We give a brief review of SU(2|1) supersymmetric quantum mechanics based on the worldline realizations of the supergroup SU(2|1) in the appropriate N = 4, d = 1 superspaces. The corresponding SU(2|1) models are deformations of standard N = 4, d = 1 models by a mass parameter m.  相似文献

In this review, we consider an N = 4 supersymmetric SU(3N) gauge theory defined on the Minkowski spacetime. Then we apply an orbifold projection leading to an N = 1 supersymmetric SU(N)3 model, with a truncated particle spectrum. Then, we present the dynamical generation of (twisted) fuzzy spheres as vacuum solutions of the projected field theory, breaking the SU(N)3 spontaneously to a chiral effective theory with unbroken gauge group the trinification group, SU(3)3.  相似文献

It is shown how the static-gauge world-volume superfield actions of diverse superbranes on the AdSd+1 superbackgrounds can be systematically derived from nonlinear realizations of the appropriate AdS supersymmetries. The latter are treated as superconformal symmetries of flat Minkowski superspaces of the bosonic dimension d. Examples include the N = 1 AdS4 supermembrane, which is associated with the 1/2 partial breaking of the OSp(1|4) supersymmetry down to the N = 1, d = 3 Poincaré supersymmetry, and the T-duality related L3-brane on AdS5 and scalar 3-brane on AdS5 × S1, which are associated with two different patterns of 1/2 breaking of the SU(2, 2|1) supersymmetry. Another (closely related) topic is the AdS/CFT equivalence transformation. It maps the world-volume actions of the codimension-one AdSd+1 (super)branes onto the actions of the appropriate Minkowski (super)conformal field theories in the dimension d.  相似文献

Various non-leptonic decay modes of baryons are calculated in a simple quark model. Form factors for various matrix elements are taken both from experiment and the quark model. Additionally theK→2π andK→3π decay modes are computed in the same model. The theory has theΔ I=1/2 rule and static SU6 built-in. A relation between the +N + π + decay, not calculable in the model, and theK→3π decay is given via an effective six quark interaction. Agreement with experiment is order of magnitude for the baryonic decays and worse for theK decays.  相似文献

Dirac monopoles embedded in SU(N) gauge theory with the θ term are considered. For θ=4πM (where M is half-integer and integer for N=2 and N>2, respectively), these monopoles acquire an SU(N) charge due to the θ term and become dyons. They belong to various (but not any) irreducible representations of the SU(N) group. The admissible representations are listed. Their minimum dimension increases with N. The basic result of the study is the representation of the partition function of any SU(N) model involving the θ term and complemented by singular gauge fields corresponding to the indicated monopoles in the form of a vacuum average of the product of Wilson loops viewed along the world lines of the monopoles. This vacuum average must be calculated in the corresponding model without the θ term.  相似文献

With the non-Abelian hyper-Kähler quotient by U(M) and SU(M) gauge groups, we give the massive hyper-Kähler sigma models that are not toric in the N=1 superfield formalism. The U(M) quotient gives N!/[M!(N-M)!] (N is the number of flavors) discrete vacua that may allow various types of domain walls, whereas the SU(M) quotient gives no discrete vacua. We derive a BPS domain-wall solution in the case of N = 2 and M = 1 in the U(M) quotient model.  相似文献

We use inelastic neutron scattering to study the low-energy spin excitations of polycrystalline samples of nonsuperconducting CeFeAsO and superconducting CeFeAsO0.84F0.16. Two sharp dispersionless modes are found at 0.85 and 1.16 meV in CeFeAsO below the Ce antiferromagnetic (AF) ordering temperature of T N Ce ? 4 K. On warming to above T N Ce ? 4 K, these two modes become one broad dispersionless mode that disappears just above the Fe ordering temperature T N Fe ? 140 K. For superconducting CeFeAsO0.84F0.16, where Fe static AF order is suppressed, we find a weakly dispersive mode center at 0.4 meV that may arise from short-range Ce-Ce exchange interactions. Using a Heisenberg model, we simulate powder-averaged Ce spin wave excitations. Our results show that we need both Ce spin wave and crystal electric field excitations to account for the whole spectra of low-energy spin excitations.  相似文献

