We consider the problem of temperature dependence of the Gibbs states in two spin-glass models: Derrida's Random Energy Model and its analogue, where the random variables in the Hamiltonian are replaced by independent standard Brownian motions. For both of them we compute in the thermodynamic limit the overlap distribution N i=1 i i /N[–1,1] of two spin configurations , under the product of two Gibbs measures, which are taken at temperatures T,T respectively. If TT are fixed, then at low temperature phase the results are different for these models: for the first one this distribution is D 0 0+D 1 1, with random weights D 0, D 1, while for the second one it is 0. We compute consequently the overlap distribution for the second model whenever TT0 at different speeds as N.  相似文献

LetT 0(, )+V be the Schrödinger operator corresponding to the classical HamiltonianH 0()+V, whereH 0() is thed-dimensional harmonic oscillator with non-resonant frequencies =(1, ... , d ) and the potentialV(q 1, ... ,q d) is an entire function of order (d+1)–1. We prove that the algorithm of classical, canonical perturbation theory can be applied to the Schrödinger equation in the Bargmann representation. As a consequence, each term of the Rayleigh-Schrödinger series near any eigenvalue ofT 0(, ) admits a convergent expansion in powers of of initial point the corresponding term of the classical Birkhoff expansion. Moreover ifV is an even polynomial, the above result and the KAM theorem show that all eigenvalues n (, ) ofT 0+V such thatn coincides with a KAM torus are given, up to order , by a quantization formula which reduces to the Bohr-Sommerfeld one up to first order terms in .  相似文献

The reaction-diffusion lattice-gas model is an interacting particle system out of equilibrium whose microscopic dynamics is a combination of Glauber (reaction) and Kawasaki (diffusion) processes; the Glauber ratec(s; x) at sitex when the configuration iss satisfies detailed balance at temperatureT, while the Kawasaki ratec(s; x, y) between nearest-neighbor sitesx andy satisfies detailed balance at a different temperatureT. We report on the phase diagram of that system as obtained from a series of Monte Carlo simulations of steady states in two-dimensional lattices with arbitrary values forT,T, and; this generalizes previous analytical and numerical studies for and/orT. When the rates are implemented by the Metropolis algorithm, the system is observed to undergo various types of first- and second-order (nonequilibrium) phase transitions, e.g., one may identify Onsager (equilibrium) as well as Landau (mean-field) types of continuous phase transitions.Dedicated to Joel L. The contact process is a model of spread of an infectious disease. Combining with the result of ref. 1, we prove that the critical exponents take on the mean-field values for sufficiently high dimensional nearest-neighbor models and for sufficiently spread-out models with d>4:() c as c and ()( c)–1 as c, where () and () are the spread probability and the susceptibility of the infection respectively, and c is the critical infection rate. Our results imply that the upper critical dimension for the contact process is at most 4.  相似文献

In this paper we construct a family {T }, 0<<1/2, of exact endomorphisms of [0, 1] such that the invariant measurem ofT is equivalent to Lebesgue measure but has fractal correlation exponent =2. This shows that an almost complete dichotomy can exist between the information dimension and the correlation exponent in observable dynamical systems.Research supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada  相似文献

A relation between the spin-lattice relaxation rate (1/T 1) of positive muons and the scattering functionS T (q,) is derived for the antiferromagnet MnF2. We find good agreement between previousSR measurements of 1/T 1 and our calculation using neutron scattering measurements ofS T (q,).  相似文献

In this paper we use stochastic methods to discuss adsorption and desorption. The paper derives generalized coefficients of sticking and accomodation depending on surface temperatureT s and gas temperatureT g and shows, that for additive Markov processes, these kinetic coefficients are identical. Furthermore, exact solutions of the kinetic equations for certain simple transition probabilitiesP(, ) are found and an approximation method for more complicatedP(, ) is given. The comparison of the theory with experimental results for noble gas-metal systems indicate a quadratic relationship between the first moment of the transition probabilityP(, ) and the well depth of the physisorption system.  相似文献

Shear-free, general-relativistic perfect fluids are investigated in the case where they are either homogeneous or hypersurface-homogeneous (and, in particular, spatially homogeneous). It is assumed that the energy density and the presurep of the fluid are related by a barotropic equation of statep = p(), where +p 0. Under such circumstances, it follows that either the fluid's volume expansion rate or the fluid's vorticity (i.e., rotation) must vanish. In the homogeneous case, this leads to only two possibilities: either = = 0 (the Einstein static solution), or 0, = 0 (the Gödel solution). In the hypersurface-homogeneous case, the situation is more complicated: either = 0, 0 (as exemplified, inter alia, by the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker models), or 0, = 0 (which pertains, for example, in general stationary cylindrically symmetric fluids with rigid rotation, or = = 0 (as occurs for static spherically symmetric solutions). Each possibility is further subdivided in an invariant way, and related to the studies of other authors, thereby unifying and extending these earlier works.  相似文献

The possibility of having a de Sitter asymptotic stage free of choice of the value of the positive cosmological constant (no critical ) is analyzed in a closed FLRW universe which starts from a quiescent phase of evolution and ends into a textured phase by taking into account multipletSO(n+1) scalar fields. On leave of absence from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil  相似文献

We investigate tachyon dynamics with an inverse power-law potential V () . We find global attractors of the dynamics leading to a dust behavior for > 2 and to an accellerating universe for 0 < 2. We study linear cosmological perturbations and we show that metric fluctuations are constant on large scales in both cases. In the presence of an additional perfect fluid, the tachyon with this potential behaves as dust or dark energy.  相似文献

