Isospin-violating mixing of ρ- and ω-mesons is reconsidered in terms of propagators. Its influence on various pairs of (ρ,ω)-decays to the same final states is demonstrated. Some of them, (ρ,ω)↦π+π- and (ρ,ω)↦πγ, have been earlier discussed in the literature, others (e.g., (ρ,ω)↦ηγ and (ρ,ω)↦e + e -) are new in this context. Changes in partial widths for all the decay pairs are shown to be correlated. The set of present experimental data, though yet inconclusive, provides some limits for the direct (ρω)-coupling and indirectly supports enhancement of ρ↦πγ in comparison with ρ±↦π±γ, though not so large as in some previous estimates. We analyze the B → ππ, πK modes in the light of the most recent B-factory data, and obtain the following new results: (i) the modes prefer γ = (74±6)°, which - together with |Vub/Vcb| - allows us to determine the "true" unitarity triangle and to search for CP-violating new-physics contributions to B0d- mixing; (ii) the B → πK puzzle reflected in particular by the low experimental value of the ratio Rn of the neutral B → πK rates persists and still favors new physics in the electroweak penguin sector with a new CP-violating phase ϕ ~ –90°, although now also ϕ ~ +90° can bring us rather close to the data; (iii) the mixing-induced CP asymmetry is a sensitive probe of the sign of this phase, and would currently favor ϕ ~ +90°, as well as the direct CP asymmetry of , which suffers, however, from large hadronic uncertainties; (iv) we investigate the sensitivity of our B → πK analysis to large non-factorizable SU(3)-breaking effects and find that their impact is surprisingly small so that it is indeed exciting to speculate on new physics; (v) assuming that new physics enters through Z0 penguins, we study the interplay between B → πK and rare B, K decays and point out that the most recent B-factory constraints for the latter have interesting implications, bringing us to a few scenarios for the future evolution of the data, where also the mixing-induced CP violation in plays a prominent r?le.  相似文献

First radial excitations of the scalar-meson nonet and of the pseudoscalar mesons η and η′ are described within a nonlocal chiral quark model of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio type with ′t Hooft interaction. In this model, simple form factors are used, which allows us to describe first radial excitations of the mesons and to retain the gap equations describing spontaneous breakdown of chiral symmetry in the standard form. The external parameters of form factors are fixed by the masses of excited pseudoscalar mesons, and the same form factors are used to predict the masses of excited scalar mesons. The strong decays of excited scalar mesons and of η and η′ mesons are described in satisfactory agreement with experimental data.  相似文献

The production rate of light photinos in radiative pion decay \(\pi ^0 \to \gamma \tilde \gamma \tilde \gamma\) is calculated. Experimental constraints on masses and mass splittings of scalar quarks imply the following upper bound on the decay rate \(BR(\pi ^0 \to \gamma \tilde \gamma \tilde \gamma ) \lesssim 10^{ - 16}\) .  相似文献

The dilepton invariant mass spectra and integrated branching ratios of the single and double Dalitz decays P→l~+l~-γ and P→l~+l~-l~+l~-(P=π~0,η,η';l=e or μ) are predicted by means of a data-driven approach based on the use of rational approximants applied to π~0,η and η' transition form factor experimental data in the space-like region.  相似文献

Considering the signals detected at 4.03 and 4.16 GeV as radial excitations of charmonium, we study their relative decay rates intoD \(\bar D\) ,D \(\bar D^* \) ,D * \(\bar D\) ,D * \(\bar D^* \) . We point out that one can understand these two peaks as ac \(\bar c\) 3S?2D wave state system with a large mixing angle in a Coulomb+linear interquark potential. We also examine the possibility that these two signals are respectively 3S and 4S wave excitations by studying a logarithmic charmonium potential model. We show that both these interpretations lead to drastically different predictions for the Ψ (4.16) decay rates (eitherD \(\bar D^* \) +D * \(\bar D\) orD \(\bar D\) mode is strongly suppressed) which would be very instructive to test experimentally.  相似文献

We calculate direct CP-violating rate asymmetries in chargedBPP andBVP decays arising from the interference of amplitudes with different strong and CKM phases. The perturbative strong phases develop at order α s from absorptive parts of one-loop matrix elements of the next-to-leading logarithm corrected effective Hamiltonian. CPT constraints are maintained. Based on this model, we find that partial rate asymmetries between charge conjugateB ± decays can be as high as 20% for certain channels with branching ratios in the 10?6 range. Because the $c\bar c$ threshold lies so close to the physical momentum scale, the asymmetries depend sensitively on the model assumptions used to evaluate the imaginary parts of the matrix elements, in particular, on the internal momentum transfer. The charge asymmetries of partial rates would provide unambiguous evidence for direct CP violation.  相似文献

Cross sections of inelastic scattering of π-mesons from Si, Ni, and Pb nuclei at energy T lab = 291 MeV are calculated using the distorted wave approximation. The microscopic direct and transition optical potentials are determined by specifying the pion-nucleon scattering amplitude and the nuclear density distribution, where we use the in-medium πN amplitude parameters obtained earlier by analyzing the elastic scattering data for the same nuclei. The cross sections are calculated on the basis of the relativistic wave equation. The deformation parameters of the nuclei are obtained by comparing inelastic scattering cross sections with the appropriate experimental data.  相似文献