We review the current state of research on the construction of effective actions in supersymmetric quantum field theory. Special attention is paid to gauge models with extended supersymmetry in the superfield approach. The advantages of formulation of such models in harmonic superspace for the calculation of effective action are emphasized. Manifestly supersymmetric and manifestly gauge-invariant methods for constructing the low-energy effective actions and deriving the corrections to them are considered and the possibilities to obtain the exact solutions are discussed. The calculations of one-loop effective actions in N = 2 supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory with hypermultiplets and in N = 4 supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory are analyzed in detail. The relationship between the effective action in supersymmetric quantum field theory and the low-energy limit in superstring theory is discussed.  相似文献

We discuss the entanglement properties of two qubits in terms of polynomial invariants of the adjoint action of SU(2) ⊕ SU(2) group on the space of density matrices \(\mathfrak{P}_ +\). Since elements of \(\mathfrak{P}_ +\) are Hermitian, non-negative fourth-order matrices with unit trace, the space of density matrices represents a semi-algebraic subset, \(\mathfrak{P}_ + \in \mathbb{R}^{15}\). We define \(\mathfrak{P}_ +\) explicitly with the aid of polynomial inequalities in the Casimir operators of the enveloping algebra of SU(4) group. Using this result the optimal integrity basis for polynomial SU(2) ⊕ SU(2) invariants is proposed and the well-known Peres-Horodecki separability criterion for 2-qubit density matrices is given in the form of polynomial inequalities in three SU(4) Casimir invariants and two SU(2) ⊕ SU(2) scalars; namely, determinants of the so-called correlation and the Schlienz-Mahler entanglement matrices.  相似文献

String-loop corrections to magnetic black holes are studied. 4D effective action is obtained by compactification of the heterotic string theory on the manifold KT2 or on a suitable orbifold yielding N=1 supersymmetry in 6D. In the resulting 4D theory with N=2 local supersymmetry, the prepotential receives only one-string-loop perturbative correction. The loop-corrected black hole is obtained in two approaches: (i) by solving the system of the Einstein-Maxwell equations of motion derived from the loop-corrected effective action and (ii) by solving the system of spinor Killing equations (conditions for the supersymmetry variations of the fermions to vanish) and Maxwell equations. We consider a particular tree-level solution with the magnetic charges adjusted so that the moduli connected with the metric of the internal two-torus are constant. In this case, the loop correction to the prepotential is independent of coordinates, and it is possible to solve the system of the Einstein-Maxwell and spinor Killing equations in the first order in string coupling analytically. The set of supersymmetric solutions of the loop-corrected spinor Killing equations is contained in a larger set of solutions of the equations of motion derived from the string-loop-corrected effective action. Loop corrections to the metric and dilaton are large at small distances from the center of the black hole.  相似文献

This paper presents the two body weak nonleptonic decays of B-mesons emitting vector (V) and vector (V) mesons within the framework of the diagrammatic approaches at flavor SU(3) symmetry. We have investigated exclusive two body decays of B-meson using model independent quark diagram scheme. We have shown that the recent measurement of the two body exclusive decays of B-mesons can allow us to determine the magnitude and even sign of the QD amplitude for BVV decays. Therefore, we become able to make few predictions for their branching fractions.  相似文献

Let M be a six dimensional manifold, endowed with a cohomogeneity one action of G = SU2 × SU2, and \({M_{\rm reg} \subset M}\) its subset of regular points. We show that M reg admits a smooth, 2-parameter family of G-invariant, non-isometric strict nearly Kähler structures and that a 1-parameter subfamily of such structures smoothly extends over a singular orbit of type S 3. This determines a new class of examples of nearly Kähler structures on T S 3.  相似文献

