Starting from the phase space path integral, we have derived the Ward identities in canonical formalism for a system with regular and singular Lagrangian. This formulation differs from the traditional discussion based on path integral in configuration space. It is pointed out that the quantum canonical equations for systems with singular Lagrangians are different from the classical ones obtained from Dirac's conjecture, The preliminary applications of Ward identities in phase space to the Yang-Mills theory are given. Some relations among the proper vertices and propagators are deduced, the PCAC, AVV vertices and generalized PCAC expressions are also obtained. We have also pointed out that some authors in their early work had ignored the treatment of the constraints.  相似文献

Exact results are given for the propagators of axial and vector divergences at the two-loop level of dimensionally regularized quantum chromodynamics. We prove that any combination of propagators that vanishes at zero momentum by virtue of Ward identifies is free of subtractions and satisfies a superconvergence relation. Sum rules for other combinations will, however, involve unknown non-perturbative constants.  相似文献

In the new framework of gravitational quantum field theory(GQFT) with spin and scaling gauge invariance developed in Phys. Rev. D 93(2016) 024012-1, we make a perturbative expansion for the full action in a background field which accounts for the early inflationary universe. We decompose the bicovariant vector fields of gravifield and spin gauge field with Lorentz and spin symmetries SO(1,3) and SP(1,3) in biframe spacetime into SO(3) representations for deriving the propagators of the basic quantum fields and extract their interaction terms. The leading order Feynman rules are presented. A tree-level 2 to 2 scattering amplitude of the Dirac fermions, through a gravifield and a spin gauge field, is calculated and compared to the Born approximation of the potential. It is shown that the Newton's gravitational law in the early universe is modified due to the background field. The spin dependence of the gravitational potential is demonstrated.  相似文献

A simple algorithm to construct the generator of gauge transformation for a constrained canonical system with a singular higher-order Lagrangian in field theories is developed. Based on phase-space generating functional of Green function for such a system, the generalized canonical Ward identities under the non-local transformation have been deduced. For the gauge-invariant system, based on configuration-space generating functional, the generalized Ward identities under the non-local transformation have been also derived. The conservation laws are deduced at the quantum level. The applications of the above results to the gauge invariance massive vector field and non-Abelian Chern–Simons(CS) theories with higher-order derivatives are given, a new form of gauge-ghost proper vertices, and Ward–Takahashi identity under BRS transformation and BRS charge at the quantum level are obtained. In the canonical formulation one does not need to carry out the integration over canonical momenta in phase-space path integral as usually performed.  相似文献

We derive the transverse Ward-Takahashi identities(WTI) of N-dimensional quantum electrodynamics by means of the canonical quantization method and the path integration method, and subsequently attempt to prove that QED_3 is solvable based on the transverse and longitudinal WTI, indicating that the full vector and tensor vertices functions can be expressed in terms of the fermion propagators in QED_3. Further, we discuss the effect of different γ matrix representations on the full vertex function.  相似文献

The theme of doing quantum mechanics on all Abelian groups goes back to Schwinger and Weyl. If the group is a vector space of finite dimension over a non-Archimedean locally compact division ring, it is of interest to examine the structure of dynamical systems defined by Hamiltonians analogous to those encountered over the field of real numbers. In this Letter, a path integral formula for the imaginary time propagators of these Hamiltonians is derived.  相似文献

The quantization for a system containing subsidiary constraints (in configuration space) with a singular Lagrangian is studied, in certain case which can be brought into the theoretical framework of constrained Hamiltonian system. A modified Dirac-Bergmann algorithm for the calculation of all phase-space constraints in those systems is derived. The path integral quantization is formulated by using the Faddeev-Senjanovic scheme. The classical and quantum canonical symmetries (Noether theorem in canonical formalism) are established for such a system. An example is given to illustrate that the connection between the symmetry and conservation law in classical theory are not always validity in the quantum theory.  相似文献

Stochastically and intrinsically extended non relativistic quantum particles are described by combining the ideas of a stochastic quantum theory and a quantum functional theory. The former relates the extension to imperfect real measurements while the latter considers it as intrinsic. Physical states, Positive-Operator-Valued measures connected to measurement, and propagators are given and discussed. The stochastic theory is sufficient when the bilocal field describing the particle has a product form.  相似文献

Relativistic propagators, the natural tools in field theory to describe the space-time development of a quantum system, are used to study correlations and interferences present in the neutral kaon system due to time-reversal violations. The method allows for a general wave-packet treatment of the problem. While standard results are obtained for singleK decays, quite different results are derived for the interference phase in two kaon decays such as those at DAΦNE.  相似文献

The time-path method in finite temperature field theory is extended to arbitrary covariant fields. Explicit expressions for the free thermal propagators are obtained using the multi-mass Klein-Gordon divisor. The key formula which shows that the interacting theory is free of singularities is derived. Finally, a simple method for the determination of free massless propagators is given.  相似文献

