Cadmium has been determined by dual-wavelength spectrophotometry with cadion, p-nitrobenzenediazoaminobenzene-p-azobenzene, and a non-ionic surfactant, Triton X-100. Cadion and its cadmium chelate are dissolved in a micellar solution of the surfactant. The absorbance difference at the wavelength of maximum absorption of the cadmium chelate (477 nm) and that of cadion (566 nm) is measured. A combination of triethanolamine, iminodiacetate and citrate is very effective for masking other ions. Cadmium in zinc metal can be determined without prior separation. 相似文献

Spectrophotometry is an analytical technique that is studied at the university level because of its ease of operation and low expense. Three different experimental methods of gradual difficulty are proposed for the application of this technique to the simultaneous determination of two metals. The techniques are applicable to the practice of all subdisciplines of experimental chemistry. Cloud point extraction was applied as a preconcentration step for the determination of trace level of Al(III) in water samples with electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS), flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) and UV-visible spectrophotometry. The aluminum was extracted as aluminum-Eriochrome Cyanine R (ECR) complex, at pH 6 by micelles of the non-ionic surfactant octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol (Triton X-114). The investigations showed that the same CPE procedure can be used for different detection techniques. The results obtained from these techniques were evaluated. Under the optimal conditions, limit of detection obtained with ETAAS, FAAS and UV-visible spectrophotometry were 0.03 ng mL?1, 0.06 µg mL?1 and 0.01 µg mL?1, respectively. The accuracy of the procedure was tested by analysing certified reference material. The method was successfully applied to determination of aluminum in water samples and dialysis fluid. 相似文献

Copper has been determined by dual-wavelength spectrophotometry with alpha,beta,gamma, degrees -tetrakis(1-methylpyridinium-4-yl) porphine (TMPyP). The difference in absorbance at the Soret band of the copper complex (423 nm) and that of TMPyP (446 nm) was measured. Copper in a coastal sea-water sample was preconcentrated with a Chelex-100 separation in which l-cysteine was used as eluent. Several techniques have been proposed for treatment of spectrophotometric data, with the objective of extracting a largest amount of analytical information from spectra composed of unresolved bands. Undoubtedly, a major success was achieved by derivative treatment of the absorbance curves-plotting of the first or a higher order mathematical derivative of absorbance against wavelength (dA/dλ).
