Laser-induced cesium plasmas were diagnosed by emission spectroscopy, yielding electron densities in the range Ne = 1016?5 × 1017 cm-3 and electron temperatures in the range Te = 0.2-1 eV. The experimental lineshapes for Te = 0.5 eV were found to be in good agreement with theory. For the more strongly coupled plasmas at Ne = 1-2 × 1016 cm-3 and Te = 0.2 eV, however, the Cs I 5d-5? lineshape was more asymmetric than predicted.  相似文献

A lithium plasma is produced by discharging a 40 kV, 0,3 μF capacitor through a lithium-hydride-capillary (diameter 2 mm, length 20 mm) in vacuum (p~10?4 Torr). During the first half-cycle (0,6 μs) Bremsstrahlung of Li III is observed in the visible and infrared, and the Lyman series of Li III together with the recombination continuum in the vacuum UV (100 Å). The high members of the Lyman series are broadened by Stark effect giving an electron density of about 6 · 1018 cm?3. In the infrared the radiation is emitted from an optically thick plasma at a time when the free-free continuum in the visible is emitted from an optically thin plasma. Temporal development of electron temperatureT e and electron density Ne has been measured from the absolute intensity in these spectral regions. Typical values ofT e=230 000° K andN e 5 · 1018 cm?3 e.g. have been obtained. For these values the relaxation time for an ionisation equilibrium is short compared to the observation time. The complete ionisation of Li III has been checked by absorption measurements near 100 A. Thus the absolute intensity of the recombination continuum could be calculated. An experimental arrangement was built to measure simultaneously the time history of the intensity in the vacuum ultraviolet, in the visible, and infrared spectral regions.  相似文献

We report on the results of spectroscopic measurements of electron concentration N e and temperature T e , as well as the reduced electric field strength E/N in the plasma of a high-voltage nanosecond discharge in the gap with a strongly nonuniform electric field distribution, which is filled with nitrogen under the atmospheric pressure. The possibility of using the method for determining T e and E/N, which is based on the determination of the ratio of the peak intensities of the ionic N 2 + (λ = 391.4 nm) and molecular N2 (λ = 394 nm) nitrogen bands, is proved. We detected the mean values of quantities N e , T e , and E/N amounting to ~2 × 1014 cm?3, ~2 eV, and ~240 Td, respectively. In addition, the dynamics of these quantities is determined.  相似文献

Recent experiments by T.C. Killian et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 83, 4776 (1999)], in which an ultracold plasma (N e~2×109 cm?3, T e~0.1K, and T i~10 μK) with anomalously long lifetime of ~100 μs was obtained, are explained based on a previously developed theory. The results of computer simulations of the plasma transition into a metastable state and initial heating of electrons up to several K are presented. An expression earlier obtained for the rate of the metastable plasma recombination agrees with the measured anomalously long lifetime. A conclusion is drawn that the previously predicted new physical object—a metastable overcooled plasma—is realized experimentally.  相似文献

The absolute determination of the axial temperature (12,000 K ≤ T ≤ 14,500 K, 0.9×1023 m-3Ne ≤2.5×10-3 m-3 of a 3 mm bore wall-stabilized arc operating in argon at 1.75×105 Pa is described using spectroscopic techniques both in the visible and vacuum u.v. spectral regions. Computer simulation techniques to predict the line wing correction for the A(I) line at 430 nm and a detailed study of sources of systematic error have been applied. The reproducibility of the temperature results and the establishment of LTE demonstrates the suitability of the source as a plasma temperature and radiation standard. A detailed study of the Stark broadening of Hβ and the comparison of the experimental profiles with the theories of Kepple and Griem and Vidal, Cooper and Smith has shown the former giving Ne values some 11% lower and the latter 1% higher than the pure argon diagnostics at Ne ? 2 × 1023 m-3. New values for the argon transition probabilities of two lines and continuum factors at two wavelengths are presented.  相似文献

In a diaphragm shock-tube, Ar, Kr and Xe plasmas were generated with equilibrium temperatures of 8,000 to 12,000 K. The electron densities were measured with a two-wavelength interferometer and varied from 4×1016 to 1.4×1017 cm-3. Emission profiles of spectral lines were recorded with a polychromator setup in 1 μs intervals using a fast data acquisition system. Width w and shift d turned out to be proportional to electron density Ne for the observed lines. Stark broadening parameters w/Ne and d/Ne are presented for 3 Ar(I), 4 Kr(I) and 5 Xe(I) lines in the visible region of the spectrum.  相似文献

