Ion exchange (IE)-vapor generation (VG)-inductively coupled plasma (ICP)-mass spectrometry (MS) method has been employed to simultaneously determine trace amounts of As, Se, and Hg in acidic conditions. Before hydride generation, anion-exchange column was used to separate the analytes from the matrix. Effects of sample solution acidity, eluant conditions and concentrating time were investigated and optimized. The method sensitivity was improved, as well as the ability to refrain interference caused by chloride, mental ions and other hydride-forming elements compared with (CF)VG-ICP-MS method. Limits of detection (3σ, n = 10) for As, Se, and Hg were As, 0.0021 ng/ml; Se, 0.0022 ng/ml; Hg, 0.0007 ng/ml, respectively; and recovery values for interference experiments were between 95.6 and 100.3%. The developed method was applied to four standard biological and geological materials, and the determined results of As, Se, and Hg were consistent with the certified values.  相似文献

A method was investigated for the determination of Sn in soil samples by KOH fusion followed by continuous hydride generation coupled with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HG-ICP-MS). Sample solutions in 3.0 M HCl were mixed in line with a solution of 2.4% NaBH4 and 0.25 M KOH to generate stannane gas. The mixture was delivered continuously to a gas/liquid separator and the stannane gas was introduced into a Perkin-Elmer Sciex Elan 6000 ICP-MS for concentration measurements. A method detection limit of 0.45 mg/kg was sufficient for Sn levels commonly found in soil samples. Sn concentrations as low as 2.5 mg/kg were reproducibly measured in soil samples. Sample results by HG-ICP-MS agreed within ±17% relative difference to results by instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) and within ±6% relative difference to results by KOH fusion followed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES).  相似文献

Bismuth hydride gas was collected on-line and determined via a new flow injection-hydride generation collection-flame atomic absorption spectrometry system. The performance of the gas-liquid separator, hydride gas collection time, acidity of the sample solution, NaBH(4) concentration, and the effects of concomitant interferents were investigated to optimize the conditions of this new method. Interferences from concomitant elements were investigated, and recoveries of 94.7-105.3% for 10 ng mL(-1) Bi were obtained after the addition of 0.2% ascorbic acid-thiourea masking reagents. The sensitivity of this new method was one order of magnitude higher than the continuous flow-hydride generation-flame atomic absorption method with a detection limit of 0.25 ng mL(-1) and a precision of 2.3%. The method was evaluated by determining trace bismuth in standard biological reference material human hair GBW07601, and the results were consistent with the certified value. The proposed method was then employed to determine trace bismuth in ten colored gelatin samples; recoveries of 94.2-105.8% were obtained.  相似文献

A quartz multiatomizer with its inlet arm modified to serve as a trap (trap-and-atomizer device) was employed to trap tin hydride and subsequently to volatilize collected analyte species with atomic absorption spectrometric detection. Generation, atomization and preconcentration conditions were optimized and analytical figures of merit of both on-line atomization as well as preconcentration modes were quantified. Preconcentration efficiency of 95 ± 5% was found. The detection limits reached were 0.029 and 0.14 ng mL−1 Sn, respectively, for 120 s preconcentration period and on-line atomization mode without any preconcentration. The interference extent of other hydride forming elements (As, Se, Sb and Bi) on tin determination was found negligible in both modes of operation. The applicability of the developed preconcentration method was verified by Sn determination in a certified reference material as well as by analysis of real samples.  相似文献

A slurry sampling hydride generation (SS-HG) method for the simultaneous determination of hydride forming elements (As, Sb, Se, Sn) and Hg, without total sample digestion, has been developed using batch mode generation system coupled with microwave induced plasma optical emission spectrometry (MIP-OES) from certified biological and environmental reference materials. Slurry concentration up to 3.6% m/v (particles < 80 μm) prepared in 10% HCl containing 100 μl of decanol, by the application of ultrasonic agitation, was used with calibration by the standard addition technique. Harsh conditions were used in the slurry preparation in order to reduce the hydride forming elements to their lower oxidation states, As(III), Sb(III), Se(IV) and Sn(II) and Hg, being reduced to mercury vapor, before reacting with sodium tetrahydroborate. An ultrasonic probe was used to homogenize the slurry in the quartz cup just before its introduction into the reaction vessel. For 10 ml of slurry sample, detection limits (LOD, 3σblank, peak area) of 0.06, 0.08, 0.15, 0.12 and 0.10 μg g− 1 were obtained for As, Sb, Se, Sn and Hg, respectively. The method offers relatively good precision (RSD ranged from 9 to 12%) for slurry analysis. To test the accuracy, three certified reference materials were analyzed with the analyte concentrations mostly in the μg g− 1 level. Measured concentrations are in satisfactory agreement with certified values for the biological reference materials: NRCC LUTS-1 (lobster hepatopancreas), NRCC DOLT-2 (Dogfish Liver) and environmental reference material: NRCC PACS-1 (Marine Sediment), all adequate for slurry sampling. The method requires small amounts of reagents and reduces contamination and losses.  相似文献

