The effect of the crystal structure upon the luminescence of the divalent europium within the RbLu3F10 dimorphous matrix has been investigated. The obtained results essentially show that the difference between the rubidium coordination numbers in both α- and β-RbLu3F10 phases (15 or 16 and 8 or 10 respectively) is responsible for the change over from a 4f7 → 4f7 emission to a 4f65d1 → 4f7 emission.  相似文献

Au electrodes are alkylated by self-assembled organic monolayers of octadecanethiol from alcohol solution. The electron tunnelling resistance of a monolayer-coated gold electrode has been investigated by ac impedance. The relation between the fractional coverage of different defects and the corresponding film thickness at these ‘collapsed’ sites has been deduced from electron tunnelling theory. By using the concepts of average film thickness at defect (da) and average fractional coverage of defect (θa), we have obtained the θada plot. The influence of the apparent standard rate constant on the shape of the θada plot has been discussed. In our experiments, Fe(CN)63−/4− is used as a redox probe to study the θada plot of an octadecanethiol monolayer. The θa versus da plot indicates that the defects with da<6 methylene groups and θa<0.1 can increase the apparent standard rate constant from 1.9×10−10 cm s−1, which is the theoretical value calculated from electron tunnelling theory, to 2.9×10−7 cm s−1. The average thickness of the whole monolayer (ATWM), which is obtained from the θa versus da plot and which can indicate the blocking property of the monolayer, is 11 methylene groups.  相似文献

The correlation of dibutyl-ether-ester of xanthene dye structures with their photophysical properties is discussed with respect to their capability as fluorescent probes based on ultraviolet–visible absorption, fluorescence spectra and fluorescence lifetimes measured in different solvents. It was found that the dibutyl-ether-ester of fluorescein is very weakly emissive in aprotic solvents, but fairly strong fluorescent in alcohols. The dependence of fluorescence quantum yield (Φf) and lifetime (τf) on solvent polarity suggests non-involvement of the intra-molecular photoinduced electron transfer (PeT) mechanism, suggested previously to account for the emission efficiency of fluorescein derivatives. The xanthene dyes intend to self-assemble in aprotic solvents, less polar solvents facilitate the aggregation while hydrogen bonding disfavor it. The formation of non-emissive H-aggregates is proposed to be responsible for their fluorescent behavior. The esterification showed stronger influences on the photophysics than the etherification, i.e. the former caused larger reduction of Φf owing to the internal conversion. The halogenation decreases the fluorescence quantum yield and lifetime of the xanthene dyes, owing to the enhancement of inter-system crossing process.  相似文献

Mg0.95Ni0.05TiO3 ceramics were prepared by traditional solid-state route using sintering temperatures between 1300 and 1425 °C and holding time of 2–8 h. The sintered samples were characterized for their phase composition, micro-crystalline structure, unit–cell constant, and dielectric properties. A two-phase combination region was identified over the entire compositional range. The effect of sintering conditions was analyzed for various properties. Both permittivity (εr) and Q factor (Qf) were sensitive to sintering temperatures and holding times, and the optimum performance was found at 1350 °C withholding time of 4 h. The temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) in a range from −45.2 to −52 (ppm/°C) and unit–cell constant were not sensitive to both the sintering temperature and holding time. An optimized Q factor of 192,000 (GHz) related with a permittivity (εr) of 17.35 and a temperature coefficient (τf) of −47 (ppm/°C) was realized for the specimen sintered at 1350 °C withholding time of 4 h. For applications of 5G communication device (filter, antennas, etc.), Mg0.95Ni0.05TiO3 is considered to be a suitable candidate for substrate materials.  相似文献

Spectrophotometric quantitative determination of amines and sulfa drugs via interaction with p-benzoquinone was extended to determination of amino acids, whereby the colored products obtained display maximum absorption at λ = 490–500 nm, E1 cm1% in the range 160–480, and a concentration range of 1.5–34.0 μg/ml. The effects of time, concentration, temperature, and cooling on the nature of the reaction product were investigated. The reaction proved to be irreversible. A monosubstituent compound is more easily formed in the presence of excess p-benzoquinone. A linear relation between the formation constant (Kf) and pKα for the tested amino acids has been observed. Determination of adrenaline by this method is considered to offer an indirect means of determination of tyrosine.  相似文献

