t The authors consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric such that the k-curvature defined by an elementary symmetric function of the eigenvalues of the Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor on a compact manifold with boundary to a prescribed function. A consequence of our main result is that there exists a complete metric such that the Monge-Amp~re type equation with respect to its Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor is solvable, provided that the initial Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor belongs to a negative convex cone.  相似文献

In this paper,a class of new geometric flows on a complete Riemannian manifold is defined. The new flow is related to the generalized(third order) Landau-Lifshitz equation. On the other hand it could be thought of as a special case of the Schr¨odinger-Airy flow when the target manifold is a K¨ahler manifold with constant holomorphic sectional curvature. We show the local existence of the new flow on a complete Riemannian manifold with some assumptions on Ricci tensor. Moreover,if the target manifolds are Einstein or some certain type of locally symmetric spaces,the global results are obtained.  相似文献

In this paper,we study the infinity behavior of the bounded subharmonic functions on a Ricci non-negative Riemannian manifold M.We first show that limr→∞r^2/V(r)∫B(r)△hdv=0if h is a bounded subharmonic function.If we further assume that the Laplacian decays pointwisely faster than quadratically we show that h approaches its supremun pointwisely at infinity,under certain auxiliary conditions on the volume growth of M.In particular,our result applies to the case when the Riemannian manifold has maximum volume growth.We also derive a representation formula in our paper,from which one can easily derive Yau‘s Liouville theorem on bounded harmonic functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider gradient estimates for positive solutions to the following weighted nonlinear parabolic equations on a complete smooth metric measure space with only Bakry-E′mery Ricci tensor bounded below: One is u_t=Δ_fu + aulogu+bu with a, b two real constants, and another is u_t = Δ_fu+λu~α with λ, α two real constants. We obtain local Hamilton-Souplet-Zhang type gradient estimates for the above two nonlinear parabolic equations. In particular, our estimates do not depend on any assumption on f.  相似文献

In this work,we study the convergence of evolving Finslerian metrics first in a general flow and next under Finslerian Ricci flow.More intuitively it is proved that a family of Finslerian metrics g(t)which are solutions to the Finslerian Ricci flow converges in C~∞ to a smooth limit Finslerian metric as t approaches the finite time T.As a consequence of this result one can show that in a compact Finsler manifold the curvature tensor along the Ricci flow blows up in a short time.  相似文献

Some of the variation formulas of a metric were derived in the literatures by using the local coordinates system, In this paper, We give the first and the second variation formulas of the Riemannian curvature tensor, Ricci curvature tensor and scalar curvature of a metric by using the moving frame method. We establish a relation between the variation of the volume of a metric and that of a submanifold. We find that the latter is a consequence of the former. Finally we give an application of these formulas to the variations of heat invariants. We prove that a conformally flat metric g is a critical point of the third heat invariant functional for a compact 4-dimensional manifold M, then (M, g) is either scalar flat or a space form.  相似文献

We prove that for a compact Finsler manifold M with nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature,if its first closed(resp.Neumann)eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian attains the sharp lower bound,then M is isometric to a circle(resp.a segment).Moreover,a lower bound of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian with Dirichlet boundary condition is also estimated.These generalize the corresponding results in recent literature.  相似文献

We study a special class of Finsler metrics,namely,Matsumoto metrics F=α2α-β,whereαis a Riemannian metric andβis a 1-form on a manifold M.We prove that F is a(weak)Einstein metric if and only ifαis Ricci flat andβis a parallel 1-form with respect toα.In this case,F is Ricci flat and Berwaldian.As an application,we determine the local structure and prove the 3-dimensional rigidity theorem for a(weak)Einstein Matsumoto metric.  相似文献

