Rf-spectroscopic measurements in the atomic ground state of the 1.2 sec-isotope37K yielded independent values of magnetic moment μ I (37K)=0.20320 (6) nm (diamagnetically corrected), hfs separation ΔW(37K)=240.2672 (7) MHz and the resulting hfs anomaly37Δ39=(0.249±0.035) · 10?2. The37K was polarized by spin exchange scattering with optically pumped87Rb; as a detector for rf transitions the asymmetry of the β-decay of the polarized37K nuclei was used. A detailed analysis of the spin exchange mechanism under the conditions of experiments of this type was performed. This led to an explanation for the observed strong enhancement of the resonance signal heights by the spin bath. Furthermore the dependence of the nuclear polarization and relaxation time constants on the strength of the hfs coupling could be demonstrated. 相似文献

Positronium is an ideal system for the research of the quantum electrodynamics (QED) in bound state. The hyperfine splitting (HFS) of positronium, ΔHFS, gives a good test of the bound state calculations and probes new physics beyond the Standard Model. A new method of QED calculations has revealed the discrepancy by 15 ppm (3.9σ) of ΔHFS between the QED prediction and the experimental average. There would be possibility of new physics or common systematic uncertainties in the previous all experiments. We describe a new experiment to reduce possible systematic uncertainties and will provide an independent check of the discrepancy. We are now taking data and the current result of ΔHFS?=?203.395 1 ±0.002 4 (stat., 12 ppm) ±0.001 9 (sys., 9.5 ppm) GHz has been obtained so far. A measurement with a precision of O(ppm) is expected within a year. 相似文献

To complete the systematic study on hyperfine interactions of light impurities in ferromagnetic Ni, the short-lived beta-emitter8Li was implanted in a thin polycrystal Ni foil. One of the final sites of8Li in Ni was found by means of the beta-NMR technique andits hyperfine field was determined to be -3.65(3) kOe. Simultaneously, the spin lattice relaxation time of8Li at the site in Ni was found to be 1.6(4) s. Based on the comparison between these values and theoretical predictions recently made by a first principle calculation, the probable site of8Li in Ni is implied to be an octahedral interstitial site. 相似文献

The exciton spin dynamics in a quantum well with a magnetic field applied in its plane is analyzed theoretically. The exchange interaction between the electron and the hole is assumed to be strong. The width of the Hanle effect profile is shown to depend on the hole spin relaxation time. The intensity signal obtained under pulsed exciton generation as a function of time is characterized by two decay times, and the polarization signal, by a third time which is strongly dependent on the applied field. 相似文献

The hyperfine structure (hfs) interaction between the metastable 23 S 1 and 21 S 0 states in6, 7Li+ causes very small equal and opposite energy level shifts,δ, in the two levels having the same total angular momentum quantum numberF=I. This amounts to 12ppm with respect to the total hfs splitting of 30 GHz for the7Li+ 23S1 state and has been measured for the first time directly for the case of a core-free electronic system by combined laser-microwave spectroscopy. A new calculation ofδ with accurate integral-transform 21 S 0 and 23S1 wave functions is reported. Configuration interactions and electron exchange and correlation effects, which differ for parallel (3 S 1) and antiparallel (1 S 0) spins, are treated in detail in order to obtain very good agreement between measured and theoretical values for this tiny perturbation. A complete understanding ofδ is indispensable for extracting fundamental constants from two-electron spectroscopic data. 相似文献

The technique of nuclear quantum beats (perturbed angular correlations) has been applied to the investigation of the hyperfine splitting of the2S1/2 ground state in Li-like fluorine ions. Polarization inversion spin exchange at the magic angle (PISEMA) [J. Magn. Reson. A 109, 270 (1994)] is an important experiment in NMR structural characterization of membrane proteins in oriented lipid bilayers. This paper presents a theoretical and experimental study of the spin dynamics in PISEMA to investigate the line-narrowing mechanism. The study focuses on the effect of neighboring protons on the spin exchange of a strongly coupled spin pair. The spin exchange is solved analytically for simple spin systems and is numerically simulated for many-spin systems. The results show that the dipolar couplings from the neighboring protons of a strongly coupled spin pair perturb the spin exchange only in the second order, therefore it has little contribution to the linewidth of PISEMA spectra in comparison to the separated-local-field spectra. The effects from proton resonance offset and the mismatch of the Hartmann-Hahn condition are also discussed along with experimental results using model single-crystal samples. 相似文献

The spin polarization of the FQHE ground states at fixed filling factors is analyzed within a composite fermion model. As a function of the perpendicular magnetic field several cross‐overs between differently polarized ground states are predicted, in agreement with recent experimental investigations. The magnetic field and temperature scalings of the polarization, as well as the magnetic field dependence of the spin‐flip gap are studied. 相似文献

The contact density |Ψ(0)|2 and the hyperfine splitting of positronium in naphthalene have been determined by means of a magnetic quenching experiment.
Results show that the perturbing effect of the medium on the hyperfine splitting is not interpretable as a change of the contact
density alone, since on passing from vacuum to the medium, the contact density and the splitting do not scale together. The
first is reduced by a factor of 0.25, the second by a factor of 0.067. A simple phenomenological model is presented.
