Quotient rings of polynomial rings

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. The multiplicatively closed sets U₂={fR[X]: c(f)–1=R}, (U₂)={fU₂: f is regular} and S={fR[X]: c(f)=R} are studied. By considering various equalities between these sets, many characterizations of Noetherian rings are found. In particular, a Noetherian ring R has depth 1 if and only if S=(U₂): and each maximal ideal of a Noetherian ring is regular if and only if U₂=(U₂).The theory of Prüfer v-multiplication rings (PVMR's) is developed for rings with zero divisors. Six equivalent conditions are given to the statement that an additively regular v-ring R is a PVMR.

This paper contains a review of results on graded quotient rings and new results proved by the authors.     

Finite rings of principal ideals

We investigate a class of finite rings of principal ideals: we derive the necessary and sufficient conditions that the rings of this class are uniquely defined by certain parameters to within an isomorphism.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 12, No. 4, pp. 373–379, October, 1972.In conclusion the author wishes to thank V. Graded rings and essential ideals

LetG be a group andA aG-graded ring. A (graded) idealI ofA is (graded) essential ifI⊃J≠0 wheneverJ is a nonzero (graded) ideal ofA. In this paper we study the relationship between graded essential ideals ofA, essential ideals of the identity componentA _e and essential ideals of the smash productA#G ^*. We apply our results to prime essential rings, irredundant subdirect sums and essentially nilpotent rings.     

Full ideals of polynomial rings

An idealI of the ringK[x ₁, ...,x _n ] of polynomials over a fieldK inn indeterminates is a full ideal ifI is closed under substitution,f I,g ₁...g_n K[x ₁, ...,x _n ] implyf(g ₁, ...,g _n ) I. In this paper we continue the investigation of full ideals ofK[x ₁, ...,x _n ].
