In this work, the transient analytic solution is found for the initial-boundary-value Burgers equation in 0?x?L. The boundary conditions are a homogeneous Dirichlet condition at x=0 and a constant total flux at x=L. The technique used consists of applying the transformation that reduces Burgers equation to a linear diffusion-advection equation. Previous work on this equation in a bounded region has only applied the Cole-Hopf transformation , which transforms Burgers equation to the linear diffusion equation. The Cole-Hopf transformation can only solve Burgers equation with constant Dirichlet boundary conditions, or time-dependent Dirichlet boundary conditions of the form u(0,t)=F1(t) and u(L,t)=F2(t),0?x?L. In this work, it is shown that the Cole-Hopf transformation will not solve Burgers equation in a bounded region with the boundary conditions dealt with in this work.  相似文献

It is proven that a class of the generalized Riemann problem for quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with the uniform damping term admits a unique global piecewise C1 solution u=u(t,x) containing only n shock waves with small amplitude on t?0 and this solution possesses a global structure similar to that of the similarity solution of the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem. As an application of our result, we prove the existence of global shock solutions, piecewise continuous and piecewise smooth solution with shock discontinuities, of the flow equations of a model class of fluids with viscosity induced by fading memory with a single jump initial data. We also give an example to show that the uniform damping mechanism is not strong enough to prevent the formation of shock waves.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a generalized Burgers equation ut+(u2)x=tuxx, which is a non-uniformly parabolic equation for t>0. We show the existence and uniqueness of classical solutions to the initial-value problem of the generalized Burgers equation with rough initial data belonging to .  相似文献

The propagation of travelling waves is a relevant physical phenomenon. As usual the understanding of a real propagating wave depends upon a correct formulation of a idealized model. Discontinuous functions, Dirac-δ measures and their distributional derivatives are, respectively, idealizations of sharp jumps, localized high peaks and single sharp localised oscillations. In the present paper we study the propagation of distributional travelling waves for Burgers inviscid equation. This will be afforded by our theory of distributional products, and is based on a rigorous and consistent concept of solution we have introduced in [C.O.R. Sarrico, Distributional products and global solutions for nonconservative inviscid Burgers equation, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 281 (2003) 641-656]. Our approach exhibit Dirac-δ travelling solitons (they are just the “infinitesimal narrow solitons” of Maslov, Omel'yanov and Tsupin [V.P. Maslov, O.A. Omel'yanov, Asymptotic soliton-form solutions of equations with small dispersion, Russian Math. Surveys 36 (1981) 73-149; V.P. Maslov, V.A. Tsupin, Necessary conditions for the existence of infinitely narrow solitons in gas dynamics, Soviet Phys. Dokl. 24 (1979) 354-356]) and also solutions which are not measures such as for instance u(x,t)=b+δ(xbt), a wave of constant speed b. Moreover, for signals with two jump discontinuities we have, in our setting, the propagation of more solitons and more values for the signal speed are allowed than those afforded within classical framework.  相似文献

We prove the convergence, up to a subsequence, of the spatial semidiscrete scheme for the one-dimensional Perona-Malik equation ut=(?x(ux)), , when the initial datum is 1-Lipschitz out of a finite number of jump points, and we characterize the problem satisfied by the limit solution. In the more difficult case when has a whole interval where is negative, we construct a solution by a careful inspection of the behaviour of the approximating solutions in a space-time neighbourhood of the jump points. The limit solution u we obtain is the same as the one obtained by replacing ?(⋅) with the truncated function min(?(⋅),1), and it turns out that u solves a free boundary problem. The free boundary consists of the points dividing the region where |ux|>1 from the region where |ux|?1. Finally, we consider the full space-time discretization (implicit in time) of the Perona-Malik equation, and we show that, if the time step is small with respect to the spatial grid h, then the limit is the same as the one obtained with the spatial semidiscrete scheme. On the other hand, if the time step is large with respect to h, then the limit solution equals , i.e., the standing solution of the convexified problem.  相似文献