We present the results of an optical emission spectroscopy study of Plasma during Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) of magnesium- and aluminum-alloy. Plasma electron number density Ne diagnostics is performed either from the Hβ line shape or from the width or shift of non-hydrogenic ion lines of aluminum and magnesium. The line profile analysis of the Hβ suggests presence of two PEO processes characterized by relatively low electron number densities Ne≈1.2×1015 cm?3 and Ne≈2.3×1016  cm?3. Apart from these two low Ne processes, there is the third one related to the ejection of evaporated anode material through micro-discharge channels. This process is characterized by larger electron density Ne=(1.2–1.6)1017 cm?3, which is detected from the shape and shift of aluminum and magnesium singly charged ion lines. Two low Ne values detected from the Hβ and large Ne measured from the widths and shift of ion lines suggest presence of three types of discharges during PEO with aluminum- and magnesium-alloy anode. On the basis of present and earlier results one can conclude that low Ne processes do not depend upon anode material or electrolyte composition.The electron temperature of 4000 K and 33,000 K are determined from relative intensities of Mg I and O II lines, respectively. The attention is drawn to the possibility of Ne application for Te evaluation using Saha equation what is of importance for PEO metal plasma characterization. During the course of this study, difficulties in the analysis of spectral line shapes are encountered and the ways to overcome some of the obstacles are demonstrated.  相似文献

The calculation of moments is an essential first step in the calculation of strength functions for operators. A method for calculating approximate moments of a variety of operators in large vector spaces (dimension Ne) based on the use of sets of random multiparticle vectors (dimension Nd<Ne) is described and applied to the calculation of hamiltonian moments 〈Hn〉 in two nuclear cases: 21Ne(n=1 to 10) and28Si(nm=1 to 3). The random vectors, which we call RRV's (random representative vectors), are constructed by statistically sampling a fraction f=Nd/Ne of the full space. Useful results are obtained with f?10?6(case of 28Si, Ne = 5.5 × 107). For Nd=Ne case of 21Ne, Ne=1935) our results for the dispersions of the sets of the moments closely approximate the predictions of Porter.  相似文献

The rotational analysis of some bands of the B3Σu?-B3Πg system of nitrogen (14N2 and 15N2) excited in a microwave discharge and recorded under high resolution with a Fourier transform interferometer allowed the determination of molecular constants for the v = 0, 1, 2 levels in the B3Σu? state. Main equilibrium constants of the B3Σu? state for 14N2 and 15N2 are (in cm?1) Te = 5789.2178 (relative to B3Πg (v = 0); ωe = 1516.6239; ωexe = 11.9721; Be = 1.473 098; αB = 0.01 664; ωei = 1465.3549; ωexei = 11.1783; Bei = 1.375 209; αBi = 0.01 505.  相似文献

我们在文献[1]中设计了一套五个参数的变分波函数用来计算了周期表中前面十个原子的能量,所得结果比过去一些作者用四参数波函数所算得的结果为好。我们在过去计算经验的基础上,另外找到了一套特别简单的解析波函数,其形式为1s电子:ψ1(r)=N1e-μar,2s电子:ψ2(r)=N2[(μr)e-μr-Ne-μar],2p电子:ψ3(r)=N3(μr)cosθe-μr4(r)=N4(μr)sinθeiφ-μr5(r)=N5(μr)sinθe-iφ-μr,式中的α与μ为变分参数;N1,N2,N3,N4,N5为归一化因子;N为正交化系数。μ可用解析法来决定,因而只有一个参数α要由数值法来决定。我们用这样的波函数算出了第二周期元素的正常态原子和离子(共有八十几个原子态)的各电子的各种能量积分值及总能量值,并确定了波函数的最佳参数值。其结果与五参数波函数的计算结果相比,一般相差在万分之一至千分之一的范围内,并比最近有些作者用一种三参数波函数所算的结果还好。根据这些结果,我们还讨论了Slater近似计算法的可靠程度和适用范围。  相似文献

The power radiated by an optically thin, low-density (Ne ≤ 1014 electrons/cm3) plasma has been calculated for the electron temperature range 1–106 eV taking into account resonance line emission, direct recombination radiation, dielectronic recombination radiation, and bremsstrahlung from the ions of a given element. The ionization structure has been determined by using a corona equilibrium model in which collisional ionization and inner-shelled excitation followed by autoionization are balanced by direct radiative and dielectronic recombination. Based on the results for respresentative elements from carbon through nickel, graphs are presented of the maximum radiated power, the maximum emission temperature, and the mean charge at the maximum for each shell as functions of the atomic number Z. Assuming that the maximum emission temperature can be achieved, aluminum and iron are predicted to be the most efficient K-shell radiators for Z ≤28.  相似文献

The emission characteristics and parameters of laser plumes of tin and CuSbSe2 compound are studied at distances of 1 and 7 mm from the target. The recombination times of singly and doubly charged tin ions are, respectively, 116 and 27 ns at a distance of 1 mm from the target and 148 and 64 ns at a distance of 7 mm. In the case of the CuSbSe2 compound, the recombination times of antimony and copper ions are determined to be, respectively, 60 and 75 ns at a distance of 1 mm and 707 and 976 ns at a distance of 7 mm. The time-averaged temperatures and concentrations of electrons of the tin laser plasma are determined at a distance of 7 mm from the target (T e = 0.42 eV and n e = 2.9 × 1015 cm?3), and the same parameters for the laser plasma based on the CuSbSe2 compound are determined at distances of 1 and 7 mm from the target (T e = 0.62 eV, n e = 1.4 × 1016 cm?3 and T e = 0.86 eV, n e = 8.4 × 1015 cm?3).  相似文献

