We study the possibility of stabilizing a Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov(FFLO) state in an equally populated two-component Fermi gas trapped in a moving two-dimensional optical lattice. For a system with nearly half filling, we find that a finite pairing momentum perpendicular to the moving direction can be spontaneously induced for a proper choice of lattice velocity. As a result, the total pairing momentum is tilted towards the nesting vector to take advantage of the significant enhancement of the density of states.  相似文献

The influence of the off-resonant circularly polarized light on the Josephson current in the time-reversal broken superconducting Weyl semimetal junctions is investigated by using the Bogoliubov–de Gennes equation and the transfer matrix approach. Both the zero momentum BCS pairing states and the finite momentum Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov(FFLO) pairing states are considered for the Weyl superconductors. When a circularly polarized light is applied, it is shown that the current phase relation remains unchanged for the BCS pairing with the increasing of incident radiation intensity A_0. For FFLO pairing, the Josephson current exhibits the 0–π transition and periodic oscillation as a function of A_0. The dependence of free energy and critical current on A_0 are also investigated.  相似文献

In doped Weyl semimetal with inversion symmetry, the two pairing states, i.e., the zero momentum BCS pairing and the finite momentum Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) pairing are possible in principle. In this paper we use the standard Thouless criterion for the onset of pairings to investigate the leading pairing instability at the finite temperature. Our results suggest that both BCS and FFLO instabilities are possible depending on the on-site attractive interaction. The competition between the BCS pairing and FFLO pairing is driven by the mutual suppression between density of state near the Fermi surface and finite energy band structure in the whole Brillouin zone. For small and intermediate interaction, the former dominates and supports BCS pairing, while for strong interaction, the latter wins and favors FFLO pairing. We expect our results at the finite temperature can provide some important message to identify the true ground state.  相似文献

The Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov (FFLO) unconventional superconductors attract renewed interest in recent years. However, an unambiguous experimental demonstration of the FFLO state is hindered by the stringent requirements for its realization. In this paper, we explore the relationship between the magnetic frustration and the emergence of the FFLO state on an anisotropic triangular lattice, based on the self-consistent calculation of the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations. We find that the required lower critical magnetic field to enter the FFLO state decreases with the increase of both the anisotropic ratio and the on-site Coulomb repulsive interaction. This demonstrates that it is easier to enter the FFLO state on the structurally frustrated triangular lattice in comparison with the square lattice, and suggests that the layered organic superconductors with a triangular lattice may be good candidates for exploring the FFLO state.  相似文献

The Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) states for two-dimensional s- and d-wave superconductors (s- and d-SCs) are self-consistently studied under an in-plane magnetic field. While the stripe solution of the order parameter is found to have lower free energy in s-SCs, a square lattice solution appears to be energetically more favorable in the case of d-SCs. At certain symmetric sites, we find that the features in the local density of states (LDOS) can be ascribed to two types of bound states. We also show that the LDOS maps for d-SCs exhibit bias-energy-dependent checkerboard patterns. These characteristics can serve as signatures of the FFLO states.  相似文献

In this short review, the recently found experimental evidence that Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov (FFLO) states are realized in quasi‐two‐dimensional (2D) organic superconductors is reported. At low temperatures and when a high magnetic field is aligned parallel to the conducting organic layers, an upturn of the upper critical field much beyond the Pauli limit is observed, as proven by thermodynamic measurements. Under certain conditions, a second thermodynamic transition emerges inside the FFLO state. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) work has added strong microscopic support for the realization of the FFLO state. The NMR spectra in the FFLO phase can very well be explained by a nonuniform one‐dimensionally modulated superconducting order parameter. All these features, appearing only in a very narrow angular region close to parallel‐field orientation, give robust evidence for the realization of the FFLO state in organic superconductors.  相似文献

