In this paper a generalized variational principle with two-field variables is derived from the Reissner principle of elasticity in the curvilinear coordinates of a revolution shell, based on which, a new kind of mixed elements with independent transverse rotations is formulated for revolution shells subjected to harmonic external loads. The resultant-stress interpolations are carefully selected so that the shear part of the element stiffness contains the Kirchhoff hypothesis for thin shells and element stiffness matrices have correct ranks. The elements are free from shear locking and spurious kinematic modes. Numerical examples show that the new elements have good generality and high accuracy for thin and moderately-thick revolution shells.  相似文献

An approach to solving the buckling problem for shells made of a composite material with one plane of elastic symmetry is presented. The approach employs complex Fourier series. The prebuckling stress-strain state is assumed to be geometrically nonlinear. Shells of revolution made of a granular composite material with microdamageable components are studied. Microdamages are simulated by spheroidal pores filled with a damaged material. The concentration of pores increases with increasing load. The problem is formulated using the concept of continuous load and the Kirchhoff-Love hypotheses. A two-dimensional nonlinear magnetoelastic model of a current-carrying orthotropic shell of revolution is constructed taking into account finite orthotropic conductivity, permeability, and permittivity. It is assumed that the principal axes of orthotropy are aligned with the coordinate axes and that the orthotropic body is magnetically and electrically linear. The coupled nonlinear differential equations derived describe the stress-strain state of flexible current-carrying orthotropic shells of revolution that have an arbitrarily shaped meridian and orthotropic conductivity and are in nonstationary mechanical and electromagnetic fields. The forced vibration in the turning point frequency range of a truncated revolution shell subject to a membrane drive or a bending drive at its small end or large end is studied by applying the uniformly valid solutions obtained in a previous paper. The vibration shows a strong coupling between the membrane and bending solutions: either the membrane drive or the bending drive causes motions of both the membrane type and bending type.Three interesting effects characteristic of the forced vibration emerge from the coupling nature:the non-bending effect,the inner-quiescent effect and the inner-membrane-motion-and-outer-bending-motion effect.These effects may have potential applications in engineering.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new boundary integral equation for plane harmonic functions. As a new approach, the equation is derived from the conservation integrals. Every variable in the integral equation has direct engineering interest. When this integral equation is applied to the Dirichlet problem, one will get an integral equation of the second kind, so that the algebraic equation system in the boundary element method has diagonal dominance. Finally, this equation is applied to elastic torsion problems of cylinders of different sections, and satisfactary numerical results are obtained.  相似文献

A nonclassical model of shells that accounts for transverse shears and reduction is used to develop a method for solving the contact problem for inhomogeneous anisotropic shells of revolution subject to a field of mechanical and thermal loads. A necessary and sufficient condition for the correct formulation of boundary integral equations of harmonic functions is established in the present paper. A super-determined problem of harmonic functions is proposed for the first time. Then a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of solution of the super-determined problem is proved. At the same time, it is a necessary and sufficient condition for the correct formulation of boundary integral equations with direct unknown quantities. A relation between boundary integral equations and variational principles is discovered for the first time. And a one-to-one correspondence between boundary integral equations with direct and indirect unknown quantities is indicated. The elastodynamic problems of piezoelectric hollow cylinders and spheres under radial deformation can be transformed into a second kind Volterra integral equation about a function with respect to time, which greatly simplifies the solving procedure for such elastodynamic problems. Meanwhile, it becomes very important to find a way to solve the second kind Volterra integral equation effectively and quickly. By using an interpolation function to approximate the unknown function, two new recursive formulae were derived, based on which numerical solution can be obtained step by step. The present method can provide accurate numerical results efficiently. It is also very stable for long time calculating.  相似文献
