In this paper the diffraction of a plane first‐order solitary wave at a vertical permeable cylindrical wall with calculation of the wave loading on the permeable rigid cylinder is investigated. The analytical solution is obtained by means of a Fourier transformation technique. The numerical results are obtained by using the software MATHEMATICA version 3.0 to alculate inverse Fourier transforms.  相似文献

In this paper the diffraction of a plane first order solitary wave by a vertical permeable elliptical cylinder is investigated and the corresponding wave loading is computed. The analytical model presented here is employs Boussinesq equations to describe the diffraction. The solution procedure is based on the perturbation theory, where a perturbation parameter defined in terms of the surface geometry of the cylinder is used. The flow through the porous cylinder is assumed to obey Darcy's law. The effects of porosity, relative wave length and the incident wave angle are discussed. (© 2006 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. We develop a generalized conditional symmetry approach for the functional separation of variables in a nonlinear wave equation with a nonlinear wave speed. We use it to obtain a number of new (1+1)-dimensional nonlinear wave equations with variable wave speeds admitting a functionally separable solution. Based on a suitable ansätz approach and Hirota’s bilinear form, kink solitary wave, rogue wave and mixed exponential–algebraic solitary wave solutions of (2+1)-dimensional Burgers equation are derived. The completely non-elastic interaction between kink solitary wave and rogue wave for the (2+1)-dimensional Burgers equation are presented. These results enrich the variety of the dynamics of higher dimensional nonlinear wave field.  相似文献

In order to construct global solutions to two-dimensional(2 D for short)Riemann problems for nonlinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws,it is important to study various types of wave interactions.This paper deals with two types of wave interactions for a 2 D nonlinear wave system with a nonconvex equation of state:Rarefaction wave interaction and shock-rarefaction composite wave interaction.In order to construct solutions to these wave interactions,the authors consider two types of Goursat problems,including standard Goursat problem and discontinuous Goursat problem,for a 2 D selfsimilar nonlinear wave system.Global classical solutions to these Goursat problems are obtained by the method of characteristics.The solutions constructed in the paper may be used as building blocks of solutions of 2 D Riemann problems.  相似文献

对带集中质量,变长度(或速度)轴向运动梁的振动特性采用两种精确方法求解.首先,对变长度轴向运动Euler(欧拉)梁横向自由振动方程进行化简,通过复模态分析得到本征方程,并在有集中质量的边界条件下得到频率方程,用数值方法求解固有频率和模态函数.然后,采用有限元方法建立运动梁自由振动的方程,求解矩阵方程得到复特征值和复特征向量,结合形函数得到复模态位移.最后,将两种方法的计算结果进行了分析和对比.数值算例的结果表明:不同的轴向运动速度和集中质量对变长度轴向运动梁的振动特性有显著影响,两种计算方法的结果接近且均有效.  相似文献

We present in this paper a generalised PC (GPC) equation which includes several known models. The corresponding traveling wave system is derived and we show that the homoclinic orbits of the traveling wave system correspond to the solitary waves of GPC equation, and the heteroclnic orbits correspond to the kink waves. Under some parameter conditions, the existence of above two types of orbits is demonstrated and the explicit expressions of the two solutions are worked out.  相似文献

Solitary Wave Transformation Due to a Change in Polarity   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Solitary wave transformation in a zone with sign-variable coefficient for the quadratic nonlinear term is studied for the variable-coefficient Korteweg–de Vries equation. Such a change of sign implies a change in polarity for the solitary wave solutions of this equation. This situation can be realized for internal waves in a stratified ocean, when the pycnocline lies halfway between the seabed and the sea surface. The width of the transition zone of the variable nonlinear coefficient is allowed to vary over a wide range. In the case of a short transition zone it is shown using asymptotic theory that there is no solitary wave generation after passage through the turning point, where the coefficient of the quadratic nonlinear term goes to zero. In the case of a very wide transition zone it is shown that one or more solitary waves of the opposite polarity are generated after passage through the turning point. Here, asymptotic methods are effective only for the first (adiabatic) stage when the solitary wave is approaching the turning point. The results from the asymptotic theories are confirmed by direct numerical simulation. The hypothesis that the pedestal behind the solitary wave approaching the turning point has a significant role on the generation of the terminal solitary wave after the transition zone is examined. It is shown that the pedestal is not the sole contributor to the amplitude of the terminal solitary wave. A negative disturbance at the turning point due to the transformation in the zone of the variable nonlinear coefficient contributes as much to the process of the generation of the terminal solitary waves.  相似文献

We consider vibrations of an elastically connected double-spring complex system subjected to moving concentrated forces. This system is treated as two strings connected by an elastic layer. This paper is devoted to a detailed study of a p-spins interaction model with external field, including some sharp bounds on the speed of self averaging of the overlap as well as a central limit theorem for its fluctuations, the thermodynamical limit for the free energy and the definition of an Almeida–Thouless type line. Those results show that the external field dominates the tendency to disorder induced by the increasing level of interaction between spins, and our system will share many of its features with the SK model, which is certainly not the case when the external magnetic field vanishes.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the boundary stabilization of the wave equation with variable coefficients by Riemmannian geometry method subject to a different geometric condition which is motivated by the geometric multiplier identities. Several (multiplier) identities (inequalities) which have been built for constant wave equation by Kormornik and Zuazua are generalized to the variable coefficient case by some computational techniques in Riemmannian geometry, so that the precise estimates on the exponential decay rate are derived from those inequalitities. Also, the exponential decay for the solutions of semilinear wave equation with variable coefficients is obtained under natural growth and sign assumptions on the nonlinearity. Our method is rather general and can be adapted to other evolution systems with variable coefficients (e.g. elasticity plates) as well.  相似文献
