Summary The synthesis and characterization of CrIII, MnII, FeIII, CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII and UO inf2 sup2+ complexes of N-isonicotinamido-N-benzoylthiocarbamide (H2IBTC) are reported. I.r. spectral data show that the ligand behaves in a bidentate, tridentate and/or tetradentate manner. Different stereochemistries are proposed for CrIII, MnII, FeIII, CoII, NiII and CuII complexes on the basis of spectral and magnetic studies. The i.r. data indicate that the carbonyl oxygen of the benzoyl moiety is the backbone of chelation in most complexes.  相似文献

Summary The kinetics of formation and dissociation of the binuclear complex of CoII with histidinato(pentaammine)CoIII have been studied at 10.0°Ct°C25°C and I = 0.3 mol dm–3 (ClO inf4 sup– ). The formation of the binuclear complex, [(NH3)5CoIIILCoII]4+ (L = histidinate), in the 5.7–6.8 pH range involves the reaction of Co(OH2) inf6 sup2+ with the deprotonated, (NH3)5CoL2+, and monoprotonated, (NH3)5CoLH3+, forms of the complex. The rate and activation parameters for the formation are consistent with an I d mechanism. The binuclear species undergoes dissociation to yield the parent CoIII substrate and Co(OH2) inf6 sup2+ via spontaneous and acid-catalysed paths. Comparison of spontaneous dissociation rate of the binuclear complex with other related systems indicated the chelate nature of the binuclear species.  相似文献

Complexes of N-phthaloylglycinate (N-phthgly) and CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII and CdII containing imidazole (imi), N-methylimidazole (mimi), 2,2-bipyridyl (bipy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), and tridentate amines such as 2,2,2-terpyridine (terpy) and 2,4,6-(2-pyridyl)s-triazine (tptz), were prepared and characterized by conventional methods, i.r. spectra and by thermogravimetric analysis. For imi and mimi ternary complexes, the general formula [M(imi/mimi)2(N-phthgly)2nH2O, where M = CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII applies. For CdII ternary complexes with imi, [Cd(imi)3(N-phthgly)2]·2H2O applies. For the bi and tridentate ligands, ternary complexes of the formula [M(L)(N-phthgly)2nH2O were obtained, where M = CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII; L = bipy, phen, tptz and terpy. In all complexes, N-phthgly acts as a monodentate ligand, coordinating metal ions through the carboxylate oxygen, except for the ternary complexes of CoII, NiII and CuII with mimi and CuII and ZnII with imi, where the N-phthgly acts as a bidentate ligand, coordinating the metal ions through both carboxylate oxygen atoms.  相似文献

Summary Acetylacetone bis-benzoylhydrazone (PhCONHN=CMe)2 CH2(LH2) and acetylacetone bis-isonicotinoylhydrazone (NC5H4CONHN=CMe)2CH2(LH2) complexes of the types [ML] and [ML] (M = CoII, NiII, CuII or ZnII) have been prepared and characterized. All the complexes are non-electrolytes and the cobalt(II) complexes are lowspin, the nickel(II) complexes are diamagnetic and the copper(II) complexes are paramagnetic. The ligands chelate via two C=N groups and two deprotonated enolate groups. The e.s.r. spectra of the copper(II) complexes indicate a tetragonally distorted dimeric structure. The X-ray diffraction parameters for [CoL] and [NiL] correspond to a tetragonal crystal lattice.  相似文献

Summary Complexes of CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII, HgII and UO 2 II with benzil bis(4-phenylthiosemicarbazone), H2BPT, have been synthesized and their structures assigned based on elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and spectroscopic measurements. The i.r. spectra suggest that the ligand behaves as a binegative quadridentate (NSSN) (CoII, CuII, HgII and UO 2 II complexes) or as a binegative quadridentate-neutral bidentate chelating agent (NiII, ZnII and CdII complexes). Octahedral structures for the CoII and NiII complexes and square-planar structure for the CuII complex are suggested on the basis of magnetic and spectral evidence. The crystal field parameters (Dq, B and B) for the CoII complex are calculated and agree fairly well with the values reported for known octahedral complexes. The ligand can be used for the microdetermination of NiII ions of concentration in the 0.4–6×10–4 mol l–1 range and the apparent formation constant for the species generated in solution has also been calculated.  相似文献

