Two-loop radiative mechanism, when combined with an U(1)L symmetry generated by LeLμLτ (=L′), is shown to provide an estimate of Δm2m2atm εme/mτ, where ε measures the U(1)L-breaking. Since Δm2atm 3.5×10−3 eV2, we find that Δm2 ε10−6 eV2, which will fall into the allowed region of the LOW solution to the solar neutrino problem for ε 0.1.  相似文献

The first part of this paper is an attempt to formulate and motivate additional work on the important problem of obtaining global bounds applicable to the controlled truncation of the paper relates specifically to the linear birth, quadratic death model. Asymptotic results are given for the first finite difference ΔTm where Tm is the exactly known mean time to extinction starting from state m (m= 0,1,…). These results are in terms of the environmental carrying capacity n* taken to be large. For m near zero ΔTmen*/(n*)2; whereas, for m near n*ΔTm ≈ (π/2)1/2/(n*)3/2. This indicates the vastly different time scales in those two regions of state space - with considerably slower action near extinction than near n*.  相似文献

Intensities have been measured for individual transitions in the Q and R branches of the ν1 band of NH3 using a difference-frequency laser spectrometer. The data yield an integrated band strength of S0v=219.36±1.03 cm-2/MPa at 297 K, corresponding to a transition moment of μv = 8.535(20) × 10-32 C·m, and a Herman-Wallis correction factor, (1 + jm)2, where j = 0.0209(20). The intensities of a few lines for K 7 were noticeably perturbed by a perpendicular Coriolis interaction with 2ν4 (E, L = 2), so were excluded from the fit. A small sample of ν3 band lines occurring in the ν1 band scans also yields a rough estimate of the ν3 band intensity with evident irregular perturbations.  相似文献

It is known that the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is a geodesic flow of an L2 metric on the Bott–Virasoro group. This can also be interpreted as a flow on the space of projective connections on S1. The space of differential operators Δ(n)=∂n+u2n−2++un form the space of extended or generalized projective connections. If a projective connection is factorizable Δ(n)=(∂−((n+1)/2−1)p1)(∂+(n−1)/2pn) with respect to quasi primary fields pi’s, then these fields satisfy ∑i=1n((n+1)/2−i)pi=0. In this paper we discuss the factorization of projective connection in terms of affine connections. It is shown that the Burgers equation and derivative non-linear Schrödinger (DNLS) equation or the Kaup–Newell equation is the Euler–Arnold flow on the space of affine connections.  相似文献

The reaction γp → π°γ′p has been measured with the TAPS BaF2 calorimeter at the Mainz Microtron accelerator facility MAMI for energies between √2 = 1221–1331 MeV. Cross sections differential in angle and energy have been determined for the photon γ′ in three bins of the excitation energy. This reaction channel provides access to the magnetic dipole moment of the Δ+(1232) resonance and, for the first time, a value of μΔ+ = (2.7+1.0−1.3(stat) ± 1.5(syst) ± (theor)) πN has been extracted.  相似文献

We argue that it is the hopping transport that is responsible for broadening of the σxx peaks. Explicit expressions for the width Δν of a peak as a function of the temperature T, current J and frequency ω are found. It is shown that Δν grows with T as (T/T1)κ, where κ is the inverse localization-length exponent. The current J is shown to act like the effective temperature Teff(J) ∝ J1/2 if . Broadening of the ohmic ac-conductivity peaks with frequency ω is found to be determined by the effective temperature   相似文献

A computer simulation model is used to study the density profile and flow of a miscible gaseous fluid mixture consisting of differing constituent masses (mA=mB/3) through an open matrix. The density profile is found to decay with the height ∝exp (−mA(B)h), consistent with the barometric height law. The flux density shows a power-law increase ∝(pcp)μ with μ2.3 at the porosity 1−p above the pore percolation threshold 1−pc.  相似文献

Recent measurements from the HERMES and SMC Collaborations show a remarkably large azimuthal single-spin asymmetries AUL and AUT of the proton in semi-inclusive pion leptoproduction γ*(q)p→πX. We show that final-state interactions from gluon exchange between the outgoing quark and the target spectator system lead to single-spin asymmetries in deep inelastic lepton–proton scattering at leading twist in perturbative QCD; i.e., the rescattering corrections are not power-law suppressed at large photon virtuality Q2 at fixed xbj. The existence of such single-spin asymmetries requires a phase difference between two amplitudes coupling the proton target with Jzp=±1/2 to the same final-state, the same amplitudes which are necessary to produce a nonzero proton anomalous magnetic moment. We show that the exchange of gauge particles between the outgoing quark and the proton spectators produces a Coulomb-like complex phase which depends on the angular momentum Lz of the proton's constituents and is thus distinct for different proton spin amplitudes. The single-spin asymmetry which arises from such final-state interactions does not factorize into a product of distribution function and fragmentation function, and it is not related to the transversity distribution δq(x,Q) which correlates transversely polarized quarks with the spin of the transversely polarized target nucleon.  相似文献

