Measurements of compressed liquid densities for 1-pentanol and for {CO2 (1) + 1-pentanol (2)} system were carried out at temperatures from 313 K to 363 K and pressures up to 25 MPa. Densities were measured for binary mixtures at 10 different compositions, x1 = 0.0816, 0.1347, 0.3624, 0.4651, 0.6054, 0.7274, 0.8067, 0.8573, 0.9216, and 0.9757. A vibrating tube densimeter was used to perform density measurements using two reference calibration fluids. The uncertainty is estimated to be better than ±0.2 kg · m?3 for the experimental density measurements. For each mixture and for 1-pentanol, the experimental densities were correlated using an explicit volume equation of six parameters and an 11-parameter equation of state (EoS). Excess molar volumes were determined for the (CO2 + 1-pentanol) system using 1-pentanol densities calculated from the 11-parameter EoS and CO2 densities calculated from a multiparameter reference EoS.  相似文献

An apparatus based on a static-analytic method assembled in this work was utilized to perform high pressure (vapour + liquid) equilibria measurements with uncertainties estimated at <5%. Complementary isothermal (vapour + liquid) equilibria results are reported for the (CO2 + 1-propanol), (CO2 + 2-methyl-1-propanol), (CO2 + 3-methyl-1-butanol), and (CO2 + 1-pentanol) binary systems at temperatures of (313, 323, and 333) K, and at pressure range of (2 to 12) MPa. For all the (CO2 + alcohol) systems, it was visually monitored to insure that there was no liquid immiscibility at the temperatures and pressures studied. The experimental results were correlated with the Peng–Robinson equation of state using the quadratic mixing rules of van der Waals with two adjustable parameters. The calculated (vapour + liquid) equilibria compositions were found to be in good agreement with the experimental values with deviations for the mol fractions <0.12 and <0.05 for the liquid and vapour phase, respectively.  相似文献

Vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for the ternary system of carbon dioxide, ethanol and ethyl acetate were measured in this study at 303.2, 308.2, and 313.2 K, and at pressures from 4 to 7 MPa. A static type phase equilibrium apparatus with visual sapphire windows was used in the experimental measurements. New VLE data for CO2 in the mixed solvent were presented. These ternary VLE data at elevated pressures were also correlated using either the modified Soave–Redlich–Kwong or Peng–Robinson equation of state, with either the van der Waals one-fluid or Huron–Vidal mixing model. Satisfactory correlation results are reported with temperature-independent binary parameters. It is observed that at 313.2 K and 7 MPa, ethanol can be separated from ethyl acetate into the vapor phase at all concentrations in the presence of high pressure CO2.  相似文献

This work reports phase equilibrium measurements for the ternary systems linoleic (acid + CO2 + ethanol) and (linolenic acid + CO2 + ethanol). The fatty acids present in the ternary systems were selected based on composition of banana peel oil extracted by supercritical CO2 at 20 MPa and 313 K. The motivation of this research relies on the fact that these unsaturated fatty acids are recognized to play an important role in lowering blood pressure and serum cholesterol and because they are present in high concentrations in banana peel extract. Besides that, equilibrium data of these compounds are scarce in literature. The phase equilibrium experiments were performed using a high-pressure variable-volume view cell over the temperature range of (303 to 343) K and pressures up to 19 MPa. For both systems, only vapour–liquid phase transitions were visually recorded for all data measured.  相似文献

The high-pressure phase behaviour of the binary system {1-ethyl-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([EMIM][BF4]) + CO2} was determined over the temperature range of (293.2 to 323.2) K at intervals of 5.0 K with the CO2 mole fraction ranging from 0.153 to 0.578 by using a high-pressure variable-volume view cell. Further, the (vapour + liquid) equilibrium of the binary system {1-hexyl-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([HMIM][BF4]) + CO2} was measured over the temperature range of (303.2 to 328.2) K with the CO2 mole fraction ranging from 0.314 to 0.593. The Peng–Robinson equation of state along with two-parameter mixing rules has been employed to correlate the experimental results. In case of the ([EMIM][BF4] + CO2) system, the (vapour + liquid + liquid) equilibrium and (vapour + liquid) equilibrium have been observed at a high CO2 mole fraction. The experimental values obtained in this study were compared with the available phase behaviour data of the binary system (1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate + CO2) in order to investigate the effect of the alkyl chain length in the imidazolium cation on the phase behaviour of such systems.  相似文献

