The infrared spectra (700–150 cm?1) of twenty-six complexes of 2-aminomethylpyridine (amp) with first transition series metal(II) ions are discussed. The complexes include the tris(amp) complexes [M(amp)3]2+ the bis(amp) compounds M(amp)2X2 and the mono(amp) complexes M(amp)X2. Assignments of the NH2 rocking modes, v(M-NH2), v(M-py) and ligand modes are based on the effects of isotopic labelling of the amino group and the effects of substitution of the metal ion and halide. The structural implications of the spectra are discussed.  相似文献

A series of stable beryllium(II) complexes of newly synthesized N-aralkylsalicylaldimine Schiff bases has been prepared and characterized. Structures have been elucidated on the basis of analytical, conductance and IR and PMR spectral data. A tetrahedral symmetry has been proposed for all these complexes which are non-ionic.  相似文献

In this work, THz absorption spectra of some saccharides and their metal complexes were measured. The main purpose of this work is to investigate the M-O vibrations, intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen bonds and other vibrations in the FIR region using powerful spectroscopic techniques adopting the metal-sugar complexes prepared in our laboratory. The M-O vibrations in the FIR spectra of metal-sugar complexes indicate the formation of metal complexes. The THz spectrum of glucose below 100cm(-1) was measured at first to confirm the THz experimental method. Characteristic absorption bands in the spectra of various samples are observed. THz spectra of saccharides below 100cm(-1) often have several absorption bands, and different saccharides have various absorption peaks in the THz region, which may be used to distinguish different saccharides. The differences in the number of bands observed are related to different structures of the samples, and these absorption bands are related to the collective motion of molecules. But the THz spectra of their metal complexes are different from the ligands, and no band appears in the region below 50cm(-1) at the present experimental condition, which indicates that THz spectroscopy may also be helpful to identify the formation of metal-sugar complexes, and the changes after complexation in the THz spectra below 100cm(-1) may be related to different metal ions. The metal-sugar complexes with similar crystal structures resemble mid-IR spectra, but their THz spectra may have some differences.  相似文献

Novel series of nonionic Schiff bases was synthesized and characterized using microelemental analysis, FTIR and (1)H NMR spectra. These Schiff bases and their complexes with Cu and Fe have been evaluated for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aureus, Candida albi, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli and their fungicidal activity against Aspcrgillus niger and Aspcrgillus flavus. The results of the biocidal activities showed high potent action of the synthesized Schiff bases towards both bacteria and fungi. Furthermore, complexation of these Schiff bases by Cu(II) and Fe(III) show the metal complexes to be more antibacterial and antifungal than the Schiff bases. The results were correlated to the surface activity and the transition metal type. The mode of action of these complexes was discussed.  相似文献

Thirty complexes of some diazines, i.e. pyrazine, pyrimidine and pyridazine, with metal(II) ions of the first transition series have been prepared and their infrared spectra determined. Assignments for metal-ligand modes are proposed on the basis of the band shifts induced by deuteration of pyrazine and by the effects of metal ion and halide substitution. The He(I) photoelectron spectra of acetylacetone (HAA) and its metallo complexes, M(II)(AA)2 (M(II) = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn), have been measured. These spectra show characteristic metal-dependence, from which the assignment is made. The order of the orbital energy level, d > π3 > n? > n+, holds for all the complexes reported here. The splitting of these orbitals is found to depend on the central metal ion specifically.  相似文献

Photoacoustic spectra of 4-amino-5-carbethoxy-3-phenylthiozoline-2-thione (1) and its paramagnetic metal complexes from Cr(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts have been recorded in powder form on a single beam photoacoustic spectrometer. The infrared spectra (500–140 cm?1) of the complexes [M(pyridine)n(NCS)2] (n = 2, M = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, or Zn; n = 4, M = Mn, Fe, Co, or Ni) are discussed. The v/M-pyridine and v/M-NCS bands are assigned by observing the band shifts induced by isotopic labelling of the coordinated pyridine and isothiocyanate, by comparing the spectra with those of the [M(pyridine)2Cl2] complexes and from symmetry considerations based on their known structures. The two types of metal-ligand stretching bands occur within a rather narrow frequency range and there is evidence of some vibrational coupling between these two modes. Some earlier assignments of vM-pyridine bands require revision. The spectra of the yellow [Fe(py)4(NCS)2] complex and its violet oxidation product suggest that the oxidation reaction involves the transformation of trans-[Fe(py)4(NCS)2] into cis-[Fe(py)3(NCS)3]  相似文献

Summary The i.r. spectra (4000-90 cm–1) of the [Pt(Him)4]X2 complexes (Him = imidazole, X = Cl, Br or I) andcis- andtrans-[Pt(Him)2X2] (X = Cl, Br, I or NO2) and their D3-labelled analogues have been determined. The distinction between the ring and C-H (or N-H) modes of imidazole is based on the relative shifts which these bands undergo on D3-labelling. Assignments, based on the effects of imidazole deuteriation and halide substitution, are provided for the v(Pt-Him) and v(Pt-X) modes.  相似文献