The primary purpose of this paper is a clarification of the question how sensitive five approaches to the determination of solid surface tensions are to the form of the equation of state for interfacial tensions, which is used in the interpretation of the experimental results. The five approaches are (1) adhesion, (2) phagocytosis, (3) sedimentation volumes, (4) solidification front, and (5) contact angles. Three equation-of-state-type relations, i.e., that due to Neumann et al., the unmodified Good equation, and Antonow's rule, are considered. The first three techniques depend on thermodynamic models in a way that requires of the equation of state only symmetry, γ12 = f1v, γ2v) = f2v, γ1v), and zero as the minimum interfacial tension, γ12 = f1v, γ2v) = 0 when γ1v = γ2v. All three equations (and many similar ones, which one might consider) satisfy these requirements and hence produce identical results. In other words, the validity of these three techniques and the results which they produce are not sensitive to details of the equation of state used. The last two techniques, the solidification front technique and the contact angle method, present more stringent requirements for the equation-of-state relation used. The solidification front technique eliminates Antonow's rule from further consideration because of this equation's intrinsic inability to predict particle rejection by advancing solidification fronts, a frequent experimental observation. This technique also eliminates those equation-of-state relations which violate the minimum interfacial tension condition. Finally, the contact angle technique is the most discriminating tool with which to study the merit of equation-of-state relations. Of the relations considered here, only that due to Neumann et al. yields, in conjunction with contact angle data, values for the solid surface tension which are in agreement with those obtained from the other techniques.  相似文献

An extensive study was performed and reported for evaluation and optimization of the factors affecting thin film formation of nano-sized Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex by surface layer-by-layer chemical deposition method. The formation of uniform thin films of nano-crystalline metal complex is heavily dependent on several important factors. Variation in metal and ligand concentrations (1:1–1:3) was found to show insignificant contribution to the molar stoichiometric ratio of the synthesized thin film of nano-sized Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate. The number of dipping cycles (2–50) was characterized by strong influence on the thin film thickness. The dependence of the immersion time (2–50 s) was proved to influence the crystal growth and homogeneity of the thin film. The role of pH of metal and ligand solutions was identified by strong contribution in development and formation of deposited Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex thin film. Finally, the role of solvent on the thin film formation was also studied and evaluated. Metal analysis, SEM, EI-MS, FT-IR and TGA were applied as monitoring techniques of these factors. The optical properties of Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex were also studied and the complex thin films were characterized by the highest optical transition from ππ* or n, π* states with energy gap in the UV-range at 3.13 eV. The lowest optical transition resulted from d–d transition or metal centered transition with energy 1.5 eV while, the optical transition at 2.35 eV is the contribution of metal ligand or ligand metal transition. In the light of the optical measurement, Co(II)-8-hydroxyquinolate complex can be considered as an organic semiconductor with the potential applications in the design of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEMs).  相似文献

The conductivity, κ, in a suspension of polystyrene sulfonic latex without supporting electrolyte showed a linear dependence on the volume fraction, vf, of the latex for vf<0.03 with a finite intercept. In contrast, this deviated upward from the linear line for vf>0.03. These variations were qualitatively consistent with the dependence of the voltammetric reduction current of H+ on vf without supporting electrolyte. The current values were only a few percent of the theoretical diffusion-controlled current that could be observed in the suspension with supporting electrolyte. This fact indicates the electrostatic immobilization of the hydrogen ions by sulfonic latex particles. A plot of the current against κ at common values of vf showed that the current for vf>0.07 was smaller than the value predicted from the conductivity. This can be explained in terms of a combination of the increase in electrostatically unbounded H+ estimated by conductance measurements and electric migration in which the electrochemical depletion of [H+] also causes the depletion of the latex.  相似文献

The growth and reduction of compact (α-) and overlying hydrous (β-) oxide films on polycrystalline Au electrodes in aqueous 0.1 M H2SO4 solutions have been investigated using potentiostatic, cyclic voltammetry, ellipsometric and quartz crystal microbalance (QCMB) techniques. All α-oxide films, formed with time at constant potentials up to 2.6 V, or by multicycling of the potential, are non-hydrated in nature, even when covered by a thick β-oxide film. The α-oxide film composition is suggested to be AuO below 1.5 V, and a mixture of AuO+Au2O3 at potentials above this, becoming predominantly Au2O3 at very high potentials. Up to three monolayers of Au2O3 can be formed. When formed at constant potential, the β-oxide film becomes increasingly hydrated as it thickens with time of growth, with a mass to charge ratio and refractive index consistent with Au2O3·H2O and later with Au2O3·2H2O. In contrast, the β-oxide film formed by multicycling has a higher mass overall, and becomes less hydrated as it thickens with time, with a mass and refractive index consistent with Au2O3·10H2O at short times, ranging to Au2O3·2H2O as the film thickens.  相似文献

