The first conformational analysis of 3‐silathiane and its C‐substituted derivatives, namely, 3,3‐dimethyl‐3‐silathiane 1 , 2,3,3‐trimethyl‐3‐silathiane 2 , and 2‐trimethylsilyl‐3,3‐dimethyl‐3‐silathiane 3 was performed by using dynamic NMR spectroscopy and B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) quantum chemical calculations. From coalescence temperatures, ring inversion barriers ΔG for 1 and 2 were estimated to be 6.3 and 6.8 kcal/mol, respectively. These values are considerably lower than that of thiacyclohexane (9.4 kcal/mol) but slightly higher than the one of 1,1‐dimethylsilacyclohexane (5.5 kcal/mol). The conformational free energy for the methyl group in 2 (?ΔG° = 0.35 kcal/mol) derived from low‐temperature 13C NMR data is fairly consistent with the calculated value. For compound 2 , theoretical calculations give ΔE value close to zero for the equilibrium between the 2 ‐Meax and 2 ‐Meeq conformers. The calculated equatorial preference of the trimethylsilyl group in 3 is much more pronounced (?ΔG° = 1.8 kcal/mol) and the predominance of the 3 ‐SiMe3 eq conformer at room temperature was confirmed by the simulated 1H NMR and 2D NOESY spectra. The effect of the 2‐substituent on the structural parameters of 2 and 3 is discussed. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The conformational analysis of the first representative of the Si‐alkoxy substituted six‐membered Si,N‐heterocycles, 1,3‐dimethyl‐3‐isopropoxy‐3‐silapiperidine, was performed by low‐temperature 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and DFT theoretical calculations. In contrast to the expectations from the conformational energies of methyl and alkoxy substituents, the Meaxi‐PrOeq conformer was found to predominate in the conformational equilibrium in the ratio Meaxi‐PrOeq : Meeqi‐PrOax of ca. 2 : 1 as from the 1H and 13C NMR study. The thermodynamic parameters obtained by the complete line shape analysis showed that the main contribution to the barrier to ring inversion originates from the entropy term of the free energy of activation. The Raman and infrared spectra (4000 to 50 cm–1) of the gas, liquid or solution, and solid have been recorded of n‐propylamine, CH3CH2CH2NH2. Variable temperature (−60 to −100 °C) studies of the Raman (1175 to 625 cm–1) and far infrared (600 to 10 cm–1) spectra dissolved in liquid xenon were carried out. From these data, the five possible conformers were identified and their relative stabilities obtained with enthalpy difference relative to trans–trans (Tt) for trans–gauche (Tg) of 79 ± 9 cm–1 (0.9 ± 0.1 kJ/mol); for Gg of 91 ± 26 cm–1 (1.08 ± 0.3 kJ/mol); for Gg′ of 135 ± 21 cm–1 (1.61 ± 0.2 kJ/mol); for Gt of 143 ± 11 cm–1 (1.71 ± 0.1 kJ/mol). The percentage of the five conformers is estimated to be 18% for the Tt, 24 ± 1% for Tg, 23 ± 3% for Gg, 18 ± 1% for Gg′ and 18 ± 1% for Gt at ambient temperature. The conformational stabilities have been predicted from ab initio calculations utilizing several different basis sets up to aug‐cc‐pVTZ from both second‐order Møller–Plesset (MP2, full) and density functional theory calculations by the Becke, three‐parameter, Lee–Yang–Parr method. Vibrational assignments were provided for the observed bands for all five conformers, which are supported by MP2(full)/6‐31G(d) ab initio calculations to predict harmonic force constants, wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman activities and depolarization ratios for both conformers. Estimated r0 structural parameters were obtained from adjusted MP2(full)/6‐311+G(d,p) calculations. The results are discussed and compared with the corresponding properties of some related molecules. The Raman and infrared spectra (3500–50 cm−1) of the gas, liquid or solution, and solid were recorded of 2,2,3,3,3‐pentafluoropropylamine (CF3CF2CH2NH2) and the ND2 isotopomer. Variable temperature (−55 to − 100 °C) studies of the infrared spectra (3600–400 cm−1) of samples dissolved in liquid xenon have been carried out. From these data, two of the five possible conformers have been identified and their relative stabilities obtained. The enthalpy difference was determined between the more stable Tt conformer and the less stable Tg form to be 280 ± 14 cm−1 (3.35 ± 0.17 kJ/mol). The first indicator is the NCCC dihedral angle (G = gauche or T = trans), and the second one (g = gauche or t = trans) is the relative position of the lone pair of electrons on