Buchwalter and Schmets reconciled Cc(X) and Cp(X) spaces with most of the weak barrelledness conditions of 1973, but could not determine if -barrelled ⇔ ?∞-barrelled for Cc(X). The areas grew apart. Full reconciliation with the fourteen conditions adopted by Saxon and Sánchez Ruiz needs their 1997 characterization of Ruess' property (L), which allows us to reduce the Cc(X) problem to its 1973 status and solve it by carefully translating the topology of Kunen (1980) and van Mill (1982) to find the example that eluded Buchwalter and Schmets. The more tractable Cp(X) readily partitions the conditions into just two equivalence classes, the same as for metrizable locally convex spaces, instead of the five required for Cc(X) spaces. Our paper elicits others, soon to appear, that analytically characterize when the Tychonov space X is pseudocompact, or Warner bounded, or when Cc(X) is a df-space (Jarchow's 1981 question). 相似文献

We consider the nonlinear dispersive K(m,n) equation with the generalized evolution term and derive analytical expressions for some conserved quantities. By using a solitary wave ansatz in the form of sechp function, we obtain exact bright soliton solutions for (2 + 1)-dimensional and (3 + 1)-dimensional K(m,n) equations with the generalized evolution terms. The results are then generalized to multi-dimensional K(m,n) equations in the presence of the generalized evolution term. An extended form of the K(m,n) equation with perturbation term is investigated. Exact bright soliton solution for the proposed K(m,n) equation having higher-order nonlinear term is determined. The physical parameters in the soliton solutions are obtained as function of the dependent model coefficients. 相似文献

In this paper, we extend the class of E-convex sets, E-convex and E-quasiconvex functions introduced by [Youness, E.A., 1999. E-convex sets, E-convex functions and E-convex programming. Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications 102, 439–450], respectively by [Syau, Yu-Ru, Lee, E. Stanley, 2005. Some properties of E-convex functions. Applied Mathematics Letters 18, 1074–1080] to E-invex set, E-preinvex, E-prequasiinvex and corresponding local concepts. Some properties of these classes are studied. In a previous paper, the author used a notion of orthogonality introduced in another article to establish characterizations for orthogonality in the spaces lSp(C), 1?p<∞, thus obtaining generalizations of the usual characterization of orthogonality in the Hilbert spaces lS2(C), via inner products. The following result due to Hanai, Morita, and Stone is well known: Let f be a closed continuous map of a metric space X onto a topological space Y. Then the following statements are equivalent: (i) Y satisfies the first countability axiom; (ii) for each y∈Y, f−1{y} has a compact boundary in X; (iii) Y is metrizable.In this article we obtain several related results in the setting of topological ordered spaces. We prove that whenever X is zero-dimensional metrizable with σ-compact set of accumulation points and K is compact metrizable, the function space KX endowed with the compact-open topology is a compact-covering image of the product of the irrationals and the Cantor cube. In particular, for any metrizable E , the iterated function space E(KX) is perfectly normal and paracompact. Special exact solutions of the K(2, 2) equation, ut + (u2)x + (u2)xxx = 0, are investigated by employing the qualitative theory of differential equations. Our procedure shows that the K(2, 2) equation either has loop soliton, cusped soliton and smooth soliton solutions when sitting on the non-zero constant pedestal limx→±∞u = A ≠ 0, or possesses compacton solutions only when limx→±∞u = 0. We consider single-item (r, q) and (s, T) inventory systems with integer-valued demand processes. While most of the inventory literature studies continuous approximations of these models and establishes joint convexity properties of the policy parameters in the continuous space, we show that these properties no longer hold in the discrete space, in the sense of linear interpolation extension and L?-convexity. This nonconvexity can lead to failure of optimization techniques based on local optimality to obtain the optimal inventory policies. It can also make certain comparative properties established previously using continuous variables invalid. We revise these properties in the discrete space. 相似文献

We address the problem of finding the K best paths connecting a given pair of nodes in a directed acyclic graph (DAG) with arbitrary lengths. One of the main results in this paper is the proof that a tree representing the kth shortest path is obtained by an arc exchange in one of the previous (k − 1) trees (each of which contains a previous best path). An O(m + K(n + log K)) time and O(K + m) space algorithm is designed to explicitly determine the K shortest paths in a DAG with n nodes and m arcs. The algorithm runs in O(m + Kn) time using O(K + m) space in DAGs with integer length arcs. Empirical results confirming the superior performance of the algorithm to others found in the literature for randomly generated graphs are reported. 相似文献

The Choquet integral can be regarded as one of aggregation operators being used in information fusion. In this study, we offer an interpretation of sequences of measurable functions and the Choquet integral in the framework of information fusion. Based on an efficiency measure space, we also define a new concept of a fundamental convergence in the (C) mean of sequences of measurable functions and discuss its theoretical underpinnings along with related interpretation issues as well as deliver some new results. Furthermore, an application of this concept is discussed in the context of information fusion. More specifically, based on the theoretical investigations, this idea is applied to the determination of a measurable function being used in the Choquet integral. 相似文献
