The ABC effect-an intriguing low-mass enhancement in the ππ invariant mass spectrum-is known from inclusive measurements of two-pion production in nuclear fusion reactions. First exclusive measurements carried out at CELSIUS-WASA for the fusion reactions leading to d or 3He reveal this effect to be a σ-channel phenomenon associated with the formation of a ΔΔ system in the intermediate state and combined with a resonance-like behavior in the total cross-section. Together with the observation that the differential distributions do not change in shape over the resonance region the features fulfill the criteria of an isoscalar s-channel resonance in pn and NNππ systems, if the two emitted nucleons are bound. It obviously is robust enough to survive in nuclei as a dibaryonic resonance configuration. In this context also the phenomenon of NΔ resonances is reexamined.  相似文献

The ratio η/s, shear viscosity (η) to entropy density (s), reaches its local minimum at the (second order) phase transition temperature in a wide class of systems. It was suspected that this behavior might be universal. However, a counterexample is found in a system of two weakly self-interacting real scalar fields with one of them condensing at low temperatures while the other remains in the symmetric phase. There is no interaction between the two fields. In our mean field analysis the resulting η/s is monotonically decreasing in temperature despite the second order phase transition.  相似文献

Large-scale circulation in the confined thermal turbulence of mercury is studied experimentally. The instantaneous velocity profile at 128 points is directly measured using ultrasonic velocimetry and the temperature fluctuation is simultaneously obtained by a small thermistor at the cell center. The periodic velocity oscillation is observed for aspect ratios Γ=1,2, but for Γ=0.5. The temperature oscillation is confirmed only in the Γ=2 cell. It is found that the flow patterns depending on the aspect ratio are characterized sufficiently by the joint probability density function up to Ra=4×108.  相似文献

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films were deposited on Si(1 0 0) substrates using plasma deposition technique. The deposited films were irradiated using 2 MeV N+ ions at fluences of 1×1014, 1×1015 and 5×1015 ions/cm2. Samples have been characterized by using Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Analysis of Raman spectra shows a gradual shift of both D and G band peaks towards higher frequencies along with an increase of the intensity ratio, I(D)/I(G), with increasing ion fluence in irradiation. These results are consistent with an increase of sp2 bonding. XPS results also show a monotonic increase of sp2/sp3 hybridization ratio with increasing ion fluence. Plan view TEM images show the formation of clusters in the irradiated DLC films. HRTEM micrographs from the samples irradiated at a fluence of 5×1015 ions/cm2 show the lattice image with an average interplanar spacing of 0.34 nm, revealing that the clusters are graphite clusters. The crystallographic planes in these clusters are somewhat distorted compared to the perfect graphite structure.  相似文献

I discuss the implications of the observed masses and mixings of neutrinos for unification beyond the standard model and point out the important role that ongoing searches for the remaining mixing angle θ13, neutrinoless double beta decay as well as possible searches for a Z at LHC can play in this discussion.  相似文献

Muon spin relaxation (μSR) studies of the “1111” and “122” FeAs systems have detected static magnetism with variably sized ordered moments in their parent compounds. The phase diagrams of FeAs, CuO, organic BEDT, A3C60 and heavy-fermion systems indicate competition between static magnetism and superconductivity, associated with first-order phase transitions at quantum phase boundaries. In both FeAs and CuO systems, the superfluid density ns/m* at T→0 exhibits a nearly linear scaling with Tc. Analogous to the roton-minimum energy scaling with the lambda transition temperature in superfluid 4He, clear scaling with Tc was also found for the energy of the magnetic resonance mode in cuprates, (Ba,K)Fe2As2, CeCoIn5 and CeCu2Si2, as well as the energy of the superconducting coherence peak observed by angle resolved photo emission (ARPES) in the cuprates near (π,0). Both the superfluid density and the energy of these pair-non-breaking soft-mode excitations determine the superconducting Tc via phase fluctuations of condensed bosons. Combining these observations and common dispersion relations of spin and charge collective excitations in the cuprates, we propose a resonant spin-charge motion/coupling, “traffic-light resonance,” expected when the charge energy scale εF becomes comparable to the spin fluctuation energy scale ?ωSF~J, as the process which leads to pair formation in these correlated electron superconductors.  相似文献