The contribution of molecular dissociative processes to the production of atomic lines is considered for a steady-state hydrogen plasma. If the contribution of dissociative processes is dominant, a substantial simplification in plasma diagnostics can be achieved. Numerical calculations have been performed for the production of Balmer α, β, and γ lines in hydrogen plasmas with medium and large degrees of ionization (x ? 10-4) and for 5000 ? Te, K ? 45,000 and 1010 ? Ne, cm-3 ? 1016.  相似文献

A kinetic model is developed to describe ultracold nonideal Rydberg plasmas, which allows all stages of the generation and decay of such a plasma to be sequentially traced. The plasma kinetics is considered on the basis of available experimental data corresponding to a nonideality parameter of γ ~ 1. The results of theoretical analysis are in good agreement with experiment. Calculations show evidence of a significantly decreased recombination rate and, hence, of the possible formation of a metastable structure in the plasma under consideration. The distribution of the number of excited atoms is determined for the plasma with Ne = Ni = 7 × 105 and Ee = 9 K. The observed behavior of the number and density of particles as functions of the time and principal quantum number is explained. It is suggested that the distribution of excited atoms for the given parameters has a maximum for the state with k = 25.  相似文献

Profiles of C(III) and C(IV) lines emitted in the VUV and visible regions from a pulsed arc (Ne=1.5×1018 cm-3, Te=5.3×104K) have been measured with time resolution. The experimental results are in satisfactory agreement with the predictions of electron impact theory for (3-3) and (3-4) transitions for which the energy separation between the upper level and the nearest perturbing level is smaller than the electron thermal energy. For lines from (2-2) transitions for which the plasma is optically thick, damping constants determined experimentally agree with theoretical values within a factor of two.  相似文献

The effect of solvents on absorption and fluorescence spectra and dipole moments of novel benzanthrone derivatives such as 3-N-(N′,N′-Dimethylformamidino) benzanthrone (1), 3-N-(N′,N′-Diethylacetamidino) benzanthrone (2) and 3-morpholinobenzanthrone (3) have been studied in various solvents. The fluorescence lifetime of the dyes (1-3) in chloroform were also recorded. Bathochromic shift observed in the absorption and fluorescence spectra of these molecules with increasing solvent polarity indicates that the transitions involved are ππ?. Using the theory of solvatochromism, the difference in the excited-state (μe) and the ground-state (μe) dipole moments was estimated from Lippert-Mataga, Bakhshiev, Kawski-Chamma-Viallet, and McRae equations by using the variation of Stokes shift with the solvent’s relative permittivity and refractive index. AM1 and PM6 semiempirical molecular calculations using MOPAC and ab-initio calculations at B3LYP/6-31 G? level of theory using Gaussian 03 software were carried out to estimate the ground-state dipole moments and some other physicochemical properties. Further, the change in dipole moment value (Δμ) was also calculated by using the variation of Stokes shift with the molecular-microscopic empirical solvent polarity parameter (ETN). The excited-state dipole moments observed are larger than their ground-state counterparts, indicating a substantial redistribution of the π-electron densities in a more polar excited state for all the systems investigated.  相似文献

TheO s 2 ) QCD corrections to the thrust distribution for three-jet production ine + e ? annihilation are found to depend on the algorithm for recombining four partons into three jets. Several recombination schemes are discussed and results are compared. Results of the recombination approach are compared also to recent direct calculations of three-jet thrust distributions. 我们设计了一套变分波函数,用来计算了周期表中前面十个原子的能量。我们设计的单电子试探波函数具有下列形式:1s:ψ1(r)=N1e-μαr[1+(μbr)2], 2s:ψ2(r)=N2[(μr)e-μr-Ne-μcr], 2p:ψ3(r)=N3(μdr)cosθe-μdr, ψ4(r)=N4(μdr)sinθeiφ-μdr, ψ5(r)=N5(μdr)sinθe-iφ-μdr。式中的a,b,c,d及μ为五个变分参数。N1,N2,N3,N4与N5为归一化因子;N由ψ1与ψ2的正交条件来决定。用这种波函数来计算原子的能量,所得的结果比莫尔斯等人(P.M.Morse,L.A.Young and E.S.Haurwitz)用他们设计的四参数波函数所算得的结果为好,更接近实验值,同时也接近于由自洽场所算出的结果。若我们的波函数中固定c等于1不变,这时就变为只有四个参数的波函数,结果仍比莫尔斯等人的好。  相似文献

The paper considers a non-equilibrium, steady-state hydrogen plasma with 1010 ? Ne, cm-3 ? 1017 and 8000 ? Te, °K ? 64,000. The following two cases are analyzed: (1) the plasma is optically thin for all atomic lines and (2) the plasma is optically thick towards the Lyman lines and optically thin for all other lines. Analytical expressions have been obtained for populations and ionization frequencies of excited levels. Populations of the excited levels obtained from the analytical formulas are in good agreement with numerical calculations.  相似文献