A novel series of thiourea derivatives, namely, N,N-diphenyl-N-(4-phenyl-benzoyl)thiourea (HL1), N,N-diphenyl-N-(4-chloro-benzoyl)thiourea (HL2) and N,N-di-n-propyl-N-(4-chloro-benzoyl)thiourea (HL3), and its metal complexes has been prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, i.r. spectroscopy, 1H-n.m.r. spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The ligand coordinates to NiII, CuII and CoII in a bidentate manner yielding essentially neutral complexes of the type cis-[ML2]. N.m.r. spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the presence of a distorted tetrahedral coordination ML2 complex.  相似文献

A new series of hexacoordinate cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of 5-(2-carboxyphenylazo)-2-thiohydantoin HL having formulae [LM(OAc)(H2O)2] · nH2O (M = CoII, CuII and NiII), [LMCl(H2O)2] · nH2O (M = CoII and NiII), [LCuCl(H2O)]2 · 2H2O, [LCu(H2O)3](ClO4) and [LCu(HSO4)(H2O)2] were isolated and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivities and magnetic susceptibilities, and by i.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectral measurements, as well as by thermal (t.g. and d.t.g.) analyses. The i.r. spectra indicate that the ligand HL behaves as a monobasic tridentate towards the three divalent metal ions via an azo-N, carboxylate-O and thiohydantoin-O atom. The magnetic moments and electronic spectral data suggest an octahedral geometry for CoII complexes, distorted octahedral geometry for both NiII and CuII complexes with a dimeric structure for [LCuCl(H2O)]2 · 2H2O through bridged chloro ligands. The X-band e.s.r. spectra reveal an axial symmetry for the copper(II) complexes with unsymmetrical Ms = ± 1 signal and G-parameter less than four for the dimeric [LCuCl(H2O)]2 · 2H2O. The thermogravimetry (t.g. and d.t.g.) of some complexes were studied; the order and kinetic parameters of their thermal degradation were determined by applying Coats–Redfern method and discussed.  相似文献

Summary The metal complexes of the type [M(SB)2(H2O)2] and [M(SB)2][where M = MnII, CoII, NiII or CuII, M = ZnII CdII, HgII and PbII and SBH = 2-(2-hydroxyacetophenone)imino-5-(p-anisyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole] have been prepared and characterised by elemental analyses, thermal analyses, magnetic measurements, electronic and infrared spectral studies. The complexes [M(SB)2(H2O)2] possess octahedral structures, whereas complexes [M(SB)2] are tetrahedral. The crystal field parameters of the CoII and NiII complexes are also calculated.  相似文献

Neutral tetradentate chelate complexes of CuII, NiII, CoII, MnII, ZnII and VOII have been prepared in EtOH using Schiff bases derived from acetoacetanilido-4-aminoantipyrine and 2-aminophenol/2-aminothiophenol. Microanalytical data, magnetic susceptibility, i.r., u.v.–vis., 1H-n.m.r. and e.s.r. spectral techniques were used to confirm the structures of the chelates. Electronic absorption and i.r. spectra of the complexes suggest a square-planar geometry around the central metal ion, except for VOII and MnII complexes which have square-pyramidal and octahedral geometry respectively. The cyclic voltammetric data for the CuII complexes in MeCN show two waves for copper(II) copper(III) and copper(II) copper(I) couples, whereas the VOII complexes in MeCN show two waves for vanadium(IV) vanadium(V) and vanadium(IV) vanadium(III) couples. The e.s.r. spectra of the CuII, VOII and MnII complexes were recorded in DMSO solution and their salient features reported. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the investigated compounds was tested against the microorganisms such as Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Bacillus subtilis, Shigella flexneri, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger and Rhizoctonia bataicola. Most of the metal chelates have higher antimicrobial activity than the free ligands.  相似文献

