In this paper, it is shown that extremal (Hermitian) self-dual codes over 2 × 2 exist only for lengths 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10. All extremal self-dual codes over 2 × 2 are found. In particular, it is shown that there is a unique extremal self-dual code up to equivalence for lengths 8 and 10. Optimal self-dual codes are also investigated. A classification is given for binary [12, 7, 4] codes with dual distance 4, binary [13, 7, 4] codes with dual distance 4 and binary [13, 8, 4] codes with dual distance 4.  相似文献

It is well known (and rather trivial to prove) that the square F2 of a Finsler norm F:TM on a differentiable manifold M is differentiable at the zero section if and only if F is the norm function of a Riemannian metric. However, the corresponding question for a general p-areal on M is far less trivial to settle and leads to interesting algebraic and combinatorial problems concerning multiquadratic forms. For p=2, the results are closely related to known properties of the curvature tensor of a Riemannian metric.  相似文献

Let M be the space of all continuous, complex valued functions defined on [0, ]. This, with the convolution operation (f*g)(t) = 0 t f(t–)g() d yields a commutative, associative algebra. A new proof that M is a Jacobson radical algebra is given. The ideal structures of M and its Dorroh extension to an algebra, M1, with unity are investigated. The algebraic properties of M are used to obtain new proofs of existence and uniqueness of solutions for certain integral and integro-differential equations.  相似文献

A positive measurable function f on Rd can be symmetrized to a function f* depending only on the distance r, and with the same distribution function as f. If the distribution derivatives of f are Radon measures then we have the inequality f*f, where f is the total mass of the gradient. This inequality is a generalisation of the classical isoperimetric inequality for sets. Furthermore, and this is important for applications, if f belongs to the Sobolev space H1,P then f* belongs to H1,P and f*pfp.  相似文献

If P is a positive operator on a Hilbert space H whose range is dense, then a theorem of Foias, Ong, and Rosenthal says that: [(P)]–1T[(P)]<-12 max {T, P–1TP} for any bounded operator T on H, where is a continuous, concave, nonnegative, nondecreasing function on [0, P]. This inequality is extended to the class of normal operators with dense range to obtain the inequality [(N)]–1T[(N)]<-12c2 max {tT, N–1TN} where is a complex valued function in a class of functions called vase-like, and c is a constant which is associated with by the definition of vase-like. As a corollary, it is shown that the reflexive lattice of operator ranges generated by the range NH of a normal operator N consists of the ranges of all operators of the form (N), where is vase-like. In this paper we consider lattice points in domains bounded by algebraic curves of the formx n+yn=Rn fulfilling the additional condition where and are fixed positive real numbers. The number of these lattice points is estimated for largeR and it appears that for rational or badly approximable and the error term in the final result can be made smaller (at least forn3) than it is best possible when counting the lattice points without the additional condition indicated above.  相似文献

It is shown that if is a finite set of points in an ordered d-dimensional projective space, d2 and if all the hyperplanes spanned by points of are considered, then every such a hyperplane is visible from at most 2d distinct points of ; if a hyperplane bounds 2d distinct residences, then it contains exactly d points of . In a previous paper [4] the present author studied a C mapping where M is an m-dimensional C manifold, I is some interval and for each tI the mapping is an immersion satisfying the following conditions, (i) The Gauss map associated with the immersion is regular. (ii) The Gauss image of the immersed submanifold is fixed against t for each point p of M. Such a mapping was called an admissible deformation.