nitrogen with respect to the β‐carbon. The percentage of the Tg conformer at ambient temperature is estimated to be 34 ± 2%. The conformational stabilities have been predicted from ab initio calculations utilizing several different basis sets up to aug‐cc‐pVTZ for both MP2(full) and density functional theory calculations by the B3LYP method. Vibrational assignments have been provided for most of the observed bands for both isotopomers, supported by MP2(full)/6‐31G(d) ab initio calculations to predict the harmonic force fields, wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman activities, and depolarization ratios for both conformers. Estimated r0 structural parameters were obtained from adjusted MP2(full)/6‐311 + G(d,p) calculations. The results are discussed and compared with the corresponding properties of some related molecules. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

4,4‐Dimethyl‐1‐(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)‐1,4‐azasilinane 1 and 2,2,6,6‐tetramethyl‐4‐(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)‐1,4,2,6‐oxazadisilinane 2 were studied by variable temperature dynamic 1H, 13C, 19F NMR spectroscopy and theoretical calculations at the DFT (density functional theory) and MP2 (Møller‐Plesset 2) levels of theory. Both kinetic (barriers to ring inversion) and thermodynamic data (frozen conformational equilibria) could be obtained for the two compounds. The computations revealed two minima on the potential energy surface for molecules 1 and 2 corresponding to the rotamers with the CF3SO2 group directed ‘inward’ and ‘outward’ the ring, the latter being 0.2–0.4 kcal/mol (for 1 ) and 1.1 kcal/mol (for 2 ) more stable than the former. The vibrational calculations at the DFT and MP2 levels of theory give the values of the free energy difference ΔGo for the ‘inward’ ‘outward’ equilibrium consistent with those determined from the experimentally measured ratio of the rotamers. The structure of crystalline compound 2 was ascertained by X‐ray diffraction analysis. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We here report on the conformational evolution of the bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion (TFSI) in protic and aprotic TFSI‐based ionic liquids as a function of temperature. The investigation is performed by Raman spectroscopy in the spectral ranges 240‐380 cm−1 and 715‐765 cm−1, where the interference from bands due to the cations is negligible. The contribution from each TFSI conformation, i.e. the cisoid (C1) and the transoid (C2), is quantified in order to estimate the enthalpy of conformational change, ΔH, which is found to be in the range 3.4–7.3 kJ/mol in the liquid state. Conformational information is for the first time determined from the 740 cm−1 band, which previously mainly has been used as an indicator of ion‐ion interactions. The similarity in ΔH values obtained from the two spectral ranges demonstrates the validity of using also the 740 cm−1 band for the quantification of the TFSI conformational evolution. The conformational flexibility of three covalently linked dimers consisting of two xanthene‐based moieties connected by a diphenyl ether linker was studied using NMR spectroscopy, X‐ray crystallography, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The three dimers interconvert as a function of pH: the doubly cationic dimer (Xan+)2 exists in acidic solutions (pH < 0.5), the mono‐alcohol monocation Xan+–Xan‐OH at intermediate pH values (pH = 1–3), and the neutral diol at the highest pH‐values (pH > 3). Each dimer exhibits conformational degrees of freedom associated with rotations of either the xanthene moiety or of the diphenyl ether (DPE) linker. The barriers for rotation of the xanthylium moiety were evaluated using DFT calculations, yielding values of 23 kcal/mol for (Xan+)2 and 11 kcal/mol for (Xan‐OH)2, respectively. The rotational barrier for the diphenyl ether linker in Xan+–Xan‐OH (15 kcal/mol) was experimentally determined using variable temperature NMR measurements. The relative orientation of the two –OH groups in (Xan‐OH)2 diol was investigated in solution and the solid state using NMR spectroscopy and X‐ray crystallography. The conformer observed in the solid state was found to be the In–Out conformer, while free rotation of the xanthenol units is thought to occur on the NMR timescale at room temperature. These studies are relevant for the design of linkers for efficient water oxidation catalysts. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

