We study the localization length lc of a pair of two attractively bound particles moving in a one-dimensional random potential. We show in which way it depends on the interaction potential between the constituents of this composite particle. For a pair with many bound states N the localization length is proportional to N, independently of the form of the two particle interaction. For the case of two bound states, we present an exact solution for the corresponding Fokker–Planck equation and demonstrate that lc depends sensitively on the shape of the interaction potential and the symmetry of the bound state wave functions.  相似文献

Little-Parks oscillations are observed in a system of 110 series-connected aluminum rings 2 μm in diameter with the use of measuring currents from 10 nA to 1 μA. The measurements show that the amplitude and character of oscillations are independent of the relation between the measuring current and the amplitude of the persistent current. By using asymmetric rings, it is demonstrated that the persistent current has a direction. This means that, in the Little-Parks experiment, the total current in one of the half-rings may be directed against the electric field.  相似文献

The localization problem of electronic states in a two-dimensional quantum spin Hall system (that is, a symplectic ensemble with topological term) is studied by the transfer matrix method. The phase diagram in the plane of energy and disorder strength is exposed, and demonstrates "levitation" and "pair annihilation" of the domains of extended states analogous to that of the integer quantum Hall system. The critical exponent nu for the divergence of the localization length is estimated as nu congruent with 1.6, which is distinct from both exponents pertaining to the conventional symplectic and the unitary quantum Hall systems. Our analysis strongly suggests a different universality class related to the topology of the pertinent system.  相似文献

The behaviour of a quantum particle moving in a system of N coupled chains parallel to each other and packed into a bundle is investigated in the presence of weak disorder. This system may be thought of as a model of an anisotropic thin wire. The dependence of the localization length rloc on N and t is studied (t is the interchain exchange integral characterizing the strength of the interchain tunneling). For t < tc ≅ h/τ the localization length rloc increases proportionally to lt/(tτ −t) attaining a plateau value of the order of Nl (τ is the relaxation time and 1 the mean free path for elastic scattering). Such a behaviour may be called a transition from the Mott localization regime to the Thouless localization regime. It may be considered as a precursor of the insulator-metal transition (rloc → ∞) occuring for t → tc in the quasi-1d system (N → ∞).  相似文献

To construct a plasma trap with levitating magnetic coils in the thin ring approximation, we derive the expression for the potential energy of a system of several superconducting rings (one of which is fixed) capturing the preset flows in the uniform gravitational field as a function of the coordinates of the free ring (or rings). Calculations performed in the Mathcad system show that the potential energy of such a system has a local minimum for certain values of parameters. Stable levitation of a superconducting ring in the position corresponding to calculations is realized in the field of another superconducting ring, and this leads to the conclusion that a magnetic Galatea trap can be prepared on the basis of a levitating quadrupole.  相似文献

A method based on the path integral approach is engaged to consider the gravitational emission from a quantum mechanical bound system in a locally inertial frame. In such a frame, interaction between the electromagnetic (bound potential) and gravitational fields can be neglected resulting in the less mathematical complexity. The final outcome is in agreement with the previous result for the radiation intensity of emitted gravitons due to decay of bound states in TT gauge.  相似文献

The possibility of observing persistent voltage in superconducting rings of different arm widths is experimentally investigated. It was previously found that switching of the arms between superconducting and normal states by an AC current induces DC voltage oscillation in the magnetic field with a period corresponding to the flux quantum inside the ring. We used systems with a large number of asymmetric rings connected in series to investigate the possibility of observing this quantum phenomenon near the superconducting transition, where thermal fluctuations lead to switching of ring segments without an external influence and the persistent current is much smaller than in the superconducting state.  相似文献

Two-particle complexes in ferromagnets with hyperfine electronic-nuclear coupling have been studied. The secular equation has been obtained and analysed (with numerical methods as well) in the middle and in the end of the Brillouin zone for 1- and 3-dimensional lattices (of s.c. structure). The existence of new types of complexes (nuclear-nuclear and electronic-nuclear) in strongly anisotropic systems has been established.  相似文献

Using Corbino samples we have observed oscillatory dc conductance in a high-mobility two-dimensional electron system when it is subjected to crossed microwave and magnetic fields. At the strongest of the oscillation minima the conductance is found to be vanishingly small, indicating a macroscopic insulating state associated with this minimum. With increasing voltage bias, a crossover from Ohmic to electron-heating regime is observed.  相似文献

We investigate a double cavity optomechanical system generating single and double Fano resonance (multi-Fano). By altering a single parameter, the tunnelling rate g of the middle mirror, we are able to switch between single and double Fano line shapes. The first spectral line shape is stronger in the case of multi-Fano than in the case of single Fano. Also the behaviour of the steady state value of the displacement of the middle mirror, with respect to g, heavily influences the behaviour of double Fano lines in our scheme. This tunability along with using a single pump and signal/probe laser has an added advantage in situations where only low power consumption is available.  相似文献

An approach to investigation of electronic properties of fullerene-filled nanotubes is proposed within the Hubbard model. It is shown that absorption of nanotubes decreases when they are filled with fullerenes. A prediction is made that the electron wave packet may be localized on the inhomogeneities induced by the fullerenes inside the nanotubes.  相似文献

We investigate several models of a one-dimensional chain coupling with surrounding atoms to elucidate disorder-induced delocalization in quantum wires, a peculiar behaviour against common wisdom. We show that the localization length is enhanced by disorder of side sites in the case of strong disorder, but in the case of weak disorder there is a plateau in this dependence. The above behaviour is the conjunct influence of the coupling to the surrounding atoms and the antiresonant effect. We also discuss different effects and their physical origin of different types of disorder in such systems. The numerical results show that coupling with the surrounding atoms can induce either the localization or delocalization effect depending on the values of parameters.  相似文献