It is well known that the Einstein tensor G for a Riemannian manifold defined by G βα = R βα 1/2 Rδβα , R βα = g βγ R γα where R γα and R are respectively the Ricci tensor and the scalar curvature of the manifold, plays an important part in Einstein's theory of gravitation as well as in proving some theorems in Riemannian geometry. In this work, we first obtain the generalized Einstein tensor for a Weyl manifold. Then, after studying some properties of generalized Einstein tensor, we prove that the conformal invariance of the generalized Einstein tensor implies the conformal invariance of the curvature tensor of the Weyl manifold and conversely. Moreover, we show that such Weyl manifolds admit a one-parameter family of hypersurfaces the orthogonal trajectories of which are geodesics. Finally, a necessary and sufficient condition in order that the generalized circles of a Weyl manifold be preserved by a conformal mapping is stated in terms of generalized Einstein tensors at corresponding points.  相似文献

We derive the evolution equation for the eigenvalues of geometric operator-△φ+ c R under the Ricci flow and the normalized Ricci flow, where △φis the Witten-Laplacian operator, φ∈ C∞(M), and R is the scalar curvature with respect to the metric g(t). In this paper,we study the relation between the excess of open manifolds and their topology by using the methods of comparison geometry.We prove that a complete open Riemmannian manifold with Ricci curvature negatively lower bounded is of finite topological type provided that the conjugate radius is bounded from below by a positive constant and its Excess is bounded by some function of its conjugate radius,which improves some results in [4].  相似文献

We study symmetric tensor spaces and cones arising from polynomial optimization and physical sciences.We prove a decomposition invariance theorem for linear operators over the symmetric tensor space,which leads to several other interesting properties in symmetric tensor spaces.We then consider the positive semidefiniteness of linear operators which deduces the convexity of the Frobenius norm function of a symmetric tensor.Furthermore,we characterize the symmetric positive semidefinite tensor(SDT)cone by employing the properties of linear operators,design some face structures of its dual cone,and analyze its relationship to many other tensor cones.In particular,we show that the cone is self-dual if and only if the polynomial is quadratic,give specific characterizations of tensors that are in the primal cone but not in the dual for higher order cases,and develop a complete relationship map among the tensor cones appeared in the literature.  相似文献

It is shown that a germ of a holomorphic mapping sending a real-analytic generic submanifold of finite type into another is determined by its projection on the Segre variety of the target manifold. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for a germ of a mapping into the Segre variety of the target manifold to be the projection of a holomorphic mapping sending the source manifold into the target. A Riemannian manifold (M, g) is called Einstein manifold if its Ricci tensor satisfies r = c·g for some constant c. General existence results are hard to obtain, e.g., it is as yet unknown whether every compact manifold admits an Einstein metric. A natural approach is to impose additional homogeneous assumptions. M. Y. Wang and W. Ziller have got some results on compact homogeneous space G/H. They investigate standard homogeneous metrics, the metric induced by Killing form on G/H, and get some classification results. In this paper some more general homogeneous metrics on some homogeneous space G/H are studies, and a necessary and sufficient condition for this metric to be Einstein is given. The authors also give some examples of Einstein manifolds with non-standard homogeneous metrics.  相似文献

Biquadratic tensors play a central role in many areas of science.Examples include elastic tensor and Eshelby tensor in solid mechanics,and Riemannian curvature tensor in relativity theory.The singular values and spectral norm of a general third order tensor are the square roots of the M-eigenvalues and spectral norm of a biquadratic tensor,respectively.The tensor product operation is closed for biquadratic tensors.All of these motivate us to study biquadratic tensors,biquadratic decomposition,and norms of biquadratic tensors.We show that the spectral norm and nuclear norm for a biquadratic tensor may be computed by using its biquadratic structure.Then,either the number of variables is reduced,or the feasible region can be reduced.We show constructively that for a biquadratic tensor,a biquadratic rank-one decomposition always exists,and show that the biquadratic rank of a biquadratic tensor is preserved under an independent biquadratic Tucker decomposition.We present a lower bound and an upper bound of the nuclear norm of a biquadratic tensor.Finally,we define invertible biquadratic tensors,and present a lower bound for the product of the nuclear norms of an invertible biquadratic tensor and its inverse,and a lower bound for the product of the nuclear norm of an invertible biquadratic tensor,and the spectral norm of its inverse.  相似文献