The dielectric properties of mixed monolayers of per-(6-amino-2,3-di-O-hexyl) β-CD hydrochloride (NH3-β-CD-OC6) and 1,2 dipalmitoyl, 3-sn-phosphatidic acid (DPPA) have been assessed using surface potential measurements at constant area. From the comparison of these surface potential (ΔV) versus surface density (δ) relationships with those of surface pressure (π) against surface density (δ) it was apparent that the increase in the NH3-β-CD-OC6 content in mixed films gave rise to a gradual increase in the saturation value of the surface potential (ΔVmax). This potential for pure DPPA was found to be equal to 396 mV and for pure CD 554 mV. The ΔVmaxvalues reflect the onset of reorientation effects that arrive at molar areas before the collapse of these films. Independently of reorientation effects, the obtained results strongly indicate that the dipolar term contributing to the overall ΔVvalue was for NH3-β-CD-OC6 due to the hydration of its NH+3group. For both DPPA and NH3-β-CD-OC6 molecules the contribution of the electric double layer (Ψ) was calculated and was found for DPPA and NH3-β-CD-OC6 to be equal to −249 and +252 mV, respectively. These calculated Ψ values made possible the evaluation of dipole moments for NH3-β-CD-OC6 and DPPA monolayers which revealed a marked difference in dipolar properties between these two film forming components. In contrast to DPPA which exhibited a decrease in the surface dipole moment (μ) with the decrease inA, NH3-β-CD-OC6 displayed an increase in μwith the decrease inAforAvalues above 580 Å2. Below this value μdecreases with decreasing molecular area and this variation arises from a change in the polarity of the electric double layer arising from interactions with the complementary anion. The differences in dielectric properties between the two film forming molecules have been attributed to modification, during compression, in the structure of the interfacial water bound to the cyclodextrin.  相似文献

The reaction of [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 with 1,3-dialkylimidazolinium salts 1af in the presence of a small excess of cesium carbonate yields chelated η6-arene, η1-carbene ruthenium complexes 2af. All synthesised compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, NMR spectroscopy. The second order hyperpolarizability of cis azobenzene isomer (γc) was obtained by measuring the third harmonic generation (THG) variation of an azobenzene doped polymer film when the film was optically pumped to create a large amount of cis isomers via photoisomerization. A steady state theory was developed to treat the THG intensity variation by considering the optical pump induced redistribution and reorientation of azobenzene in the polymer film and the contribution of cis isomer to the THG signal. The ratio of γ of cis and trans molecule, (γc/γt), was found to be 0.51. After the γt was obtained from the time-resolved optical Kerr effect (OKE) measurement, γc was deduced to be 5.6 × 10−33 esu. The result shows that the optical nonlinearity of cis isomer is clearly not negligible.  相似文献

The role of the oscillator strength, f, in the theory of atomic absorption is investigated. For a pure natural broadened absorption line, the peak absorption coefficient αo is independent of the oscillator strength. The peak absorption coefficient becomes dependent on f only through additional broadening processes such as Doppler or collisional broadening. The peak cross section for resonance absorption, α0/N1, for a closed transition with equal statistical weights is given by σ0 = 2πXXX2 = ( )/[cn0)] (where XXX = and n0) is the spectral mode density of the radiation field at the resonance frequency ω0) and physically represents the cross-sectional area per allowed mode of the radiation field per unit time per unit frequency interval, multiplied by a lineshape factor 2/π.A summary is presented of some recent determinations of oscillator strengths of atomic absorption lines, based on lifetime measurements made in this laboratory. The results are used to revise values of the theoretical characteristic mass for Ag, Al, Au, Ca, Cu, Mo, Na, Ti and V used in absolute analysis by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy.  相似文献

Summary The kinetics of formation of square-planar CuII and NiII complexes of the quadridentate ligand, ethylenebisbiguanide, have been studied spectrophotometrically in aqueous HOAc–NaOAc buffer, at ionic strength 0.2 mol dm–3, in the 25–35°C temperature range. The observed rate constants for the formation reactions are independent of pH (and of OAc concentration) in the pH range used (3.6–4.8 for CuII and 5.0–5.8 for NiII) where the product complexes form stoichiometrically, but show first-order dependence on the ligand concentration;i.e. kobs=kf[L]total. At 25°C kf values (dm3 mol–1s–1) are 35.2±0.4 for CuII and (8.4±0.1)×10–3 for NiII. The mechanism of the reactions is discussed.  相似文献

