Keeping the valence band position fixed for simplicity of presentation of optical size and facet effects, this figure shows Cu2O cubes, octahedra, and rhombic dodecahedra of similar volumes display different colors and band gaps. The ranges of observed band gaps are also shown, with smaller particles having larger band gaps. More details about this figure will be discussed by Prof. Michael H. In this paper , cefadroxil was synthesized in [Bmim][NTf2]‐ phosphate cosolvent using immobilized penicillin G acylase on micron‐size magnetic polymer microspheres with the high S/H ratio of 1.12 and 79.0% yield. The results illuminated that there are two very critical and essential designs i.e. effective support and suitable solvent system in enzymatic synthesis of cefadroxil. In this figure , the authors have used B3LYP/6-311++G** level of theory to access the effects of 1 to 4 halogens on four unprecedented sets of cyclopentasilylene-2,4-dienes ( 1X−4X ). The results show that in going from electron withdrawing groups (EWGs) to electron donating groups (EDGs), the singlet-triplet energy gap (ΔEs-t) decreases while nucleophilicity (N) increases. In this figure , a new NBD-based chemosensor NTCH was developed for detecting Hg2+ through a color change from pale yellow to pink. NTCH was utilized for detecting Hg2+ with a low detection limit in real water samples and test strips. Detection mechanism of NTCH to Hg2+ was explained with the spectroscopic studies and theoretical calculations. In this figure, Ni-based dual function materials is developed for carbon capture and on-site utilization at isothermal condition. In this paper, an efficient method to synthesize morachalcones B and C was described. Rap‐Stoermer condensation and 1,3‐prenyl rearrangement were used as two key synthetic methods. In this figure , a 1,2,3-triazole linker bridged flavanol and benzenesulfonamide as hybrid molecules via click chemistry. This review shows highly fluorescent polymer dots with near‐infrared emission are especially important in biological applications including analytical sensing, photoacoustics, photothermal therapy, deep‐penetration imaging, and material science. These Pdots are surfactantfree, biocompatible, facile surface functionalization and very stable in 100% aqueous solutions. In this figure , commercial CuNi alloys are converted to be porous Cu-rich CuNi alloys via a simple electrochemical dealloying process in ionic liquid to show improved electrochemical activities towards nitrate reduction. The dissolved Cu(II) ions are re-deposited at the cathode and both Cu(II) and Ni(II) ions can be removed by water extraction. In this paper , a facile, efficient and surfactantfree method to synthesize silica nanosphere supported ultrafine silver nanoparticles was developed. The antibacterial effects of the supported ultrafine silver nanoparticles with the ‘clean’ surface were evaluated against the Escherichia coli even at very low dosage accordingly to the bacterial viability measured by flow cytometry.
