Four new binuclear copper(II) complexes having sub-normal magnetic moment have been synthesized by reaction of N, N′-bis(3-aminopropyl)-oxamidatocopper(II) with another copper(II) compound such as mono- and bis-(2,2′-bipyridine)-copper(II) nitrate, cupric mono-malonate, or cupric chloride. One of them, [Cu2(APxd)(bipy)2](NO3)2(cf. Fig. 2), was recognized to be a binuclear complex in which each copper(II) ion has a five-coordinated environment. The data from analyses, IR and electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and conductivity measurements were used to establish the structures.  相似文献

Summary 2-(2-Pyridyl)-1, 3-propanediol was converted into the diacetate, which was then condensed with phthalimide. The product was hydrolyzed with hydrochloric acid to give 2-(2-pyridyl)-1, 3-diaminopropane. The free amine gave 12 complexes with copper(II), nickel(II), and cobalt(III), which were characterized spectroscopically and magnetically. Features of the amine as a ligand are discussed. A few related complexes were also studied.  相似文献

A new Schiff base was prepared from the reaction of 4,4′‐methylenedianiline with 2‐benzoylpyridine in 1:2 molar ratio, as well as its different metal chelates. The structures of the ligand and its metal complexes were studied by elemental analyses, spectroscopic methods (infrared [IR ], ultraviolet–visible [UV –vis], 1H nuclear magnetic resonance [NMR ], electron spin resonance [ESR ]), magnetic moment measurements, and thermal studies. The ligand acts as tetradentate moiety in all complexes. Octahedral geometry was suggested for Mn(II ), Cu(II ), Cr(III ), and Zn(II ) chloride complexes and pentacoordinated structure and square planar geometry for Co(II ), Ni(II ), Cu(NO3 )2, CuBr2 , and Pd(II ) complexes. ESR spectra of copper(II ) complexes ( 4 )–( 6 ) at room temperature display rhombic symmetry for complex ( 4 ) and axial type symmetry for complexes ( 5 ) and ( 6 ), indicating ground state for Cu(II ) complexes. The derivative thermogravimetric (DTG ) curves of the ligand and its metal complexes were analyzed by using the rate equation to calculate the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters, which indicated strong binding of the ligand with the metal ion in some complexes. Also, some of these compounds were screened to establish their potential as anticancer agents against the human hepatic cell line Hep‐G2 . The obtained IC50 value of the copper(II ) bromide complex (4.34 µg/mL ) is the highest among the compounds studied.  相似文献

Twelve new copper(II) complexes in which N,N′-bis-(2-pyridylmethyl)-oxamidatocopper(II) or N,N′-bis(2-pyridylethyl)-oxamidatocopper(II) coordinates as a bidentate ligand have been isolated and characterized. These complexes have a structure bridged by the oxamide group (including two tetranuclear complexes formed by olation of two binuclear complexes, of. Fig. 1), and possess Cu? Cu interaction resulting in a sub-normal magnetic moment at room temperature. In one of them, [Cu2(PMoxd) (bipy)2] (NO3)2 (cf. Fig. 2), each copper(II) ion has a five-coordinated environment.  相似文献