G3(MP2)//B3LYP calculations have been carried out on trans‐ and cis‐decalin, and their mono‐, di‐, tri‐, and tetraoxa‐analogs. The main purpose of the work was to obtain enthalpies of formation for these compounds, and to study the relative stabilities of the cistrans and positional isomers of the various (poly)oxadecalins. Comparison of the computational enthalpies of formation with the respective experimental ones, known only for the decalins and 1,3,5,7‐tetraoxadecalins, shows that in both cases the computational values are more negative than the experimental ones, the deviations being ?5 to ?7 kJ mol?1 for the decalins and ?12 to ?17 kJ mol?1 for the 1,3,5,7‐tetraoxadecalins. The respective computational enthalpies of cistrans isomerization, however, are in excellent to satisfactory agreement with the experimental data. The cistrans enthalpy differences vary from +11.0 kJ mol?1 for decalin to ?15.4 kJ mol?1 for 1,4,5,8‐tetraoxadecalin. Low relative enthalpy values were also calculated for the cis isomers of 1,8‐dioxadecalin (?3.7 kJ mol?1), 1,3,6‐trioxadecalin (?4.6 kJ mol?1), 1,3,8‐trioxadecalin (?9.7 kJ mol?1), 1,4,5‐ trioxadecalin (?5.6 kJ mol?1), 1,3,5,8‐tetraoxadecalin (?7.3 kJ mol?1), and 1,3,6,8‐tetraoxadecalin (?14.5 kJ mol?1). The effect of different substituents on the kinetics of the reactions between 2‐amino‐benzamide and some of benzaldehyde derivatives have been spectrally investigated in the presence of formic acid. The proposed mechanism were challenged due to the determination of rate‐determining step (RDS) and also, to obtain the general rate law of the reaction. For all substituents, the reactions followed the second‐order kinetics and the partial orders of reactions were recognized with respect to each reactant. Electron withdrawing substituents on benzaldehyde ring increased the rate of reaction. Kinetic values (k and Ea) and associated activation parameters (ΔH?, ΔG? and ΔS?) of the reactions were determined. Both the Arrhenius and the Eyring equations were used to calculate activation energy. Comparison of magnitude of and T showed that the reactions were enthalpy controlled. Isokinetic plots for the reactions were plotted and linear relationship between and recognized that relative contribution of enthalpy and entropy to the overall free energy was the same in the reactions.  相似文献

The effect of acidity upon the rate of nitrosation of N‐benzyl,O‐methylhydroxylamine ( 3 ) in 1:1 (v/v) H2O/MeOH at 25 °C has been investigated. The pseudo‐first‐order rate constant (kobs) for loss of HNO2 as the limiting reagent decreases as [H3O+] increases. This is compatible with two parallel reaction channels (Scheme 2 ). One involves the direct reaction of the free hydroxylamine with HNO2 (k1 = 1.4 × 102 dm3 mol?1 s?1, 25 °C) and the other involves the reaction of the free hydroxylamine with NO+ (k2 = 5.9 × 109 dm3 mol?1 s?1). In contrast, there is only a very slight increase in kobs with increasing [H3O+] for nitrosation of N,O‐dimethylhydroxylamine ( 4 ) in dilute aqueous solution at 25 °C to give N‐nitroso‐dimethylhydroxylamine, 5 . This also fits a two‐channel mechanism (Scheme 3 ). Again, one involves the nitrosation of the free base by NO+ (k2 = 8 × 109 dm3 mol?1 s?1, 25 °C) but the other channel now involves catalysis by chloride (k3 = 1.3 × 108 dm3 mol?1 s?1). Arising from these results, we propose an estimate of pKa ~ ?5 for protonated nitrous acid, (O = N? OH), which is appreciably different from the literature value of +1.7. The interconversion of cis and trans conformational isomers of 5 has been investigated by temperature‐dependent NMR spectroscopy in CDCl3, methanol‐d4, toluene‐d8 and dimethyl sulfoxide‐d6. Enthalpies and entropies of reaction and of activation have been determined and compared with computational values obtained at the B3LYP/6‐31G* level of theory. The cis form is slightly more stable at normal temperatures and no solvent effects upon the thermodynamics or kinetics of the conformational equilibrium were predicted computationally or detected experimentally. In addition, key geometric parameters and dipole moments have been calculated for the cis and trans forms, and for the lowest energy transition structure for their interconversion, in the gas phase and in chloroform. These results indicate electronic delocalisation in the ground states of 5 which is lost in the transition structure for their interconversion. