级联长周期光纤光栅的透射谱具有干涉峰的振幅大、谱型丰富等优点。利用传输矩阵法分析了级联及相移长周期光栅的光谱特性,研究了级联光栅间距、位置和相移对光栅谱的影响,并对级联及相移长周期光栅谱进行了比较。结果表明:两者光谱特性在光栅间距长度与光栅周期之比较小或级联位置靠近光栅两端时具有较强的一致性。对相移长周期光栅而言,当引入多个相移时,两个主阻带间的通带宽度随着引入的相移个数的增多而逐渐变宽。  相似文献

We experimentally designed dispersion-managed repeaterless transmission systems with a pre-compensation and post-compensation technique using multi-channel-chirped fiber Bragg gratings. The repeaterless transmission link supports a single channel(1548.51 nm) with a 10 Gbps repeaterless transmission system over 300 km standard single-mode fiber(SSMF). In the system design, two distributed Raman amplifiers(DRAs) were used to improve the signal level propagated along the 300 km SSMF. The co-propagating DRA provided 15 dB on–off gain and the counter-propagating produced 32 dB on–off gain at the signal wavelength. The experiment results show that the post-compensation configuration achieves an optimal performance with a bit error rate at 1 × 10~(-9).  相似文献

We have measured the spectral polarization-dependent losses of cascaded long-period fiber gratings composed of single, double, and triple identical gratings and fabricated by exposure of a UV laser beam on one side of a fiber. The measurement was made by use of the Mueller matrix method for scanning the wavelength of the incident beam. The polarization-dependent loss was dramatically increased as the number of cascaded gratings was increased. The formation of the UV-induced geometric birefringence in the fiber grating and its relationship to the fine interference fringes formed by cascading gratings are discussed.  相似文献

A novel scheme to achieve broadband cascaded third-harmonic generation by use of two-dimensional quasi-phase-matching gratings is proposed. Intrinsic group-velocity mismatch is compensated by the pulse front tilt in noncollinear interaction geometry. The presented scheme enables broadband third-harmonic generation in a single device of long interaction length, which reduces the operation intensity dramatically.  相似文献

研究了基于半导体光放大器(SOA)和双段级联取样光纤光栅构成的新型结构多波长激光器.设 计了取样光纤光栅,计算了其反射谱,模拟了多波长激光器的输出光谱.基于自行制作的SOA 和取样光纤光栅,进行了多波长激光器的实验研究,得到了间隔为0.8nm、输出功率不平坦 度小于1.0dB的11个波长输出.理论和实验两个方面都可以验证:与基于普通取样光栅的多波 长方案相比,基于双段级联取样光栅的方案能改善输出谱平坦度,并可提高可激射波长数. 关键词: 半导体光放大器 取样光纤光栅 多波长激光器  相似文献

In this paper, the Yb-doped superfluorescent fiber source (SFS) with cascaded broad fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are reported. The spectral properties of this SFS with cascaded broad FBGs are described and compared with that without cascaded broad FBGs. This paper studies coupled nonlinear Schrödinger's equation (NLSE) that appears in a cascaded system. Both Kerr law and power law nonlinearities are considered. Bright and dark soliton solutions are retrieved for these nonlinearities. The corresponding constraint conditions naturally fall out that from the mathematical expressions that must remain valid for solitons to exist.  相似文献

Considering the presence of birefringence in Bragg gratings, the spectral polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and polarization dependent loss (PDL) induced power penalty of eye opening is examined for a network with cascaded Bragg gratings. It is shown that when the birefringence in the grating is less than 10−5, the induced power penalty is less than 0.1 dB for a network with up to 30 cascaded Bragg gratings. However, when the grating birefringence is on the order of 10−4, the induced power penalty can be as high as 5.6 dB for a network with 14 cascaded Bragg gratings.  相似文献

We have experimentally shown wavelength mode switching in a dual-wavelength Erbium-doped single cavity fiber laser where the initial two wavelengths of 1 nm spacing are determined by the cascaded reflection type short-period fiber Bragg gratings having two different centre wavelengths of 1550.5 and 1551.5 nm. The lasing mode depends on the polarization in the ring cavity to migrate from one wavelength to another or operates in both modes in a polarization beam splitter output. To effectively control the polarization in the ring cavity, the polarization controllers were positioned before and after the polarization beam splitter. This method of wavelength switching provides a simple way of mode tuning in dual-wavelength fiber lasers.  相似文献

A novel wavelength-selective optical switching device based on multiply cascaded long-period fiber gratings is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The on and off states of each channel in the optical switching device can be effectively switched by voltage-controllable coil heaters. The device has advantages of multichannel operation, multiwavelength selectivity, and bandwidth controllability. It can be useful for applications in multiwavelength operational signal gating, optical switching devices, routers, and multiplexers in optical communication systems.  相似文献

