In this paper, we propose a novel and efficient method for the preparation of various unsymmetrical benzils. We first demonstrate the nucleophilic aroylation of N-phenylbenzimidoyl chlorides with aromatic aldehydes using N-heterocyclic carbene as the catalyst to afford 1-aryl-2-phenyl-2-(phenylimino)ethanones. These iminoethanones were then converted to 1,2-diaryl-1,2-diketones by acid-promoted hydrolysis.  相似文献

N-Heterocyclic carbenes produced in situ from salts of imidazolium, benzimidazolium, pyrido[1,2-c]imidazolium, imidazolinium, thiazolium, and triazolium catalyze the addition of trimethylsilylcyanide to aldehydes to yield cyanohydrin trimethylsilyl ethers. The use of C2-symmetric imidazolidenyl carbene derived from (R,R)-1,3-bis[(1-naphthyl)ethyl]imidazolium chloride led to enantioselective cyanosilylation.  相似文献

We synthesized amphiphilic polymer-supported N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursor resins by loading polyethylene glycol (PEG) containing imidazolium groups on Merrifield resin. These PS-PEG-NHC precursor resins were compatible with water and readily formed a stable complex with palladium. These PS-PEG-NHC-Pd catalysts showed excellent catalytic activity for Suzuki cross-coupling reactions of various aryl iodides and bromides with phenylboronic acid in water than the previously described polystyrene based catalysts. In addition, the PS-PEG-NHC-Pd catalysts continued to provide excellent catalytic activity in Suzuki cross-coupling reactions after five consecutive recycles.  相似文献

The synthetic utility of N-heterocyclic carbenes was demonstrated by the trialkylsilylcyanation of aldehydes, ketones and imines. In the presence of a catalytic amount of 3a, the reactions with Me3SiCN proceeded smoothly to give the corresponding cyanohydrin trimethylsilyl ethers or amino nitrile derivatives in good to excellent yields.  相似文献

The reaction of allylic compounds with alkyl Grignard reagents in the presence of a catalytic amount of copper N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes proceeded predominantly in an SN2′ reaction pathway to give γ-substituted product in excellent yield. A core-shell type of polymer-supported N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) palladium catalyst was applied to Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions without copper cocatalyst under ambient atmosphere. This supported NHC-palladium complex efficiently catalyzed the copper-free Sonogashira reaction of various aryl iodides and bromides with terminal alkynes; the reaction exhibited high dependency on the temperature and the amount of base as well as its nature. In addition, this heterogeneous catalyst exhibited good reusability for the copper-free Sonogashira reaction.  相似文献

This paper describes how the nonpolar polymer polyisobutylene (PIB) can be used as a handle to prepare PIB-bound NHC ligands that are soluble in monophasic mixtures of mixed solvents but phase separable when such solvent systems are perturbed to be biphasic. The results here show that such PIB-bound NHC ligands can be used to synthesize useful palladium catalysts. In this paper, both PIB-bound analogs of an N,N′-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl) heterocyclic carbene and simpler N,N′-dialkyl heterocyclic carbene ligand were prepared and were successfully used to form palladium cross-coupling catalysts. The reactivity, recycling and reusability of these catalysts has been examined.  相似文献

Graphene oxide (GO) was functionalized with a N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursor, 3-(3-aminopropyl)-1-methylimidazolium bromide ([APMIm][Br]) for the immobilization of palladium catalyst. The GO-supported NHC precursor (IMGO) formed a stable complex with Pd(OAc)2 (GO–NHC–Pd), which showed excellent catalytic activity and fast reaction kinetics in the aqueous-phase Suzuki reaction of aryl bromides and chlorides at relatively mild conditions (1 h at 50 °C). The GO–NHC–Pd catalyst was reused several times without any loss of its catalytic activity in the Suzuki reaction of aryl bromide.  相似文献

The tandem sequence of the umpolung of α,β-unsaturated esters by an N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) followed by annulation is demonstrated. The deoxy-Breslow intermediates are selectively generated from the reaction of NHC with methyl methacrylate, dimethyl itaconate, or methyl crotonate. Subsequently, they undergo annulation with isocyanates to give 4-(1,2,4-triazol-5-ylidene)pyrrolidine-2,5-diones in good isolated yields. In addition, the stoichiometric three-component reaction of NHC, methyl methacrylate, and phenyl isocyanate proceeded, accompanied by the formation of the 1:2 adduct of NHC with phenyl isocyanate.  相似文献