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Raman spectra of liquid cyclohexane, C6H12, and deuterated cyclohexane, C6D12, were recorded with both parallel and perpendicular polarizations. The observed vibrational wavenumbers, depolarization ratios, and their intensities were measured and compared with the corresponding predicted values as well as the experimental values previously reported. The conformational energetics were obtained with the Møller–Plesset perturbation method to the second order [MP2(full)] as well as with density functional theory by the B3LYP method utilizing a variety of basis sets. The average ab initio predicted difference in energy between the more stable chair form (D3d) and the less stable twisted‐boat form (D2) is 2213 cm−1 (26.47 kJ/mol), with a similar value of 2223 cm−1 (26.59 kJ/mol) from the density function theory calculations. By using two dihedral angles as variables, we calculated the chair–boat interconversion pathway for cyclohexane at the MP2(full)/6‐31G(d) level. The harmonic force constants, Raman intensities, depolarization values, and the potential energy distribution were predicted from both MP2(full) and B3LYP calculations with the 6‐31G(d) basis set and compared with the experimental values for the chair form when available. The ‘adjusted’ r0 structural parameters were obtained from MP2/6‐311 + G(d,p) calculations and previously reported microwave rotational constants of five isotopomers of cyclohexane: i.e. 1,1‐d2, 13C‐1,1‐d2, 1,1,2,2,3,3‐d6, and d1 (equatorial and axial). The determined distances in Å are: r(CC) = 1.536(3), r(CH)ax = 1.098(1); r(CH)eq = 1.095(1); and the angles in degrees: ∠CCHax = 108.8(3); ∠CCHeq = 110.2(3); ∠CCC = 111.1(3); and ∠HCH = 107.6(3) with dihedral angle ∠CCCC = 55.7(3). These values are compared with those previously reported and it is found that the difference in the r0 distances (0.003 Å) between the two CH values is much smaller than the difference (0.008 Å) previously reported for the rs values. Theoretical design on a new molecular switch and fluorescent chemosensor double functional device of aza‐crown ether (2,2′‐dipyridine‐embedded N‐(9‐anthraceneyl(pyrenyl)methyl)aza‐15‐crown‐5) was explored. The interactions between ligands and a series of alkaline earth metal cations (Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, and Ba2+) were investigated. The fully optimized geometry structures of the free ligands ( L 1, L 2) and their metal cation complexes ( L 1/M2+, L 2/M2+) were calculated with the B3LYP/6‐31G(d) method. The natural bond orbital analysis, which is based on optimized geometric structures, was used to explore the interaction of L 1/M2+, L 2/M2+ molecules. The absorption spectra of L 1, L 2, L 1/M2+, and L 2/M2+, and their excited states were studied by time‐dependent density functional theory. A new type molecular device L 2(2,2′‐dipyridine‐embedded N‐(9‐pyrenyl methyl)aza‐15‐crown‐5) is designed, which not only has the selectivity for Sr2+, and construct allosteric switch, but also has fluorescent sensor performance.  相似文献

The calculated and experimental Raman spectra of the (EMI+)TFSI ionic liquid, where EMI+ is the 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium cation and TFSI the bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion, have been investigated for a better understanding of the EMI+ and TFSI conformational isomerism as a function of temperature. Characteristic Raman lines of the planar (p) and non‐planar (np) EMI+ conformers are identified using the reference (EMI+)Br salt. The anion conformer of C2 symmetry is confirmed to be more stable than the cis (C1) one by 4.5 ± 0.2 kJ mol−1. At room temperature, the population of trans (C2) anions and np cations is 75 ± 2% and 87 ± 4%, respectively. Fast cooling quenches a metastable glassy phase composed of mainly C2 anion conformers and p cation conformers, whereas slow cooling gives a crystalline phase composed of C1 anion conformers and of np cation conformers. The conformational equilibria of 3‐methyl‐3‐silathiane 5 , 3‐fluoro‐3‐methyl‐3‐silathiane 6 and 1‐fluoro‐1‐methyl‐1‐silacyclohexane 7 have been studied using low temperature 13C NMR spectroscopy and theoretical calculations. The conformer ratio at 103 K was measured to be about 5 ax: 5 eq = 15:85, 6 ax: 6 eq = 50:50 and 7 ax: 7 eq = 25:75. The equatorial preference of the methyl group in 5 (0.35 kcal mol?1) is much less than in 3‐methylthiane 9 (1.40 kcal mol?1) but somewhat greater than in 1‐methyl‐1‐silacyclohexane 1 (0.23 kcal mol?1). Compounds 5–7 have low barriers to ring inversion: 5.65 (ax → eq) and 6.0 (eq → ax) kcal mol?1 ( 5 ), 4.6 ( 6 ), 5.1 (Meax → Meeq) and 5.4 (Meeq → Meax) kcal mol?1 ( 7 ). Steric effects cannot explain the observed conformational preferences, like equal population of the two conformers of 6 , or different conformer ratio for 5 and 7 . Actually, by employing the NBO analysis, in particular, considering the second order perturbation energies, vicinal stereoelectronic interactions between the Si–X and adjacent C–H, C–S, and C–C bonds proved responsible. Raman spectra of 1,3‐disilabutane (SiH3CH2SiH2CH3) as a liquid were recorded at 293 K and as a solid at 78 K. In the Raman cryostat at 78 K an amorphous phase was first formed, giving a spectrum similar to that of the liquid. After annealing to 120 K, the sample crystallized and large changes occurred in the spectra since more than 20 bands present in the amorphous solid phase vanished. These spectral changes made it possible to assign Raman bands to the anti or gauche conformers with confidence. Additional Raman spectra were recorded of the liquid at 14 temperatures between 293 and 137 K. Some Raman bands changed their peak heights with temperature but were countered by changes in linewidths, and from three band pairs assigned to the anti and gauche conformers, the conformational enthalpy difference ΔconfH(gaucheanti) was found to be 0 ± 0.3 kJ mol−1 in the liquid. Infrared spectra were obtained in the vapor and in the liquid phases at ambient temperature and in the solid phases at 78 K in the range 4000–400 cm−1. The sample crystallized immediately when deposited on the CsI window at 78 K, and many bands present in the vapor and liquid disappeared. Additional infrared spectra in argon matrixes at 5 K were recorded before and after annealing to temperatures 20–34 K. Quantum chemical calculations were carried out at the HF, MP2 and B3LYP levels with a variety of basis sets. The HF and DFT calculations suggested the anti conformer as the more stable one by ca 1 kJ mol−1, while the MP2 results favored gauche by up to 0.4 kJ mol−1. The Complete Basis Set method CBS‐QB3 gave an energy difference of 0.1 kJ mol−1, with anti as the more stable one. Scaled force fields from B3LYP/cc‐pVQZ calculations gave vibrational wavenumbers and band intensities for the two conformers. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Based on energetic compound [1,2,5]‐oxadiazolo‐[3,4‐d]‐pyridazine, a series of functionalized derivatives were designed and first reported. Afterwards, the relationship between their structure and performance was systematically explored by density functional theory at B3LYP/6‐311 g (d, p) level. Results show that the bond dissociation energies of the weakest bond (N–O bond) vary from 157.530 to 189.411 kJ · mol?1. The bond dissociation energies of these compounds are superior to that of HMX (N–NO2, 154.905 kJ · mol?1). In addition, H1, H2, H4, I2, I3, C1, C2, and D1 possess high density (1.818–1.997 g · cm?3) and good detonation performance (detonation velocities, 8.29–9.46 km · s?1; detonation pressures, 30.87–42.12 GPa), which may be potential explosives compared with RDX (8.81 km · s?1, 34.47 GPa ) and HMX (9.19 km · s?1, 38.45 GPa). Finally, allowing for the explosive performance and molecular stability, three compounds may be suggested as good potential candidates for high‐energy density materials. The gas‐phase elimination kinetics of the title compounds were carried out in a static reaction system and seasoned with allyl bromide. The working temperature and pressure ranges were 200–280 °C and 22–201.5 Torr, respectively. The reactions are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow a first‐order rate law. These substrates produce isobutene and corresponding carbamic acid in the rate‐determining step. The unstable carbamic acid intermediate rapidly decarboxylates through a four‐membered cyclic transition state (TS) to give the corresponding organic nitrogen compound. The temperature dependence of the rate coefficients is expressed by the following Arrhenius equations: for tert‐butyl carbamate logk1 (s?1) = (13.02 ± 0.46) – (161.6 ± 4.7) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1, for