The complexes of Cr(III), Mn(II) and Ni(II) were synthesized with macrocyclic ligand i.e. 5,11-dimethyl-6,12-diethyl-dione-1,2,4,7,9,10-hexazacyclododeca -1,4,6,10-tetraene. The ligand (L) was prepared by [2+2] condensation reaction of 2,3-pentanedione and semicarbazide hydrochloride. These complexes were found to have the general composition [Cr(L)X(2)]X and [M(L)X(2)] (where M=Mn(II) and Ni(II); X=Cl(-), NO(3)(-), (1/2)SO(4)(2-), NCS(-) and L=ligand [N(6)]). The ligand and its transition metal complexes were characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for these complexes except sulphato complexes which are of five coordinated geometry.  相似文献

Four new azo ligands, L1 and HL2-4, of sulfa drugs have been prepared and characterized. [MX(2)(L1)(H(2)O)(m)].nH(2)O; [(MX(2))(2)(HL2 or HL3)(H(2)O)(m)].nH(2)O and [M(2)X(3)(L4)(H(2)O)].nH(2)O; M=Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) (X=Cl) and Zn(II) (X=AcO); m=0-4 and n=0-3, complexes were prepared. Elemental and thermal analyses (TGA and DTA), IR, solid reflectance spectra, magnetic moment and molar conductance measurements have accomplished characterization of the complexes. The IR data reveal that HL1 and HL2-3 ligands behave as a bidentate neutral ligands while HL4 ligand behaves as a bidentate monoionic ligand. They coordinated to the metal ions via the carbonyl O, enolic sulfonamide S(O)OH, pyrazole or thiazole N and azo N groups. The molar conductance data reveal that the chelates are non-electrolytes. From the solid reflectance spectra and magnetic moment data, the complexes were found to have octahedral, tetrahedral and square planar geometrical structures. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that the water molecules (hydrated and coordinated) and the anions are removed in a successive two steps followed immediately by decomposition of the ligand in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as, E*, DeltaH*, DeltaS* and DeltaG* are calculated from the TG curves applying Coats-Redfern method.  相似文献

The Schiff base hydrazone ligand HL was prepared by the condensation reaction of 7-chloro-4-quinoline with o-hydroxyacetophenone. The ligand behaves either as monobasic bidentate or dibasic tridentate and contain ONN coordination sites. This was accounted for be the presence in the ligand of a phenolic azomethine and imine groups. It reacts with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II), UO(2) (VI) and Fe(II) to form either mono- or binuclear complexes. The ligand and its metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, NMR, Mass, and UV-Visible spectra. The magnetic moments and electrical conductance of the complexes were also determined. The Co(II), Ni(II) and UO(2) (VI) complexes are mononuclear and coordinated to NO sites of two ligand molecules. The Cu(II) complex has a square-planar geometry distorted towards tetrahedral, the Ni(II) complex is octahedral while the UO(2) (VI) complex has its favoured heptacoordination. The Co(II), Mn(II) complexes and also other Ni(II) and Fe(III) complexes, which were obtained in the presence of Li(OH) as deprotonating agent, are binuclear and coordinated via the NNNO sites of two ligand molecules. All the binuclear complexes have octahedral geometries and their magnetic moments are quite low compared to the calculated value for two metal ions complexes and thus antiferromagnetic interactions between the two adjacent metal ions. The ligand HL and metal complexes were tested against a strain of Gram +ve bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), Gram -ve bacteria (Escherichia coli), and fungi (Candida albicans). The tested compounds exhibited high antibacterial activities.  相似文献

The Schiff base ligand, N,N'-bis-(2-furancarboxaldimine)-3,3'-diaminobenzidene (L) obtained by condensation of 2-furaldehyde and 3,3'-diaminobenzidene, was used to synthesize the mononuclear complexes of the type, [M(L)](NO3)2 [M=Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)]. The newly synthesized ligand, (L) and its complexes have been characterized on the basis of the results of the elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements and spectroscopic studies viz, FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR, mass, UV-vis and EPR. EPR, UV-vis and magnetic moment data revealed a square planar geometry for the complexes with distortion in Cu(II) complex and conductivity data show a 1:2 electrolytic nature of the complexes. Absorption and fluorescence spectroscopic studies support that Schiff base ligand, L and its Cu(II) and Zn(II) complex exhibit significant binding to calf thymus DNA. The highest binding affinity in case of L may be due to the more open structure as compared to the metal coordinated complexes.  相似文献

