For a weakly contrasting anisotropic inhomogeneity in a linearly elastic homogeneous space or half-space, using the perturbation method, we obtain an approximate solution and estimate its accuracy. In the case of inhomogeneity of arbitrary contrast, we reduce the problem to a system of integral equations. In the general case, it is easy to compose the procedure for solving this problem approximately. In the special case of a homogeneous anisotropic ellipsoidal inhomogeneity in space, the strain state inside the inhomogeneity turns out to be homogeneous, and we thus obtain the exact solution of the problem.  相似文献

The problem considered is that of a rigid flat-ended punch with rectangular contact area pressed into a linear elastic half-space to a uniform depth. Both the lubricated and adhesive cases are treated. The problem reduces to solving an integral equation (or equations) for the contact stresses. These stresses have a singular nature which is dealt with explicitly by a singularity-incorporating finite-element method. Values for the stiffness of the lubricated punch and the adhesive punch are determined: the effect of adhesion on the stiffness is found to be small, producing an increase of the order of 3%.  相似文献

The phenomenon of surface instability of an isotropic half-space under biaxial plane stress is studied for compressible elastic materials in finite strain. Euler's method is used to derive the general form of the stability criterion, and analytical details are exhibited by special application to the class of hyperelastic Hadamard materials in two complementary cases: (i) the full solution is derived for the compressible, neo-Hookean members, and (ii) the plane deformation solution is provided for every isotropic, elastic material and specific results are presented for the full Hadamard class. Results appropriate to incompressible Mooney-Rivlin materials are herein obtained as special limit cases. Several theorems are established and some of the conclusions are illustrated graphically.  相似文献

Based on England’s expansion formula for displacements, the elastic field in a transversely isotropic functionally graded annular plate subjected to biharmonic transverse forces on its top surface is investigated using the complex variables method. The material parameters are assumed to vary along the thickness direction in an arbitrary fashion. The problem is converted to determine the expressions of four analytic functions α (ζ), β (ζ), ? (ζ) and ψ (ζ) under certain boundary conditions. A series of simple and practical biharmonic loads are presented. The four analytic functions are constructed carefully in a biconnected annular region corresponding to the presented loads, which guarantee the single-valuedness of the mid-plane displacements of the plate. The unknown constants contained in the analytic functions can be determined from the boundary conditions that are similar to those in the plane elasticity as well as those in the classical plate theory. Numerical examples show that the material gradient index and boundary conditions have a significant influence on the elastic field.  相似文献

Summary The dynamic behaviour of a railway system is influenced by the interaction of its three subsystems: the vehicles, the rail construction itself and the subsoil. In this paper, the subsoil is considered as a linear-elastic layered half-space. Integral transformations are used for the analysis of this system: Fourier transformation for the time/frequency domain and for the space/wavenumber domains with respect to the horizontal coordinates. One arrives at an ordinary differential equation for the vertical direction, by which different layers or continuously changing elastic properties can be taken into account in an efficient manner. The efficiency of the transformation technique depends substantially on the effort necessary for the inverse transformation. A substantial reduction of data can be achieved in an error-controlled procedure if a wavelet transformation is applied as an additional transformation. The calculations are illustrated by solutions of several examples of moving time-dependent loads, particularly of a train model with four vehicles idealized by moving forces, time depending as if they were passing a rigid surface with a given roughness. We consider the dynamic contact problem on vertical motions of an absolutely rigid body on an elastic half-space. We assume that the contact region does not vary during the motion and there is no friction under the die bottom. We construct an approximate solution of the problem under the assumption that the variation in the contact pressure under the die bottom on the time interval in which the Rayleigh wave runs the distance equal to the contact area diameter is small. Computational formulas are obtained for the cases of circular and elliptic dies.  相似文献

An unconstrained, non-linearly elastic, semi-infinite solid is maintained in a state of large static plane strain. A power-law relation between the pre-stretches is assumed and it is shown that this assumption is well motivated physically and is likely to describe the state of pre-stretch for a wide class of materials. A general class of strain-energy functions consistent with this assumption is derived. For this class of materials, the secular equation for incremental surface waves and the bifurcation condition for surface instability are shown to reduce to an equation involving only ordinary derivatives of the strain-energy equation. A compressible neo-Hookean material is considered as an example and it is found that finite compressibility has little quantitative effect on the speed of a surface wave and on the critical ratio of compression for surface instability.  相似文献

Surface Green function for incompressible, elastically isotropic half-space coupled with surface stress is derived by using double Fourier transform technique. The result indicates that the surface displacement induced by a force tangential to the surface is the same as the usual solution for elastic half-spaces where the effect of surface stress is ignored. However, the displacement caused by a force normal to the surface involves an additional parameter, i.e. the ratio of specific surface stress to shear modulus. The parameter has the dimension of length, and may provide a means to introduce an intrinsic length scale for some related problems regarding the surface of an elastic half-space. This is extremely true for soft elastic media with very low shear modulus, because in that situation the magnitude of the parameter is relatively large. As an illustrative example, the proposed Green function is adopted to analyze the interaction between two molecules with circular section adsorbed on the surface of a soft elastic half-space. It is shown that surface stress remarkably affects the pair interaction potential when the distance between the molecules is not larger than several times of the intrinsic length scale.  相似文献

The idea of generalized images, first used by the author for the case of crack problems, is applied here to solve a contact problem for n transversely isotropic elastic layers, with smooth interfaces, resting on a smooth elastic half-space, made of a different transversely isotropic material. A rigid punch of arbitrary shape is pressed against the top layer’s free surface. The governing integral equation is derived for the case of two layers; it is mathematically equivalent to that of an electrostatic problem of an infinite row of coaxial charged disks in the shape of the domain of contact. This result is then generalized for an arbitrary number of layers. As a comparison, the method of integral transforms is also used to solve the problem. The main difference of our integral transform approach with the existing ones is in separating of our half-space solution from the integral transform terms. It is shown that both methods lead to the same results, thus giving a new interpretation to the integral transform as a sum of an infinite series of generalized images.  相似文献

A transition matrix formulism for the scattering problems of elastic waves using a surface scatterer of three-dimensional half-space is derived by applying Betti's third identity and orthogonality conditions. The basis functions and their corresponding regular parts are derived from Lamb's singular solutions. The new orthogonal functions are constructed based on the linear transform. The intrinsic properties of the scattering and transition matrices derived in this paper are investigated. Numerical results for verification are presented and discussed.  相似文献

Summary In this paper the statical equilibrium problem of a rectangular plate unilaterally constrained against an elastic half-space is analyzed. The frictional contact hypothesis at the interface between plate and foundation is made. The assumed friction law represents a suitable regularization of Coulomb's classical law, which is particularly helpful in view of the theoretical and numerical developments.The problem is formulated and discussed from a theoretical point of view. Some numerical results are also given showing the influence on the solution of the frictional contact hypothesis.
Sommario In questo lavoro si analizza il problema di equilibrio statico di una piastra rettangolare vincolata unilateralmente su un semispazio elastico. Viene fatta l'ipotesi di contatto con attrito all'interfaccia fra piastra e fondazione. La legge di attrito che si assume rappresenta una opportuna regolarizzazione della classica legge di Coulomb, la quale è particolarmente utile per gli sviluppi sia teorici che numerici. Il problema viene formulato e discusso da un punto di vista teorico; vengono inoltre forniti alcuni risultati numerici che mostrano l'influenza sulla soluzione dell'ipotesi di contatto con attrito.
