Understanding the normal electronic state is crucial for unveiling the mechanism of unconventional superconductivity(SC). In this paper, by applying a magnetic field of up to 37T on FeSe single crystals, we could reveal the normal-state transport properties after SC was completely suppressed. The normal-state resistivity exhibited a Fermi liquid behavior at low temperatures. Large orbital magnetoresistance(MR) was observed in the nematic state with H//c, whereas MR was negligible with H//ab. The magnitude of the orbital MR showed an unusual reduction, and Kohler's rule was severely violated below 10-25 K;these were attributable to spin fluctuations. The results indicated that spin fluctuations played a paramount role in the normalstate transport properties of FeSe albeit the Fermi liquid nature was at low temperature.  相似文献

It is shown that the effect of a time-correlated Gaussian random field of sufficiently high intensity on the elasticity coefficient of a quantum oscillator manifests itself in the generation of thermal fluctuations with a 1/ω spectrum in the oscillator. It is also shown that, in any physical system described by the equation of an anharmonic oscillator, fluctuations with a 1/ω spectrum arise at an above-critical temperature.  相似文献

We consider, theoretically and experimentally, the effects of structural disorder, quantum fluctuations, and thermal fluctuations in the magnetic and transport properties of certain ferromagnetic alloys. We study the particular case of UCu2Si2-xGex. The low temperature resistivity, rho(T,x), exhibits Fermi liquid behavior as a function of temperature T for all values of x, which can be interpreted as a result of the magnetic scattering of the conduction electrons from the localized U spins. The residual resistivity, rho(0,x), follows the behavior of a disordered binary alloy. The observed nonmonotonic dependence of the Curie temperature, T(c)(x), with x can be explained within a model of localized spins interacting with an electronic bath. Our results clearly show that the Curie temperature of certain alloys can be enhanced due to the interplay between quantum and thermal fluctuations with disorder.  相似文献

We study the evolution of time-dependent fluctuations and particle production in an expanding dS and contracting AdS universe. Using the functional Schrödinger formalism we are able to probe the time-dependent regime which is out of the reach of the standard approximations like the Bogolyubov method. In both cases, the evolution of fluctuations is governed by the harmonic oscillator equation with time-dependent frequency. In the case of an expanding dS universe we explicitly show that the frequency of fluctuations produced at a certain moment diminish in time, while the distribution of the created particles quickly approaches the thermal radiation of the dS space. In the case of a contracting AdS universe we show that the frequency of fluctuations produced at a certain moment grow in time. Nominally, the temperature of radiation diverges as the Big Crunch is approaching, however, increasing oscillations of the spectrum make the temperature poorly defined, which is in agreement with the fact that AdS space does not have an event horizon which would cause thermal radiation. Unlimited growth of fluctuations indicates that an eventual tunneling into AdS vacuum would have catastrophic consequences for our universe.  相似文献

The Brownian dynamics of an optically trapped water droplet are investigated across the transition from over- to underdamped oscillations. The spectrum of position fluctuations evolves from a Lorentzian shape typical of overdamped systems (beads in liquid solvents) to a damped harmonic oscillator spectrum showing a resonance peak. In this later underdamped regime, we excite parametric resonance by periodically modulating the trapping power at twice the resonant frequency. The power spectra of position fluctuations are in excellent agreement with the obtained analytical solutions of a parametrically modulated Langevin equation.  相似文献

Equilibrium fluctuations of thermodynamic variables, such as density or concentration, are known to be small and typically occur at a molecular length scale. In contrast, theory predicts that non-equilibrium fluctuations grow very large both in amplitude and spatial size. On earth, the presence of gravity and buoyancy forces severely limits the development of the fluctuations. We will present the results of a 14-year long international collaboration on an experiment on non-equilibrium fluctuations in a single liquid and in a polymer solution under microgravity conditions. Non-equilibrium conditions are generated by applying a temperature gradient across millimetre-size liquid slabs. Phase modulations introduced by fluctuations are measured using a quantitative shadowgraph method, with the optical axis parallel to the temperature gradient. Thousands of images are analysed and their two-dimensional power spectra yield the fluctuation structure function S(q), once data are reduced accounting for the instrumental transfer function T(q). The mean-squared amplitude of the fluctuations exhibits an impressive power-law dependence at larger q and a crossover at low q showing that the fluctuation size is limited by the sample thickness. The shape of the structure function, its increase due to removing gravity, and its dependence on applied gradient are in reasonable agreement with available theoretical predictions.  相似文献

