A method for solving the finite-volume Kirkwood-type correlation equations for tempered boundary conditions is developed. The central idea is an analytic continuation in the activity of the resolvent formulas for the solutions. The uniqueness theorem is proved for activities in a larger domain of the complex plane than the “standard” circle of analyticity1). A connection with the eigenvector problem for the corresponding Kirkwood-type operators is discussed. We compare also the correlation equation method with the “equilibrium equation” one handling directly with the Gibbs probability measure.  相似文献

The linear response of a quantity like the electric current to a time and space dependent field can be described by Kubo's formula, and this again can be written as a resolvent. The expansion of this resolvent yields exactly a transport equation of the structure of the Boltzmann equation. Perturbation theory — the only practical way to deal with it — gives back the usual Boltzmann equation. This derivation has advantages like yielding a symmetric collision operator. Also including time and space dependence with this approach is very easy. The purpose of this paper is to show the closeness of linear response theory and kinetic equations. We also discuss merits and drawbacks of the resolvent method.  相似文献

We generalize the resolvent approach of Gelfand and Dikii to the KdV equation to study theN=2 supersymmetric KdV equations of Laberge and Mathieu. For the associated Lax operators, we study the coincidence limits of the resolvent kernel and its derivatives, and obtain differential equations which they satisfy. These allow us to obtain recursion relations for the analogues of the Gelfand-Dikii polynomials and to obtain a proof of Hamiltonian integrability of the supersymmetric KdV equations. A new method of finding the periodic solutions for the equations integrable within the framework of the AKNS scheme is reviewed. The approach is a modification of the known finite-band integration method, based on the re-parametrization of the solution with the use of algebraic resolvent of the polynomial defining the solution in the finite-band integration method. This approach permits one to obtain periodic solutions in an effective form necessary for applications. The periodic solutions are found for such systems as the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation, the Heisenberg model, the uniaxial ferromagnet, the AB system, and self-induced transparency and stimulated Raman scattering equations. The modulation Whitham theory describing the slow modulation of periodic waves is expressed in a form convenient for applications. The Whitham equations are obtained for all abovementioned cases. The technique developed is applied to the nonlinear theory of modulational instability describing the transformation of a local disturbance expanding into a nonuniform region presented as a modulated periodic wave whose evolution is governed by the Whitham equations. This theory explains the formation of solitons on the sharp front of a long pulse.  相似文献

We construct solutions of the constraint equation with non constant mean curvature on an asymptotically hyperbolic manifold by the conformal method. Our approach consists in decreasing a certain exponent appearing in the equations, constructing solutions of these sub-critical equations and then in letting the exponent tend to its true value. We prove that the solutions of the sub-critical equations remain bounded which yields solutions of the constraint equation unless a certain limit equation admits a non-trivial solution. Finally, we give conditions which ensure that the limit equation admits no non-trivial solution.  相似文献

We study a fermion-boson transformation. Our approach is based on the 3 × 3 equations which are subequations of both the Dirac and Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equations and thus provide a link between these equations. We show that solutions of the free Dirac equation can be converted to solutions of spin- 0 Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equation and vice versa. Mechanism of this transition assumes existence of a constant spinor.  相似文献

A general formalism, where irreversible processes are related to singularities of the resolvent of the Liouville operator, is applied to classical open systems. For a system weakly coupled to a thermal reservoir, a kinetic equation is derived. It is shown that the method leads to equations defining a positivity-preserving semigroup with the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution as a stationary solution and obeying an H-theory. It is pointed out that these properties are not always shared by irreversible equations obtained as asymptotic approximations of the so-called generalized master equation.  相似文献

We apply the method of group foliation to the complex Monge-Ampère equation (CMA 2) to establish a regular framework for finding its non-invariant solutions. We employ an infinite symmetry subgroup ofCMA 2 to produce a foliation of the solution space into orbits of solutions with respect to this group and a corresponding splitting ofCMA 2 into an automorphic system and a resolvent system. We propose a new approach to group foliation which is based on the commutator algebra of operators of invariant differentiation. This algebra together with its Jacobi identities provides the commutator representation of the resolvent system. Presented by M.B. We derived analytical solutions of the simplified spherical harmonics equations, an approximation of the radiative transfer equation, for infinitely extended scattering media. The derived equations are simple (sum of exponential functions) and quickly evaluated. We compared the solutions with Monte Carlo simulations in the steady-state and time domains and found much better agreement compared to solutions of the diffusion equation, especially for large absorption coefficients, short time values, and small distances from the source.  相似文献