Mesoporous YSZ–γ-Al2O3 membranes were coated on α-Al2O3 (Ø2 mm) tube by dipping the α-Al2O3 support tube into mixed sol consists of nano-size YSZ and bohemite particles followed by drying and calcination at 600 °C. Addition of bohemite in YSZ sol helped a good adhesion and uniform coating of the membrane film onto α-Al2O3 support. The quality of the mesoporous YSZ–γ-Al2O3 membranes was evaluated by the gas permeability experiments. The number of defects was minimized when the γ-Al2O3 content became more than 40%. Addition of γ-Al2O3 inhibited the crystal growth of YSZ, sintering shrinkage and distortion stress. Increase of calcination temperature and time results in the increase of pore size and N2 permeance. A hydrogen perm-selective membrane was prepared by filling palladium into the nano-pores of YSZ–γ-Al2O3 layer by vacuum-assisted electroless plating. Crystal growth of palladium was observed by thermal annealing of the membrane at 600 °C for 40 h. The Pd–YSZ–γ-Al2O3 composite membrane revealed improved thermal stability allowing long-term operation at elevated temperature (>500 °C). This has been attributed to the improved fracture toughness of YSZ–γ-Al2O3 layer and matching of thermal expansion coefficient between palladium and YSZ. Although fracture of the membrane did not occur, decline of H2 flux was observed when the membrane was exposed in 600 °C. This has been attributed to the agglomeration of palladium particles by crystal growth and dense packing into the pore networks of YSZ–γ-Al2O3 by elevation of temperature.  相似文献

Two families of arene ruthenium oxinato complexes of the types [(η6-arene)Ru(η2-N,O-L)Cl] and [(η6-arene)Ru(η2-N,O-L)(OH2)]+ have been synthesized from the dinuclear precursors [(η6-arene)RuCl2]2 (arene = para-cymeme or hexamethylbenzene) and the corresponding oxine LH (LH = 8-hydroxyquinoline, 5-chloro-8-hydroxyquinoline, 5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline, 5-nitro-8-hydroxyquinoline, 5,7-dimethyl-8-hydroxyquinoline, 5,7-dichloro-2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline). The molecular structures of the neutral chloro complexes [(η6-C6Me6)Ru(η2-N,O-L)Cl] (LH = 8-hydroxyquinoline, 5,7-dichloro-2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline) and [(η6-MeC6H4Pri)Ru(η2-N,O-L)Cl] (LH = 5,7-dichloro-2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline) as well as those of the cationic aqua derivatives [(η6-MeC6H4Pri)Ru(η2-N,O-L)(OH2)]+ (LH = 8-hydroxyquinoline, 5,7-dimethyl-8-hydroxyquinoline), isolated as the tetrafluoroborate salts, show in all cases a piano-stool arrangement with the arene ligand, the chelating oxinato ligand and the chloro or the aqua ligand surrounding the ruthenium center in a pseudo-tetrahedral fashion. The analogous reaction of [(η6-MeC6H4Pri)RuCl2]2 with other N,O-chelating ligands such as 2-pyridinemethanol or tetrahydrofurfurylamine did not give the expected analogs but resulted in the formation of the complexes [(η6-MeC6H4Pri)Ru(η2-NC5H4CH2OH)Cl]+ and [(η6-MeC6H4Pri)Ru(η1-NHCH2C4H3O)Cl2]. The neutral and cationic complexes of the types [(η6-arene)Ru(η2-N,O-L)Cl] and [(η6-arene)Ru(η2-N,O-L)(OH2)]+ have been found to catalyze the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to give formate in alkaline aqueous solution with catalytic turnovers up to 400.  相似文献

