We observed tunable UV radiation down to 175 nm by SRS of the output of a frequency-doubled dye laser in H2. The high power output of the 4th anti-Stokes to 5th Stokes line generated by the frequency doubled dye laser and the 8th anti-Stokes to 3rd Stokes line generated by the undoubled dye laser represents a broadly tunable coherent radiation source between 189 nm and 2064 nm.  相似文献

Using pyronin B and crystal violet dye mixture, the characteristics of energy transfer distributed feedback dye laser (ETDFDL) pumped by 532 nm Nd:YAG laser were investigated. The characteristics of donor DFDL and acceptor DFDL as well as the dependence of their pulse widths and output powers on pump power and acceptor concentrations were studied. The output energy of DFDL was measured at the emission peaks of donor and acceptor dyes for different pump powers and acceptor concentrations, and tunability was observed from 570 to 645 nm using prism dye cell arrangement.  相似文献

Design and performance characteristics of a tunable dye laser system for sum frequency mixing (SFM) in a BBO crystal are presented. The system is composed of two tunable pulsed dye lasers pumped synchronously by the second harmonic of a commercial Nd:YAG laser. The radiation produced by the first dye laser is frequency doubled by second-harmonic generation (SHG) in KDP and subsequently mixed by SFM in BBO with the light of the second dye laser. The interest was focussed on generation of tunable laser radiation below 205 nm with high output power and long-time wavelength stability. High conversion efficiencies enable output energies of 100 J (20 kW) at 196 nm using only moderate Nd:YAG pump energies of 67 mJ. Altogether, a laser system with very good specifications for analytical application in the near VUV spectral region is reported.  相似文献

An efficient nondegenerate four-wave-mixing process in a highly birefringent optical fiber pumped by a dye laser is reported. The output beam from a dye laser (at ~610 nm) was found to mix with the accompanying superfluorescent light (from 575 to 600 nm) in a birefringent fiber to generate a distinct frequency-shifted beam, which could be Stokes or anti-Stokes radiation, depending on which mode of the fiber was excited. The frequency shift was comparable with that observed in the well-known pump-divided degenerate process, as confirmed by the theory.  相似文献

Many aspects of photophysical, photostability and laser properties of kiton red S dye remain unresolved, particularly for pumping with 578 nm radiation of CVL and 532 nm output of Nd:YAG lasers, and these are studied using different alcohol- and water-based binary solvents. Our results show that methanol is better suited for low and high-repetition-rate KRS dye lasers because of its superior laser efficiency, photostability as well as photothermal properties.  相似文献

We report the first realization of a cw solid-state dye laser. The laser medium consists of a laser dye (Rhodamine 6G) dissolved in a photopolymer. The UV-cured solution is sandwiched between two DVD substrates. The resonator design was derived from a conventional liquid solvent dye laser geometry. The laser radiation can be tuned from 565 to 615 nm by using a birefringent filter. A pump power of 2 W leads to a cw output power of more than 20 mW.  相似文献

We have obtained high gain lasing action from a dye in the calss of perylene-tetracarboxylic acid diimides. These dyes have been used in the past as microcrystalline pigments and more recently as molecularly dissolved fluors having both an orange absorption color and orange fluorescence. In dimethylformamide this dye absorbs with a main maximum at 527 nm, well coupled to the exciting radiation from a frequency-doubled YAG exciting laser. The dye lases primarily in the 0′→ 1″ satellite of the fluorescence band from 566–585 nm, with intermittent output pulses to 605 nm. While this dye overlaps the lasing bands of the rhodamine dyes, we believe that it may be considerably more stable than even Rhodamine 6G, the most stable of that class.  相似文献

Tunable solid-state dye laser sample based on modified polymethyl methacrylate (MPMMA) with methanol co-doped with pyrromethene 567 (PM567) and Coumarin 440 (C440) was prepared. Tunable dye laser output wavelength from 546 to 594 nm was obtained in an oscillator-amplifier configuration. With the input seed laser energy being about 1.5 mJ, the highest dye laser output energy reached 113.9 mJ, and the corresponding conversion slope efficiency was 51.39%. To the best of our knowledge, the tuning range and narrow linewidth dye output energy is the best under the same condition so far. The linewidth for the seed laser and amplified laser were measured with the result of less than 0.2 nm. With the amplified medium being pumped at a repetition rate of 10 Hz with a pulse energy as high as 120 mJ (the fluence was 0.42 J/cm2), the laser output energy dropped to half of its initial value after approximate 43000 pulses.  相似文献

4 (KTP) optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) with pump and idler resonant cavities. With a linear two-mirror cavity the pump power at threshold was 70 mW. The single-frequency signal and idler output wavelengths were tuned in the range of 1025 to 1040 nm and 1250 to 1380 nm by tuning the dye laser in the range of 565 to 588 nm. With a dual three-mirror cavity the threshold was 135 mW. Pumped by 500 mW of 578 nm radiation the 1040 nm single-frequency signal wave output power was 84 mW. Power and frequency stable operation with a spectral bandwidth of less than 9 MHz was obtained by piezo-electrically locking the length of the pump resonant cavity to the dye laser wavelength. Similar performance was achieved by placing the idler resonant OPO inside the resonator of the dye laser. With this system power stable and single-frequency operation was achieved with a spectral bandwidth of less than 11 MHz for the idler wave. Construction details and operating characteristics are reported for a pulsed dye laser oscillator followed by a three-stage dye laser amplifier. The system is excited with 220 mJ of the second or120 mJ of the third harmonic radiation of a Nd-YAG laser. With Rhodamine dyes the output energy exceeds 55 mJ (9 MW peak power). Coumarin dyes provide pulses of more than 15 mJ (3 MW). Spectral narrowing to less than 260 MHz or 2.7 × 10 -4 nm at 565 nm is achieved by a single intracavity etalon of 37.5 GHz free spectral range. Gas pressure tuning allows a continuous linear variation of the laser frequency over more than 3.9 × 103 GHz (4 nm at 565 nm). The frequency doubled laser output provides tunable UV light of narrow bandwidth (1.4 × 10-4 nm) and of peak powers exceeding 3 MW.  相似文献