Time-resolved laser-induced optical properties of didymium (a mixture of neodymium and praseodymium) doped zinc oxide phosphors have been studied using nitrogen laser as an excitation source at room as well as at liquid nitrogen temperatures. A comparison of optical properties (oscillator strength and dipole-moment) at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature has been done and is reported in this article. It is found that oscillator strength and dipole-moment values for doped ZnO are increasing with decreasing temperature. The increasing trend of the optical parameters obtained at liquid nitrogen temperature of the doped phosphors indicates increase in efficiency.  相似文献

The Brownian motion of the Duffing oscillator is analyzed in the case when the oscillator damping is small compared with its frequency, whereas the nonlinearity may be arbitrary. The expressions for the time-correlation functions of coordinates are obtained in an explicit form. If the nonlinearity is small, the dynamics of the system is shown to be determined by a relation between the frequency straggling due to fluctuations of the amplitude and damping. At large nonlinearity the correlators do not depend on the damping. The frequency dependences of the spectral representations of the correlators of coordinates are investigated for various ratios between the oscillator parameters.  相似文献

The two-dimensional Hubbard model exhibits superconductivity with d-wave symmetry even at half-filling in the presence of a next-nearest neighbor hopping. Using plaquette cluster dynamical mean-field theory with a continuous-time quantum Monte Carlo impurity solver, we reveal the non-Fermi liquid character of the metallic phase in proximity to the superconducting state. Specifically, the low-frequency scattering rate for momenta near (π, 0) varies nonmonotonically at low temperatures, and the dc conductivity is T linear at elevated temperatures with an upturn upon cooling. Evidence is provided that pairing fluctuations dominate the normal-conducting state even considerably above the superconducting transition temperature.  相似文献

For systems that exhibit a second-order phase transition with a spontaneously broken continuous O(N) symmetry at low temperatures, we give a criterion for judging at which temperature T(K) long-range directional fluctuations of the order field destroy the order when approaching the critical temperature from below. The temperature T(K) lies always significantly below the famous Ginzburg temperature T(G) at which size fluctuations of finite range become important.  相似文献

In addition to the case usually considered of a stochastic harmonic oscillator subject to an external random force (Brownian motion in a parabolic potential) or to a random frequency and random damping, we consider an oscillator with random mass subject to an external periodic force, where the molecules of a surrounding medium, which collide with a Brownian particle are able to adhere to the oscillator for a random time, changing thereby the oscillator mass. The fluctuations of mass are modelled as trichotomous noise. Using the Shapiro–Loginov procedure for splitting the correlators, we found the first two moments. It turns out that the second moment is a non-monotonic function of the characteristics of noise and periodic signal, and for some values of these parameters, the oscillator becomes unstable.  相似文献

63Cu NQR measurements of the 63Cu T1 are reported for the quantum critical point system CeCu5.9Au0.1 over temperatures ranging from 0.1 up to 4.2 K. Below approximately 1 K the magnetization recovery exhibits a stable, nonexponential decay function which we believe signals the onset of 2D quantum critical fluctuations, as has been noted in the literature. We find T1(-1) is proportional to T0.75 for the region T < 1 K. The observed temperature dependence is in agreement with a phenomenological model of non-Fermi liquid behavior based on the uniform susceptibility but is inconsistent with calculations based on susceptibility peaks identified via neutron scattering experiments.  相似文献

Amplitude and frequency fluctuations of spontaneous otoacoustic emissions   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Amplitude and frequency fluctuations of spontaneous otoacoustic emissions have been studied. Spontaneous otoacoustic emissions were recorded from eight human ears and two frog ears (Rana esculenta). Record length typically was 80 s. For a recorded emission signal, the amplitude signal A(t) (average A0) and time intervals T(ti) between successive positive-going zero crossings (i counts zero crossings) were determined. Emission amplitude and period both showed small fluctuations: delta Arms/A0 ranged from 0.7 X 10(-2) to 6.3 X 10(-2) for human emissions and was 24 X 10(-2) for both frog emissions; delta Trms ranged from 1.4 to 6.9 X 10(-7) s for human emission and was 50.0 and 55.0 X 10(-7) s for the two frog emissions. There was a positive correlation between delta Arms/A0 and delta Trms as determined for different emissions (R = 0.9). Spectra of A(t) and T(ti) revealed that amplitude and period were slowly fluctuating functions: cutoff frequency delta f delta A of the amplitude spectrum ranged from 3 to 18 Hz; delta f delta T ranged from 7 to 32 Hz. Results have been compared to amplitude and frequency fluctuations of a second-order oscillator, that interacts with a noise source. It has been concluded that an oscillator with linear stiffness (for example a Van der Pol oscillator) driven by white Gaussian noise, cannot account for all experimental results. Other possible oscillators (e.g., nonlinear stiffness) and noise sources (e.g., narrow-band noise), that may account for the observed phenomena, are discussed.  相似文献

