This paper reports measurements of densities for the binary systems of an ionic liquid and an alkanol at T = (298.15, 303.15, and 313.15) K. The IL is trioctylmethylammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [OMA]+[Tf2N]? and the alkanols are methanol, or ethanol, or 1-propanol. The speed of sound at T = 298.15 K for the same binary systems was also measured. The excess molar volumes and the isentropic compressibilities for the above systems were then calculated from the experimental densities and the speed of sound, respectively. Redlich–Kister smoothing polynomial equation was used to fit the excess molar volume and the deviation in isentropic compressibility data. The partial molar volumes were determined from the Redlich–Kister coefficients. For all the systems studied, the excess molar volumes have both negative and positive values, while the deviations in isentropic compressibility are negative over the entire composition range.  相似文献

Densities of binary mixtures of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)morpholine with ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, and 2-butanol were measured over the entire composition range at temperatures from (293.15 to 323.15) K and atmospheric pressure using a vibrating-tube densimeter. The excess molar volumes, VE were calculated from density data and fitted to the Redlich–Kister polynomial equation. Apparent molar volumes, partial molar volume at infinite dilution and the thermal expansion coefficient of the mixtures were also calculated. The VE values were found to be negative over the entire composition range and at all temperatures studied and become less negative with increasing carbon chain length of the alkanols.  相似文献

(Vapour + liquid) equilibria data of (di-isopropyl ether + 1-butanol + benzene), (di-isopropyl ether + 1-butanol) and (1-butanol + benzene) have been measured at T = 313.15 K using an isothermal total pressure cell. Data reduction by Barker’s method provides correlations for the excess molar Gibbs energy using the Margules equation for the binary systems and the Wohl expansion for the ternary. The Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC models have been applied successfully to both the binary and the ternary systems reported here.  相似文献

Vapour pressures of (1-chlorobutane  +  1-butanol, or 2-methyl-2-propanol) at several temperatures between T =  278.15 and T =  323.15 K were measured by a static method. Reduction of the vapour pressures to obtain activity coefficients and excess molar Gibbs energies was carried out by fitting the vapour pressure data to the Redlich–Kister equation according to Barker’s method. For (1-chlorobutane  +  2-methyl-2-propanol) azeotropic mixtures with a minimum boiling temperature were observed over the whole temperature range.  相似文献

Experimental excess molar enthalpies of the ternary systems {dibutyl ether (DBE) + 1-butanol + heptane} and the corresponding binary systems at T = 298.15 K and T = 313.15 K at atmospheric pressure are reported. A quasi-isothermal flow calorimeter has been used to make the measurements. All the binary and the ternary systems show endothermic character. The experimental data for the binary and ternary systems have been fitted using the Redlich–Kister equation, the NRTL and UNIQUAC models. The values of the standard deviation indicate good agreement between the experimental results and those calculated from the equations.  相似文献

Excess molar enthalpies for the ternary system 1,4-dioxane (1) + n-octane (2) + cyclohexane (3) and for the three constituent binary systems have been measured by a Calvet microcalorimeter at 303.15 K and ambient pressure. The experimental binary results were fitted by the Redlich–Kister equation. The excess molar enthalpies of the ternary system were correlated using the Cibulka equation. The DISQUAC group contribution model was applied to predict the excess molar enthalpy for this mixture.  相似文献

New experimental excess molar enthalpy data of the ternary systems (dibutyl ether + 1-propanol + benzene, or toluene), and the corresponding binary systems at T = (298.15 and 313.15) K at atmospheric pressure are reported. A quasi-isothermal flow calorimeter has been used to make the measurements. All the binary and ternary systems show endothermic character at both temperatures. The experimental data for the systems have been fitted using the Redlich–Kister rational equation. Considerations with respect the intermolecular interactions amongst ether, alcohol and hydrocarbon compounds are presented.  相似文献