We study the local-in-time hydrodynamic limit of the relativistic Boltzmann equation using a Hilbert expansion. More specifically, we prove the existence of local solutions to the relativistic Boltzmann equation that are nearby the local relativistic Maxwellians. The Maxwellians are constructed from a class of solutions to the relativistic Euler equations that includes a large subclass of near-constant, non-vacuum fluid states. In particular, for small Knudsen number, these solutions to the relativistic Boltzmann equation have dynamics that are effectively captured by corresponding solutions to the relativistic Euler equations.  相似文献

We propose a simple and direct method for generating travelling wave solutions for nonlinear integrable equations. We illustrate how nontrivial solutions for the KdV, the mKdV and the Boussinesq equations can be obtained from simple solutions of linear equations. We describe how using this method, a soliton solution of the KdV equation can yield soliton solutions for the mKdV as well as the Boussinesq equations. Similarly, starting with cnoidal solutions of the KdV equation, we can obtain the corresponding solutions for the mKdV as well as the Boussinesq equations. Simple solutions of linear equations can also lead to cnoidal solutions of nonlinear systems. Finally, we propose and solve some new families of KdV equations and show how soliton solutions are also obtained for the higher order equations of the KdV hierarchy using this method.  相似文献

The reduced (in the angular coordinate ϕ) wave equation and Klein–Gordon equation are considered on a Kerr background and in the framework of C 0-semigroup theory. Each equation is shown to have a well-posed initial value problem, i.e., to have a unique solution depending continuously on the data. Further, it is shown that the spectrum of the semigroup's generator coincides with the spectrum of an operator polynomial whose coefficients can be read off from the equation. In this way the problem of deciding stability is reduced to a spectral problem and a mathematical basis is provided for mode considerations. For the wave equation it is shown that the resolvent of the semigroup's generator and the corresponding Green's functions can be computed using spheroidal functions. It is to be expected that, analogous to the case of a Schwarzschild background, the quasinormal frequencies of the Kerr black hole appear as resonances, i.e., poles of the analytic continuation of this resolvent. Finally, stability of the solutions of the reduced Klein–Gordon equation is proven for large enough masses. Received: 28 August 2000 / Accepted: 4 April 2001  相似文献

We consider a radiating shear-free spherically symmetric metric in higher dimensions. Several new solutions to the Einstein’s equations are found systematically using the method of Lie analysis of differential equations. Using the five Lie point symmetries of the fundamental field equation, we obtain either an implicit solution or we can reduce the governing equations to a Riccati equation. We show that known solutions of the Einstein equations can produce infinite families of new solutions. Earlier results in four dimensions are shown to be special cases of our generalised results.  相似文献

The Bach equation and the equation of geometrodynamics are based on two quite different physical motivations, but in both approaches, the conformal properties of gravitation play the key role. In this paper we present an analysis of the relation between these two equations and show that the solutions of the equation of geometrodynamics are of a more general nature. We show the following non-trivial result: there exists a conformally invariant Lagrangian, whose field equation generalizes the Bach equation and has as solutions those Ricci tensors which are solutions to the equation of break geometrodynamics.  相似文献

The Einstein equation for the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric plays a fundamental role in cosmology. The direct search of the exact solutions of the Einstein equation even in this simple metric case is sometime a hard job. Therefore, it is useful to construct solutions of the Einstein equation using a known solutions of some other equations which are equivalent or related to the Einstein equation. In this work, we establish the relationship the Einstein equation with two other famous equations namely the Ramanujan equation and the Chazy equation. Both these two equations play an important role in the number theory. Using the known solutions of the Ramanujan and Chazy equations, we find the corresponding solutions of the Einstein equation.  相似文献

The equation of radiative transfer in a semi-infinite homogeneous atmosphere with different internal sources is solved by the method of kernel approximation—the kernel in the equation for the Sobolev resolvent function is approximated by a Gauss-Legendre sum. Then the obtained approximate equation can be solved exactly and the solution is a weighted sum of exponentials. All the necessary coefficients of the solutions may be easily found. Since the resolvent function is closely connected with the Green function of the integral radiative transfer equation, the radiation field for different internal sources can be found by simple integration. For the considered cases the formulas for the radiation field are obtained and the respective accuracy estimated. 利用同伦分析法求解了(2+1)维改进的 Zakharov-Kuznetsov方程, 得到了它的近似周期解,该解与精确解符合很好. 结果表明,同伦分析法在求解高维非线性演化方程时, 仍然是一种行之有效的方法. 同时,还对该方法进行了一定的扩展, 经过扩展后的方法能够更方便地求解更多非线性演化方程的高精度近似解析解. 关键词: 同伦分析法 改进的 Zakharov-Kuznetsov方程 周期解  相似文献

We obtain, a complete classification of all possible nontrivial similarity solutions of the free Kramers equations, together with a necessary and sufficient condition for each type to be reducible to the heat equation.
