The superconducting transition temperature T(c) of bilayers comprising underdoped La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4) films capped by a thin heavily overdoped metallic La(1.65)Sr(0.35)CuO(4) layer, is found to increase with respect to T(c) of the bare underdoped films. The highest T(c) is achieved for x=0.12, close to the "anomalous" 1/8 doping level, and exceeds that of the optimally doped bare film. Our data suggest that the enhanced superconductivity is confined to the interface between the layers. We attribute the effect to a combination of the high pairing scale in the underdoped layer with an enhanced phase stiffness induced by the overdoped film.  相似文献

The hole-concentration (x) dependence of the three-dimensional energy-momentum dispersion in (Bi, Pb)2(Sr, La)2CuO(6+delta) has been investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. For a heavily overdoped sample of T(c) < or = 0.5 K, an energy dispersion of approximately 10 meV in width is observed in the vicinity of the (pi, 0) point with varying momentum along the c axis (k(z)). This k(z) dispersion is zero for underdoped, optimally doped, and slightly overdoped samples up to a doping level corresponding to T(c) = 22 k. At higher doping levels we observe significant dispersion of the order of 10 meV (sample with T(c) < or = 0.5 K). This is clear evidence that at a doping value corresponding to T(c) = 22 K, a crossover from two- to three-dimensional electronic structure occurs.  相似文献

We present the c-axis optical conductivity sigma(1c)(omega,T) of underdoped (x=0.12) and optimally doped (x=0.15) La2-xSrxCuO4 from 4 meV to 1.8 eV obtained by a combination of reflectivity and transmission spectra. In addition to the opening of the superconducting gap, we observe an increase of conductivity above the gap up to 270 meV with a maximal effect at about 120 meV. This may indicate a new collective mode at a surprisingly large energy scale. The Ferrell-Glover-Tinkham sum rule is violated for both doping levels. Although the relative value of the violation is much larger for the under-doped sample, the absolute increase of the low-frequency spectral weight, including that of the condensate, is higher in the optimally doped regime. Our results resemble in many respects the observations in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7-delta).  相似文献

We have synthesized polycrystalline samples of Eu(1-x)K(x)Fe2As2 (x = 0-1) and carried out systematic characterization using x-ray diffraction, ac and dc magnetic susceptibility, and electrical resistivity measurements. A clear signature of the coexistence of a superconducting transition (T(c) = 5.5 K) with spin density wave (SDW) ordering is observed in our underdoped sample with x = 0.15. The SDW transition disappears completely for the x = 0.3 sample and superconductivity arises below 20 K. The superconducting transition temperature Tc increases with increase in the K content and a maximum Tc = 33 K is reached for x = 0.5, beyond which it decreases again. The doping dependent Tx phase diagram is extracted from the magnetic and electrical transport data. It is found that magnetic ordering of Eu moments coexists with the superconductivity up to x = 0.6. The isothermal magnetization data taken at 2 K for the doped samples suggest the 2+ valence state of the Eu ions. We also present the temperature dependence of the lower critical field H(c1) of the superconducting polycrystalline samples. The values of H(c1)(0) obtained for x = 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 after taking the demagnetization factor into account are 202, 330, and 212 Oe, respectively. The London penetration depth λ(T) calculated from the lower critical field does not show exponential dependence at low temperature, as would be expected for a fully gapped clean s-wave superconductor. In contrast, it shows a T2 power law feature up to T = 0.3Tc, as observed in Ba(1-x)K(x)Fe2As2 and BaFe(2-x)Co(x)As2.  相似文献

We present measurements of the magnetic penetration depth, lambda(-2)(T), in Pr(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-y) and La(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-y) films at three Ce doping levels, x, near optimal. Optimal and overdoped films are qualitatively and quantitatively different from underdoped films. For example, lambda(-2)(0) decreases rapidly with underdoping but is roughly constant above optimal doping. Also, lambda(-2)(T) at low T is exponential at optimal and overdoping but is quadratic at underdoping. In light of other studies that suggest both d- and s-wave pairing symmetry in nominal optimally doped samples, our results are evidence for a transition from d- to s-wave pairing near optimal doping.  相似文献