We study numerically the phase diagram for s and d-wave fermionic superfluidity/superconductivity with spin-dependent bandwidth imbalance on a two-dimensional square-lattice. We also investigate the spontaneous space symmetry breaking states at low temperatures by solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations. It is found that, the spatial configuration of the order parameter, both the uni-directional Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov(FFLO) states and the two-dimensional FFLO state may show up in the presence of finite spin-dependent bandwidth imbalance. Moreover, we calculate the spectra of local density of states, and the experimental proposals of observing such FFLO states are therefore suggested.  相似文献

The theoretical analysis of the Cooper pair susceptibility shows the two-band Fe-based superconductors (FeSC) to support the existence of the phase with nonzero Cooper pair momentum (called the Fulde-Ferrel-Larkin-Ovchinnikov phase or shortly FFLO), regardless of the order parameter symmetry. Moreover this phase for the FeSC model with s ± symmetry is the ground state of the system near the Pauli limit. This article discusses the phase diagram h-T for FeSC in the two-band model and its physical consequences. We compare the results for the superconducting order parameter with s-wave and s ±-wave symmetry – in first case the FFLO phase can occur in both bands, while in second case only in one band. We analyze the resulting order parameter in real space – showing that the FeSC with s ±-wave symmetry in the Pauli limit have typical properties of one-band systems, such as oscillations of the order parameter in real space with constant amplitude, whereas with s-wave symmetry the oscillations have an amplitude modulation. Discussing the free energy in the superconducting state we show that in absence of orbital effects, the phase transition from the BCS to the FFLO state is always first order, whereas from the FFLO phase to normal state is second order.  相似文献

Because of the difference in the momenta of the superconducting order parameters, the Josephson current in a Josephson junction between a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) superconductor and a conventional BCS superconductor is suppressed. We show that the Josephson current may be recovered by applying a magnetic field in the junction. The field strength and direction at which the supercurrent recovery occurs depend upon the momentum and structure of the order parameter in the FFLO state. Thus the Josephson effect provides an unambiguous way to detect the existence of an FFLO state, and to measure the momentum of the order parameter.  相似文献

We report (115)In nuclear magnetic resonance measurements of the heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn(5) in the vicinity of the superconducting critical field H(c2) for a magnetic field applied perpendicular to the ? axis. A possible inhomogeneous superconducting state, the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state, is stabilized in this part of the phase diagram. In an 11 T applied magnetic field, we observe clear signatures of the two phase transitions: the higher temperature one to the homogeneous superconducting state and the lower temperature phase transition to a FFLO state. We find that the spin susceptibility in the putative FFLO state is significantly enhanced as compared to the value in a homogeneous superconducting state. The implications of this finding for the nature of the low temperature phase are discussed.  相似文献

We propose a new type of the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state with a cylindrical symmetric order-parameter. We study the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) theory of the strongly Pauli limited type II superconductor with a spherical symmetric fermi surface, near the critical magnetic field of the FFLO state in the ground state. We find that the cylindrical state has a lower energy than the stripe state, which has the lowest energy in the states examined so far.  相似文献

The possibility of appearance of inhomogeneous superconducting Fulde—Ferrell—Larkin—Ovchinnikov (FFLO) states in magnetic superconductors in a cryptoferromagnetic phase with helical magnetic ordering has been analyzed. The dependence of the critical temperature on the angle between the wave vectors of the spatial modulation of the FFLO state and helical magnetic structure has been calculated within the proposed model. It has been shown that their mutually perpendicular orientation corresponds to the most energetically favorable state. The numerical calculations have also shown the existence of a tricritical point on a line separating the Bardeen—Cooper—Schrieffer and FFLO phases on the phase diagram of states. Furthermore, FFLO states can appear in a magnetic superconductor even at fairly strong exchange fields because of the difference between the effective masses of conduction electrons in different spin subbands and the anisotropy of the Fermi surface.