tert‐butyl N‐hydroxycarbamate logk1 (s?1) = (12.52 ± 0.11) – (147.8 ± 1.1) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1, and for 1‐(tert‐butoxycarbonyl)‐imidazole logk1 (s?1) = (11.63 ± 0.21)–(134.9 ± 2.0) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1. Theoretical studies of these elimination were performed at Møller–Plesset MP2/6‐31G and DFT B3LYP/6‐31G(d), B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) levels of theory. The calculated bond orders, NBO charges, and synchronicity (Sy) indicate that these reactions are concerted, slightly asynchronous, and proceed through a six‐membered cyclic TS type. Results for estimated kinetic and thermodynamic parameters are discussed in terms of the proposed reaction mechanism and TS structure. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

B3‐LYP/cc‐pVDZ calculations of the gas‐phase structure and vibrational spectra of the isolated molecule cyclo(L ‐Ser‐L ‐Ser), a cyclic di‐amino acid peptide (CDAP), were carried out by assuming C2 symmetry. It is predicted that the minimum‐energy structure is a boat conformation for the diketopiperazine (DKP) ring with both L ‐seryl side chains being folded slightly above the ring. An additional structure of higher energy (15.16 kJ mol−1) has been calculated for a DKP ring with a planar geometry, although in this case two fundamental vibrations have been calculated with imaginary wavenumbers. The reported X‐ray crystallographic structure of cyclo(L ‐Ser‐L ‐Ser), shows that the DKP ring displays a near‐planar conformation, with both the two L ‐seryl side chains being folded above the ring. It is hypothesized that the crystal packing forces constrain the DKP ring in a planar conformation and it is probable that the lower energy boat conformation may prevail in the aqueous environment. Raman scattering and Fourier‐transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectra of solid state and aqueous solution samples of cyclo(L ‐Ser‐L ‐Ser) are reported and discussed. Vibrational band assignments have been made on the basis of comparisons with the calculated vibrational spectra and band wavenumber shifts upon deuteration of labile protons. The experimental Raman and IR results for solid‐state samples show characteristic amide I vibrations which are split (Raman: 1661 and 1687 cm−1, IR: 1666 and 1680 cm−1), possibly due to interactions between molecules in a crystallographic unit cell. The cis amide I band is differentiated by its deuterium shift of ∼30 cm−1, which is larger than that previously reported for trans amide I deuterium shifts. A cis amide II mode has been assigned to a Raman band located at 1520 cm−1. The occurrence of this cis amide II mode at a wavenumber above 1500 cm−1 concurs with results of previously examined CDAP molecules with low molecular weight substituents on the Cα atoms, and is also indicative of a relatively unstrained DKP ring. Infrared spectra of 1,2‐bis(trifluorosilyl)ethane (SiF3CH2CH2SiF3) were obtained in the vapour and liquid phases, in argon matrices and in the solid phase. Raman spectra of the compound as a liquid were recorded at various temperatures between 293 and 270 K and spectra of an apparently crystalline solid were observed. The spectra revealed the existence of two conformers (anti and gauche) in the vapour, liquid and in the matrix. When the vapour was chock‐frozen on a cold finger at 78 K and annealed to 150 K, certain weak Raman bands vanished in the crystal. The vibrational spectra of the crystal demonstrated mutual exclusion between IR and Raman bands in accordance with C2h symmetry. Intensity variations between 293 and 270 K of pairs of various Raman bands gave ΔH(gauche—anti) = 5.6 ± 0.5 kJ mol−1 in the liquid, suggesting 85% anti and 15% gauche in equilibrium at room temperature. Annealing experiments indicate that the anti conformer also has a lower energy in the argon matrices, is the low‐energy conformer in the liquid and is also present in the crystal. The spectra of both conformers have been interpreted, and 34 anti and 17 gauche bands were tentatively identified. Ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed giving optimized geometries, infrared and Raman intensities and anharmonic vibrational frequencies for both conformers. The conformational energy difference derived in CBS‐QB3 and in G3 calculations was 5 kJ mol−1. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