We measure the penetration depth λab(T) in Ba(Fe(1-x)Co(x))(2)As(2) using local techniques that do not average over the sample. The superfluid density ρs(T) ≡ 1/λab(T)2 has three main features. First, ρs (T = 0) falls sharply on the underdoped side of the dome. Second, λab(T) is flat at low T at optimal doping, indicating fully gapped superconductivity, but varies more strongly in underdoped and overdoped samples, consistent with either a power law or a small second gap. Third, ρs (T) varies steeply near Tc for optimal and underdoping. These observations are consistent with an interplay between magnetic and superconducting phases.  相似文献

The thermodynamics of the superconducting transition is studied as a function of doping using high-resolution expansivity data of YBa(2)Cu(3)O (x) single crystals and Monte Carlo simulations of the anisotropic 3D- XY model. We directly show that T(c) of underdoped YBa(2)Cu(3)O (x) is strongly suppressed from its mean-field value (T(MF)(c)) by phase fluctuations of the superconducting order parameter. For overdoped YBa(2)Cu(3)O (x) fluctuation effects are greatly reduced and T(c) approximately T(MF)(c). We find that T(MF)(c) exhibits a similar doping dependence as the pseudogap energy, naturally suggesting that the pseudogap arises from phase-incoherent Cooper pairing.  相似文献

Thermodynamic quantities are derived for superconducting and pseudogap regimes by taking into account both amplitude and phase fluctuations of the pairing field. In the normal (pseudogap) state of the underdoped cuprates, two domains have to be distinguished: near the superconducting region, phase correlations are important up to temperature T(phi). Above T(phi), the pseudogap region is determined only by amplitudes, and phases are uncorrelated. Our calculations show excellent quantitative agreement with specific heat and magnetic susceptibility experiments on cuprates. We find that the mean field temperature T0 has a similar doping dependence as the pseudogap temperature T(*), whereas the pseudogap energy scale is given by the average amplitude above T(c).  相似文献

We have studied the influence of disorder induced by electron irradiation on the Nernst effect in optimally and underdoped YBa2Cu3O(7-delta) single crystals. The fluctuation regime above T(c) expands significantly with disorder, indicating that the T(c) decrease is partly due to the induced loss of phase coherence. In pure crystals the temperature extension of the Nernst signal is found to be narrow whatever the hole doping, contrary to data reported in the low-T(c) cuprate families. Our results show that the presence of intrinsic disorder can explain the enhanced range of the Nernst signal found in the pseudogap phase of the latter compounds.  相似文献

The thermal conductivity kappa is measured in a series of La2-xSrxCuO4 (0 < or = x < or = 0.22) single crystals down to 90 mK to elucidate the evolution of the residual electronic thermal conductivity kappa(res), which probes the extended quasiparticle states in the d-wave gap. We found that kappa(res)/T grows smoothly, except for a 1/8 anomaly, above x approximately 0.05, and shows no discontinuity at optimum doping, indicating that the behavior of kappa(res)/T is not governed by the metal-insulator crossover in the normal state; as a result, kappa(res)/T is much larger than what the normal-state resistivity would suggest in the underdoped region, which highlights the peculiarities in the low-energy physics in the cuprates.  相似文献

We show that a multilayer analysis of the infrared c-axis response of RBa2Cu3O(7-δ) (R=Y, Gd, Eu) provides important new information about the anomalous normal-state properties of underdoped cuprate high temperature superconductors. In addition to competing correlations which give rise to a pseudogap that depletes the low-energy electronic states below T*?T(c), it enables us to identify the onset of a precursor superconducting state below T(ons)>T(c). We map out the doping phase diagram of T(ons) which reaches a maximum of 180 K at strong underdoping and present magnetic field dependent data which confirm our conclusions.  相似文献

The effect of electron doping on the magnetic properties of the brownmillerite type bilayered compounds has been investigated by neutron powder diffraction in La substituted Ca(2.5-x)La(x)Sr(0.5)GaMn(2)O(8) compounds (x = 0.05 and 0.1), in comparison with the undoped compound (x = 0). In all compounds, a long-range three-dimensional collinear antiferromagnetic (AFM) structure is found below the Néel temperature T(N) of the respective compound, whereas, well above T(N), three-dimensional short-range magnetic ordering is observed. In the intermediate temperature range just above T(N), a strong effect of electron doping (La substitution) on the magnetic correlations has been observed. Here, a short-range AFM correlation with a possible dimensionality of three has been found for substituted compounds (x = 0.05 and 0.1) as compared to the reported two-dimensional long-range AFM ordering in the parent compound. With increasing electron doping, a decrease in T(N) is also observed. The short-range magnetic correlations set in over a large temperature range above T(N). A magnetic phase diagram in the x-T plane is proposed from these results.  相似文献

