boundary. It extends the theory on linear symmetric hyperbolic systems established by Friedrichs to the nonlinear case. The
concept on regular characteristics and dissipative boundary conditions are given for quasilinear hyperbolic systems. Under
some assumptions, an existence theorem for such initial boundary value problems is obtained. The theorem can also be applied
to the Euler system of compressible flow.

We obtain the Lp–Lq maximal regularity of the Stokes equations with Robin boundary condition in a bounded domain in ?n (n?2). The Robin condition consists of two conditions: v ? u=0 and αu+β(T(u, p)v – 〈T(u, p)v, v〉v)=h on the boundary of the domain with α, β?0 and α+β=1, where u and p denote a velocity vector and a pressure, T(u, p) the stress tensor for the Stokes flow and v the unit outer normal to the boundary of the domain. It presents the slip condition when β=1 and non‐slip one when α=1, respectively. The slip condition is appropriate for problems that involve free boundaries. A Robin type boundary condition with a sign-changing coefficient is treated. First, the associated linear elliptic eigenvalue problem is studied, where the existence of a principal eigenvalue is discussed by the use of a variational approach. Second, the associated semilinear elliptic boundary value problem of logistic type is studied and the one parameter-dependent structure of positive solutions is investigated, where results obtained are due to the construction of suitable super- and subsolutions by using the principal positive eigenfunctions of the linear eigenvalue problem. 相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate Green's function for parabolic and elliptic systems satisfying a possibly nonlocal Robin-type boundary condition. We construct Green's function for parabolic systems with time-dependent coefficients satisfying a possibly nonlocal Robin-type boundary condition assuming that weak solutions of the system are locally Hölder continuous in the interior of the domain, and as a corollary we construct Green's function for elliptic system with a Robin-type condition. Also, we obtain Gaussian bound for Robin Green's function under an additional assumption that weak solutions of Robin problem are locally bounded up to the boundary. We provide some examples satisfying such a local boundedness property, and thus have Gaussian bounds for their Green's functions. 相似文献

In this paper, we give a nonoscillation criterion for half-linear equations with periodic coefficients under fixed moments of impulse actions. The method is based on the existence of positive solutions of the related Riccati equation and a recently obtained comparison principle.