In this study, a phase-change memory device was fabricated and the origin of device failure mode was examined using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) was used as the active phase-change material in the memory device and the active pore size was designed to be 0.5 m. After the programming signals of more than 2×106 cycles were repeatedly applied to the device, the high-resistance memory state (reset) could not be rewritten and the cell resistance was fixed at the low-resistance state (set). Based on TEM and EDS studies, Sb excess and Ge deficiency in the device operating region had a strong effect on device reliability, especially under endurance-demanding conditions. An abnormal segregation and oxidation of Ge also was observed in the region between the device operating and inactive peripheral regions. To guarantee an data endurability of more than 1×1010 cycles of PRAM, it is very important to develop phase-change materials with more stable compositions and to reduce the current required for programming.  相似文献

The potential energy curves, permanent and transition dipole moments as well as spin-orbit and angular coupling matrix elements between the KCs electronic states converging to the lowest three dissociation limits were evaluated in the basis of the spin-averaged wavefunctions corresponding to pure Hund’s coupling case (a). The quasi-relativistic matrix elements have been obtained for a wide range of internuclear distance by using of small (9-electrons) effective core pseudopotentials of both atoms. The core-valence correlation has been accounted for a large scale multi-reference configuration interaction method combined with semi-empirical core polarization potentials. The static dipole polarizabilities of the ground X1Σ+ and a3Σ+ states were extracted from the closed-shell coupled-cluster energies by the finite-field method. Among the singlet and triplet Σ+ states manifold the pronounced avoided crossing effect between repulsive walls of the (2,3)3Σ+ states has been discovered and analyzed by finite-difference calculation of radial coupling matrix elements. The resulting transition dipole moments and potentials were used to predict radiative lifetimes and emission branching ratios of excited vibronic states while the calculated angular coupling matrix elements were transformed to Λ-doubling constants of the (1,2)1Π states and magnetic g-factor of the ground state. The accuracies of the present results are discussed by comparing with experimental data and preceding calculations.  相似文献

The pronounced cusp in K→3π decays which is generated by the pion mass difference is directly related to the ππS-wave scattering lengths. We apply a nonrelativistic effective field theory framework to evaluate the amplitudes for KL→3π decays in a systematic manner. Electromagnetic effects in the neutral channel KL→3π0 are also discussed.  相似文献

By analyzing the soft x-ray energy spectrum measured by the soft x-ray pulse height analysis (PHA) system, the electron temperature (Te) and the effective charge number (Zeff) of the ultra-long pulse discharge driven by lower hybrid wave (LHW) were obtained in the HT-7 tokamak. Moreover, the information of medium-Z impurities such as Ti, Cr, Fe, and Ni intrinsic to HT-7 tokamak can also be inspected. The accuracy of the electron temperature derived from the soft x-ray energy spectrum measurements is verified by comparing with the temperature measured by the Thomson scattering system for various plasmas and electron cyclotron emission diagnostic system for ohmic plasmas. The bulk electron temperature of about 1 keV and Zeff≈2 were achieved for long pulse plasma. The appreciable Kα lines of Ti, Cr, Fe and Ni metallic impurities released from the antennas of radio frequency wave and/or the first wall and Ar injected into plasma can be observed, and they kept stable during the long duration discharges. As a result, the longest pulse discharge with relatively high temperature of Te(0)∼1 keV, and ne(0)∼0.5×1019 m−3 has been achieved with a duration of 400 s in the HT-7 experimental campaign in 2008.  相似文献

We explore the pattern of frequency-dependent linear and non-linear optical (NLO) response of one electron quantum dots harmonically confined in two dimensions. For some fixed values of transverse magnetic field strength (ωc), and harmonic confinement potential (ω0), the influence of effective mass (m*) of the system and the symmetry breaking anharmonic interaction on the frequency-dependent linear (α), and the first (β), and second (γ) NLO responses of the dot is computed through linear variational route. The investigation reveals interesting roles played by the anharmonic interaction and effective mass in modulating the response properties.  相似文献

A proximity effect in an s-wave superconductor/ferromagnet (SC/F) junction is theoretically studied using the second order perturbation theory for the tunneling Hamiltonian and Green's function method. We calculate a pair amplitude induced by the proximity effect in a weak ferromagnetic metal (FM) and a half-metal (HM). In the SC/FM junction, it is found that a spin-singlet pair amplitude (Ψs) and spin-triplet pair amplitude (Ψt) are induced in FM and both amplitudes depend on the frequency in the Matsubara representation. Ψs is an even function and Ψt is an odd function with respect to the Matsubara frequency (ωn). In the SC/HM junction, we examine the proximity effects by taking account of magnon excitations in HM. It is found that the triplet-pair correlation is induced in HM. The induced pair amplitude in HM shows a damped oscillation as a function of the position and contains the terms of even and odd functions of ωn as in the case of the SC/FM junction. We discuss that in our tunneling model the pair amplitude of even function of ωn only contributes to a Josephson current.  相似文献