In this paper we present a study of the renormalization problem in a finite quantum field theory with shadow states for a system of a physical scalar field interacting with a physical fermion field. In order to make the theory finite, two fermion shadow fields are introduced. We observe that the stability criterion of renormalization can not be satisfied simultaneously by both physical fields and shadow fields, if the finiteness of the theory is to be maintained. A physical interpretation of this result is given. Furthermore, we find that the effective complete propagators for large space-like momenta behave like free field propagators without the logarithmic factors observed in the non-abelian gauge theory.  相似文献

Based on the phase-space path integral (functional integral) for a system with a regular or singular Lagrangian, the generalized Ward identities for phase space generating functional under the global transformation in phase space are derived respectively. The canonical Noether theorem at the quantum level is also established. It is pointed out that the connection between the symmetries and conservation laws in classical theories, in general,is no longer preserved in quantum theories. The advantage of our formulation is that we do not need to carry out the integration over the canonical momenta as usually performed. Applying the present formulation to Yang-Mills theory, the quantal BRS conserved quantity and Ward-Takahashi identity for BRS tranformation are derived; the Ward identities for gaugeghost proper vertices and new quantal conserved quantity are also found. In comparison of quantal conservation laws with those one deriving from configuration-space path integral using the Faddeev-Popov(F-P) trick is discussed. A precise study of path-integral quantisation for a nonlinear sigma model with Hopf and Chern-Simons (CS) terms is reexamined. It has been shown that the angular momentum at the quantum level is equal to classical (Noether ) one. Applying our formulation to non-Abelian CS theory, the quantal conserved angular momentum of this system is obtained which differs from classical one in that one needs to take into account the contribution of angular momenta of ghost fields.  相似文献

This is an English translation of A. Lichnerowicz’ 1964 paper “Propagateurs, commutateurs et anticommutateurs en relativité générale”. It was based on lectures at a Les Houches school, and gave a classic summary of the author’s work on quantum propagators in curved space-times, introducing tensorial and spinorial propagators which generalise the flat space propagators of Jordan and Pauli. It gives the quantum commutators for the Maxwell and Dirac fields and for perturbations of the gravitational field, and numerous intermediate formulae. The results are basic to quantum field theory in curved space-times. The paper has been selected by the Editors of General Relativity and Gravitation for re-publication in the Golden Oldies series of the journal. This republication is accompanied by an editorial note written by G. Esposito and by a brief biography written by M. A. H. MacCallum.  相似文献

Quantization theory gives rise to transverse phonons for the traditional Coulomb gauge condition and to scalar and longitudinal photons for the Lorentz gauge condition. We describe a new approach to quantize the general singular QED system by decomposing a general gauge potential into two orthogonal components in general field theory, which preserves scalar and longitudinal photons. Using these two orthogonal components, we obtain an expansion of the gauge-invariant Lagrangian density, from which we deduce the two orthogonal canonical momenta conjugate to the two components of the gauge potential. We then obtain the canonical Hamiltonian in the phase space and deduce the inherent constraints. In terms of the naturally deduced gauge condition, the quantization results are exactly consistent with those in the traditional Coulomb gauge condition and superior to those in the Lorentz gauge condition. Moreover, we find that all the nonvanishing quantum commutators are permanently gauge-invariant. A system can only be measured in physical experiments when it is gauge-invariant. The vanishing longitudinal vector potential means that the gauge invariance of the general QED system cannot be retained. This is similar to the nucleon spin crisis dilemma, which is an example of a physical quantity that cannot be exactly measured experimentally. However, the theory here solves this dilemma by keeping the gauge invariance of the general QED system.  相似文献

The alternative dynamics of loop quantum cosmology is examined by the path integral formulation. We consider the spatially flat FRW models with a massless scalar field, where the alternative quantizations inherit more features from full loop quantum gravity. The path integrals can be formulated in both timeless and deparameterized frameworks. It turns out that the effective Hamiltonians derived from the two different viewpoints are equivalent to each other. Moreover, the first-order modified Friedmann equations are derived and predict quantum bounces for contracting universe, which coincide with those obtained in canonical theory.  相似文献

The elementary particles of relativistic quantum field theory are not simple field quanta, as has long been assumed. Rather, they supplement quantum fields, on which they depend on but to which they are not reducible, as shown here with particles defined instead as a unified collection of properties that appear in both physical symmetry group representations and field propagators. This notion of particle provides consistency between the practice of particle physics and its basis in quantum field theory.  相似文献

Based on the phase-space generating functionalof the Green function, the canonical Ward identities(CWI) under local, nonlocal, and global transformationsin phase space for a system with a regular and singular Lagrangian have been derived. Therelation of global canonical symmetries to conservationlaws at the quantum level is presented. The advantage ofthis formulation is that one does not need to carry out the integration over canonicalmomenta in a phase-space path (functional) integral asin the traditional treatment in configuration space. Ingeneral, the connection between global canonicalsymmetries and conservation laws in classical theories isno longer preserved in quantum theories. Applications ofour formulation to the non-Abelian Chern-Simons (CS)theory are given, and new forms for CS gauge-ghost field proper vertices and the quantal conservedangular momentum of this system are obtained; thisangular momentum differs from the classical one in thatone needs to take into account the contribution of angular momenta of ghost fields.  相似文献
