The relation between quantities that characterize the pion–nucleon and nucleon–nucleon interactions is studied with allowance for the fact that, at low energies, nuclear forces in nucleon–nucleon systems are mediated predominantly by one-pion exchange. On the basis of the values currently recommended for the low-energy parameters of the proton–proton interaction, the charged pion–nucleon coupling constant is evaluated at gπ2±/4π = 14.55(13). This value is in perfect agreement with the experimental value of gπ2±/4π = 14.52(26) found by the Uppsala Neutron Research Group. At the same time, the value obtained for the charged pion–nucleon coupling constant differs sizably from the value of the pion–nucleon coupling constant for neutral pions, which is gπ2 0/4π = 13.55(13). This is indicative of a substantial charge dependence of the coupling constant.  相似文献

This paper presents recent lattice QCD calculations of transverse spin densities of quarks in hadrons.2 Based on our simulation results for the tensor generalized form factors, we find substantial correlations between spin and coordinate degrees of freedom in the nucleon and the pion. They lead to strongly distorted transverse spin densities of quarks in the nucleon and a surprisingly non-trivial transverse spin structure of the pion. Following recent arguments by Burkardt [M. Burkardt, Phys. Rev. D 72 (2005) 094020], our results imply that the Boer-Mulders function , describing correlations of the transverse spin and intrinsic transverse momentum of quarks, is large and negative for up-quarks in the proton and the π+. This supports the recent hypothesis that all Boer-Mulders functions are alike [arXiv:0705.1573], and also provides additional motivation for future studies of azimuthal asymmetries in πp Drell-Yan production at, e.g., COMPASS.  相似文献

This talk will report about a systematical implementation of a chiral effective field theory in nuclear matter with explicit pion fields and in the presence of external sources[1]. Within the generating functional approach of Ref.[2] the so-called standard power counting rules for the calculation of in-medium pion properties are developed that apply if the residual nucleon energies are of the order of the pion mass. In addition, for the case of vanishing residual nucleon energies, a modified scheme (non-standard counting) is introduced. For both schemes the pertinent scales where the chiral expansions have to break down are established as well. We report about a systematic analysis of n-point in-medium Green functions up to and including next-to-leading order when the standard rules apply. These include the in-medium contributions to quark condensates, pion propagators, pion masses and couplings of the axial-vector, vector and pseudoscalar currents to pions.  相似文献

We investigate the ground state properties of atoms, in which substitute fermions—electrons by bosons, namely, π?-mesons. We perform some calculations in the frame of modified Hartree–Fock (HF) equation. The modification takes into account symmetry, instead of antisymmetry of the pair identical bosons wavefunction. The modified HF approach thus enhances (doubles) the effect of self-action for the boson case. Therefore, we accordingly modify the HF equations by eliminating the self-action terms “by hand.” The contribution of meson–meson and meson–nucleon non-Coulomb interaction is inessential at least for atoms with low and intermediate nuclear charge, which is our main subject. We found that the binding energy of pion negative ions Aπ-, pion atoms Aπ, and the number of extra bound pions ΔNπ increases with the nuclear charge Z. In particular, for Xe ΔNπ = 4. As an example of a simple process with a pion atom, we consider photoionization that differs essentially from that for electron atoms. Namely, it is not monotonic decreasing from the threshold but has instead a prominent maximum above threshold. We study also elastic scattering of pions by pion atoms.  相似文献

interactions at have been studied by means of a self-shunted streamer chamber filled with helium at atmospheric pressure. This technique allowed reconstruction of the complete kinematics of the nuclear events under analysis, since tracks of slow p, α, tritium and 3He are readily measurable. The study revealed that the 4He nucleus behaves as a Planck radiator, emitting a Planck-like spectrum of high energy γs, when hit by a π beam of . A resonant behaviour in the πn invariant mass spectrum has been observed, with and in the neutron knockout reaction: we consider this to be the first experimental evidence for the existence of the Δ. The observed mass shift and width narrowing are compatible with the activation of an isobaric collective resonance in the 4He nucleus. The collaboration has also observed a resonant behaviour in the πpp invariant mass spectrum in the pp double-charge-exchange reaction, on nuclear photoemulsion, compatible with the activation of the JP=0d dibaryonic resonance with a strong p-p final state interaction. A new direct measured upper limit for the νμ mass has been derived by measuring a complete decay π-μ-e event recorded at the CERN PS179 experiment (Ne scattering): at a 90% confidence level, .  相似文献

We discuss a possible interpretation of the , Ds1(2460), and Bs1(5778) mesons as hadronic molecules. Using an effective Lagrangian approach we calculate their weak, strong and radiative decays. The new impact of the molecular structure of these states is the presence of u(d) quarks in the K, D(∗) and B(∗) mesons which gives rise to the direct strong isospin-violating transitions and in addition to the modes generated by ηπ0 mixing as was considered before in the literature.  相似文献

An absolute prediction for the photoproduction of pions on protons is given in the region of the first pion nucleon resonance. The imaginary part of the amplitude was approximated by the resonant magnetic dipole amplitudeM 1+ 3/2 taken from the theory of CGLN. With this approximation the real part of the amplitude was calculated by means of fixedt dispersion relations and discussed in terms of multipoles.π +-andπ 0-excitation curves atΘ=90° for unpolarized as well as plane-polarizedγ's are compared with the experiments.