Solid complexes have been prepared and characterized by IR, UV-Vis, elemental analysis, and 1H NMR. Indomethacin forms complexes with Cd(II), Ce(III), and Th(IV) ions in molar ratios (ligand: metal) (2: 1), (3: 1), and (4: 1), respectively. The IR spectra of the complexes suggest that the Indomethacin behaves as a monobasic monodentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the deprotonated carboxylate group. Prepared complexes exhibit higher antimicrobial activity against several microorganisms, compared to free ligand.  相似文献

A new binucleating ligand incorporating four oxime groups, butane-2,3-dione O-[4-aminooxy-2,3-bis-(2-hydroxyimino-1-methyl-propylideneaminooxymethyl)-but-2-enyl]-dioxime, (H4mto), has been synthesized and its dinuclear cobalt(III), copper(II), and homo- and hetero-tetranuclear copper(II)–manganese(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized by 1H- and 13C-n.m.r., i.r., magnetic moments and mass spectral studies. Elemental analyses, stoichiometric and spectroscopic data indicate that the metal ions in the complexes are coordinated to the oxime nitrogen atoms (C=N) and the data support the proposed structure for H4mto and its complexes. Moreover, dinuclear cobalt(III) and copper(II) complexes of H4mto have a 2:1 metal:ligand ratio.  相似文献

The synthesis and structural characterization of mixed ligand complexes derived from 2,6-pyridinedicarboxaldehydebis(o-hydroxyphenylimine), 2,6-pyridinedicarboxaldehydebis(p-hydroxyphenylimine) (1(ry) ligands) and 2-aminopyridne (2(ry) ligand) are reported. The ligands and their transition metal complexes were characterized on the bases of their elemental analyses, IR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance and thermal analysis (TGA). The mixed ligand complexes are formed in the 1:1:1 (M:L(1) or L(2):L') ratio as found from the elemental analyses and found to have the formulae [MX(2)(L(1) or L(2))(L')].nH(2)O where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), L(1) = 2,6-pyridinedicarboxaldehydebis(p-hydroxyphenylimine), L(2) = 2,6-pyridine dicarboxaldehydebis(o-hydroxyphenylimine), L' = 2-aminopyridine, X = Cl(-) in case of Cu(II) complex and Br(-) in case of Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes and y = 0-3. The molar conductance data reveal that the chelates are non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that the Schiff bases are coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate manner with NNN donor sites of the pyridine-N and two azomethine-N. While 2-aminopyridine coordinated to the metal ions via its pyridine-N. Magnetic and solid reflectance spectra are used to infer the coordinating capacity of the ligand and the geometrical structure of these complexes are found to be octahedral. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that the hydrated water molecules and the anions are removed in a successive two steps followed immediately by decomposition of the ligands (L(1), L(2) and L') in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as, E*, DeltaH*, DeltaS* and DeltaG* are calculated from the TG curves and discussed. The ligands and their metal chelates have been screened for their antimicrobial activities and the findings have been reported, explained and compared with some known antibiotics.  相似文献

A novel naringenin Schiff base ligand (1,2-di(4'-iminonaringenin)ethane, H6L) and its three transition metal complexes [Cu(II) complex (1), Zn(II) complex (2), and Ni(II) complex (3)] have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductivity, 1H-NMR, mass spectra, UV-vis spectra, and IR spectra. The DNA-binding properties of the ligand and its complexes have been investigated by absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, ethidium bromide (EB) displacement experiments, and viscosity measurement. The results indicated that the ligand and its complexes can bind to DNA. The binding affinity of the Cu(II) complex (1) is higher than that of the ligand and the other two complexes. The intrinsic binding constant (Kb) of the complex (1) is 3.3x10(6). In addition, the suppression ratio for O2-. and HO. was determined. The 50% inhibition obtained for the ligand and its three complexes demonstrates that, compared to the ligand, the complexes exhibit higher antioxidative activity in the suppression of O2-. and HO..  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes with a new azamacrocyclic tetradentate [N(4)] ligand i.e. 2,3,9,10-tetraphenyl;l,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradeca;1,3,8,10-tetraene (L) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, (1)HNMR, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. On the basis of their non-electrolytic nature, the probable formula of the complexes is proposed to be [M(L)X(2)], where M=Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II), X=Cl(-) and NO(3)(-), in dimethylformamide (DMF). All the complexes are of high-spin type and found to have six coordinated, octahedral geometry for Mn(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes, and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. Macrocyclic ligand and its complexes have also been screened against pathogenic bacteria and fungi in vitro as growth inhibiting agent.  相似文献