A new series of cobalt(II, III) and copper(II) complexes of 3-(2-furylidene) hydrazino-5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine (L) having formulae LMIIX2, L2MIIX2 and LCoIIIX3, (X = Cl, OAc or ClO4; MII = CoII or CuII) were isolated and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductances, magnetic moments and i.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectral measurements. The i.r. spectra indicated that the ligand, L, behaves as a neutral bidentate towards divalent metal ions via a triazine-N, and azomethine-N, and acts as a tridentate towards cobalt(III) via the same two nitrogen atoms and the furan-O. The magnetic moments and electronic spectral data suggest a pseudo-tetrahedral geometry for [L2Co]Cl2, a diamagnetic tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry for [LCoCl3], [LCo(OAc)3] · 4H2O and [LCo(H2O)3](ClO4)3 and a dimeric square pyramidal geometry for both [LCuCl2] and [LCu(OAc)2] · 2H2O through bridged chloro and acetato ligands, respectively. The ligand field parameters (B, 10Dq and ) were evaluated from the electronic spectral data and magnetic moments and related to the bonding of the complexes. The X-band e.s.r. spectra showed three g values with large magnetic anisotropy for [L2Co]Cl2 in accordance with pseudo-tetrahedral CoII complexes; axial pattern for [LCuCl2], [LCu(OAc)2] · 2H2O and [L2Cu(H2O)2](ClO4)2 with two g values and a signal due to M s = ±2 transition for both chloro and acetato copper(II) complexes.  相似文献

A new vic-dioxime, 13,14-bis-(hydroxyimino)-9,12,15,18-diazadithiaoctacosane, has been synthesized from 2-octylsulfanylaminobenzene and (E,E)-dichloroglyoxime. Mononuclear transition metal complexes of NiII, CuII, CoII and FeII have been prepared and were found to have a metal–ligand ratio of 1:2. The synthesis of di- and trinuclear complexes was achieved with UIVO2 and CuII depending on the stoichiometry of the reactants. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H-n.m.r., u.v.–vis, i.r., f.a.b.-m.s. and by cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

A novel series of 16-membered binuclear complexes of octaazatetraimine ligand, [M = MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII; X = Cl or NO3] have been synthesized by metal template condensation reactions of o-phenylenediamine with N,N′-diacetylhydrazine in 1:1:1 molar ratio in methanol. The proposed stoichiometry and the bonding of the macrocyclic moiety to metal ions along with the overall stereochemistry have been derived from the results of elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity data and the spectral data revealed from FT-IR, , ESI mass, UV–visible studies. An octahedral geometry has been envisaged for MnII, CoII, and NiII complexes while a slight distortion in octahedral geometry has been noticed for CuII complexes. The low conductivity data of all the complexes suggest their non-ionic nature.  相似文献

Three new mononuclear complexes of nitrogen–sulfur donor sets, formulated as [FeII(L)Cl2] (1), [CoII(L)Cl2] (2) and [NiII(L)Cl2] (3) where L = 1,3-bis(2-pyridylmethylthio)propane, were synthesized and isolated in their pure form. All the complexes were characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The solid state structures of complexes 1 and 3 have been established by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The structural analysis evidences isomorphous crystals with the metal ion in a distorted octahedral geometry that comprises NSSN ligand donors with trans located pyridine rings and chlorides in cis positions. In dimethylformamide solution, the complexes were found to exhibit FeII/FeIII, CoII/CoIII and NiII/NiIII quasi-reversible redox couples in cyclic voltammograms with E1/2 values (versus Ag/AgCl at 298 K) of +0.295, +0.795 and +0.745 V for 1, 2 and 3, respectively.  相似文献

Two new vic-dioxime ligands, (E,E)-N-{4-[(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.4]non-2-ylmethyl)amino]butyl}-N-hydroxy-2-(hydroxyimino)ethanimidamide (L1H2) and (E,E)-N-{4-[(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]dec-2-ylmethyl)amino]butyl}-N-hydroxy-2-(hydroxyimino)ethanimidamide (L2H2) containing two different heteroatoms (N,O) have been prepared from anti-chloroglyoxime, N-(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.4]non-2-ylmethyl)butane-1,4-diamine (3) and N-(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]dec-2-ylmethyl)butane-1,4-diamine (4). CoII, NiII and CuII complexes of the ligands have a metal:ligand ratio of 1:2 and the ligands coordinate through the two N atoms, as do most of the vic-dioximes. However, ZnII complexes of the ligands have a metal:ligand ratio of 1:1 and the ligands are coordinated only by the N, O atoms of the vic-dioximes. In the CoII complexes two water molecules, and in the ZnII complexes a chloride ion and a water molecule, are also coordinated to the metal ion. The structures of the compounds were determined by a combination of elemental analysis, magnetic moments, molar conductances, thermogravimetric analysis (t.g.a.) and spectroscopic (u.v.–vis., i.r., 1H- and 13C-n.m.r.) data.  相似文献