The solid state reaction of NaAlO2 with γ-Al2O3 was investigated kinetically. Powdered compacts with various compositions (Al2O3/NaAlO2 = 1–5) were fired at 700–1200°C for 1–768 hr. The amounts of the reaction product were determined by peak heights of X-ray diffraction patterns. β″-Al2O3 was formed predominantly from the sample with Al2O3/NaAlO2 = 2. The firing time for the β″-Al2O3 formation was shortened as the firing temperature was raised, and the activation energy, Ea, for formation was about 130–135 kcal/mole. The sample of Al2O3/NaAlO2 = 5 formed m-Al2O3 with the mullite structure and was observed to transform gradually to β-Al2O3. Ea for the m-Al2O3 formation and for the transition were about 55–60 and 40 kcal/mole, respectively, which resulted in Ea of about 95–100 kcal/mole for the β-Al2O3 formation. The mechanism of the m-Al2O3 formation is discussed briefly.  相似文献

We describe chemical bond changes as Franck–Condon electronic processes within a new theoretical ansatz that we call ‘rigged’ Born–Oppenheimer (R-BO) approach. The notion of the separability of nuclear and electron states implied in the standard Born–Oppenheimer (BO) scheme is retained. However, in the present scheme the electronic wave functions do not depend upon the nuclear coordinate (R-space). The new functions are obtained from an auxiliary Hamiltonian corresponding to the electronic system (r-coordinates) submitted to a Coulomb potential generated by external sources of charges in real space (α-coordinates) instead of massive nuclear objects. A stationary arrangement characterized by the coordinates α0A, is determined by a particular electronic wave function, ψ(r0A); it is only at this stationary point, where an electronic Schrödinger equation: He(r0A)|Ψ(r0A)=E0A)|Ψ(r0A) must hold. This equation permits us to use modern electronic methods based upon analytic first and second derivatives to construct model electronic wave functions and stationary geometry for external sources. If the set of wave functions {Ψ(r0A)} is made orthogonal, the energy functional in α-space, E(α;α0A)=Ψ(r0A)|He(r0A)|Ψ(r0A) is isomorphic to a potential energy function in R-space: E(R0A)=Ψ(r0A)|He(r,R)|Ψ(r0A). This functional defines, by hypothesis, a trapping convex potential in R-space and the nuclear quantum states are determined by a particular Schrödinger equation. The total wave function for the chemical species A reads as a product of our electronic wave function with the nuclear wave function (Ξik(R0A)): Φik(r,R)=Ψi(r0Aik(R0A). This approach facilitates the introduction of molecular frame without restrictions in the R-space. Two molecules (characterized with different electronic spectra) that are decomposable into the same number of particles (isomers) have the same Coulomb Hamiltonian and they are then characterized by different electronic wave functions for which no R-coordinate ‘deformation’ can possibly change its electronic structure. A bond breaking/forming process must be formally described as a spectroscopic-like electronic process. The theory provides an alternative to the adiabatic as well as the diabatic scheme for understanding molecular processes. As an illustration of the present ideas, the reaction of H2+CO leading to formaldehyde is examined in some detail.  相似文献

Summary The first nuclear research reactor in Nigeria has been commissioned for neutron activation analysis and limited radioisotope production. In order to extend its utilization to include the k0-standardization method, the following neutron spectrum parameters in inner and outer irradiation channels were determined by the “Cd-ratio for multi-monitor method”: the thermal-to-epithermal flux ratio, f, and the epithermal flux shape factor, α. Neutron spectrum parameters determined in the inner irradiation channel B2, are: α = -0.052±0.002 and f = 19.2±0.5. For the outer irradiation channel B4, the neutron spectrum parameters were found to be α = +0.029±0.003 and f = 48.3±3.3. The results are compared with the neutron spectrum parameters of other reactor facilities with similar core configuration such as the Slowpoke and Miniature Neutron Source Reactor facilities available in the literature.  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour of some Ni γ-monosubstituted dibenzotetraaza [14] annulene complexes has been investigated. The oxidation in CH2Cl2 of the complex containing a 4-carboxybenzyl group leads to the corresponding γ-γ dimer whose electrochemical properties have been studied. The electrode surface can be coated by thin films of this dimer using CH3CN instead of CH2Cl2; however, the resulting modified electrode is poorly stable. The oxidation of the complex containing 1-(4-carboxybenzyl)pyrrole as γ substituent involves γ-γ dimer formation before the formation of a regular polypyrrole film. The film displays reversible electrochemical reduction of the metal centre (Ni(II)/Ni(I)) and two successive oxidations of the macrocycle (Mc/Mc•+ and Mc•+/Mc2+). The complex containing a bromo(4-carboxybenzyl) group offers an unusual feature in that polymeric films can be obtained following an original procedure based on alternated dimerizations. This is a consequence of the formation of two different dimers obtained by anodic and cathodic processes.  相似文献