Complexes of ethylenediamine-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetanilide (edtan, C34H36N6O14) with cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) in the solid state and in solution are reported for the first time. Thermodynamic data (stability constant, and derived Gibbs energy, enthalpy and entropy changes)for the 1 : 1 complexation of edtan with the metal ions at 298.15 K in water-saturated butan-1-ol gave the selectivity sequence log10Ks; Ni2+, 4.56±0.02; Cu2+, 4.41±0.01; Co2+, 4.18±0.04 as found from microcalorimetric titration studies. The entropies suggested that the structure of the 1 : 1 complex with copper(II) contains fewer chelate rings than those for nickel(II) and cobalt(II) (δcS0 : Cu-21.4, Co 5.7, Ni 3.9 J mol−1K−1). Solid complexes of the metal ions with edtan and perchlorate as the counter anion were prepared. For each, a complex with a 1 : 1 metal: edtan stoichiometry with non-coordinated perchlorate was isolated. The X-ray structure of [Cu(edtan)(H2O)][ClO4]2·1.5H2O (1) revealed a six-coordinate Cu centre with edtan acting as pentadentate ligand (2N, 3O) with the coordination sphere completed by an oxygen atom from water. In striking contrast to the Cu complex, the Co centre in [Co(edtan)(H2O)][ClO4]2·H2O·0.5C2H5OH (2) is seven-coordinate with hexadentate edtan (2N, 4O) and one coordinated water molecule. There is thus an excellent confirmation of the results obtained from the microcalometric study in that edtan forms four chelate rings to Cu but five to Co in the solid state. The ability of the ligand to extract metal ions from water to the water-saturated butan-1-ol phase was assessed from distribution data as a function of the aqueous phase hydrogen ion concentration and of the ligand concentration in the organic phase. The data showed that Cu2+ is selectively extracted over a wide range of aqeous phase hydrogen ion concentrations.  相似文献

Summary 2-Pyridylphenylacetonitrile (ppa) is oxidized by copper(II) halides in 1,2-dichloroethane to 1,2-dicyano-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-di(2-pyridyl)ethane (dcppe), yielding 41 complexes of dcppe with copper(II) dihalide, [CuX2(dcppe)4] (green). Nickel(II) and zinc(II) chlorides react with ppa giving complexes of a general formula [MCl2(ppa)2].Dcppe reacts with copper(II), zinc(II) chlorides and copper(II) bromide yielding complexes of formulae [CuCl2(dcppe)4] (yellow), [ZnCl2(dcppe)2] and [CuBr2(dcppe)]. No reaction is observed with cobalt(II) and nickel(II) chlorides.  相似文献

Summary Nickel(II), palladium(II), cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes of the ligandN,N-1,2-propane-bis(methyl 2-amino-cyclopent-1-ene-dithiocarboxylate) (H2L1),N,N-1,3-propane-bis(methyl 2-aminocyclopent-1-ene-dithiocarboxylate) (H2L2) andN,N-[bis(methyl 2-aminocyclopent-1-ene-dithiocarboxylate)] diethylenetriamine (H2L3) have been synthesised. Both H2L1 and H2L2 form complexes of the type ML, and all but the copper(II) complexes, are square planar. In the copper(II) complexes tetrahedral distortion is significantly more with CuL2. From H2L3 square planar complexes of the type [M(HL3)X] (M=Ni, X=Cl, Br, I or SCN; M=Pd, X=Cl or Br) have been obtained in which the donor unit involved is N2SX. The composition of the cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes is [M(H2L3)X2] (X=Cl or Br) which contain the chromophore [MN3X2].  相似文献

The formation of mixed metal complexes between uranium (VI), as the central metal ion, and aluminium (III), indium (III), copper (II), zinc (II) and cadmium (II), as the additional metal ions, with a hydroxycarboxylic acid chosen between citric, tartaric or malic, has been studied using spectrophotometric methods. The effect of pH has been examined, and the results show that at pH=4 stable complexes are formed for most of the systems. At this pH the method of mole ratio and Job's method of continuous variations, were employed to determine the stoichiometry of the mixed metal complexes. Al(III), In(III) and Cu(II) showed a high tendency to form mixed metal complexes with U(VI), while the formation of complexes is uncertain for Cd(II) and Zn(II). The ratio of the ligand to the total metal ion has been found to be 21 and metal:metal ratios of 11 and 12 have been observed.Represents part of the Ph.D. thesis submitted by Emanuel Manzurola to Ben Gurion University of the Negev.  相似文献