We present phase diagrams for a polarized Fermi gas in an optical lattice as a function of temperature, polarization, and lattice filling factor. We consider the Fulde-Ferrel-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO), Sarma or breached pair, and BCS phases, and the normal state and phase separation. We show that the FFLO phase appears in a considerable portion of the phase diagram. The diagrams have two critical points of different nature. We show how various phases leave clear signatures to momentum distributions of the atoms which can be observed after time of flight expansion.  相似文献

A Zeeman magnetic field can induce a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) phase in spin-singlet superconductors. Here we argue that there is a nontrivial solution for the FFLO vortex phase that exists near the upper critical field in which the wave function has only spatial line nodes that form intricate and unusual three-dimensional structures. These structures include a crisscrossing lattice of two sets of nonparallel line nodes. We show that these solutions arise from the decay of conventional Abrikosov vortices into pairs of fractional vortices. We propose that neutron scattering studies can observe these fractional vortex pairs through the observation of a lattice of 1/2 flux quanta vortices. We also consider related phases in noncentrosymmetric superconductors.  相似文献

Electron-hole pairing due to the Coulomb interaction in the system of two graphene sheets has been considered. The critical transition temperature has been determined as a function of both the distance between the electron and hole Fermi lines and the triangular distortion of their spectrum. It has been shown that when the distance between Fermi lines is longer than a critical value, the temperature of the transition to a state with nonzero momentum of Cooper pairs (Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state) is higher than the temperature of the transition to the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer state. The Josephson effect for the FFLO state has been analyzed, which is due to the tunneling of charge carriers between the graphene sheets. It has been shown that the spatial structure of the order parameter of the system in this state can be reconstructed, i.e., the FFLO state can be identified from the dependence of the tunneling current on the magnetic field parallel to the graphene sheets. Other experimental methods for studying the phase diagram of the system have been discussed.  相似文献

We present an exact quantum Monte Carlo study of the attractive one-dimensional Hubbard model with imbalanced fermion population. The pair-pair correlation function, which decays monotonically in the absence of polarization P, develops oscillations when P is nonzero, characteristic of Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) phase. The pair momentum distribution peaks at a momentum equal to the difference in the Fermi momenta. At strong coupling, the minority and majority momentum distributions are shown to be deformed, reflecting the presence of the other species and its Fermi surface. The FFLO oscillations survive the presence of a confining potential, and the local polarization at the trap center exhibits a marked dip, similar to that observed experimentally.  相似文献

We study local density of states (LDOS) of vortex state in mesoscopic square superconductors with Bogoliubov-de Gennes (BdG) equation. We develop one effective numerical method based on the finite element method to self-consistently solve the BdG equation. The LDOS for various vortex states is obtained. Our results about the single vortex show that the LDOS has the particle-hole asymmetry and the results for one- and two-vortex state agree very well with the experimental observation. Besides, we predict the LDOS of multi-vortex states, which is crucial for the further STM/STS experimental study of vortex state in mesoscopic superconducting system.  相似文献

We find theoretically that the vortex core in the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state is quite different from the ordinary core for a simple topological reason. The intersection point of a vortex and nodal plane of the FFLO state empties the excess spins. This leads to observable consequences in the spatial structure of the spontaneous magnetization. We analyze this topological structure based on the low lying excitation spectrum by solving a microscopic Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation to clarify its physical origin.  相似文献

Based on the scattering theory, we calculate the Josephson current in a junction between two ferromagnetic superconductors as a function of the interface potential z. We consider the ferromagnetic superconductor(FS) in three different Cooper pairing states: spin singlet s-wave pairing(SWP) state, spin triplet opposite spin pairing(OSP) state, and spin triplet equal spin pairing(ESP) state. We find that the critical Josephson current as a function of z shows clear differences among the SWP, OSP, and ESP states. The obtained results can be used as a useful tool for determining the pair symmetry of the ferromagnetic superconductors.  相似文献

Based on the Bogoliubov de Gennes (BdG) equations, we study the Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov (FFLO) states for d-wave superconductor in anisotropic triangular system self-consistently with a strong magnetic field applied parallel to its conducting planes. We find that the two-dimensional FFLO state transforms to one-dimensional FFLO state as the system frustrated. The calculated local density of states are suggested to distinguish these states.  相似文献