Motivated by recent experimental measurements of the tunneling characteristics of high T(c) materials using scanning tunneling spectroscopy, we have calculated the I-V and differential conductance curves in the superconducting state at zero temperature. Comparing BCS-like d-wave pairing and the SU(2) slave-boson approach, we find that the slave-boson model can explain the asymmetric background observed in experiments. The slave-boson model also predicts that the height of the conductance peak relative to the background is proportional to the hole doping concentration x, at least for underdoped samples. We also observe the absence of the van Hove singularity, and comment on possible implications.  相似文献

New break-junction tunneling data are reported in Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) over a wide range of hole concentration from underdoped (T(c) = 74 K) to optimal doped (T(c) = 95 K) to overdoped (T(c) = 48 K). The conductances exhibit sharp dips at a voltage, Omega/e, measured with respect to the superconducting gap. Clear trends are found such that the dip strength is maximum at optimal doping and that Omega scales as 4.9kT(c) over the entire doping range. These features link the dip to the resonance spin excitation and suggest quasiparticle interactions with this mode are important for superconductivity.  相似文献

We measure the normal-state in-plane resistivity of Bi(2)Sr(2-x)La(x)CuO(6+delta) single crystals at low temperatures by suppressing superconductivity with 60 T pulsed magnetic fields. With decreasing hole doping, we observe a crossover from a metallic to an insulating behavior in the low-temperature normal state. This crossover is estimated to occur near 1/8 doping, well inside the underdoped regime, and not at optimum doping as reported for other cuprates. The insulating regime is marked by a logarithmic temperature dependence of the resistivity over two decades of temperature, suggesting that a peculiar charge localization is common to the cuprates.  相似文献

We perform a detailed study of temperature, bias, and doping dependence of interlayer transport in the layered high temperature superconductor Bi_{2}Sr_{2}CaCu_{2}O_{8+delta}. We observe that the shape of interlayer characteristics in underdoped crystals exhibits a remarkable crossover at the superconducting transition temperature: from thermal activation-type above T_{c} to almost T-independent quantum tunneling-type below T_{c}. Our data provide insight into the nature of interlayer transport and indicate that its mechanism changes with doping: from the conventional single quasiparticle tunneling in overdoped to a progressively increasing Cooper pair contribution in underdoped crystals.  相似文献

The lower critical field H(c1) for highly underdoped YBa2Cu3O(6+x) with T(c) between 8.9 and 22 K has been determined by measurements of magnetization M(H) curves with applied field parallel to the c axis. H(c1) is linear in temperatures below about 0.6T(c), and H(c1)(0) is proportional to T(1.64+/-0.04)(c), clearly violating the proportionality between rho(s)(0) and T(c). Moreover, the slope -dH(c1)/dT decreases steeply toward zero as T(c) approaches zero, indicating that the effective charge of the quasiparticles vanishes as the doping is decreased toward the insulating phase.  相似文献

Using 7Li NMR shift data, the anomalous local moment induced by spinless Li impurities persists below T(c) in YBa 2Cu 3O6+y. In the underdoped regime, the moments retain their Curie law below Tc. In contrast, near optimal doping, the large Kondo screening observed above Tc (TK = 135 K) is strongly reduced below Tc as expected theoretically when the superconducting gap develops. The limited spatial extent of the induced moment (on first near neighbor Cu) is not drastically modified below Tc, which allows a comparison with STM determination of the local density of states. Our results constrain theoretical models of the impurity electronic properties.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the resistivity of single-crystal films of the Nd2 − x Ce x CuO4 + δ n-type superconductors with x = 0.14 (underdoped region) and x = 0.15 (optimal doping region) and different degrees of disorder δ have been investigated in various magnetic fields (Bc, Jab) in the temperature range 0.4–300 K. It has been demonstrated that there are differences in the behavior of the dependences of the slope of the upper critical field $ (dB_{c2} /dT)_{T \to T_c } $ (dB_{c2} /dT)_{T \to T_c } on the disorder parameter for the underdoped samples (x = 0.14) and the samples with the optimal doping (x = 0.15). The study of the dependence of the slope of the upper critical field on the degree of disorder has made it possible to discriminate experimentally between the superconductors with the d pairing and anisotropic s pairing. It has been revealed that the relative stability of the n-type superconductor with the optimal doping with respect to disordering is possibly due to the strong anisotropy of impurity scattering with symmetry of the d type.  相似文献
