Fine structures of the vibrational spectrum of OH in NaCl have been investigated by their dependence on the OH concentration, temperature and uniaxial stress. The absorption bands of A and C at 3651. 2 and 3655.2 cm-1 are ascribed to the tunneling motion of the off-center impurity of OH. The stress splitting factor of the tunneling levels has been estimated to be B(S11–S12)=0.96±0.10 cm-1/108 dyn cm-2 in the ground state and it is about 1.4 times larger in the vibrational excited state.  相似文献

The binding energy of the single and double bound polaron bound to a helium-type donor impurity in quantum wells (QWs) subject to a perpendicular electric field are calculated by a variational method. The couplings of an electron and the impurity with various phonon modes are considered. The results show that the cumulative effects of the electron–phonon coupling and the impurity–phonon coupling can contribute appreciably to the binding energy for the single bound polaron but only in some severe conditions for the double bound polaron. They also show that the binding energy is sensitive to the electric field strength. The comparison between the binding energies in the case of the impurity placed at the quantum well center and at the quantum well edge is also given.  相似文献

We have described the calculation of hydrogenic impurity binding energies in cylindrical GaAs–Ga1−xAlxAs quantum well wires (QWWs) with lateral parabolic confinement in the presence of an axial magnetic field. The numerical calculations of this system have been performed with the use of a variational procedure in the effective mass approximation. We observed sharp changes in binding energy for critical spatial confinement radius and BB magnetic field values.  相似文献

Large deuterium clusters are generated using a cryogenic pulse valve with a cone nozzle (21 mm long, 4° open angle). Rayleigh scattering experiment is carried out to obtain the scaling relation between scattering signal SR and backing pressure P0. A method using the Coulomb explosion model is proposed to verify that the clusters continue to grow after their leaving the nozzle. Our experiments suggest a tentatively optimized position for laser cluster interaction.  相似文献

Using a variational technique, the effect of electron-longitudinal optical (LO) phonon interaction on the ground and the first few excited states of a hydrogenic impurity in a semiconductor quantum wire of rectangular cross section under an external electric field is studied theoretically for the impurity atom doped at various positions. The results for the binding energy as well as polaronic correction are obtained as a function of the size of the wire, the applied uniform electric field and the position of the impurity. It is found that the presence of optical phonons changes significantly the values of the impurity binding energies of the system. Taking into account the electron–LO phonon interaction the 1s→2py and 1s→2pz transition energies are calculated as a function of applied electric field for different impurity positions.  相似文献

The electron distribution over residual energy after electron interaction with an rf field was determined using the method of decelerating electric field. It is demonstrated that, under the maximum efficiency conditions, electrons with an energy lower than 30% of their initial energy are absent in the spectrum. Hence, the efficiency of energy-recuperation gyrotrons can substantially be increased.  相似文献

 We have investigated the effects of the magnetic field which is directed perpendicular to the well on the binding energy of the hydrogenic impurities in an inverse parabolic quantum well (IPQW) with different widths as well as different Al concentrations at the well center. The Al concentration at the barriers was always xmax=0.3. The calculations were performed within the effective mass approximation, using a variational method. We observe that IPQW structure turns into parabolic quantum well with the inversion effect of the magnetic field and donor impurity binding energy in IPQW strongly depends on the magnetic field, Al concentration at the well center and well dimensions.  相似文献

A new model for high-energy ion implantation is proposed, based on the use of the Fokker-Planck equation. An efficient algorithm of the adaptive type is devised for the numerical solution of the problem. A simulation of the implantation of boron in silicon is carried out for energies ranging from 10 to 100 MeV. The nitrogen ion spectrum generated from a low energy Mather-type Plasma Focus device is reported. The main species of ions present are N +1, N+2, and N+3. It is found that its relative concentrations at a distance of several cm from the ion source are in agreement with those predicted for an equilibrium charge-state of the beam, and hence the spectrum of the neutral nitrogen is also derived. By taking into account the lateral spread of the beam due to multiple elastic scattering with the background gas, the derivation of absolute values for the total ion spectrum within the investigated energy range (>170 keV), the total number and total energy of the fast particles has been obtained  相似文献

Certain regularities are established which permit tracing the influence of the second level on the results of computing impurity center parameters by means of the results of an analysis of the log p(1/T) curve by using a one-level model. The relative intensities of vibronic splitting components of the3A2g1T2g optical electronic dipole transition induced by odd local vibrations and spin-orbit interaction are calculated for an impurity center with O h point-group symmetry. The polarization dependences and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) are found for the vibronic components in an external magnetic field. In contrast with the previous works, the calculation is not confined to the nearest-term approximation. It is shown that measurements of the polarization dependences and MCD allow one to identify unambiguously the vibronic components. We study the energy spectrum and some properties of various quadrupole centers (magnetic impurities or magnetic impurity complexes that are symmetric with respect to the magnetic sublattices of the antiferromagnet). We allow for the effect of spin-phonon coupling on the quadrupole splitting parameter and show that such coupling can lead to a considerable decrease in the value of this parameter and even change its sign. We investigate the behavior of quadrupole centers with an orbitally degenerate ground state and of quadrupole impurity complexes formed by mixed-valence ions. We demonstrate that such centers may greatly affect the resonant, magnetic, and thermodynamic properties of antiferromagnets. Finally, we analyze the existing experimental data and show that several new effects can be observed in systems with such centers (in particular, a magnetic analog of the Jahn-Teller effect and a strong magnetoelectric effect). A complete solution is given for the problem of impurity excitation by a two-photon field, as a result of which the remaining free quantum passes from one polariton branch of the spectrum to another without change in the wave vector. The decisive role of relaxation constants in the formation of the process is noted. The criteria of independent behavior of photons in this reaction are given. The character of the behavior of the electric field created by a charged impurity in an ionic crystal is studied on the basis of both cluster and analytical approaches. In the cluster approach about 30 000 ions surrounding the impurity are taken into account. These ions are described in a model of polarizable sites. A direct calculation shows that the asymptote of the electric field of a charged impurity at lattice points can differ strongly from the one given by the Coulomb equation written for a homogeneous polarizable medium. The behavior of the electric field at intermediate distances, where the asymptotic behavior cannot yet be used, is studied in detail. It is found that the electric field is increased significantly in comparison to the Coulomb field in the region near the defect. The size of this (strongly polarized) region increases as the dielectric constant increases. These data are in qualitative agreement with the results obtained by Vikhnin et al. and account for the results of recent experiments designed to investigate polarization in reduced virtual ferroelectrics. The effect of a uniform longitudinal magnetic field on the binding energy and photoionization cross-section of a hydrogen-like donor impurity is studied for a semiconductor quantum well-wire approximated by a cylindrical well of finite depth. The selection rules and analytical expressions for the photoionization cross-section are obtained depending on the magnetic field induction, impurity position, and light wave polarization.  相似文献
