Let Mn be an n-dimensional compact minimal submanifolds in Sm(1)×R.We prove two pinching theorems by the Ricci curvature and the sectional curvature pinching conditions respectively.In fact,we characterize the Clifford tori and Veronese submanifolds by our pinching conditions respectively.  相似文献

This study investigates procedural and conceptual aspects in preservice elementary school teacher's understanding of the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic. The data were collected by the means of a written questionnaire and individual interviews. The results suggest that the idea of the uniqueness of prime decomposition is very difficult to grasp. Participants' responses indicated, either implicity or explicity, that a possibility of alternative prime decompositions was often not overruled, and this influenced students' ability to make inferences regarding factors and divisors of natural numbers. Some pedagogical implications are discussed.  相似文献

Inversion over a finite field is usually an expensive operation which is a crucial issue in many applications, such as cryptography and error-control codes. In this paper, three different strategies for computing the inverse over binary finite fields , called Eulerian, Gaussian, and Euclidean, respectively, are discussed and compared in terms of time and space complexity. We determine the numerical invariants of blocks with defect group $Q_{2^n}\times C_{2^m}$ and $SD_{2^n}\times C_{2^m}$ , where $Q_{2^n}$ denotes a quaternion group of order 2 n , $C_{2^m}$ denotes a cyclic group of order 2 m , and $SD_{2^n}$ denotes a semidihedral group of order 2 n . This generalizes Olsson’s results for m?=?0. As a consequence, we prove Brauer’s k(B)-Conjecture, Olsson’s Conjecture, Brauer’s Height-Zero Conjecture, the Alperin–McKay Conjecture, Alperin’s Weight Conjecture and Robinson’s Ordinary Weight Conjecture for these blocks. Moreover, we show that the gluing problem has a unique solution in this case. This paper follows (and uses) (Sambale, J Pure Appl Algebra 216:119–125, 2012; Proc Amer Math Soc, 2012).  相似文献

Generally, the term uc-ness means some continuity is uniform. A metric space X is uc when any continuous function fromX to [0, 1] is uniformly continuous and a metrizable space X is a Nagata space when it can be equipped with a uc metric. We consider natural forms of uc-ness for the \({\omega_\mu}\)-metric spaces, which fill a very large and interesting class of uniform spaces containing the usual metric ones, and extend to them various different formulations of the metric uc-ness, by additionaly proving their equivalence. Furthermore, since any \({\omega_\mu}\)-compact space is uc and any uc \({\omega_\mu}\)-metric space is complete, in the line of constructing dense extensions which preserve some structure, such as uniform completions, we focus on the existence for an \({\omega_\mu}\)-metrizable space of dense topological extensions carrying a uc \({\omega_\mu}\)-metric. In this paper we show that an \({\omega_\mu}\)-metrizable space X is uc-extendable if and only if there exists a compatible \({\omega_\mu}\)-metric d on X such that the set X′ of all accumulation points in X is crowded, i.e., any \({\omega_\mu}\)-sequence in X′ has a d-Cauchy \({\omega_\mu}\)-subsequence in X′.  相似文献

For an imaginary quadratic number field and an odd prime number , the anti-cyclotomic -extension of is defined. For primes of , decomposition laws for in the anti-cyclotomic extension are given. We show how these laws can be applied to determine if the Hilbert class field (or part of it) of is -embeddable. For some and , we find explicit polynomials whose roots generate the first step of the anti-cyclotomic extension and show how the prime decomposition laws give nice results on the splitting of these polyniomials modulo . The article contains many numerical examples.

Let Ω be an open set in Euclidean space ? m with finite perimeter ${\mathcal{P}}(\Omega),$ and with m-dimensional Lebesgue measure |Ω|. It was shown by M. Preunkert that if T(t) is the heat semigroup on L 2(? m ) then $H_{\Omega}(t):=\int_{\Omega}T(t)\textbf{1}_{\Omega}(x)dx=|\Omega|-\pi^{-1/2}{\mathcal{P}}(\Omega)t^{1/2}+o(t^{1/2}), \ t\downarrow 0$ . H Ω(t) represents the amount of heat in Ω if Ω is at initial temperature 1 and if ? m ???Ω is at initial temperature 0. In this paper we will compare the quantitative behaviour of H Ω(t) with the usual heat content Q Ω(t) associated to the Dirichlet heat semigroup on Ω. We analyse the heat content for horn-shaped open sets of the form Ω(α, Σ)?=?{(x, x′)?∈?? m : x′?∈?(1?+?x)???α Σ, x?>?0}, where α?>?0, and where Σ is an open set in ? m???1 with finite perimeter in ? m???1, which is star-shaped with respect to 0. For m?≥?3 we find that there are four regimes with very different behaviour depending on α, and a further two limiting cases where logarithmic corrections appear.  相似文献