The correlation of the infrared spectra of zinc(II) carboxylates with their structures was investigated in the paper. The complexes with different modes of the carboxylate binding, from chelating, through bridging (syn-syn, syn-anti, monatomic), ionic to monodentate were used for the study, namely [Zn(C6H5CHCHCOO)2(H2O)2] (I) with chelating carboxylate group (C6H5CHCHCOO=cinnamate), [Zn2(C6H5COO)4(pap)2] (II) with syn-syn bridging carboxylate (C6H5COO=benzoate; pap=papaverine), [Zn(C6H5CHCHCOO)2(mpcm)]n (III) with syn-anti carboxylate bridge (mpcm=methyl-3-pyridylcarbamate), [Zn(C5H4NCOO)2(H2O)4] (IV) with ionic carboxylate group (C5H4NCOO=nicotinate), [Zn(C6H5COO)2(pcb)2]n (V) with monodentate carboxylate coordination (pcb=3-pyridylcarbinol) and [Zn3(C6H5COO)6(nia)2] (VI) with syn-syn and monatomic carboxylate bridges (nia=nicotinamide). First, the mode of the carboxylate binding was assigned from the infrared spectra using the magnitude of the separation between the carboxylate stretches, Deltaexp=nuas(COO-)-nus(COO-). Then the values Deltaexp were compared with those calculated from structural data of the carboxylate anion (Deltacalc). The conclusions about the carboxylate binding which resulted from the Delta values, were confronted with the crystal structure of the complexes. The limitations and recommendations were formulated to assign the mode of the carboxylate binding from the infrared spectra. The dependence of the Deltaexp values on the magnitudes of Zn-O-C angles in bidentate carboxylate coordination was observed.  相似文献

The IR and Raman spectra of a series of complexes of the type HgX2(2MP), where X = Cl, Br or I and 2MP = 2-mercaptopyrimidine, have been obtained in the solid state. The spectra show that all three species possess a trans dimeric halogen-bridged structure of C2h molecular symmetry and that the organic ligand is bonded to mercury by its exocyclic sulfur atom.The above conclusion is also supported by an SCF—MO—MNDO calculation on the HgI2(2MP) dimer, which shows that the trans structure is ca 100 kcal/mol more stable than any other intermediate possible structure.  相似文献

The far-infrared spectra of a number of hexakis(pyridine-N-oxide)metal(II) complexes are simulated by means of normal coordinate analysis of M(ON)6 models with point group S6. Contrary to earlier calculations ligand torsions about the NO bond are included in the model. A simplified valence-force field with six force constants and one interaction parameter is refined for Fe, Co, Ni and Cu salts. 64Ni isotope shifts are compared with the experimental data. The mean difference of νcalc and νobs is 5 cm−1. Earlier assignments of the MO stretch vibration are confirmed by this study. The assignments of other low-frequency vibrations are correlated with the radial and angular distribution around the metal atom. This leads to the conclusion that the δ (OMO) deformations are anion-dependent and occur at low frequencies (40–75 cm−1). Calculated frequencies of Raman-active modes are compared with experimental and literature data.  相似文献

The vibrational spectra of Os(CO)(6)(2+) and some of its mixed carbonyl-halide complexes, cis-Os(CO)(2)X(4)(2-), fac-Os(CO)(3)X(3)(-) and Os(CO)(5)X(+) (X=F, Cl, Br and I), have been systematically investigated by ab initio RHF and density functional B3LYP methods with LanL2DZ and SDD basis sets. The calculated vibrational frequencies of complexes Os(CO)(6)(2+), cis-Os(CO)(2)X(4)(2-) and fac-Os(CO)(3)X(3)(-) are evaluated via comparison with the experimental values. In infrared frequency region, the C-O stretching vibrational frequencies calculated at B3LYP level with two basis sets are in good agreement with the observed values with deviations less than 5%. In the far-infrared region, the B3LYP/SDD method achieved the best results with deviations less than 9% for Os-X stretching and less than 8% for Os-C stretching vibrational frequencies. The vibrational frequencies for Os(CO)(5)X(+) that have not been experimentally reported were predicted.  相似文献

Metal(I) hydrides are eliminated as neutral species in the electron impact ionization mass spectra of copper(II) and palladium(II) complexes of ethylene-N,N′-3-benzoylprop-2-en-2-amine. Deuterium labelling shows that the hydrogen atom of the metal(I) hydride is derived predominantly from the ethylene bridge both for ion source reactions and for metastable ion transitions. Evidence supporting the proposed rationalization for elimination of metal(I) hydride is provided by the observation of an analogous reaction in the mass spectrum of (ethylene-N,N′-salicylaldiminato)copper(II). The mass spectrum of ethylene-d4-N,N′-3-benzoylprop-2-en-2-amine shows an unusual rearrangement to give [C7H5D2]+ ions involving a formal phenyl-to-methylene transfer.  相似文献

The infrared spectra of the complexes [M(py)2Cl2] (py = pyridine; M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) have been determined within the range 650–150 cm?1. Assignments of the metal—nitrogen and metal—halogen stretching frequencies (vM—N and vM—Cl) are made on the basis of the band shifts induced by deuteration of the pyridine ring and by varying the coordinated metal ion. If the band of lowest frequency is assigned to a bending mode, the number of vM—N and vM—Cl bands observed agrees with the number required by symmetry considerations based on the known structures of the complexes. On the basis of this work, some earlier assignments have been revised.  相似文献