The decays KL,S → π0γγ are calculated within the framework of chiral perturbation theory. The amplitude for KL → π0γγ is found to be finite at the one-loop level yielding a branching ratio of 6.8 × 10−7. The ω resonance production and its π0γ decay in pA reactions close to threshold is considered within the Intranuclear Cascade (INC) model. The π0γ invariant-mass distribution shows two components which correspond to the ω decay “inside” and “outside” the nucleus, respectively. The “inside” component is distorted by medium effects, which introduce a mass shift as well as collisional broadening for the ω-meson and its decaying pion. The relative contribution of the “inside” component is analyzed in detail for different kinematical conditions and nuclear targets. It is demonstrated that a measurement of the correlation in azimuthal angle between the π0 and γ momenta allows to separate events related to the “inside”ω decay from different sources of background when uncorrelated π0's and γ's are produced. The ? → π+π?γγ and ? → π+π?η decays are sought in the experimental data obtained with the CMD-2 detector in the region of the ?-meson resonance. Upper limits ?(? → ππγγ)< 1.2 × 10?4 and ?(? → ππη) < 6.1 × 10?5 (both at a C.L. of 90%) are determined for the branching ratios of these decays.  相似文献

A general parametrization of the B +π + K 0 and B d 0π K + decay amplitudes is presented. It relies only on the isospin symmetry of strong interactions and the phase structure of the Standard Model and involves no approximations. In particular, this parametrization takes into account both rescattering and electroweak penguin effects, which limit the theoretical accuracy of bounds on γ arising from the combined B +-π +- K, B d π K ± branching ratios. Generalized bounds making also use of the CP asymmetry in the latter decay are derived, and their sensitivity to possible rescattering and electroweak penguin effects is investigated. It is pointed out that experimental data on B ±K ± K allow us to include rescattering processes in these bounds completely, and an improved theoretical treatment of electroweak penguins is presented. It is argued that rescattering effects may enhance the combined B ±K ± K branching ratio by a factor of O(10) to the 10−5 level, and that they may be responsible for the small present central value of the ratio of the combined B d π K ± and B ±π ± K branching ratios, which has recently been reported by the CLEO collaboration and, if confirmed, would exclude values of γ within a large region around 90°.  相似文献

We investigate the reactions πNa 0 N and ppda 0 + near threshold and at medium energies. An effective Lagragian approach and the Regge pole model are applied to analyze different contributions to the cross-section of the reaction πNa 0 N. These results are used to calculate the differential and total cross-sections of the reaction ppda 0 + within the framework of the two-step model in which two nucleons produce an a0-meson via π-meson exchange and fuse to a deuteron. The necessity of new measurements on a0 production and branching fractions (of its decay to the K and πη channels) is emphasized for clarifying the a0 structure. A search for φ radiative decays has been performed using a data sample of about 2.0 million φ decays collected by the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M collider in Novosibirsk. From the selected e+eπ+πγ events the following results were obtained:B(φf0(980)γ)<1×10−4 for destructive andB(φf0(980)γ)<7×10−4 for constructive interference with the Bremsstrahlung process respectively,B(φγπ+πγ)<3×10−5 for Eγ>20 MeV,B(φργ)<7×10−4. From the selected e+eμ+μγ eventsB(φμ+μγ)=(2.3±1.0)×10−5 has been obtained for Eγ>20 MeV. The upper limit on the P,CP-violating decay ηπ+π has also been placed:B(ηπ+π)<9×10−4. Both l00Mo and 116Cd are double--decay candidates, whose intermediate (virtual) state is a nucleus with J = 1+ in the ground state. Consequently, in these cases one can measure the single--decay matrix elements in addition to the 2-decay rate and test models in a more stringent way. We have measured the electron-capture decays of 100Tc and 116In which show that: a) the ground state dominance hypothesis works very well; b) deformation plays a role which cannot be neglected in QRPA calculations. QRPA predictions work better in the spherical A = 116 system than in the transition A = 100 system.  相似文献

We estimate the rates ofB 0 decays into neutral charmed final states \(B^0 \to \overline {D^{ * 0} } \gamma ,B^0 \to \overline {D^{ * 0} } \pi ^0 ,B^0 \to \overline {D^0 } \pi ^0 ,B^0 \to \overline {D^0 } \omega \) , by considering factorizable, vector meson dominance and long distance contributions. We also discuss the role of these decay modes as a source of background events in the search for exclusiveb→sγ transitions in very high energy experiments, e.g. at LEP.  相似文献

The dynamically generated resonances from vector meson-baryon decuplet are studied using La-grangians of the hidden gauge theory for vector interactions. One shows that some of the generated states can be associated with some known baryon resonances in the PDG data, while others are predictions for new states. Furthermore, we calculate the radiative decay widths of these resonances into a photon and a baryon decuplet.  相似文献