The FAC, PMS, and BLM optimization methods are applied to the QED corrections to the muon lifetime in the Fermi V-A theory. The FAC and PMS scales are close to me, while the BLM scale nearly coincides with the geometric average √memμ. The optimized expressions are employed to estimate the third order coefficient in the (mμ) expansion and the theoretical error of the perturbative series. Using arguments based on effective field theory and a simple examination of Feynman diagrams, it is shown that, if contributions of (mμ2/MW2) are neglected, the corrections to muon decay in the SM factorize into the QED correction of the Fermi V-A theory and the electroweak amplitude g2/(1 − Δr), both of which are strictly scale-independent. We use the results to clarify how the QED corrections to muon decay and the Fermi constant GF should be used in the SM, and what is the natural choice of scales if running couplings are employed.  相似文献

The classical Hamiltonian H = p2/2m + ε(q2/2)Σδ[s-(t/T)] has an integrable mapping of the plane, [qn+1, pn+1]= [qn+1+pn, qn+2pn], as its equations of motion. But then by introducing periodic boundary conditions via (mod 1) applied to both q and p variables, the equations of motion become the Arnol'd cat map, [qn+1, pn+1] = [qn + pn, qn + 2pn], (mod 1), revealing it to be one of the simplest fully chaotic systems which can be derived from a Hamiltonian and analyzed. Consequently, we here quantize the Arnol'd cat and examine its quantum motion for signs of chaos using algorithmic complexity as the litmus. Our analysis reveals that the quantum cat is not chaotic in the deep quantum domain nor does it become chaotic in the classical limit as required by the correspondence principle. We therefore conclude that the correspondence principle, as defined herein, fails for the quantum Arnol'd cat.  相似文献

Limits for the neutrino decay νH→νL+γ, where νH and νL are assumed to be massive neutrinos withmVH>mVL, are presented using data from the Solar Maximum Mission satellite taken in coincidence with the detected neutrino burst from SN 1987A. These limits are essentially independent of supernova models and are and τ/mνμ,τ>3.3×1014 s/eV for a thermal spectrum at a temperature .  相似文献

We investigate the charged Higgs boson signal at the LHC using its dominant production and decay modes with triple b-tagging, i.e. , followed by leptonic decay of one W and hadronic decay of the other. We consider the continuum background from the associated production of with a b- or a light quark or gluon jet, which can be mis-tagged as b-jet. We reconstruct the top quark masses to identify the 3rd b-jet accompanying the pair, and use its pT distribution to distinguish the signal from the background. Combining this with the reconstruction of the H± mass gives a viable signature over two interesting regions of the parameter space – i.e. tanβ1 and mt/mb.  相似文献

We have studied the collective flow at high and intermediate energy in a relativistic Vlasov-Uehling-Uhlenbeck (RVUU) approach based on Walecka's QHD-I model, with the aim to probe the nuclear-matter equation of state (EOS) and the in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross section σ. At high energy (1.2 GeV/u), the out-of-plane azimuthal correlation function C(Ψ) is only sensitive to the effective mass m* and insensitive to the nuclear compressibility K and the effective nucleon-nucleon cross section σ within a reasonable range. We have found that the preferred value of m* is about 0.85 m. With this value of m*, from the in-plane mean transverse momentum Px(Y) which is sensitive to both m* and σ we have drawn an effective nn cross section σ, namely σ 0.8σf where σf is the free nucleon-nucleon cross section in Cugnon's parametrization. Taking advantage of the fact that the energy of vanishing flow (EVF) at intermediate energy (around 100 MeV/u) is only sensitive to the nucleon-nucleon cross section σ, we have drawn some information on the nucleon-nucleon cross section σ, namely σ = (1.4±0.2)σf.  相似文献

The relative fractions of vector, V, and pseudoscalar, P, primary mesons produced in and decays, and primary light-flavour mesons produced in fragmentation processes are explained by the hyperfine mass splitting. The difference in corresponding fractions arises from the difference in the constituent quark masses , ms, mc and mb:
The production ratios for strange, charm and beauty mesons evaluated from the ρ/(3π) ratio, measured at LEP for primary produced ρ and π, agree with the results of LEP and lower energy e+e experiments.  相似文献