The present theory is based on the assumption that, at very small (Planck scale) distances our spacetime is discrete, and this discreteness influences the Planck scale physics. Considering our (3+1)-dimensional spacetime as a regular hypercubic lattice with a parameter a=λPl, where λPl is the Planck length, we have investigated a role of lattice artifact monopoles, which is essential near the Planck scale if the family-replicated gauge group model (FRGGM) is an extension of the Standard Model (SM) at high energies. It was shown that monopoles have N times smaller magnetic charge in the FRGGM than in the SM (N is the number of families in the FRGGM). These monopoles can give an additional contribution to β functions of the renormalization-group equations for the running fine structure constants αi(μ) (i=1, 2, 3 correspond to the U(1), SU(2), and SU(3) gauge groups of the SM). We have used the Dirac relation for renormalized electric and magnetic charges. Also, we have estimated the enlargement of a number of fermions in the FRGGM leading to the suppression of the asymptotic freedom in the non-Abelian theory. The different role of monopoles in the vicinity of the Planck scale gives rise either to anti-GUT or to the new possibility of unification of gauge interactions (including gravity) at the scale μGUT≈1018.4 GeV. We discussed the possibility of the [SU(5)]3 SUSY or [SO(10)]3 SUSY unifications.  相似文献

The time-of-flight technique is used to measure the ratios R(E, E n )=N(E, E n )/NCf(E) of the normalized (to unity) spectra N(E, E n ) of neutrons accompanying the neutron-induced fission of 238U at primary-neutron energies of E n =6.0 and 7.0 MeV to the spectrum NCf(E) neutrons from the spontaneous fission of 252Cf. These experimental data and the results of their analysis are discussed together with data that were previously obtained for the neutron-induced fission of 238U at the primary energies of E n =2.9, 5.0, 13.2, 14.7, 16.0, and 17.7 MeV.  相似文献

Finite Hamiltonian systems contain operators of position, momentum, and energy, having a finite number N of equally-spaced eigenvalues. Such systems are under the æis of the algebra su(2), and their phase space is a sphere. Rigid motions of this phase space form the group SU(2); overall phases complete this to U(2). But since N-point states can be subject to U(N) ?U(2) transformations, the rest of the generators will provide all N 2 unitary transformations of the states, which appear as nonlinear transformations—aberrations—of the system phase space. We provide a series of arguments which support the idea that the peak seen in the \( \gamma\) p \( \rightarrow\) K + \( \Lambda\) reaction around 1920MeV should correspond to the recently predicted state of J P = 1/2+ as a bound state of K \( \bar{{K}}\) N with a mixture of a 0(980)N and f 0(980)N components. At the same time we propose polarization experiments in that reaction as a further test of the prediction, as well as a study of the total cross-section for \( \gamma\) p \( \rightarrow\) K + K - p at energies close to threshold and of dσ/dM inv for invariant masses close to the two-kaon threshold.  相似文献

Experimental neutron and proton single-particle energies in N = 12 to N = 20 silicon isotopes and data on neutron and proton scattering by nuclei of the isotope 28Si are analyzed on the basis of the dispersive optical model. Good agreement with available experimental data was attained. The occupation probabilities calculated for the single-particle states in question suggest a parallel-type filling of the 1d and 2s 1/2 neutron states in the isotopes 26,28,30,32,34Si. The single-particle spectra being considered are indicative of the closure of the Z = 14 proton subshell in the isotopes 30,32,34Si and the N = 20 neutron shell.  相似文献

We analyze systematically the effective order parameters in nuclear shape phase transition both in experiments and in the interacting boson model. We find that energy ratios and B(E2) ratios can distinguish the first- from the second-order phase transition in theory above a certain boson number N (about 50), but in experiments, only those quantities, such as E(L 1 +)/E(02 +) and B(E2; (L+2)1L 1)/B(E2; 21 → 01), etc., of which the monotonous transitional behavior in the second-order phase transition is broken in the first-order phase transition independent of N, are qualified as the effective order parameters. By implementing the originally proposed effective order parameters and the new ones, we find that the isotones with neutron number N n = 62 are a trajectory of the secondorder phase transition. In addition, we predict that the transitional behavior of isomer shifts of Xe, Ba isotopes and N n = 62 isotones is approximately monotonous due to the finiteness of nuclear system.  相似文献

Within the Grassmannian U(2N)/U(N) × U(N) nonlinear σ-model representation of localization, one can study the low-energy dynamics of both a free and interacting electron gas. We study the crossover between these two fundamentally different physical problems. We show how the topological arguments for the exact quantization of the Hall conductance are extended to include the Coulomb interaction problem. We discuss dynamical scaling and make contact with the theory of variable range hopping.  相似文献
