Let us consider a Lie (super)algebra G spanned by T where T are quantum observables in BV formalism. It is proved that for every tensor c... that determines a homology class of the Lie algebra G the expression c...T...T is again a quantum observable. This theorem is used to construct quantum observables in the BV sigma model. We apply this construction to explain Kontsevich's results about the relation between homology of the Lie algebra of Hamiltonian vector fields and topological invariants of manifolds.  相似文献

We derive in 3+0 dimensions exact solutions of Liouville's equation 2=exp , by applying the Bäcklund transformation technique in conjunction with the principle of nonlinear superposition. Given a Riemannian structure (M, g), a hypothesis is investigated that if= p=0 n p (M) is submitted to the differential condition (g++)=0, =mc/—which implies that each component of fulfills the Klein-Gordon equation (- 2) p =0, ought to be interpreted as a natural complex of the bosonic fields. Then it is found that the complex admits the interpretation in the sense of first quantization with (M) being a convex set of states, with the structure of a Hilbert space over . The definite spin states of bosons are then pure states which are not conserved by the temporal evolution.  相似文献

The spin-two particle is described by a symmetric tensorh subject to the subsidiary conditionsh = h =0. Their covariant generalization and the wave equation have been obtained directly from the Eulerian variational equations by algebraic methods only. In addition to the tensor fieldh a symmetric third-rank tensor = as well as a vector fieldA have been added, neither of which enter in the final result. The Lagrangian function is taken as a linear sum of all combinations which can be constructed from these functions, as well as terms involving the curvature tensor and its two possible contractions. Variation with respect toh , andA independently gives the Euler equations. We consider the quantum mechanical many-body problem of electrons and fixed nuclei interacting via Coulomb forces, but with a relativistic form for the kinetic energy, namelyp 2/2m is replaced by (p 2 c 2+m 2 c 4)1/2mc 2. The electrons are allowed to haveq spin states (q=2 in nature). For one electron and one nucleus instability occurs ifz>2/, wherez is the nuclear charge and is the fine structure constant. We prove that stability occurs in the many-body case ifz2/ and <1/(47q). For smallz, a better bound on is also given. In the other direction we show that there is a critical c (no greater than 128/15) such that if > c then instability always occurs forall positivez (not necessarily integral) when the number of nuclei is large enough. We investigate the gain in intensity that can be achieved by using a massive object as a lens to focus gravitational radiation incident on the object from a point-like source. An object of massM produces a gain in intensity of the order ofGM/c 2 where is a numerical factor which depends on the mass distribution and is the wavelength of the radiation. For large mass, the gain is large, but occurs only in a beam of small angular width.  相似文献

We study the Sine-Gordon field theory at 2=8. We prove that the theory is renormalizable but not superrenormalizable and we show how the perturbative renormalization procedure works in this case where the interaction is not polynomial. To go beyond the perturbative results we investigate the -functional equation for this theory and discuss in what sense at 2=8 the theory is lacking the asymptotic freedom and how it is asymptotic free for 2<8 in a appropriate region of the coupling constants.  相似文献

A heuristic model for deriving the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron is presented. A term /2 – 0.327(/)2 is deduced, in better agreement with experiment than is the QED derivation of /2 – 0.328(/)2. The result is strengthened by the recent non-QED account of the Lamb shift by Yu and Sachs.  相似文献

We study spectral properties of the discrete Laplacian H on the half space Z+ d+1 = Zd× Z+ with a boundary condition (n,-1) = tan( ... n + )(n,0), where [0,1]d. We denote by H0 the Dirichlet Laplacian on Z+ d+1. Whenever is independent over rationals (H) = R. Khoruzenko and Pastur have shown for a set of 's of Lebesgue measure 1, the spectrum of H on R\ (H0) is pure point and that corresponding eigenfunctions decay exponentially. In this Letter we show that if is independent over rationals, then the spectrum of H on the set (H0) is purely absolutely continuous.  相似文献

The critical dynamics of the Syozi model for dilute ferromagnetism is considered by the use of master equations. The dynamics is soluble as it is assumed that the time scale of motion on the sublattice on which the impurities move is so much faster than on the other sublattice that fast relaxing variables may be adiabatically eliminated, leaving a new soluble master equation. It is found that the linear and non-linear relaxation of magnetization exponents (l) and (nl) increase on dilution to (l)/(1–) and (nl)/(1–) respectively ( is the specific heat exponent for the pure system, which itself changes on dilution to –/(1–)). Thus if the exponents for the pure system obey the scaling law of Rácz and Fisher (nl)= (l)– ( is the magnetization exponent which changes on dilution to /(1–)) then so do the exponents for the diluted system. Similarly the exponent for spin diffusion changes on dilution to /(1–).  相似文献