Summary The doubly bidentate ON-NO donor Schiff base, prepared from salicylaldehyde and 4,4-diaminodiphenylmethane forms complexes with 11 metal: ligand stoichiometric ratios. The cobalt(II), copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes exhibit subnormal magnetic moments. All the six complexes possess high melting points and are sparingly soluble in common organic solvents. A dinuclear octahedral structure is proposed for the cobalt(II), copper(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes and a dinuclear tetrahedral configuration is suggested for the cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes on the basis of analytical, conductance, magnetic susceptibility, molecular weight, i.r. and electronic spectral data.  相似文献

The formation constants (log K ) of ternary mixed ligand complex formed from 1,10-phenanthroline (A, phen) and N-(p-substituted phenyl) glycines,R NHCH2COOH (B, p RPhG, CH3, H, CL), with copper (II), nickel (II), cobalt (II) and zinc (II) were determined by pH method at 25°C in 30% (V/V) ethanol solution in presence of 0.1 M NaClO4. It was found that linear free energy relationships exist between the stability of M(II)-phen-p-RPhG ternary complex and the base strengths of the ligands p-RPhG, conforming to the equation log K = α pKB +C. The factors influencing the stability of the ternary complex have been discussed. The enhancement of stability of ternary complex was explained in terms of formation of π back bonding between metal ion and the ligand phen. In contrast to the binary system, the ternary ni (II) and zn (II) complexes showed higher stability which could be accounted for by the formation of π back bonding and by intramolecular ligand-ligand interaction, possibly aromatic-ring stacking.  相似文献

Salicylidene-N-anilinoacetohydrazone (H(2)L(1)) and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthylidene-N-anilinoacetohydrazone (H(2)L(2)) and their iron(III), manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by IR, electronic spectra, molar conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities and ESR. Mononuclear complexes are formed with molar ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 (M:L). The IR studies reveal various modes of chelation. The electronic absorption spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the iron(III), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) complexes of H(2)L(1) have octahedral geometry. While the cobalt(II) complexes of H(2)L(2) were separated as tetrahedral structure. The copper(II) complexes have square planar stereochemistry. The ESR parameters of the copper(II) complexes at room temperature were calculated. The g values for copper(II) complexes proved that the Cu-O and Cu-N bonds are of high covalency.  相似文献

A bifunctional polymer is formed when low-molecular-weight poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (I) reacts with 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethyl-4,4′-diphenoquinone (II). Infrared (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and gel permeation chromotography (GPC) measurements indicate that the quinone is bound covalently to the polymer chain as a biphenyl moiety which can be located at a terminal position (III, a = 0) or an internal position (III, a > 0): Acetylation of III produces a diacetate ester characterized by field desorption mass spectrometry to confirm the bifunctional nature of III. The reaction of I with II proceeds at 25°C but is faster at elevated temperatures or with amine catalysis. Oxidation of III with oxygen and a copper/amine catalyst of the type used initially to prepare I regenerates II from the biphenyl moiety in III in high yield and converts the remaining oxyphenylene units to high-molecular-weight polymer.  相似文献

The solution state and thermodynamic stability of complexes of the new antituberculosis agent 1,4-bis(amidomethylsulfinyl)butane (L) with iron(III), copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and manganese(II) in an aqueous solution in the presence and in the absence of the nonionic surfactant Brij 35 were studied by spectrophotometry, pH potentiometry, NMR relaxation technique (T = 25 °C; variable ionic strength), and mathematical simulation. The geometry optimization of all structures was carried out by the molecular mechanics method MM2 in order to obtain data on coordination modes. In addition, the structure of 1,4-bis(amidomethylsulfinyl)butane was refined by the DFT/B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) quantum chemical method using the IEFPCM model to take into account solvent effects. In an aqueous solution (in the concentration range of 1.3?10–5—1?10–3 mol L–1) and in the presence of Brij 35, 1,4-bis(amidomethylsulfinyl)butane exists as a neutral monomer. The Beer—Lambert—Bouguer law is obeyed in a wide concentration range for compound L in an aqueous solution, as well as in the presence of the surfactant, which can be used for the quantification of compound L. Iron(III), cobalt(II), and nickel(II) were shown to form 1: 1 mononuclear complexes with L; and copper(II) forms, 1: 1 and 2: 2 complexes. The presence of Brij 35 in the Cu2+L system at a micellar concentration promotes the formation of a dinuclear complex.  相似文献