Summary Ternary 1:1:1 complexes of YIII, CoII, NiII, CuII, LaIII, CeIII and UO 2 2+ with N-(2-acetamido)iminodiacetic acid (H2ADA) as primary ligand and salicylic, anthranilic or phthalic acid as secondary ligand are described. The complexes of CoII and CuII were isolated and characterized by microanalysis, molar conductance measurements, thermal analysis, i.r. and u.v.-vis. spectra. The formation constants of the 111 ternary complexes were determined potentiometrically in 20% (w/w) EtOH-H2O at 24 °C. The stabilities of the 111 M n+ :ADA2–:aromatic acid ternary complexes are higher than those of the corresponding 11 M n+ :aromatic acid binary complexes.  相似文献

We describe the synthesis, characterization and electrochemistry of a new family of peripherally functionalised vic-dioxime, 5,6-bis-(hydroxyimino)-1,2,9,10-hydroxy-4,7-dithiadecane (LH2), with bis-(thiopropandiol) moieties attached to the oxime. Thiopolyalcohol groups containing two different heteroatoms (—S— and —O—) serve as weak exocyclic binding sites for Pd+2 and Ag+ ions. Novel mononuclear (LH)2M, (M = NiII, CuII, CoII, MnII and FeII), homodinuclear (LH)2(UO2)2(OH) and heterotrinuclear (LH)2MM2 (M = NiII and M = PdII and AgI) species have been obtained with the metal:ligand ratios of 1:2, 2:2, and 3:2 respectively. Metal ions coordinate through N,N of the oxime and S,O donor sites of the peripherally attached groups in the presence of the base. The heterotrinuclear complexes were prepared by the interaction of the mononuclear complex, (LH)2Ni, with Pd(C5H5)2 and AgNO3 in an appropriate solvent. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H-n.m.r., u.v.–vis. spectroscopy, FT-IR., and by f.a.b-m.s. The redox properties of the complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

New picoline adducts with carbamic acid [(furan-2-yl)methylene]hydrazide–CuII (CFMH) (1); thiocarbamic acid [(furan-2-yl)methylene]hydrazide–CuII (TFMH) (2); carbamic acid [(furan-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazide–CuII (CFEH) (3), thiocarbamic acid [(furan-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazide–CuII (TFEH) (4); carbamic acid [(thiophene-2-yl) methylene]hydrazide–CuII (CTMH) (5), thiocarbamic acid [(thiophene-2-yl)methylene]hydrazide–CuII (TTMH) (6), carbamic acid [(thiophene-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazide–CuII (CTEH) (7), thiocarbamic acid [(thiophene-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazide–CuII (TTEH) (8) have been prepared and characterized by analytical, i.r., electronic, e.s.r. and c.v. spectral data. The electronic spectra suggest distorted octahedral geometry for all the picoline adducts. E.s.r. g values lie between 2.251–2.286 at l.n.t. All the adducts undergo a quasi-reversible one-electron reduction in the range +0.47 to +0.51 V versus s.c.e., attributable to the CuIII/CuII redox couple. The electron transfer is much faster in the semicarbazone complexes than in the thiosemicarbazone complexes. All adducts showed increased nuclease activity in the presence of oxidant; the nuclease activity is compared with that of the parent copper(II) complexes.  相似文献

A series of asymmetric heterobimetallic complexes of the type [LMLSn]Cl and [LMLSn]Cl2, where L = ethylene diamine, M = MnII, CoII, NiII and CuII, M = CrIII and FeIII and L = 1-tryptophan and 1-valine, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, u.v.–vis., i.r., e.p.r., n.m.r., cyclic voltammetry and conductivity measurements. The CoIII analogue of these complexes was characterized by two dimensional n.m.r. COSY data. The kinetics of oxygen binding with the complex [C15H23N4O2SnCo]Cl has also been studied. The kinetic data proves that CoII of a coordinated molecule participates in the rate-determining step of the dioxygen binding process. The plots of the pseudo-first-order rate k obs versus [O2] are linear passing through an intercept. The electrochemical behaviour of [C15H23N4O2SnCo]2+ and [C15H23N4O2SnCu]+ was monitored by cyclic voltammetry. Comparison of the electrochemical properties of [CoIIISnIV]2+ and [CuIISnIV]+ reveal that, in both the species, one electron transfer reaction takes place. For the [CoIIISnIV]2+ species E 0 = 0.272 and –1.1 V and for the [CuIISnIV]+ species E 0 = 0.078 and –0.300 V values were obtained, respectively.  相似文献