The solubility of carbon dioxide (CO2) in binary mixtures of ethanol and n-decane has been measured using an in-house developed pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) apparatus at pressures up to 6 MPa and two different temperatures (303.2 and 323.2 K). Three different binary mixtures of ethanol and n-decane were prepared, and the densities of the prepared mixtures were measured over the studied pressure and temperature ranges. The experimental data of CO2 solubility in the prepared mixtures and their saturated liquid densities were then reported at each temperature and pressure. The solubility data indicated that the gas solubility reduced as the ethanol mole fraction in the liquid mixture increased. The dissolution of CO2 in the liquid mixtures resulted in the increase in the saturated liquid densities. The impact of gas dissolution on the saturated liquid densities was more pronounced at the lower temperature and lower ethanol compositions. The experimental solubility and density data were compared with the results of two cubic equations of state (EOSs), Soave–Redlich–Kwong (SRK) and Peng–Robinson (PR). The modeling results demonstrated that both EOSs could predict the solubility data well, while the saturated liquid densities calculated with the PR EOS were much better than those predicted with the SRK EOS.  相似文献

A new apparatus based on a static–analytic method assembled in this work was utilised to perform high-pressure (vapour + liquid) equilibria measurements of aqueous ternary systems. This work includes values of isothermal partition coefficients between CO2 and water of two apple aroma constituents, (E)-2-hexenal and hexanal. Additionally, this work reports new experimental (vapour + liquid) equilibria measurements for the ternary systems (CO2 + (E)-2-hexenal + water) and (CO2 + hexanal + water), at fixed liquid phase composition (600 mg · kg−1), at temperatures of (313, 323 and 333) K and at pressures from (8 to 19) MPa. Vapour liquid interphase was checked and monitored visually for all the systems studied in this work. No liquid immiscibility was observed at the composition, temperatures and pressures studied. In order to suggest reasonable operation conditions for fractionation of aromas with dense carbon dioxide, partition coefficients of the aroma compounds between CO2 and water along with their separation factors from water were calculated. Partition coefficients of (E)-2-hexenal between CO2 and water were in the range of (6 to 91) and where found to be near six times higher than those of hexanal (9 to 17). Very high separation factors from water were observed (∼104) especially for (E)-2-hexenal. The highest separation factor, for both compounds, was found at a temperature of 313 K and pressures from (12 to 14) MPa.  相似文献

Phase equilibrium data for the binary systems {carbon dioxide (CO2) + dimethyl carbonate (DMC)} and {carbon dioxide (CO2) + diethyl carbonate (DEC)} were measured at temperatures of 273 K, 283 K and 293 K in the pressure range of 0.5 MPa to 4.0 MPa. The measurements were carried out in a cylindrical autoclave with a moveable piston and an observation window. The experimental data were correlated with the Peng–Robison (PR) equation of state (EOS) and the Peng–Robinson–Stryjek–Vera (PRSV) equation of state with van der Waals-1 or Panagiotopoulos–Reid mixing rules. The correlations produced reasonable values for the interaction parameters. The comparisons between calculation results and experimental data indicate that the PRSV equation of state coupled with the Panagiotopoulos–Reid mixing rule produced the better correlated results.  相似文献

Vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for the ternary mixture of carbon dioxide, 1-propanol and propyl acetate were measured in this study at 308.2, 313.2, and 318.2 K, and at pressures ranging from 4 to 10 MPa. A static type phase equilibrium apparatus with visual sapphire windows was used in the experimental measurements. New VLE data for CO2 in the mixed solvent were presented. These ternary VLE data at elevated pressures were also correlated using either the modified Soave–Redlich–Kwong or Peng–Robinson equation of state (EOS), and by employing either the van der Waals one-fluid or Huron–Vidal mixing model. Satisfactory correlation results from both EOS models are reported with temperature-independent binary interaction parameters. It is observed that at 318.2 K and 10 MPa, 1-propanol may probably be separated from propyl acetate into the vapor phase at the entire concentration range in the presence of high pressure CO2.  相似文献