A method is described for the determination of lead by hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry in the presence of nitroso-R salt (1-nitroso-2-naphthol-3,6-disulphonic acid, disodium salt). The method is superior in sensitivity to those using peroxodisulphate, dichromate or hydrogen peroxide as oxidants. A characteristic concentration (0.0044 absorbance) of 0.8 ng ml?1 and a relative standard deviation of 3.8% for 20 ng ml?1 Pb were obtained. The proposed method has been applied successfully to the determination of lead in certified reference materials.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive method has been developed for the direct determination of toxic species of antimony in mushroom samples by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG AFS). The determination of Sb(III) and Sb(V) was based on the efficiency of hydride generation employing NaBH4, with and without a previous KI reduction, using proportional equations corresponding to the two different measurement conditions. The extraction efficiency of total antimony and the stability of Sb(III) and Sb(V) in different extraction media (nitric, sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic acid, methanol and ethanol) were evaluated. Results demonstrated that, based on the extraction yield and the stability of extracts, 0.5 mol L− 1 H2SO4 proved to be the best extracting solution for the speciation analysis of antimony in mushroom samples. The limits of detection of the developed methodology were 0.6 and 1.1 ng g− 1 for Sb(III) and Sb(V), respectively. The relative standard derivation was 3.8% (14.7 ng g− 1) for Sb(V) and 5.1% (4.6 ng g− 1) for Sb(III). The recovery values obtained for Sb(III) and Sb(V) varied from 94 to 106% and from 98 to 105%, respectively. The method has been applied to determine Sb(III), Sb(V) and total Sb in five different mushroom samples; the Sb(III) content varied from 4.6 to 11.4 ng g− 1 and Sb(V) from 14.7 to 21.2 ng g− 1. The accuracy of the method was confirmed by the analysis of a certified reference material of tomato leaves.  相似文献

The optimization of preconcentration atomic absorption spectrophotometric determination of trace lead(II) has been studied by using hydride generation and adsorbent water suspension sampling techniques. The uptake of lead(II) by a specially adapted chelate-forming resin, that is, a sulfonated dithizone (DzS)-loaded resin, was complete in the pH range 6.3-10. Lead adsorbed on DzS-loaded resin was successfully converted into its hydride in a medium, HCI --- H2O2 --- NaBH4 without the need for a desorption procedure. Chelating agents except for DzS and DzS-loaded resin interfered seriously with the generation of lead hydride. Severe interference from diverse hydride-forming elements and transition metal ions is eliminated to a great extent by the treatment with DzS-loaded resin. The calibration curve obtained from the lead-bearing resin-water suspension was linear in the range of 5-500 ng/ml, whereas that from aqueous standard solution was in the range of 5-200 ng/ml. The detection limit of the method depends on the concentration factor and is 0.025 ng/ml in the present study. The proposed method was applied to the determination of trace lead(II) in environmental water samples.  相似文献

A simple and robust on-line sequential insertion system coupled with hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (HG-AAS) was developed, for selective As(III) and total inorganic arsenic determination without pre-reduction step. The proposed manifold, which is employing an integrated reaction chamber/gas-liquid separator (RC-GLS), is characterized by the ability of the successful managing of variable sample volumes (up to 25 ml), in order to achieve high sensitivity. Arsine is able to be selectively generated either from inorganic As(III) or from total arsenic, using different concentrations of HCl and NaBH4 solutions. For 8 ml sample volume consumption, the sampling frequency is 40 h−1. The detection limit is cL = 0.1 and 0.06 μg l−1 for As(III) and total arsenic, respectively. The precision (relative standard deviation) at 2.0 μg l−1 (n = 10) level is sr = 2.9 and 3.1% for As(III) and total arsenic, respectively. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by analyzing the certified reference material NIST CRM 1643d and spiked water samples with various concentration ratios of As(III) to As(V). The method was applied for arsenic speciation in natural waters samples.  相似文献

A rapid, semi-automated electrothermal atomic-absorption spectrophotometric method involving lithium metaborate fusion and hydride evolution has been developed for the determination of tin in geological materials. The sample is fused with lithium metaborate and brought into solution with hydrochloric acid: the tin in the solution is then converted into its hydride with sodium borohydride in an autosampler. The hydride is decomposed and atomized in an electrically heated quartz furnace, and the atomic absorption of tin at 286.3 nm is measured. The detection limit and the linear working range for tin are 1 ng/ml and 0-140 ng/ml respectively. The method has wide tolerance for variation in reagent concentrations and possible interferences, and when tested on some certified rocks and soils having a wide range of tin values, was found to be satisfactorily accurate and precise. The procedure is now used routinely in our laboratories. At least 10-12 samples can be analysed per hour.  相似文献