This paper concerns shock reflection for a system of hyperbolic balance laws in one space dimension. It is shown that the generalized nonlinear initial-boundary Riemann problem for a system of hyperbolic balance laws with nonlinear boundary conditions in the half space admits a unique global piecewise C1 solution u=u(t,x) containing only shocks with small amplitude and this solution possesses a global structure similar to that of self-similar solution of the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem, if each characteristic field with positive velocity is genuinely nonlinear and the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem has only shocks but no centered rarefaction waves and contact discontinuities. This result is also applied to shock reflection for the flow equations of a model class of fluids with viscosity induced by fading memory.  相似文献

In this paper we study the generalized Burgers equation ut+(u2/2)x=f(t)uxx, where f(t)>0 for t>0. We show the existence and uniqueness of classical solutions to the initial value problem of the generalized Burgers equation with rough initial data belonging to , as well it is obtained the decay rates of u in Lp norm are algebra order for p∈[1,∞[.  相似文献

We investigate the global well-posedness, scattering and blow up phenomena when the 3-D quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which is energy-critical, is perturbed by a subcritical nonlinearity λ1p|u|u. We find when the quintic term is defocussing, then the solution is always global no matter what the sign of λ1 is. Scattering will occur either when the perturbation is defocussing and or when the mass of the solution is small enough and . When the quintic term is focusing, we show the blow up for certain solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the existence and uniqueness of the global small solution as well as the small data scattering result to the Cauchy problem for a Boussinesq type equation of sixth order with the nonlinear term f(u) behaving as as u→0 in . The main method and techniques used in our paper are the Littlewood-Paley dyadic decomposition, the stationary phase estimate and some properties of Bessel function.  相似文献

We consider the focusing energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation of fourth order , d?5. We prove that if a maximal-lifespan radial solution obeys suptI‖Δu(t)2<‖ΔW2, then it is global and scatters both forward and backward in time. Here W denotes the ground state, which is a stationary solution of the equation. In particular, if a solution has both energy and kinetic energy less than those of the ground state W at some point in time, then the solution is global and scatters.  相似文献

We prove existence of global and conservative solutions of the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear partial differential equation where f is strictly convex or concave and g is locally uniformly Lipschitz. This includes the Camassa-Holm equation (f(u)=u2/2 and g(u)=κu+u2) as well as the hyperelastic-rod wave equation (f(u)=γu2/2 and g(u)=(3−γ)u2/2) as special cases. It is shown that the problem is well-posed for initial data in H1(R) if one includes a Radon measure that corresponds to the energy of the system with the initial data. The solution is energy preserving. Stability is proved both with respect to initial data and the functions f and g. The proof uses an equivalent reformulation of the equation in terms of Lagrangian coordinates.  相似文献

We study the following complex Ginzburg-Landau equation with cubic nonlinearity on for under initial and Dirichlet boundary conditions u(x,0)=h(x) for x∈Ω, u(x,t)=Q(x,t) on ∂Ω where h,Q are given smooth functions. Under suitable conditions, we prove the existence of a global solution in H1. Further, this solution approaches to the solution of the NLS limit under identical initial and boundary data as a,b→0+.  相似文献

First, we consider the linear wave equation uttuxx+a(x)ut+b(x)u=0 on a bounded interval (0,L)⊂R. The damping function a is allowed to change its sign. If is positive and the spectrum of the operator (xxb) is negative, exponential stability is proved for small . Explicit estimates of the decay rate ω are given in terms of and the largest eigenvalue of (xxb). Second, we show the existence of a global, small, smooth solution of the corresponding nonlinear wave equation uttσx(ux)+a(x)ut+b(x)u=0, if, additionally, the negative part of a is small enough compared with ω.  相似文献

Under a suitable condition on n and p, the quasilinear equation at critical growth −Δpu=λ|u|p−2u+|u|p−2u is shown to admit a nontrivial weak solution for any λ?λ1. Nonstandard linking structures, for the associated functional, are recognized.  相似文献