Vapour–liquid equilibrium compositions were measured for mixtures of δ-tocopherol and carbon dioxide, at pressures from 9 up to 27 MPa, and four temperatures between 306 and 333 K. The system exhibits liquid–liquid equilibrium at high pressures, similarly to previous results for mixtures of α-tocopherol with carbon dioxide. The results were correlated with the Peng–Robinson equation of state, using the Panagiotopoulos–Reid combination rules.Comparison of the solubilities of δ-tocopherol and α-tocopherol in supercritical carbon dioxide was performed using Chrastil’s equation to correlate the data. The number of solvent CO2 molecules per solute molecule was calculated in both cases. An enthalpy of solvation per mole of CO2 of −10 kJ mol−1 was obtained.  相似文献

Measurements of equilibrium hydrogen pressure as a function of hydrogen content and of temperature are a convenient way to determine the thermodynamic properties of metal–hydrogen systems. To date such studies have only been carried out for the systems at relatively low hydrogen pressure. We have developed a high-pressure apparatus capable of pressures up to 1.2 GPa and temperatures up to T =  450 K for the studies of equilibrium conditions in the Ni–H systems and the Ni–D systems in order to derive corresponding enthalpies of formation and decomposition. The results show that although the pressures at given temperatures are always higher for (Ni  +  D2) than for (Ni  +  H2), the values of enthalpies are almost identical within the experimental error. The enthalpies of the formation and decomposition of both systems derived from these studies are compared with calorimetric measurements carried out at high pressure. The difference between enthalpies of formation and decomposition for both systems reflect hysteresis, a common phenomenon in transition metal hydrides.  相似文献

In this paper, experimental densities and dynamic viscosities of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium based ionic liquids (ILs) with the anions acetate and dicyanamide are presented in a wide temperature range (298.15 to 343.15 K) at atmospheric pressure. Surface tension of these ILs was measured at T = 298.15 K. The effect of water and/or ethanol compositions on densities and dynamic viscosities of these ILs are studied in binary and ternary mixtures. A quadratic mixing rule was used to correlate binary and ternary liquid densities. The Eyring–Patel–Teja model, which is recommended for polar and aqueous systems, is used to correlate dynamic viscosity data over the whole range of compositions and temperatures in binary and ternary mixtures. Temperature-dependent interaction parameters are introduced here to account for the changes of viscosities with temperature showing good agreements with experimental data.  相似文献

This paper reports measurements of densities for the binary systems of an ionic liquid and an alkanol at T = (298.15, 303.15, and 313.15) K. The IL is trioctylmethylammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [OMA]+[Tf2N]? and the alkanols are methanol, or ethanol, or 1-propanol. The speed of sound at T = 298.15 K for the same binary systems was also measured. The excess molar volumes and the isentropic compressibilities for the above systems were then calculated from the experimental densities and the speed of sound, respectively. Redlich–Kister smoothing polynomial equation was used to fit the excess molar volume and the deviation in isentropic compressibility data. The partial molar volumes were determined from the Redlich–Kister coefficients. For all the systems studied, the excess molar volumes have both negative and positive values, while the deviations in isentropic compressibility are negative over the entire composition range.  相似文献

In the present work, the three- and four-phase hydrate equilibria of (carbon dioxide (CO2) + tetrahydrofuran (THF) + water) system are measured by using Cailletet equipment in the temperature and pressure range of (272 to 292) K and (1.0 to 7.5) MPa, respectively, at different CO2 concentration. Throughout the study, the concentration of THF is kept constant at 5 mol% in the aqueous solution. In addition, the fluid phase transitions of LW–LV–V  LW–LV (bubble point) and LW–LV–V  LW–V (dew point) are determined when they are present in the ternary system. For comparison, the three-phase hydrate equilibria of binary (CO2 + H2O) are also measured. Experimental measurements show that the addition of THF as a hydrate promoter extends hydrate stability region by elevating the hydrate equilibrium temperature at a specified pressure. The three-phase equilibrium line H–LW–V is found to be independent of the overall concentration of CO2. Contradictory, at higher pressure, the phase equilibria of the systems are significantly influenced by the overall concentration of CO2 in the systems. A liquid–liquid phase split is observed at overall concentration of CO2 as low as 3 mol% at elevated pressure. The region is bounded by the bubble-points line (LW–LV–V  LW–LV), dew points line (LW–LV–V  LW + V) and the four-phase equilibrium line (H + LW + LV + V). At higher overall concentration of CO2 in the ternary system, experimental measurements show that pseudo-retrograde behaviour exists at pressure between (2.5 and 5) MPa at temperature of 290.8 K.  相似文献