A method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in marine sediments using microwave-assisted extraction with a micellar medium combined with solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) has been developed. Two kinds of SPME fibers (100 μm polydimethylsiloxane and 85 μm polyacrylate) and different micellar media were compared for the extraction efficiency of the 16 EPA priority PAHs. The polyacrylate fiber with a micellar medium of polyoxyethylene-10-laurylether provides the highest extraction efficiency. The method is remarkable for presenting lower equilibrium times and considerably higher reproducibilities than the obtained in aqueous medium. The LODs obtained ranged between 0.28 ng/ml for fluorene and 7.66 ng/ml for indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene. The method has been applied to the determination of PAHs in a certified marine sediment (SRM 1941a), obtaining recoveries between 58.6 and 111.5% for three- to five-ring PAHs with precision close to or lower than the certified values.  相似文献

Variations in Hg isotope ratios in cinnabar ores obtained from different countries were detected by high precision isotope ratio measurements using multi-collector inductively coupled mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS). Values of delta198/202Hg varied from 0.0-1.3 percent per thousand relative to a NIST SRM 1641d Hg solution. The typical external uncertainty of the delta values was 0.06 to 0.26 percent per thousand. Hg was introduced into the plasma as elemental Hg after reduction by sodium borohydride. A significant fractionation of lead isotopes was observed during the simultaneous generation of lead hydride, preventing normalization of the Hg isotope ratios using the measured 208/206Pb ratio. Hg ratios were instead corrected employing the simultaneously measured 205/203T1 ratio. Using a 10 ng ml(-1) Hg solution and 10 min of sampling, introducing 60 ng of Hg, the internal precision of the isotope ratio measurements was as low as 14 ppm. Absolute Hg ratios deviated from the representative IUPAC values by approximately 0.2% per u. This observation is explained by the inadequacy of the exponential law to correct for mass bias in MC-ICP-MS measurements. In the absence of a precisely characterized Hg isotope ratio standard, we were not able to determine unambiguously the absolute Hg ratios of the ore samples, highlighting the urgent need for certified standard materials.  相似文献

A flow injection-pervaporation approach, where the samples – beech or olive leaves – were introduced as slurry, has been used for continuous derivatization hydride generation and separation of cadmium prior to determination by atomic absorption spectrometry. The removal of the analyte is achieved with an 1 mol/l HCl + 16% H2O2 aqueous solution with the help of an ultrasound probe acting for 17 min. Thiourea and cobalt were also added to the slurry for kinetic catalysis of hydride generation. A CRM – beech leaves – where the analyte had not been certified but estimated was used for optimisation of the leaching step. The results obtained using direct calibration against aqueous standards demonstrated the reliability of the method. The linear concentration range of the calibration curve was from pg/ml to ng/ml, with a correlation coefficient, r2, better than 0.99. The detection and quantification limits were 0.3 and 0.9 ng/ml, respectively. The relative standard deviation for within-laboratory reproducibility was 5.7%. Olive leaves CRM was used for validation.  相似文献

A flow-injection atomic absorption spectrometric method was developed for the determination of trace amounts of arsenic and selenium in proposed spinach and tomato leaves standard reference materials (SRM 1570a and SRM 1573a). The samples were digested with HNO(3), H(2)SO(4) and HClO(4) using reflux column. The experimental details for sample preparation and the flow injection hydride generation method are discussed. The effect of matrix and various acid concentrations on the extraction and absorbance was also studied. The method has detection limits of 0. 15 ng As/ml and 0.17 ng Se/ml. Standard Reference Materials (SRM 1571 and 1547) were analyzed and the results agreed well with the certified values.  相似文献

In this work, a new chelating resin [1,5-bis (2-pyridyl)-3-sulphophenyl methylene] thiocarbonohydrazide immobilised on aminopropyl-controlled pore glass (550 A; PSTH-cpg) was synthesised and packed in a microcolumn which replaced the sample tip of the autosampler arm. The system was applied to the preconcentration of lead. When microliters of 10% HNO3, which acts as elution agent, pass through the microcolumn, the preconcentrated Pb(II) is eluted and directly deposited in a tungsten-rhodium coated graphite tube. With the use of the separation and preconcentration step and the permanent modifiers, the analytical characteristics of the technique were improved. The proposed method has a linear calibration range from 0.012 to 10 ng ml(-1) of lead. At a sample frequency of 36 h(-1) with a 90 s preconcentration time, the enrichment factor was 20.5, the detection and determination limits were 0.012 and 0.14 ng ml(-1), respectively and the precision, expressed as relative standard deviation, was 3.2% (at 1 ng ml(-1)). Results from the determination of Pb in biological certified reference materials were in agreement with the certified values. Seawaters and other biological samples were analysed too.  相似文献

