The present paper deals with derivations of noncommutative Arens algebras. We prove that every derivation of an Arens algebra associated with a von Neumann algebra and a faithful normal finite trace is inner. In particular, each derivation on such algebras is automatically continuous in the natural topology, and in the commutative case, even for semi-finite traces, all derivations are identically zero. At the same time, the existence of noninner derivations is proved for noncommutative Arens algebras with a semi-finite but nonfinite trace.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity, A and B be unital algebras over R and M be a unital (it A,it B)-bimodule. Let be the triangular algebra consisting of A, it Band M. Motivated by the work of Cheung [14] we mainly consider the question whether every higher derivation on a triangular algebra is an inner higher derivation. Let A be a semisimple and regular commutative Banach algebra with structure space Δ(A). Continuing our investigation in [E. Kaniuth, Weak spectral synthesis in commutative Banach algebras, J. Funct. Anal. 254 (2008) 987-1002], we establish various results on intersections and unions of weak spectral sets and weak Ditkin sets in Δ(A). As an important example, the algebra of n-times continuously differentiable functions is studied in detail. In addition, we prove a theorem on spectral synthesis for projective tensor products of commutative Banach algebras which applies to Fourier algebras of locally compact groups.  相似文献

The additive(generalized)ξ-Lie derivations on prime algebras are characterized. It is shown, under some suitable assumptions, that an additive map L is an additive generalized Lie derivation if and only if it is the sum of an additive generalized derivation and an additive map from the algebra into its center vanishing all commutators; is an additive(generalized)ξ-Lie derivation with ξ = 1 if and only if it is an additive(generalized)derivation satisfying L(ξA)= ξL(A)for all A. These results are then used to characterize additive(generalized)ξ-Lie derivations on several operator algebras such as Banach space standard operator algebras and von Neumman algebras.  相似文献

The present paper is devoted to genetic Volterra algebras. We first study characters of such algebras. We fully describe associative genetic Volterra algebras, in this case all derivations are trivial. In general setting, i.e., when the algebra is not associative, we provide a su?cient condition to get trivial derivation on generic Volterra algebras. Furthermore, we describe all derivations of three dimensional generic Volterra algebras, which allowed us to prove that any local derivation is a derivation of the algebra.  相似文献

We prove that each 2-local derivation from the algebra Mn(A ) (n > 2) into its bimodule Mn(M) is a derivation, where A is a unital Banach algebra and M is a unital A -bimodule such that each Jordan derivation from A into M is an inner derivation, and that each 2-local derivation on a C*-algebra with a faithful traceable representation is a derivation. We also characterize local and 2-local Lie derivations on some algebras such as von Neumann algebras, nest algebras, the Jiang–Su algebra, and UHF algebras.  相似文献

We give some sufficient conditions that each multiplier on a faithful commutative Banach algebra has SVEP. On the other hand, we show that there exist a faithful commutative Banach algebra and a multiplier on it without SVEP. Such examples of multipliers can actually be found within the class of multiplication operators on unital commutative Banach algebras. This answers in negative a question that is stated as Open problem 6.2.1 by Laursen and Neumann, 2000.

We study certain commutative regular semisimple Banach algebras which we call hyper-Tauberian algebras. We first show that they form a subclass of weakly amenable Tauberian algebras. Then we investigate the basic and hereditary properties of them. Moreover, we show that if A is a hyper-Tauberian algebra, then the linear space of bounded derivations from A into any Banach A-bimodule is reflexive. We apply these results to the Figà-Talamanca-Herz algebra Ap(G) of a locally compact group G for p∈(1,∞). We show that Ap(G) is hyper-Tauberian if the principal component of G is abelian. Finally, by considering the quantization of these results, we show that for any locally compact group G, Ap(G), equipped with an appropriate operator space structure, is a quantized hyper-Tauberian algebra. This, in particular, implies that Ap(G) is operator weakly amenable.  相似文献

We prove that an isometry T between open subgroups of the invertible groups of unital Banach algebras A and B is extended to a real-linear isometry up to translation between these Banach algebras. While a unital isometry between unital semisimple commutative Banach algebras need not be multiplicative, we prove in this paper that if A is commutative and A or B are semisimple, then (T(eA))−1T is extended to an isometric real algebra isomorphism from A onto B. In particular, A−1 is isometric as a metric space to B−1 if and only if they are isometrically isomorphic to each other as metrizable groups if and only if A is isometrically isomorphic to B as a real Banach algebra; it is compared by the example of ?elazko concerning on non-isomorphic Banach algebras with the homeomorphically isomorphic invertible groups. Isometries between open subgroups of the invertible groups of unital closed standard operator algebras on Banach spaces are investigated and their general forms are given.  相似文献

It is shown that any generalized Jordan (triple-)derivation on a 2–torsion free semiprime ring is a generalized derivation and that any generalized Jordan higher derivation on a 2–torsion free semiprime ring is a generalized higher derivation. Then we give several conditions which enable some generalized Jordan derivations on prime rings to degenerate left or right multipliers. Lastly, we apply these degenerating conditions to discuss the range inclusion problems of generalized derivations on noncommutative Banach algebras.  相似文献

Let A be a unital algebra and let M be a unitary A-bimodule. We consider generalized Lie derivations mapping from A to M. Our results are applied to triangular algebras, in particular to nest algebras and (block) upper triangular matrix algebras. We prove that under certain conditions each generalized Lie derivation of a triangular algebra A is the sum of a generalized derivation and a central map which vanishes on all commutators of A.  相似文献

We will show that an uniform treatment yields Wiener–Tauberian type results for various Banach algebras and modules consisting of radial sections of some homogenous vector bundles on rank one Riemannian symmetric spaces G/K of noncompact type. One example of such a vector bundle is the spinor bundle. The algebras and modules we consider are natural generalizations of the commutative Banach algebra of integrable radial functions on G/K. The first set of them are Beurling algebras with analytic weights, while the second set arises due to Kunze–Stein phenomenon for noncompact semisimple Lie groups.  相似文献

We study the weak module amenability of Banach algebras which are Banach module over another Banach algebra with compatible actions. A structure of a left-symmetric algebra on the set of all derivations of a free algebra is introduced such that its commutator algebra becomes the usual Lie algebra of derivations. Left and right nilpotent elements of left-symmetric algebras of derivations are studied. Simple left-symmetric algebras of derivations and Novikov algebras of derivations are described. It is also proved that the positive part of the left-symmetric algebra of derivations of a free nonassociative symmetric m-ary algebra in one free variable is generated by one derivation and some right nilpotent derivations are described.  相似文献

Let 𝒜 be a unital algebra and let ? be a unitary 𝒜-bimodule. We consider Jordan generalized derivations mapping from 𝒜 into ?. Our results on unitary algebras are applied to triangular algebras.