This is the first report, to our knowledge, of refractive-index grating side writing in 10 mol.% GeO(2)-doped fiber by the near-UV light of a cw Ar(+) laser (333-364 nm). An induced-index magnitude as large as 1.9 x 10(-4) at 1.7x10(5) W/cm(2) UV power density has been achieved. The observed gratings have exhibited the same temperature stability as gratings written by a KrF excimer laser (248 nm).  相似文献

In this work, we present a small-signal analysis which reveals its usefulness to explain the evolution of the optical frequency responses obtained at the outputs of two-cascaded semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) used in a counterpropagating configuration (TC-SOA-CC). To obtained these responses, the TC-SOA-CC configuration has been implemented on an electric simulator and we have used for each SOA a multisection rate equation based model. This model permits us to study both the static and dynamic behavior of the TC-SOA-CC optical outputs in the context of bidirectional transmission. Thanks to this model, we can also obtain the evolution of the carrier lifetimes in each SOA in order to determinate their influence on the optical frequency responses. The small-signal responses derived from our small-signal analysis are given as a function of the intrinsic parameters and for each specific situation for the value of the average injected optical power. This small-signal analysis is used to comment the behavior of the frequency responses obtained by simulation at the TC-SOA-CC optical outputs. Thanks to our small-signal analysis, we explain why for such a configuration, the features of the frequency responses obtained at the SOAs optical outputs can change from a low-pass, to a high-pass, and/or to a band-pass form by varying the average injected optical powers in the SOAs.  相似文献

为了设计和制造高角度均匀性的积分球辐射源,需要提供优化的设计参数。基于空腔的辐射传输理论,建立了基于级联积分球结构的发光单元光出射度分布的仿真模型,并获得了朗伯型发光单元安装位置和级联积分球辐射源角度均匀性之间的关系。仿真结果表明:理想情况下,采用2个朗伯型级联子球作为发光单元,对称安装在与级联积分球辐射源出光口法线方向成10°夹角位置时,通过球心与出光口法线方向成±20°夹角观测区域内的角度均匀性可以达到0.03%的水平。最后,通过实验测量级联子球在30°夹角位置时级联积分球辐射源的角度均匀性,发现实验结果与仿真结果接近一致。因此,通过优化发光单元的类型和安装位置,可以有效提升积分球辐射源的角度均匀性。  相似文献

Radiation of elastic waves is studied that is emitted by a point load that crosses the interface of two elastic half-planes. It is assumed that the load has a constant magnitude, moves along a straight line normal to the interface, and has a constant speed that is smaller than the minimum shear wave speed in the half-planes. In this case the mechanism of excitation of elastic waves is conventionally referred to as transition radiation. The adopted model allows to obtain an analytical expression for the elastic field excited by the load in the frequency-wavenumber domain. Using this expression, the energy of transition radiation is derived in a closed form. It is shown that transition radiation of the body waves occurs at any non-zero velocity of the load. Additionally, transition radiation of interface waves may occur provided that parameters of the half-planes allow existence of Stoneley waves. A parametric analysis of the directivity diagram of radiated body waves is accomplished focusing on dependence of the diagram on the load speed, load direction, and parameters of the half-planes. Using parameters that allow radiation of interface waves, the energy of this radiation is compared to that of the body waves. It is shown that the energy of the interface waves is greater unless the load velocity is close to the lowest body wave velocity.  相似文献

The chaotic dynamics of a system of two unidirectionally coupled backward-wave oscillators (BWOs) is studied in the case when a signal from the driving BWO in (periodic or chaotic) self-modulation mode is applied to the driven oscillator, which exhibits strong periodic self-modulation in the autonomous case. The oscillation evolution with the amount of coupling is traced. The use of a chain of coupled BWOs is shown to significantly reduce the threshold of transition to the regime of wide-band chaotic oscillations with a uniform continuous spectrum (so-called fully developed chaos), which is of interest for applications.  相似文献

The characteristics of a possible radiation source in the vacuum-ultraviolet and soft X-ray range based on the transition radiation of electrons with an energy of about 100 keV are calculated. The possibilities of enhancing the radiation yield in the geometry of the glancing interaction of electrons with a target are analyzed. The possibility of creating a source with a yield on the order of 10?5 photon/(eV sr) per electron is demonstrated.  相似文献

The dimensions of input waveguide and output waveguide of arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) determine the crosstalk, insertion loss and 1-dB bandwidth. In cascaded optical add/drop multiplexers (OADMs), the value of these parameters will largely affect the power penalty of system. The power penalty of cascaded OADMs is calculated with different waveguide dimensions of AWGs in this paper. Considering of wavelength misalignment, an optimization design of AWGs is obtained.  相似文献