N-Heterocyclic carbenes were used as efficient organocatalysts for the synthesis of glycerol carbonate from glycerol and dimethyl carbonate. The reaction takes place in a liquid mixture of reactants without solvent at room temperature. It provides glycerol carbonate in high yield using 2.6–4 mol % of catalyst in a reaction period of 20–30 min.  相似文献

New tetraimidazolinium and tetrabenzimidazolium salts have been prepared. Upon reaction with tBuOK, they generate carbene ligands, which were associated in situ to [RuCp*(MeCN)3]PF6 to produce new ruthenium catalysts that are active for the substitution of allylic substrates by amines, phenols, and carbonucleophiles. The influence of the N-heterocyclic core as well as that of the N-substitutents at the periphery of the salts, on reactivity and regioselectivity have been examined.  相似文献

Reactions of (IPr)Cu(X) (X = Cl or trifluoromethanesulfonate, IPr = 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene) complexes with the strong acids HOTf or HCl result in protonation of the C2 carbon of the IPr ligand to form imidazolium cations. Coordination of the imidazolium to the resulting CuI system depends upon the identity of the two counterions (chloride or triflate). The copper complexes [(IPrH)Cu(OTf)(μ-OTf)]2 and [IPrH][CuCl2] as well as the imidazolium salt [IPrH][OTf] have been characterized by NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.  相似文献

A simple N-acylimidazolium salt precursor to a NHC-complexed palladacyclic ligand gives high turnover numbers (>107) for Suzuki-Miyaura coupling and is applied to the preparation of biaryls used in the synthesis of coumarins. The bis(N,N′-diisopropylbenzimidazolin-2-ylidene)Pd(II) complexes trans-[PdBr2(iPr2-bimy)2] (trans-1) and trans-[PdI2(iPr2-bimy)2] (trans-2) have been prepared in good yields by in situ deprotonation of the corresponding N,N′-diisopropylbenzimidazolium salt (iPr2-bimyH+X) (A: X = Br, B: X = I) with Pd(OAc)2 in DMSO at elevated temperature. Salt metathesis of trans-1 or trans-2 with AgO2CCF3 in refluxing CH3CN afforded the novel mixed carbene-carboxylato complex cis-[Pd(O2CCF3)2(iPr2-bimy)2] (cis-3). This halo/trifluorocarboxylato ligand substitution can be regarded as a selective method for the synthesis of cis-configured bis(carbene) complexes. All compounds have been fully characterized by multinuclei NMR spectroscopies and ESI mass spectrometry. X-ray diffraction studies on single crystals of trans-1, trans-2 and cis-3 revealed a square planar geometry and a fixed orientation of the N-isopropyl substituents with the C-H protons pointing to the metal center to maximize rare C-H?Pd preagostic interactions. These interactions are also retained in solution as indicated by the large downfield shift of the isopropyl C-H protons in the 1H NMR spectrum compared to those in precursor salts A or B. A preliminary catalytic study revealed that all complexes are highly active in the Mizoroki-Heck coupling of aryl bromides and chlorides. However, these complexes gave slower conversions as compared to catalysts with less bulky benzimidazolin-2-ylidenes. This is most likely due to the steric bulk of the ligands, which hamper a fast reductive formation of catalytically active Pd(0) species.  相似文献

The reaction of [AuCl(SMe2)] with in situ generated [AgCl(iPr2-bimy)] (iPr2-bimy = 1,3-diisopropylbenzimidazolin-2-ylidene), which in turn was obtained by the reaction of Ag2O with 1,3-diisopropylbenzimidazolium bromide (iPr2-bimyH+Br, A), afforded the monocarbene Au(I) complex [AuCl(iPr2-bimy)] (1). Subsequent reaction of 1 and the ligand precursor iPr2-bimyH+BF4, (B) in acetone in the presence of K2CO3 yielded the bis(carbene) complex [Au(iPr2-bimy)2]BF4 (2) as a white powder in 80% yield. The oxidative addition of elemental iodine to complex 2 gave the bis(carbene) Au(III) complex trans-[AuI2(iPr2-bimy)2]BF4 (3) as an orange-red powder in 92% yield. All complexes 1-3 have been fully characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopies, ESI mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, and X-ray single crystal diffraction. Complexes 1 and 2 adopt a linear geometry around metal centers as expected for d10 metals. The geometry around the Au(III) metal center in 3 is essentially square-planar with two carbene ligands in trans-position to each other. Complex 3 shows absorption and photoluminescence properties owing to a ligand to metal charge transfer.  相似文献

Polymer supported palladium complexes, containing a pyridyl bis N-heterocyclic carbene ligand system derived from isonicotinic acid, provide highly stable catalysts for Heck and Suzuki cross coupling reactions.