In this paper we describe characteristic properties of the scattering data of the compatible eigenvalue problem for the pair of differential equations related to the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation whose solution is defined in some half-strip or in the quarter plane (0<x<)×[0,T), T. We suppose that this solution has a C initial function vanishing as x, and C boundary values, vanishing as t when T=. We study the corresponding scattering problem for the compatible Zakharov-Shabat system of differential equations associated with the mKdV equation and obtain a representation of the solution of the mKdV equation through Marchenko integral equations of the inverse scattering method. The kernel of these equations is valid only for x0 and it takes into account all specific properties of the pair of compatible differential equations in the chosen half-strip or in the quarter plane. The main result of the paper is the collection A–B–C of characteristic properties of the scattering functions given below.  相似文献

The usual kinetic equations for the site occupation probabilities in an external field are solved exactly in a simple one-dimensional periodic model with two kinds of atoms using a) free boundary conditions and order of limitsN, 0 needed for a proper treatment of the dc conductivity here b) boundary conditions with metallic contacts and order of limitsN, 0 and c) the same boundary conditions but reversed order of limiting processes 0,N typical of e.g. numerical and percolation treatments. (N and are the number of sites and frequency.) It is demonstrated that though the bulk dc conductivity is the same in all three cases, local bulk properties of the material are strongly dependent on the régime used. The role of the order of all three limiting processes 0,N+ andn+ (Nn+) for local shifts of the chemical potential n in the dc limit is examined (n is the number of the relevant site calculated from a boundary of the chain). It is shown especially that the rate equation treatment (régime a) on the one hand and numerical or percolation treatments (régime c) on the other hand never yield the same bulk values of r.  相似文献

A system of coordinates on a set of selfdual lattices in a two-dimensionalp-adic symplectic space (V,) is suggested. A unitary irreducible representation of the Heisenberg group of the space (V,) depending on a lattice (an analogue of the Cartier representation) is constructed and its properties are investigated. By the use of such representations for three different lattices one defines the Maslov index =(1,2,3) of a triple of lattices. Properties of the index are investigated and values of in coordinates for different triples of lattices are calculated.  相似文献

We consider simple cubic lattice systems ind dimensions with a continuous real charge variableq(n) at each lattice siten. These variables are subject t'o a mean spherical constraint forcing n q 2(n)=Q 2, where is the number of lattice sites in andQ is an elementary charge. The energy of the charges comes from interactions with an electrostatic potential, which is the solution of a symmetric second-difference Poisson equation on the lattice. Two cases are considered, both of which allow the inclusion of the effects of a fixed, constant, external electric field. On the lattice 1=[1,N]d , a Neumann condition is imposed at the surface of the lattice. The lattice 2=[1,N] [–M,M](d–1) is periodic in each direction ranging over [–M, M] and has a Dirichlet condition imposed at the other two surfaces. On 2 a finite electric field may be applied, while on 2 a finite potential difference may be applied across the lattice. The models are exactly solvable. We study the distribution functions on each system and show that they satisfy appropriate forms of the first two Stillinger-Lovett moment conditions. The two charge distribution functions show screening behavior at high temperature and extreme short range at an intermediate temperatureT 0(d), and oscillate as they decay to zero forT<T 0(d). Because of the continuous nature of the charge variables, there is no Kosterlitz-Thouless transition in two dimensions. In three dimensions the change in the decay behavior of the distribution functions atT<T 0(d) is precursor to a phase transition to a charge ordered state.  相似文献

In a recent note Barber showed, for a spin-1/2 Ising system with ferromagnetic pair interactions, that some critical exponents of the triplet order parameter i j k are the same as those of the magnetization i . Here we prove such results for all odd correlations and dispense with the requirement of pair interactions. We also prove that the critical temperatureT c , defined as the temperature below which there is a spontaneous magnetization, is for fixed even spin interactionsJ e independent of the way in which the odd interactionsJ o approach zero from above. This is achieved by using only the simplest, Griffiths-Kelley-Sherman (GKS), inequalities, which apply to the most general many-spin, ferromagnetic interactions.Research supported in part by NSF Grant #MPS 75-20638.  相似文献

The effect of radiation on the combined free and forced convection flow of an electrical conducting viscous fluid through an open-ended vertical channel in slip flow regime and permeated by a constant magnetic field in transverse direction has been considered. The temperature on the walls has been supposed to vary linearly with distance. On the assumption of optically thin limit, the expressions for velocity, induced magnetic field, temperature, flow rate and the heat transfer coefficient due to thermal conduction are obtained and the influence of radiation on these solutions are shown either graphically or in tabulated forms.Notation x, y, z cartesian coordinates - v velocity - 2L distance between the channel walls - B 0 applied magnetic field - B induced magnetic field - T temperature - p pressure - density - magnetic permeability - v kinematic coefficient of viscosity - conductivity of the fluid - g acceleration due to gravity - coefficient of volume expansion - thermal diffusivity of the fluid - c p specific heat at constant pressure - qR radiative heat flux - k absorption coefficient - e b Plank function - T 0 reference temperature - N vertical temperature gradient - M= B0L[/(v)]1/2 Hartmann number - R a=gNL4/(v) Rayleigh number - Pm = magnetic Prandtl number - 2d1, 2d2 thickness of the walls - 1, 2 conductivities of the walls  相似文献

The [, , ]-Langevin equation describes the time evolution of a real stationary process withT-positivity (reflection positivity) originating in the axiomatic quantum field theory. For this [, , ]-Langevin equation a generalized fluctuation-dissipation theorem is proved. We shall obtain, as its application, a generalized fluctuation-dissipation theorem for the one-dimensional non-linear diffusion process, which presents one solution of Ryogo Kubo's problem in physics.  相似文献