Narrow structures in the range of a few MeV have been searched for in ppπ+ and ppπ invariant mass spectra (Mppπ+ and Mppπ) obtained from exclusive measurements of the ppppπ+π reaction at Tp=725,750 and 775 MeV using the PROMICE/WASA detector at CELSIUS. The selected reaction is particularly well suited for the search for dibaryon resonances decoupled from NN and/or NΔ. In the mass range 2020 MeV/c2<mdibaryon<2085 MeV/c2 no narrow structures could be identified on the 3σ level of statistical significance neither in Mppπ nor in Mppπ+ giving an upper limit (95% C.L.) for dibaryon production in this reaction of σ<20 nb.  相似文献

A method of searching for 3ν solutions of the solar neutrino problem in terms of 2ν solutions is proposed. It gives “iso-SNU strips” on the plot of Δm2 versus sin22θ. A combined analusis of Cl---Ar experiment data and results of the 8B neutrino flux measurement by νe scattering (Kamiokande II) is presented.  相似文献

We present a model where an unstable MeV Majorana tau neutrino can naturally reconcile the cold dark matter model (CDM) with cosmological observations of large and small scale density fluctuations and, simultaneously, with data on solar and atmospheric neutrinos. The solar neutrino deficit is explained through long wavelength, so-called just-so oscillations involving conversions of νe into both νμ and a sterile species νs , while atmospheric neutrino data are explained through νμ to νe conversions. Future long baseline neutrino oscillation experiments, as well as some reactor experiments will test this hypothesis. The model is based on the spontaneous violation of a global lepton number symmetry at the weak scale. This symmetry plays a key role in generating the cosmologically required decay of the ντ with lifetime τντ ≈ 102-104 seconds, as well as the masses and oscillations of the three light neutrinos νe, νμ and νs required in order to account for solar and atmospheric neutrino data. It also leads to the invisibly decaying Higgs signature that can be searched at LEP and future particle colliders.  相似文献

We have used electron spin resonance measurements to derive the temperature and frequency dependences of the field-induced magnetization [M(T, f)] and anisotropy field [Han (T)] in a number of amorphous alloys belonging to the series (FepNi1−p)75P16B6Al3. In re-entrant (p > pc, the critical concentration for ferromagnetism) alloys at hi gh frequencies (f = 35 GHz, field ≈ 12 kOe) M reduces as T3/2 at high T and as T below ≈ 40 K, the deviation from T3/2 becoming more marked as pp+c. For p close to pc, lowering the frequency first causes the T term to increase and ultimately ( ≈ 4 GHz) changes the variation of M with T to that discovered previously for concentrated spin glasses, namely M is constant at low T and drops linearly at high temperatures. For the re-entrants, the results are interpreted on the basis of a model which invokes an energy gap in the spin-wave spectrum, introduces a non-zero density of states of the gap energy and takes into consideration a low-q cut-off in the spin-wave integral in thelow-T (T) regime. In the concentrated spin glasses [M (0) - M (T)]/ M (0) is well represented by the function [exp (Δ / T) - 1]-1, where Δ has values close to the corresponding Curie-Weiss temperatures θp but much larger than the respective spin glass transition temperatures TSG. The temperature dependence of Han is largely given by the function (1 - T/T*), where T* is equal to the zero-field freezing temperature for the re-entrants and TSG for the spin glasses, respectively.  相似文献

Let (P) be the moduli space of irreducible connections of a G-principal bundle P over a closed Riemannian spin manifold M. Let DA be the Dirac operator of M coupled to a connection A of P and f a smooth function on M. We consider a smooth variation A(u) of A with tangent vector ω and denote Tω:= (DA(u)f) (u=0. The coefficients of the asymptotic expansion of trace (Tω · e-t(DAf)2) near t=0 define 1-forms a(k)f, K=0, 1, 2, … on (P). In this paper we calculate aa(0)f, a(1)f, a(2)f and study some of their properties. For instance using the 1-form a(2)f for suitable functions f we obtain a foliation of codimension 5 of the space of G-instantons of S4.  相似文献

We introduce a new parameterization of four-fermion operator matrix elements which does not involve quark masses and thus allows a reduction of systematic uncertainties. In order to simplify the matching between lattice and continuum renormalization schemes, we express our results in terms of renormalization group invariant B-parameters which are renormalization-scheme and scale independent. As an application of our proposal, matrix elements of ΔI=3/2 and SUSY ΔS=2 operators have been computed. The calculations have been performed using the tree-level improved Clover lattice action at two different values of the strong coupling constant (β=6/g2=6.0 and 6.2), in the quenched approximation. Renormalization constants and mixing coefficients of lattice operators have been obtained non-perturbatively. Using lowest order χPT, we also obtain ππ|O7|KNDRI=2=(0.11±0.02) GeV4 and ππ|O8|KNDRI=2=(0.51±0.05) GeV4 at μ=2 GeV.  相似文献