The experimental densities for the binary systems of an ionic liquid and an alkanol {1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylsulfate [EMIM]+ [EtSO4]? + methanol or 1-propanol or 2-propanol} were determined at T = (298.15, 303.15, and 313.15) K. The excess molar volumes for the above systems were then calculated from the experimental density values for each temperature. The Redlich–Kister smoothing polynomial was used to fit the experimental results and the partial molar volumes were determined from the Redlich–Kister coefficients. For all the systems studied, the excess molar volume results were negative over the entire composition range for all the temperatures. The excess molar volumes were correlated with the pentic four parameter virial (PFV) equation of state (EoS) model.  相似文献

Values of the density and speed of sound were measured for the ternary system (methyl tert-butyl ether + methylbenzene + butan-1-ol) within the temperature range (298.15 to 328.15) K at atmospheric pressure by a vibrating-tube densimeter DSA 5000. Two binary sub-systems were studied and published previously while the binary sub-system (methyl tert-butyl ether + butan-1-ol) is a new study in this work. Excess molar volume, adiabatic compressibility, and isobaric thermal expansivity were calculated from the experimental values of density and speed of sound. The excess quantities were correlated using the Redlich–Kister equation. The experimental excess molar volumes were analyzed by means of both the Extended Real Associated Solution (ERAS) model and the Peng–Robinson equation of state. The novelty of this work is the qualitative prediction of ternary excess molar volumes for the system containing auto-associative compound and two compounds that can hetero-associate. The combination of the ERAS model and Peng–Robinson equation of state could help to qualitatively estimate the real behavior of the studied systems because the experimental results lie between these two predictions.  相似文献

The excess molar volumes and the partial molar volumes for (propionitrile + an alkanol) at T = 298.15 K and at atmospheric pressure are reported. The hydrogen bonding between the OH⋯NC groups are discussed in terms of the chain length of the alkanol. The alkanols studied are (methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, and 1-pentanol).The excess molar volume data was fitted to the Redlich–Kister equation The partial molar volumes were calculated from the Redlich–Kister coefficients.  相似文献

Experimental values of density, refractive index and speed of sound of (hexane  +  cyclohexane  +  1-butanol) were measured at T =  298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. From the experimental data, the corresponding derived properties (excess molar volumes, changes of refractive index on mixing and changes of isentropic compressibility) were computed. Such derived values were correlated using several polynomial equations. Several empirical methods were used in the calculation of the properties of ternary systems from binary data. The Nitta–Chao group contribution model was applied to predict excess molar volume for this mixture.  相似文献

Isothermal (vapour + liquid) equilibrium data for the ternary mixtures 1-butanol + n-hexane + 1-chlorobutane and 2-butanol + n-hexane + 1-chlorobutane have been studied with a recirculating still at T = 298.15 K. The experimental data were satisfactorily checked for thermodynamic consistency using the method of van Ness. Activity coefficients and excess Gibbs function have been correlated with the Wilson equation. The GE values obtained for the two ternary systems are very similar.  相似文献

Experimental isothermal (vapour + liquid) equilibrium (VLE) data are reported for the binary mixture containing 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide ([bmim]I) + 1-butanol at three temperatures: (353.15, 363.15, and 373.15) K, in the range of 0 to 0.22 liquid mole fraction of [bmim]I. Additionally, refractive index measurements have been performed at three temperatures: (293.15, 298.15 and 308.15) K in the whole composition range. Densities, excess molar volumes, surface tensions and surface tension deviations of the binary mixture were predicted by Lorenz–Lorentz (nD-ρ) mixing rule. Dielectric permittivities and their deviations were evaluated by known equations. (Vapour + liquid) equilibrium data were correlated with Wilson thermodynamic model while refractive index data with the 3-parameters Redlich–Kister equation by means of maximum likelihood method. For the VLE data, the real vapour phase behaviour by virial equation of state was considered. The studied mixture presents S-shaped abatement from the ideality. Refractive index deviations, surface tension deviations and dielectric permittivity deviations are positive, while excess molar volumes are negative at all temperatures and on whole composition range. The VLE data may be used in separation processes design, and the thermophysical properties as key parameters in specific applications.  相似文献