A series of complexes of the type [M(L)(dppe)X2]; where M=Zn(II) or Cd(II); L=4-(2'-thiazolylazo)chlorobenzene (L1), 4-(2'-thiazolylazo)bromobenzene (L2) and 4-(2'-thiazolylazo) iodobenzene (L3); dppe=1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane; X=N3- or NCS- have been prepared and characterized on the basis of their microanalysis, molar conductance, thermal, IR, UV-vis and 1H NMR spectral studies. IR spectra show that the ligand L is coordinated to the metal atom in bidentate manner via azo nitrogen and thiazole nitrogen. An octahedral structure is proposed for all the complexes. The thermal behavior of the complexes revealed that the thiocyanato complexes are thermally more stable than the azido complexes. All the complexes exhibit blue-green emission with high quantum yield as the result of the fluorescence from the intraligand emission excited state.  相似文献

Two Schiff base ligands bearing organic acid moiety, vis., N-(2-thienylmethylidene)-2-amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid (HL(1)) and N-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid (H(2)L(2)) have been synthesized by the interaction of 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde and 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde with 2-amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid. Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of these ligands have been prepared. They are characterized on the basis of analytical data, molar conductance, IR, (1)H NMR, UV-vis, mass spectra, magnetic measurements, thermal analysis and X-ray powder diffraction technique. The molar conductance data reveal that these complexes are non-electrolytes. The ligands are coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate manner with ONO/ONS donor sites of the carbonyl oxygen, azomethine nitrogen and phenolic oxygen or thiophenic sulphur. An octahedral structure is proposed for the prepared metal complexes and some ligand field parameters (D(q), B and beta) in addition to CFSE were calculated. The thermal stability of the metal complexes is evaluated. The Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes have been tested against four species of bacteria as well as four species of fungi and the results have been compared with some known antibiotics.  相似文献

Three new metal complexes [Cu(L)2] (1), [Co(L)2] (2) and [Zn(L)2] (3) have been prepared by the reaction of hydrated salts of metal (II) acetate with new Schiff base ligand HL, [2‐((4‐(dimethylamino)phenylimino)methyl)‐4,6‐di‐t‐butylphenol] and characterized by different physico‐chemical analyses such as elemental analysis, single XRD, 1H NMR, FTIR and UV–Vis spectroscopic techniques. Their biomolecular docking, antimicrobial and cytotoxicity studies have also been demonstrated. The proposed structure of Schiff base ligand HL and complex 2 are confirmed by Single crystal X‐ray crystallography study. This analysis revealed that metal (II) complexes remain in distorted tetrahedral coordination environments. The electronic properties such as HOMO and LUMO energies are carried out by gaseous phase DFT/B3LYP calculations using Gaussian 09 program. Complex 1 showed a good binding propensity to the DNA and HSA, during the assessment of docking studies. Schiff base ligand HL and its metal (II) complexes, 1–3 screened for their in vitro antimicrobial activities using the disc diffusion method against selected microbes. Complex 1 shows higher antimicrobial activity than complexes 2, 3 and Schiff base ligand HL. According to the results obtained from the cytotoxic studies, Schiff base ligand HL and its metal (II) complexes 1–3 have better cytotoxicity against MCF‐7 cell lines with potency higher than the currently used chemotherapeutic agent cyclophosphamide.  相似文献

A new ligand, naringenin-2-hydroxy benzoyl hydrazone (H(5)L), was prepared by condensation of naringenin with 2-hydroxy benzoyl hydrazine. Its Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) complexes have also been synthesized and characterized on the basis of (1)H-NMR, IR, UV-Vis spectra, elemental analyses, molar conductivity and thermal analyses. The general formula of these complexes was M(H(3)L) [M=Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II)]. In addition, the antioxidant activities (superoxide and hydroxyl radical) of the free ligand and its complexes were determined in vitro. These compounds were found to possess potent antioxidant activity and be better than standard antioxidants like vitamin C and mannitol. In particular, the Cu(II) complex displayed excellent activity on the superoxide radical.  相似文献

Cobalt (II), nickel (II), copper (II) and manganese (II) complexes of dihydrazone derived from the condensation of oxaloyldihydrazide with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde have been synthesized. The dihydrazone ligand/chelates were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses, spectral (UV–Vis., FT-IR, mass, 1H NMR), magnetism, thermal (TGA) measurements and structures of the compounds have been established. The surface morphology of the desired complexes was studied by SEM. The ligand is coordinated to the Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cu(II) centers in bi, tetra, penta and hexadentate way giving mono-nuclear complexes except in case of manganese and copper the bi-nuclear complexes were formed. The nickel complex has tetrahedral geometry while the other complexes are suggested to have octahedral configurations. The prepared samples have been assayed for their electrical activities. The electrical activity (DC and AC conductivity) for ligand and its metal complexes has been examined at different frequencies (1, 10, 100 kHz) in the temperature ranges 303–573 and 300–625 K, respectively. The DC and AC conductivity are viewed as thermally activated process at higher temperatures and a marked increment was seen in case of Mn(II) complex. The dielectric permittivity was determined in the temperature area of 300–625 K and diminished with augmentation of frequency proposing a typical behavior of dielectrics.  相似文献