Phase behavior of β-d galactose pentaacetate–carbon dioxide binary system is investigated by dew-point and bubble-point measurements conducted in a high pressure variable volume sapphire cell. The phase envelope for solutions of β-d galactose pentaacetate in supercritical CO2 is obtained for β-d galactose pentaacetate concentrations between 2 and 26 wt%, and for the temperature range of 308–323 K. The system exhibits lower critical solution temperature (LCST) behavior and high solubility of β-d galactose pentaacetate is observed. The densities of the system are also measured, and liquid-like densities (near 1 g/cm3) are observed for single-phase solutions of β-d galactose pentaacetate in supercritical CO2 at concentrations of 18 wt% and higher. Viscosity is measured for solutions of 18 and 25 wt% β-d galactose pentaacetate in the single-phase region at 313 K and 17 MPa and the viscosity values, 0.095 and 0.103 cp, respectively, are similar in magnitude to the viscosity of pure carbon dioxide.  相似文献

In this work, densities of two binary systems of {alkanol (ethanol and 1-propanol) + boldine} are measured at temperatures from (313 to 363) K and pressures up to 20 MPa using an Anton Paar vibrating tube densimeter. Each (alkanol + boldine) system was prepared at five diluted compositions with respect to the alkaloid. These are (x2 = 0.0012, 0.0074, 0.0136, 0.0196, 0.0267) and (x2 = 0.0018, 0.0046, 0.0077, 0.0112, 0.0142) mixed in ethanol and 1-propanol, respectively. Experimental densities are correlated using an empirical 6-parameter equation with deviations within 0.04%. Extrapolated densities at atmospheric pressure agree with the literature data. Isobaric expansivity, isothermal compressibility, thermal pressure coefficient, and internal pressure have been calculated.  相似文献

Isothermal vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data have been measured for the binary system carbon dioxide (CO2)+difluoromethane(R32) at eight temperatures between 283.12 and 343.25 K, and at pressures in the range 1.11–7.46 MPa. The experimental method used in this work is of the static-analytic type, taking advantage of two pneumatic capillary samplers (Rolsi™, Armines’ Patent) developed in the Cenerg/TEP laboratory. The data were obtained with uncertainties within ±0.02 K, ±0.002 MPa, and ±1% for molar compositions. The isothermal P, x, and y data are well represented with the Peng–Robinson equation of state (PR EoS) using the Mathias Copeman alpha function and the Wong–Sandler mixing rules involving the NRTL model.  相似文献

Comprehensive (p, ρ, T) measurements on two binary mixtures (0.10 CO2 + 0.90 N2 and 0.15 CO2 + 0.85 N2) were carried out in the gas phase at seven isotherms between (250 and 400) K and pressures up to 20 MPa using a single sinker densimeter with magnetic suspension coupling. A total of 69 (p, ρ, T) data for the first mixture and 69 (p, ρ, T) data for the second are presented in this article. The uncertainty in density was estimated to be (0.02 to 0.15)%, while the uncertainty in temperature was 3.9 mK and the uncertainty in pressure was less than 0.015% (coverage factor k = 2). Experimental results were compared with densities calculated from the GERG equation of state and with data reported by other authors for similar mixtures. Results yielded that, while deviations between experimental data and values calculated from the GERG equation were lower than 0.05% in density for low pressures, the relative error at high pressures and low temperatures increased to about (0.2 to 0.3)%. The main aim of this work was to contribute to an accurate density data base for CO2/N2 mixtures and to check or improve equations of state existing for these binary mixtures.  相似文献

A flow-mixing isothermal microcalorimeter was used to measure excess molar enthalpies for four binary systems of {diethyl oxalate + (methanol, + ethanol, + 1-propanol, and + 2-propanol)} at T = (288.2, 298.2, 313.2, and 328.2) K and p = 101.3 kPa. The densities of the diethyl oxalate at different temperature were measured by using a vibrating-tube densimeter. All systems exhibit endothermic behaviour over the whole composition range, which means that the rupture of interactions is energetically the main effect. The excess molar enthalpies increase with temperature and the molecular size of the alcohols. The experimental results were correlated by using the Redlich–Kister equation and two local-composition models (NRTL and UNIQUAC).  相似文献