Density, speed of sound, and refractive index for the binary systems (butanoic acid + propanoic acid, or 2-methyl-propanoic acid) were measured over the whole composition range and at T = (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15) K. The excess molar volumes, isentropic compressibilities, excess isentropic compressibilities, molar refractions, and deviation in refractive indices were also calculated by using the experimental densities, speed of sound, and refractive indices data, respectively. The Redlich–Kister smoothing polynomial equation was used to fit the excess molar volume, excess isentropic compressibility and deviation in refractive index data. The thermodynamic properties have been discussed in terms of intermolecular interactions between the components of the mixtures.  相似文献

Densities of the ternary system toluene + butyl acrylate + methyl methacrylate and its three binaries have been measured in the whole composition range, at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure using an Anton Paar DMA 5000 oscillating U-tube densimeter. The calculated excess molar volumes are positive for the binary systems toluene + methyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate + methyl methacrylate and negative for the system toluene + butyl acrylate. The corresponding data were correlated with the Redlich–Kister equation and with a series of Legendre polynomials. Several empirical equations were used to correlate the ternary behavior from the excess molar volume data of their constituent binaries and were found equally good to fit the data. The best fit was based on a direct approach, without information on the component binary systems.  相似文献

The vapour pressures of binary (cyclohexanone + 1-chlorobutane, + 1,1,1-trichloroethane) mixtures were measured at the temperatures of (298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K. The vapour pressures vs. liquid phase composition data have been used to calculate the excess molar Gibbs free energies GE of the investigated systems, using Barker’s method. Redlich–Kister, Wilson, UNIQUAC, and NRTL equations, taking into account the vapour phase imperfection in terms of the 2-nd virial coefficient, have represented the GE values. No significant difference between GE values obtained with these equations has been observed.  相似文献

This work presents the measurements of the density, speed of sound, refractive index and enthalpy of binary mixtures containing {1,8-cineole + 1-alkanol (ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, and 1-pentanol)} at two temperatures (298.15 and 313.15) K and atmospheric pressure. The determination of excess molar volume, speed of sound deviation, refractive index deviation, molar refraction, molar refraction deviation, excess isentropic compressibility, and excess molar enthalpy are also given. Redlich–Kister equation was used to fit these derivate properties. The experimental data of the constituent binaries were analysed to discuss the nature and strengths of intermolecular interactions. Eventually some models, SAFT and PC-SAFT for density, Free Length and Collision Factor for speed of sound, Gladstone-Dale Arago-Biot for refractive index, and UNIFAC for excess molar enthalpy, among others, were successfully applied.  相似文献

The isothermal and isobaric (vapour  +  liquid) equilibria (v.l.e.) for (N, N - dimethylformamide  +  2-propanol  +  1-butanol) and the binary constituent mixtures were measured with an inclined ebulliometer. The experimental results are analyzed using the UNIQUAC equation with temperature-dependent binary parameters. The comparison between the experimental and literature results for binary systems is given. The ternary v.l.e. values are predicted from the binary results.  相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) data for {water + acrylic acid + (1-butanol, or 2-butanol, or 1-pentanol)} at T = 293.2 K, T = 303.2 K, and T = 313.2 K and atmospheric pressure (≈95 kPa) were determined by Karl Fischer titration and densimetry. All systems present type I binodal curves. The size of immiscibility region changes little with an increase in temperature, but increases according to the solvent, following the order: 2-butanol < 1-butanol < 1-pentanol. Values of solute distribution and solvent selectivities show that 1-pentanol is a better solvent than 1-butanol or 2-butanol for acrylic acid removal from water solutions. Quality of data was ascertain by Hand and Othmer-Tobias equations, giving R2 > 0.916, mass balance and accordance between tie lines and cloud points. The NRTL model was used to correlate experimental data, by estimating new energy parameters, with root mean square deviations below 0.0053 for all systems.  相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) and binodal curve data were determined for the systems (water + phenol + tert-butanol) at T = 298.15 K, (water + phenol + 2-butanol) and (water + phenol + 1-butanol) at T = 298.15 K and T = 313.15 K by the combined techniques of densimetry and refractometry. Type I curve (for tert-butanol) and Type II curves (for 1- and 2-butanol) were found. The data were correlated with the NRTL model and the parameters estimated present root mean square deviations below 2% for the system with tert-butanol and lower than 0.8% for the other systems.  相似文献