The excess fluctuations of the phase-conjugate (PC) signal generated via pulsed degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) in sodium vapor are investigated. Various dye-laser oscillator and amplifier combinations are employed to trace the sources of these fluctuations. For DFWM driven by an externally-stabilized cw dye-laser oscillator amplified with a dye system pumped by the smoothed pulses of a Nd:YAG laser, the PC excess fluctuations are very highly correlated with the energy fluctuations of the input amplified dye-laser pulses. Thus, input-pulse selection on the basis of energy alone permits observation of the quantum-mechanical fluctuations of the PC signal.  相似文献

In this work, we use linear invariants and the dynamical invariant method to obtain exact solutions of the Schrödinger equation for the generalized time-dependent forced harmonic oscillator in terms of solutions of a second order ordinary differential equation that describes the amplitude of the classical unforced damped oscillator. In addition, we construct Gaussian wave packet solutions and calculate the fluctuations in coordinate and momentum as well as the quantum correlations between coordinate and momentum. It is shown that the width of the Gaussian packet, fluctuations and correlations do not depend on the external force. As a particular case, we consider the forced Caldirola-Kanai oscillator.  相似文献

A steady shear flow can drive supercooled liquids into a non-equilibrium state. Using molecular dynamics simulations under steady shear flow superimposed with oscillatory shear strain for a probe, non-equilibrium mechanical responses are studied for a model supercooled liquid composed of binary soft spheres. We found that even in the strongly sheared situation, the supercooled liquid exhibits surprisingly isotropic responses to oscillating shear strains applied in three different components of the strain tensor. Based on this isotropic feature, we successfully constructed a simple two-mode Maxwell model that can capture the key features of the storage and loss moduli, even for highly non-equilibrium state. Furthermore, we examined the correlation functions of the shear stress fluctuations, which also exhibit isotropic relaxation behaviors in the sheared non-equilibrium situation. In contrast to the isotropic features, the supercooled liquid additionally demonstrates anisotropies in both its responses and its correlations to the shear stress fluctuations. Using the constitutive equation (a two-mode Maxwell model), we demonstrated that the anisotropic responses are caused by the coupling between the oscillating strain and the driving shear flow. Due to these anisotropic responses and fluctuations, the violation of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem (FDT) is distinct for different components. We measured the magnitude of this violation in terms of the effective temperature. It was demonstrated that the effective temperature is notably different between different components, which indicates that a simple scalar mapping, such as the concept of an effective temperature, oversimplifies the true nature of supercooled liquids under shear flow. An understanding of the mechanism of isotropies and anisotropies in the responses and fluctuations will lead to a better appreciation of these violations of the FDT, as well as certain consequent modifications to the concept of an effective temperature.  相似文献

Based on the scheme of damped harmonic oscillator quantization and thermo-field dynamics (TFD), the quantization of mesoscopic damped double resonance RLC circuit with mutual capacitance--inductance coupling is proposed. The quantum fluctuations of charge and current of each loop in a squeezed vacuum state are studied in the thermal excitation case. It is shown that the fluctuations not only depend on circuit inherent parameters, but also rely on excitation quantum number and squeezing parameter. Moreover, due to the finite environmental temperature and damped resistance, the fluctuations increase with the temperature rising, and decay with time.  相似文献

A macroscopic counterpart to the microscopic mechanism of the straightening dimer mesogens conformations, proposed recently by S.M. Saliti, M.G. Tamba, S.N. Sprunt, C. Welch, G.H. Mehl, A. Jakli, and J.T. Gleeson [Phys. Rev. Lett. 116, 217801 (2016)] to explain their experimental observation of the unprecedentedly large shift of the nematic–isotropic transition temperature is discussed. The proposed interpretation is based on singular longitudinal fluctuations of the nematic order parameter. Since these fluctuations are governed by the Goldstone director fluctuations, they exist only in the nematic state. External magnetic field suppresses the singular longitudinal fluctuations of the order parameter (similarly as is the case for the transverse director fluctuations, although with a different scaling over the magnetic field). The reduction of the fluctuations changes the equilibrium value of the magnitude of the order parameter in the nematic state. Therefore, it leads to additional (with respect to the mean field contribution) fluctuation shift of the nematic–isotropic transition temperature. Our mechanism works for any nematic liquid crystals, however the magnitude of the fluctuation shift increases with decrease in the Frank elastic moduli. Since some of these moduli supposed to be anomalously small for so-called bent-core or dimer nematic liquid crystals, just these liquid crystals are promising candidates for the observation of the predicted fluctuation shift of the phase transition temperature.  相似文献