Successive band-splitting transitions occur in the one-dimensional map xi+1=g(xi),i=0, 1, 2,... withg(x)=x, (0 x 1/2) –x +, (1/2 <x 1) as the parameter is changed from 2 to 1. The transition point fromN (=2n) bands to 2Nbands is given by=(2)1/N (n=0, 1,2,...). The time-correlation function i=xix0/(x0)2,xi xi–xi is studied in terms of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Frobenius-Perron operator of the map. It is shown that, near the transition point=2, i–[(10–42)/17] i,0-[(102-8)/51]i,1 + [(7 + 42)/17](–1)ie–yi, where2(–2) is the damping constant and vanishes at=2, representing the critical slowing-down. This critical phenomenon is in strong contrast to the topologically invariant quantities, such as the Lyapunov exponent, which do not exhibit any anomaly at=2. The asymptotic expression for i has been obtained by deriving an analytic form of i for a sequence of which accumulates to 2 from the above. Near the transition point=(2)1/N, the damping constant of i fori N is given by N=2(N-2)/N. Numerical calculation is also carried out for arbitrary a and is shown to be consistent with the analytic results.  相似文献

The thermal neutron cross sections for several-transitions of the143Nd(n,) reaction have been measured using a semiconductor surface barrier telescope. The143Nd(n, ) reaction has been observed. The time evolution of a damped quantum particle is discussed. Dissipation is modeled by the bilinear coupling to a set of harmonic oscillators. Using a functional integral technique that accounts for initial correlations between the particle and the reservoir, one can express the dynamics of the damped particle entirely in terms of equilibrium correlation functions. The long-time behavior of these correlations is determined for memory damping arising from the coupling to a reservoir with spectral densityI() at low frequencies, where > 0. The time evolution of nonequilibrium initial states of the damped particle is discussed. At finite temperatures an initially localized state is found to spread subdiffusively or superdiffusively, depending on . For > 2 the damping becomes ineffective for long times, and the width of a state grows kinematically. At zero temperature and for < 1, an initially localized state remains localized for all times. For 1 the state spreads, but with a slower rate than at finite temperatures. Study of arbitrary initial states indicates that the process is ergodic at finite temperatures only for 2 and at zero temperature for 1 2.  相似文献

We motivate the definition of the Einstein 3-form G by means of the contracted 2nd Bianchi identity. This definition contains the whole curvature 2-form. The L 1-form, defined via G = L *( ) ( is the Hodge-star, the coframe), is equivalent to the Einstein 3-form and contains all the information of the curvature 2-form relevant for the definition of the Einstein 3-form. A variational formula of Salgado on quadratic invariants of the L 1-form is discussed, generalized, and put into proper perspective.  相似文献

We present upper bounds on the critical temperature of one-dimensional Ising models with long-range,l/n interactions, where 1<2. In particular for the often studied case of =2 we have an upper bound onT c which is less than theT c found by a number of approximation techniques. The phase transition for a spin in a magnetic fieldB coupled to acoustic phonons by a coupling constant is studied. The caseB1 with an upper cutoff of unity for the phonons is studied systematically by using an adiabatic canonical transformation. In leading order the transition line is at =2/B=1. In the normal phase (<1) the ground-state energy is –B/2 plus a function of that is given explicitly as the solution of a pair theory. In the broken symmetry phase (>1) the energy is the classical energy plus the same function of =1/2. It is found that the first derivatives of the energy with respect to and with respect toB have finite jumps across the transition line. Quantum fluctuations in both phases are treated. Higher-order terms are a series of powers of 1/B times functions of . The case of a small transverse fieldB is also studied. The sharp transition disappears and is replaced by rapid variation in a region of order (B1/B)2/3 about =1.  相似文献

In order to clarify the behavior of solutions of the Lagrangian-averaged Navier–Stokes- (LANS-) equations in the presence of solid walls, we identify a variety of exact solutions of the full equations and their boundary layer approximations. The solutions demonstrate that boundary conditions suggested for the LANS- equations in the literature(1) for a bounded domain do not apply in a semi-infinite domain. The convergence to solutions of the Navier–Stokes equations as 0 is elucidated for infinite-energy solutions in a semi-infinite domain, and non-uniqueness of these solutions is discussed. We also study the boundary layer approximation of LANS- equations, denoted the Prandtl- equations, and report solutions for turbulent jets and wakes. Our version of the Prandtl- equations includes an extra term necessary to conserve linear momentum and corrects an earlier result of Cheskidov.(2)  相似文献