We use a variational approach with strictly strong-correlated constraint to gain insight into low-energy states of t-t-t-J model in the electron-doped regime. Compared with the recent results on the electron-doped cuprates obtained by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), we show that based on the long-range ordered antiferromagnetic metallic state prohibiting vacant sites, our results lead to qualitatively similar trends in ARPES spectra and Fermi surface topology. Additionally, the results about the evolution of the energy gap and spectral weight as a function of doping will be discussed.  相似文献

Neutron scattering results on single crystals shed light on the static and dynamic properties of the superconductor () PuCoGa5 and its isostructural but antiferromagnetic () homologue NpCoGa5. By polarized neutron diffraction the magnetization density in the paramagnetic state of both compounds has been inferred. The microscopic magnetization of NpCoGa5 is consistent with the orbital and spin components of a localized Np3+ magnetic moment. In the case of PuCoGa5 the microscopic magnetization is small, temperature-independent and cannot be described as a localized Pu3+ magnetic moment. For NpCoGa5 a dynamic magnetic signal has been observed by three-axis spectroscopy in the antiferromagnetically ordered state. The magnetic signal is strongest at the antiferromagnetic zone center and an energy transfer of about 5 meV. Magnetic fluctuations persist at this position in the paramagnetic state. The dynamic response is similar to the dynamic response observed in other actinide intermetallic compounds. This supports the possibility that magnetic fluctuations could also be present in the paramagnetic superconductor PuCoGa5.  相似文献

We have investigated the differential conductance spectra of the point contacts between the heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn5 and Pt. Many of them show a double-maximum structure that indicates the superconducting energy gap Δ. The Δ values derived using Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk model, however, varies from 0.47 to 0.77 meV, and yet they are within the scatter of the reported values. The evolution of Δ below Tc is slow as compared with that of BCS gap probably reflecting the unconventional superconductivity in CeCoIn5.  相似文献

The effects of hyperthermal proton bombardment on alkanethiol self-assembled monolayer (SAM) on Au(1 1 1) are studied with scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS). The STM and XPS results show that proton bombardment with proton energy as low as 2 eV can induce cross-linking of the adsorbed alkanethiols and transform the original ordered SAM lattice to an array of nanoclusters of the cross-linked alkanethiols. For a bombardment at 3 eV with a fluence of 3×1015 cm−2, the typical cluster size is about 5 nm. In addition, the cluster size distribution is narrow, with no cluster larger than 8 nm. The cluster growth can be promoted by increasing the fluence at a fixed bombardment energy or increasing the energy at a fixed fluence. This indicates that surface diffusion of alkanethiols and cluster growth can be harnessed by the control of the bombardment energy and fluence.  相似文献

We examine the distribution of spectral weights (SWs) of the 2-dimensional t-t-t-J model describing cuprate superconductors in terms of the Gutzwiller projected Fermi liquid, as the possible normal state, and d-wave (superconducting) resonating valence bond state. Treat exactly strong correlation between electrons by numerical approach, we calculate SWs for removing an electron which can be compared with the observation made by the future angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy experiment.  相似文献

We present direct measurements of the lifetime of the 4F5/2 and 2H(2)9/2 manifold in Nd3+:YLiF4, using a fluorescence pump-probe technique. The technique populates the 4F5/2 and 2H(2)9/2 manifold directly with a pump pulse. Via excited state absorption from this excited manifold, the 2F(2)5/2 manifold of Nd3+ is populated with a delayed probe pulse. The population in the 4F5/2 and 2H(2)9/2 manifold is monitored as a function of time by observing the change in integrated UV fluorescence from the 2F(2)5/2 manifold for each time delay between pump and probe pulses. The pump and probe beams come from the fundamental and second harmonic wavelengths of a femtosecond Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier. The measured lifetime agrees well with the energy gap law, based on other nonradiative lifetime measurements from the literature for Nd3+:YLiF4.  相似文献
