Oscillation Result for Some Non-homogeneous Linear Differential Equations and Its Application

This paper investigates solutions of some non-homogeneous linear differential equations, which have non-homogeneous term as the small function of solution. Using the similar method, we can generalize the result of G.Gundersen and L.Z.Yang.

Unbounded Perturbations of C0-Semigroups on Banach Spaces and Applications

In this paper we prove a perturbation result for strongly continuous semigroups extending one of G. Weiss from Hilbert to Banach spaces. This allows us to establish a new variation of constants formula for non-homogeneous perturbed Cauchy problems. From this formula we deduce another new one for non-homogeneous functional differential equations with L^p-phase spaces in terms of Yosida extensions of delay operators.

On a non-homogeneous bi-layer shallow-water problem: smoothness and uniqueness results

In this paper, we present several results for a non-homogeneous bi-layer shallow-water model in depth-mean velocity formulation. The homogeneous case was studied in (Nonlinear Anal.: Real World Appl. 4(1) (2003) 139–171). In (On a non-homogeneous bi-layer shallow water problem: an existence theorem, Diff. and Integral Equations 17 (9–10) (2004) 1175–1200) we proved the existence of a solution for the non-homogeneous problem and now we give some smoothness and uniqueness results. The main difficulties in the non-homogeneous case arise from the treatment of the boundary terms.

Immersed Interface Finite Element Methods for Elasticity Interface Problems with Non-Homogeneous Jump Conditions

<正>In this paper,a class of new immersed interface finite element methods (IIFEM) is developed to solve elasticity interface problems with homogeneous and non-homogeneous jump conditions in two dimensions.Simple non-body-fitted meshes are used.For homogeneous jump conditions,both non-conforming and conforming basis functions are constructed in such a way that they satisfy the natural jump conditions. For non-homogeneous jump conditions,a pair of functions that satisfy the same non-homogeneous jump conditions are constructed using a level-set representation of the interface.With such a pair of functions,the discontinuities across the interface in the solution and flux are removed;and an equivalent elasticity interface problem with homogeneous jump conditions is formulated.Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate that such methods have second order convergence.

Bloch wave homogenization of a non-homogeneous Neumann problem

In this paper, we use the Bloch wave method to study the asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Laplace equation in a periodically perforated domain, under a non-homogeneous Neumann condition on the boundary of the holes, as the size of the holes goes to zero more rapidly than the domain period. This method allows to prove that, when the hole size exceeds a given threshold, the non-homogeneous boundary condition generates an additional term in the homogenized problem, commonly referred to as “the strange term” in the literature.

Study of a nonlinear Kirchhoff equation with non-homogeneous material

In this paper we study a non-homogeneous elliptic Kirchhoff equation with nonlinear reaction term. We analyze the existence and uniqueness of positive solution. The main novelty is the inclusion of non-homogeneous term making the problem without a variational structure. We use mainly bifurcation arguments to get the results.

Clifford algebras and new singular Riemannian foliations in spheres

Using representations of Clifford algebras we construct indecomposable singular Riemannian foliations on round spheres, most of which are non-homogeneous. This generalises the construction of non-homogeneous isoparametric hypersurfaces due to by Ferus, Karcher and Münzner.