The Schiff base ligand, N,N′-bis-(4-isopropylbenzaldimine)-1,2-diaminoethane (L), obtained by the condensation of 4-isopropylbenzaldehyde and 1,2-diaminoethane, has been used to synthesize the complexes of the type [ML2X2] [M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II); X = Cl and OAc]. The newly synthesized ligand (L) and its complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, mass, 1H and 13C-NMR, molar conductance, IR, UV–vis, magnetic moment, CV and thermal analyses, powder XRD and SEM. IR spectral data show that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a bidentate manner. The geometrical structures of these complexes are found to be octahedral. Interestingly, reaction with Cu(II) ion with this ligand undergoes hydrolytic cleavage to form ethylenediamine copper(II) complex and the corresponding aldehyde. The antimicrobial results indicate that the chloro complexes exhibit more activity than the acetato complexes. The complexes bind to CT–DNA by intercalation modes. Novel chloroform soluble ZnL2Cl2 complex exhibits tremendous antimicrobial, DNA binding and cleaving properties.  相似文献

Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes having the general composition [M(L)(2)X(2)] [where L=2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde thiosemicarbazone, M=Ni(II) and Cu(II), X=Cl(-), NO(3)(-) and 1/2 SO(4)(2-)] have been synthesized. All the metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moment, mass, IR, EPR and electronic spectral studies. The magnetic moment measurements of the complexes indicate that all the complexes are of high-spin type. On the basis of spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Ni(II) complexes whereas tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) except [Cu(L)(2)SO(4)] which posseses five coordinated geometry. The ligand and its metal complexes were screened against phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria in vitro.  相似文献

The transition metal complex of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Ti(III), Cr(III), Fe(III), Zr(IV), and UO2(VI) ion with a Schiff’s base ligand derived from 2-hydroxy-[2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-3H-indol-3-ylidene]-benzohydrazide have been prepared. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis data, IR and electronic absorption spectra, magnetic moments, and thermogravimetric analysis data. The complexes of the 1: 1 metal-to-ligand stoichiometry have been formed. The physico-chemical data have suggested the octahedral geometry for all the complexes except for Cu(II); the Cu(II) complex has been square planar. Thermal analysis data of the ligand and its complexes have been analyzed, and the kinetic parameters have been determined using the Horowitz–Metzger method. According to the solid-state electrical conductivity measurements, the ligand and its complexes are semiconducting in nature. The antimicrobial activity of the ligand and the complexes towards E. coli, S. typhi, P. aeruginosa, and S. aureus has been tested by the disc diffusion method.  相似文献

A new 1,4-piperazine-bis-dithiocarbamate sodium salt and its metal complexes have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibilities, thermal analyses (TG and DTG) and spectroscopic (i.r., electronic and EPR) techniques. The ligand is tetrasulphur coordinated to the metals in polymeric structures. The magnetic measurements are indicative of one unpaired electron in the copper(II) complex; a μ value typical of planar low-spin complexes has been obtained in the case of the cobalt(II) derivative, while a distortion from the planarity is suggested in the case of the nickel(II) complex. Tentative structures of the complexes are proposed on the basis of the obtained results.  相似文献

Novel hexachlorocyclodiphosph(V)azane of sulfaguanidine, H(4)L, l,3-[N'-amidino-sulfanilamide]-2,2,2,4,4,4-hexachlorocyclodiphosph(V)azane was prepared and its coordination behaviour towards the transition metal ions Fe(III), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and UO(2)(II) was studied. The structures of the isolated products are proposed based on elemental analyses, IR, UV-vis, (1)H NMR, mass spectra, reflectance, magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The hyperfine interactions in the isolated complex compounds were studied using 14.4keV gamma-ray from radioactive (57)Co (M?ssbauer spectroscopy). The data show that the ligand are coordinated to the metal ions via the sulfonamide O and deprotonated NH atoms in an octahedral manner. The H(4)L ligand forms complexes of the general formulae [(MX(z))(2)(H(2)L)H(2)O)(n)] and [(FeSO(4))(2) (H(4)L) (H(2)O)(4)], where X=NO(3) in case of UO(2)(II) and Cl in case of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II). The molar conductance data show that the complexes are non-electrolytes. The thermal behaviour of the complexes was studied and different thermodynamic parameters were calculated using Coats-Redfern method. Most of the prepared complexes showed high bactericidal activity and some of the complexes show more activity compared with the ligand and standards.  相似文献
