in a simple way. We study the meromorphic continuation to the whole complex plane of the solution. A proof alternative of the existence of resonant frequencies is given.  相似文献

In this paper, we use the Bloch wave method to study the asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Laplace equation in a periodically perforated domain, under a non-homogeneous Neumann condition on the boundary of the holes, as the size of the holes goes to zero more rapidly than the domain period. This method allows to prove that, when the hole size exceeds a given threshold, the non-homogeneous boundary condition generates an additional term in the homogenized problem, commonly referred to as “the strange term” in the literature.  相似文献

Concrete forms of resonant response (ER) for a strong electromagnetic (EM) wave beam (photon flux) propagating in a static magnetic field to a standing gravitational wave (gravitons) are given, and the corresponding perturbation solutions and resonant conditions are obtained. It is found that perturbed EM fields (PEMFs) contain three new components with frequencies Io,* w,l and ωPg respectively. In the case of ωe⋙ωg, the PEMFs are manifested as the EM wave beams with frequency ωe and a standing EM wave with ωg. The former and the background EM wave beam (BE-MWB) have the same propagating direction, while in the case of ωg⋙ωe, all PEMFs are expressed as the standing EM waves with frequency ωg. The resonant response occurs in two cases of ωe = 1/2 ωg andωe, = ωg only. Then not only the first order perturbed energy fluxes (PEFs) propagating in the same and opposite directions of the BEMWB can be generated, but also radial and tangential PEFs which are perpendicular to the above directions can be produced. This effect might provide a new way for the EM detection of the gravitational waves (GWs). Moreover, the possible schemes of displaying perturbed effects induced by the standing GW withh = 10-33 - 10-35 and λg = 0.1 m at the level of the single photon avalanche and in a typicla laboratory dimension are reviewed.  相似文献

A classical stationary Boussinesq system with non-homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions in a bounded domain ΩR3 is considered in this paper; included is the case of a possibly disconnected boundary. We prove existence of a weak, a strong and a very weak solution in Lp-theory. Uniqueness of the very weak solution is proved under a small data assumption.  相似文献

The present paper proposes a non-homogeneous multivariate Markov manpower system in the general category of mathematical human resource planning. More specifically, we suggest a model, which takes into account the divisions existing in an organization categorizing its employees into several groups (departments). In this context, it considers not only possible transitions within the departments (intra-department transitions), but also, transfers of personnel between departments (inter-department transitions). Additionally, the proposed modeling structure is accompanied by cost and stocks (personnel) objectives which are set and in the sequel could be achieved by controlling either the recruitment policy or the allocation policy of employees transferred to other departments (or both). We use a minmax fuzzy goal-programming approach, under different operating assumptions, in order to keep the operational cost below desired aspiration levels and reach desirable stock structures in the presence of system’s constraints and regulations. In this paper the Green’s function method and results about fixed point are used to get existence results on periodic traveling wave solution for non-homogeneous problems of generalized versions of the BBM and KdVB equations. It is shown through the constructions of explicit Green’s functions that the periodic boundary value problems for the traveling wave solutions of the BBM and KdVB equations are equivalent to integral equations which generate compact operators in the space of periodic functions. These integral representations allowed us to prove that if the speed of the wave propagation is suitably chosen, then the BBM and KdVB equations will admit periodic traveling wave solution.  相似文献

A study of a class of stochastic hybrid dynamic processes is investigated. The hybrid dynamic process is composed of both continuous and discrete time states. In this work we assume that its continuous time state is driven by the Brownian motion process, while the transitions of its discrete time state are governed by either a non-homogeneous Poisson process or by hitting the boundaries. Under this formulation we develop an infinitesimal generator of the stochastic hybrid dynamic process. Moreover we obtain results concerning the quantitative properties of the solution process. A queueing system with nonidentical service channels, a regenerative input, and a renewal service process at each channel is considered. The ergodic conditions are found when the basic process describing the system (and including the queue-size and the waiting time vector) is regenerative with finite expectation of the regeneration cycle length. The asymptotic properties of the embedded renewal process of the regeneration points are used. The zero-delayed and delayed cases are considered separately. The torsion of an infinite non-homogeneous elastic cylindrical fiber, containing a penny-shaped crack embedded in an infinite non-homogeneous elastic material is considered. The cylinder and elastic medium have different shear moduli. Using integral transformation techniques the solution of the problem is reduced to the solution of dual integral equations. Later on the solution of the dual integral equations is transformed into the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind, which is solved numerically. Closed form expressions are obtained for the stress intensity factor and numerical values for the stress intensity factors are graphed to demonstrate the effect of non-homogeneity of the fiber and infinite medium. In the end the stress singularity is obtained when the crack touches the infinite non-homogeneous medium (matrix).  相似文献

We investigate the problem of linear temporal instability of the modes that satisfy the dyad resonance conditions and the associated nonlinear wave interactions in jets driven by either a constant or a variable external electric field. A mathematical model, which is developed and used for the temporally growing modes with resonance and their nonlinear wave interactions in electrically driven jet flows, leads to equations for the unknown amplitudes of such waves. These equations are solved for both water and glycerol jet cases, and the expressions for the dependent variables of the corresponding modes are determined. The results of the generated data for these dependent variables versus time indicate, in particular, that the instability resulted from the nonlinear interactions of such modes is mostly quite strong but can also lead to significant reduction in the jet radius.  相似文献

The theory of high-frequency waves has been used to calculate first and second-order asymptotic solutions for the propagation of non-linear waves in a cylindrical symmetric flow of an electron plasma. The behaviour of acceleration waves and weak shock waves has been analysed through these solutions and Whitham's rule for a weak shock wave on any wavelet has been confirmed through the first-order solution. The appearance of a weak shock wave on any wavelet has been determined and its strength, the location, and the speed of propagation have been found from the asymptotic solution presented in this paper. © 1997 by B. A non-homogeneous Poisson cluster model is studied, motivated by insurance applications. The Poisson center process which expresses arrival times of claims, triggers off cluster member processes which correspond to number or amount of payments. The cluster member process is an additive process. Given the past observations of the process we consider expected values of future increments and their mean squared errors, aiming at application in claims reserving problems. Our proposed process can cope with non-homogeneous observations such as the seasonality of claims arrival or the reducing property of payment processes, which are unavailable in the former models where both center and member processes are time homogeneous. Hence results presented in this paper are significant extensions toward applications.  相似文献

We employ theH-function in obtaining the formal solution of the partial differential equation $$\frac{{\partial v}}{{\partial t}} = \lambda \frac{\partial }{{\partial u}}\left[ {(1 - u^2 )\frac{{\partial v}}{{\partial t}}} \right]$$ related to a problem of heat conduction by making use of the integral and orthogonality property of the Jacobi polynomials.