New complexes of Rh(III), Ru(II), and Pd(II) with N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine (tpen) and its analogues have been prepared. The reaction of RhCl(3).nH(2)O with tpen is slow and allows one to isolate the products of three consecutive substitution steps: Rh(2)Cl(6)(tpen) (1), cis-[RhCl(2)(eta(4)-tpen)](+) (2), and [RhCl(eta(5)-tpen)](2+) (3). In acetonitrile the reaction stops at the step of the formation of cis-[RhCl(2)(eta(4)-tpen)](+), whereas [RhCl(eta(5)-tpen)](2+) is the final product of the further reaction in ethanol. Fully chelated [Rh(tpen)](3+) could not be obtained. Bis(acetylacetonato)palladium(II), Pd(acac)(2), reacts with tpen and its analogues, N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,3-propanediamine (tptn) and N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-(R)-1,2-propylenediamine (R-tppn), to give [Pd(eta(4)-tpen)](2+) (4), [Pd(eta(4)-tppn)](2+) (5), and [Pd(eta(4)-tptn)](2+) (6), respectively. Two pyridyl arms remain uncoordinated in these cases. The formation of unstable Pd(III) complexes from these Pd(II) complexes in solution was suggested on the basis of electrochemical measurements. Ruthenium(III) trichloride, RuCl(3).nH(2)O, is reduced to give a Ru(II) complex with fully coordinated tpen, [Ru(tpen)](2+) (7). The same product was obtained in a more straightforward reaction of Ru(II)Cl(2)(dimethyl sulfoxide)(4) with tpen. Electrochemical studies showed a quasi-reversible [Ru(tpen)](2+/3+) couple for [7](ClO(4))(2) (E(1/2) = 1.05 V vs Ag/AgCl). Crystal structures of [2](PF(6)).2CH(3)CN, [3](PF(6))(2).CH(3)CN, [6](ClO(4))(2), and [7](ClO(4))(2).0.5H(2)O were determined. Methanobactin (Mb) from Methylosinus trichosporium OB3b is a member of a class of metal binding peptides identified in methanotrophic bacteria. Mb will selectively bind and reduce Cu(II) to Cu(I), and is thought to mediate the acquisition of the copper cofactor for the enzyme methane monooxygenase. These copper chelating properties of Mb make it potentially useful as a chelating agent for treatment of diseases where copper plays a role including Wilson’s disease, cancers, and neurodegenerative diseases. Utilizing traveling wave ion mobility-mass spectrometry (TWIMS), the competition for the Mb copper binding site from Ag(I), Pb(II), Co(II), Fe(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) has been determined by a series of metal ion titrations, pH titrations, and metal ion displacement titrations. The TWIMS analyses allowed for the explicit identification and quantification of all the individual Mb species present during the titrations and measured their collision cross-sections and collision-induced dissociation patterns. The results showed Ag(I) and Ni(II) could irreversibly bind to Mb and not be effectively displaced by Cu(I), whereas Ag(I) could also partially displace Cu(I) from the Mb complex. At pH ≈ 6.5, the Mb binding selectivity follows the order Ag(I)≈Cu(I)>Ni(II)≈Zn(II)>Co(II)>>Mn(II)≈Pb(II)>Fe(II), and at pH 7.5 to 10.4 the order is Ag(I)>Cu(I)>Ni(II)>Co(II)>Zn(II)>Mn(II)≈Pb(II)>Fe(II). Breakdown curves of the disulfide reduced Cu(I) and Ag(I) complexes showed a correlation existed between their relative stability and their compact folded structure indicated by their CCS. Fluorescence spectroscopy, which allowed the determination of the binding constant, compared well with the TWIMS analyses, with the exception of the Ni(II) complex.