A hydride generation system using a small concentric hydride generator combined with inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was established to determine tin, arsenic, bismuth and antimony in a marine sediment material with L-cysteine as a pre-reductant. Influences of concentrations of three kinds of acids (HCl, HNO3 and HClO4), L-cysteine, and sodium tetrahydroborate(III) as well as sodium hydroxide were investigated. The interferences from transition ions were found to be insignificant for determination of the four elements in presence of L-cysteine. Under optimized conditions the detection limits were 0.6 ng/mL for arsenic(III), 0.8 ng/mL for antimony(III), 1.7 ng/mL for tin(IV), and 1.2 ng/mL for bismuth(III). The method was applied to determine the four elements in standard marine sediment materials and the results were in agreement with certified values.  相似文献

An annular-shaped, high power nitrogen microwave induced plasma (N2-MIP) produced at atmospheric pressure by an Okamoto cavity, as a new excitation source for atomic emission spectrometry (AES), has been used for the simultaneous determination of bismuth and tellurium in steels with the hydride generation method. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the best attainable detection limits at the Bi I 195.389 nm and Te I 200.200 nm lines were 110 and 86 ng/ml for bismuth and tellurium, respectively. The linear dynamic ranges for bismuth and tellurium were 300 to 30,000 ng/ml. The presence of several diverse elements was found to cause a more or less depressing interference with the proposed technique. When bismuth and tellurium in steels were determined, a large amount of Fe(III) in the solution caused a severe depressing interference, while the presence of Fe(II) showed little or no significant interference. Of the several interference-releasing agents examined, l-ascorbic acid was found to be the most preferable to reduce Fe(III) to Fe(II) prior to hydride generation. The concentrations of bismuth and tellurium in steels were determined by the proposed technique. The results obtained by this method were in good agreement with their certified values.  相似文献

A flow injection (FI) on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) procedure for ultra-trace lead separation and preconcentration was developed, followed by hydride generation and atomic fluorescence spectrometric (AFS) detection. Lead is retained on an iminodiacetate chelating resin packed microcolumn, and is afterward eluted with 2.5% (v/v) hydrochloric acid to facilitate the hydride generation by reaction with alkaline tetrahydroborate solution with 1% (m/v) potassium ferricyanide as an oxidizing (or sensitizing) reagent. The hydride was separated from the reaction medium in the gas-liquid separator and swept into the atomizer for quantification. The chemical variables and the FI flow parameters were carefully optimized. With a sample loading volume of 4.8 ml, quantitative retention of lead was obtained, along with an enrichment factor of 11.3 and a sampling frequency of 50 h(-1). A detection limit of 4 ng l(-1), defined as 3 times the blank standard deviation (3 sigma), was achieved along with a RSD value of 1.6% at the 0.4 microg l(-1) level. The procedure was validated by determining lead contents in two certified reference materials, and its practical applicability was further demonstrated by analysing a variety of biological and environmental samples.  相似文献

A procedure has been developed for the determination of bioavailable concentrations of selenium and arsenic in estuarine sediments employing inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) using a concomitant metals analyzer device to perform hydride generation. The optimization of hydride generation was done in two steps: using a two-level factorial design for preliminary evaluation of studied factors and a Doehlert design to assess the optimal experimental conditions for analysis. Interferences of transition metallic ions (Cd2+, Co2+, Cu2+, Fe3+ and Ni2+) to selenium and arsenic signals were minimized by using higher hydrochloric acid concentrations. In this way, the procedure allowed the determination of selenium and arsenic in sediments with a detection limit of 25 and 30 μg kg−1, respectively, assuming a 50-fold sample dilution (0.5 g sample extraction to 25 mL sample final volume). The precision, expressed as a relative standard deviation (% RSD, n = 10), was 0.2% for both selenium and arsenic in 200 μg L−1 solutions, which corresponds to 10 μg g−1 in sediment samples after acid extraction. Applying the proposed procedure, a linear range of 0.08-10 and 0.10-10 μg g−1 was obtained for selenium and arsenic, respectively. The developed procedure was validated by the analysis of two certified reference materials: industrial sludge (NIST 2782) and river sediment (NIST 8704). The results were in agreement with the certified values. The developed procedure was applied to evaluate the bioavailability of both elements in four sediment certified reference materials, in which there are not certified values for bioavailable fractions, and also in estuarine sediment samples collected in several sites of Guanabara Bay, an impacted environment in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  相似文献