We have generated tunable cw radiation near 243 nm with a linewidth of less than 4 MHz by sum-frequency mixing the 351 nm radiation from an argon-ion laser with the 789 nm radiation from a ring dye laser in a crystal of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate held at moderate temperature. An external ring cavity, resonant with the dye laser, gives a power enhancement of about 12 in the sum-frequency generated radiation. Thermal lensing due to laser heating of the nonlinear crystal, distorded the 351 nm mode structure. This effect could limit the efficiency of the sum frequency mixing process.  相似文献

Laser action in methyl methacrylate(MMA)co-doped with sulforhodamine B and crystal violet dyes was investigated.The dye mixture was incorporated into a solid polymeric matrix and was pumped by a 532-nm Nd:YAG laser.Distributed feedback dye laser(DFDL)action was induced in the dye mixture using a prism arrangement both in the donor and acceptor regions by an energy transfer mechanism.Theoretically,the characteristics of acceptor and donor DFDLs,and the dependence of their pulse widths and output powers on acceptor–donor concentrations and pump power,were studied.Experimentally,the output energy of DFDL was measured at the emission peaks of donor and acceptor dyes for different pump powers and different acceptor–donor concentrations.Tuning of the output wavelength was achieved by varying the period of the gain modulation of the laser medium.The laser wavelength showed continuous tunability from 563 nm to648 nm.  相似文献

设计制作了梳状电极染料掺杂胆甾相液晶激光器件,研究了外加电压下的激光辐射谱。器件的下基板ITO电极刻蚀成梳状条形电极,电极宽度约2 mm,相邻电极间距分别约为1,3,5 mm。上基板无ITO电极。上下基板取向膜平行摩擦取向处理,使胆甾相液晶平面态排列。以532 nm的Nd∶YAG激光器作为泵浦光源,测量器件激光辐射谱。改变外加电压0~100 V,3个区域均出现了多模输出。在1 mm电极间距区域,可获得633.65~621.52 nm(12 nm)和683.15~664.35 nm(18 nm)的可调谐波长范围;在电极间距3,5 mm区域,辐射激光波长变化微小。在外加电压作用下,液晶分子均匀的螺旋周期排列受到扰动,液晶分子层螺旋轴倾斜,各个液晶畴的螺旋轴取向不一致,使有效螺距值缩短并有所浮动,引起出射激光波长蓝移和多模输出。利用光子态密度理论数值模拟了激光辐射谱。当有效螺距为倾斜角的函数时,随着倾斜角增大出射激光波长蓝移。  相似文献

The generation of tunable UV radiation in the 280–310 nm range by doubling the output frequency of a flashlamp-excited Rhodamine 6 G dye laser is described. We report a technique for the efficient generation of tunable coherent deep UV radiation and its application in studies of RDX and TNT at the ppm level on the basis of their absorption characteristics. The obtained experimental absorption data are compared with conventional spectrophotometric data. The UV radiation in the range 200–260 nm has been generated by the type-I noncollinear third harmonic of the dye laser radiation (600–700 nm) and also by sum frequency mixing (SFM) of Nd:YAG output (1064 nm) with the second harmonic of the dye laser in β-barium borate (BBO) crystal. The maximum conversion efficiency of the generated signal is estimated to be 57.5% at λ = 218.9 nm wavelength. Apart from measurements of the absorbance of RDX and TNT at different concentrations in their respective solutions, the minimum detection concentrations have also been ascertained. The estimated minimum detectable concentration of RDX is 8.47·10−9 M, whereas that for TNT is 35.7·10−9 M. The data were obtained using only ∼100 μJ/pulse of laser energy. We report on the operation of a rhodamine 6G cw dye laser involving a simple tuning mechanism capable of achieving high output powers (~500 mW) and resolving power (0.004 nm) close to the Doppler limit for a range of light gases. The system employs a 600 line/mm diffraction grating external to, but coupled with a high Q laser cavity; continuous tuning over 50 nm of the fluorescence spectrum of the dye was obtained.  相似文献

用Nd:YAG532nm激光泵浦的混合染料激光得到了在相当于铜蒸气激光器泵浦染料激光的某个波段上增强的激光输出,测得了铀原子在562-586nm波段内的单色三光子共振电离谱中140个能级,其中575.814和575.836nm两个峰很好地分开了,它们的相对强度也能测定,若用单一染料的激光是难以做到,因为目前尚无合适的染料在上述波段内能有强的激光输出。  相似文献

A high repetition rate, tunable dye laser suffers from thermal and flow field-induced inhomogeneity inside the laser-active zone of the dye solution, and shows a significant disparity in the spectral characteristics. The thermo-optical distortion developed in the lasing medium of dye solution, under high repetition rate pumping, perturbs the dynamics of the medium. The microstructures of the flow field in the hydrodynamic boundary layer, which are responsible for heat transfer, optical path length modulation, and divergence of the seeding radiation, transform the output characteristics of dye laser. The structure function, which represents the intensity of flow velocity fluctuations, and the eddy diffusivity of fluid flow help in design and development of a high-power tunable dye laser.  相似文献
